자신을 다스리십시오
Conquer Yourself

“사람이 만일 온 천하를 얻고도 자기 목숨을 잃으면 무엇이 유익하리요 사람이 무엇을 주고 자기 목숨과 바꾸겠느냐”(막 8:36-37)

다른 사람들을 다스렸던 유명한 지도자들은 역사적으로 수백 명에 달합니다. 온 세상이 그들에게 복종했고, 모든 것이 그들의 압제 아래에 있었습니다. 심지어 어떤 지도자들은 다른 사람들에게 너무나도 존경받은 나머지 하나님이 계셔야 할 위치에 자리하기도 했습니다. 그러나 예수님은 말씀하셨습니다. “사람이 만일 온 천하를 얻고도 자기 목숨을 잃으면 무엇이 유익하리요 사람이 무엇을 주고 자기 목숨과 바꾸겠느냐”(막 8:36-37)

다른 사람들을 다스리거나 지배하는 힘에 대해 절대 자만하지 마십시오. 오히려 당신의 권세를 자신에게 사용하는 법을 배우십시오. 당신 자신을 다스리십시오! 자기 자신에게 “나는 옳은 일만 하고 옳은 말만 할 것이다”라고 말하고 그것을 지킬 때 당신은 진정으로 승리하는 것입니다.

당신이 자신의 말과 행동을 다스릴 수 있는 사람이라면, 그것들을 하나님의 말씀에 복종시키십시오. 그러면 당신은 진정한 성공을 위해 준비된 것입니다. 자신에게 “어떤 더러운 것도 나에게서 나가지 않을 것이다.”라고 말하고, 말씀을 통해 그러한 삶의 방식을 의식적으로 고수하는 것이 승리의 길입니다.

분노, 증오, 비통함, 질투, 부러움과 같은 악한 것들을 겉으로 드러내거나 표출하는 것을 거절하십시오. 오히려 당신 주위의 사람들이 오직 예수님의 축복과 은혜와 긍휼을 경험하도록 하십시오. 당신을 통해 오직 그분의 사랑과 의의 일들만 당신의 세상에 퍼지도록 결단하십시오.

CONQUER YOURSELF

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:36-37).

Throughout history, there have been hundreds of well-known leaders who subdued other men. The whole world was subject to them; they had everything under their tyranny. Some were even so revered and placed by others in the class of God. But Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36-37).

Never pride yourself in your ability to subdue or dominate others; rather, learn to use your authority over yourself. Conquer yourself! That’s when you really win: when you say to yourself, “I’m going to do the right thing and say the right thing only,” and keep at it. When your words and actions are under your charge, consciously subjected to God’s Word, then you’re ready for true success. When you tell yourself, “Nothing filthy will come out of me” and consciously ensure such a lifestyle through the Word, that’s the way of victory.

Refuse to give vent or expression to satanic manifestations such as anger, hatred, bitterness, jealousy and envy. Be sure that only the blessings, grace and compassion of Jesus are seen and experienced by everyone around you. Make the choice that only His love and works of righteousness will effuse from you to your world.

PRAYER
Blessed Father, I thank you for the blessing and privilege to receive your Word. My mind is stayed on your Word; the Spirit of excellence at work in me brings discipline and stability into my life, to produce fruits of righteousness and manifest your love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

말씀은 참된 양식입니다
The Word Is Food Indeed

“이는 내 살은 참된 양식이요, 내 피는 참된 음료임이라”(요 6:55, 한글킹제임스)

자신의 영적인 갈급함과 굶주림을 채우기 위해 여전히 하나님께 울부짖는 사람들이 있습니다. 그것은 근거 없는 외침이며 어떤 결과도 맺지 못할 것입니다. 하나님은 이미 우리의 갈급함을 아시고 하늘로부터 양식을 보내주셨습니다. 오늘날 자신을 채워 달라고 하나님께 빌거나 울부짖는 그리스도인이 있다면 그는 시간을 낭비하고 있는 것입니다.

예수님께서 “의에 주리고 목마른 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 배부를 것임이요”(마 5:6)라고 말씀하셨을 때, 그분은 유대인들에게 말씀하신 것입니다. 이때는 아직 신약 시대가 시작되기 전이었습니다. 그러므로 그것은 새로운 피조물인 그리스도인들에게 하신 말씀이 아니었습니다.

예수님은 요한복음 6:35(한글킹제임스)에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 생명의 빵이니라. 내게 오는 자는 결코 배고프지 아니하며, 또 나를 믿는 자는 어느 때나 결코 목마르지 않으리라.” 그분께 오는 자는 누구든지 양식을 얻습니다. 그렇다면 남은 질문은 ‘당신이 그분께 왔는가?’ 입니다. 만약 당신이 거듭났다면 당신은 그분께 온 자입니다. 당신은 새로운 탄생을 통해 그분 안에 있습니다. 그런데 왜 아직도 배고파 하십니까? 이미 양식이 주어졌습니다. 예수님은 하늘에서 온 빵이십니다(요 6:41).

또한 오늘의 본문 구절을 통해 우리는 그분의 말씀이 양식이라는 것을 알 수 있습니다. 예수님과 그분의 말씀은 하나이기 때문입니다. 요한복음 1:14은 말합니다. “말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매…” 그렇다면, 당신이 영적인 갈급함을 느낄 때 어떻게 해야 그것이 채워지겠습니까? 말씀을 “먹으십시오.” 하나님의 말씀의 사역 안으로 들어가십시오. 오늘 「말씀의 실재」를 통해 하나님의 말씀이 당신에게 왔을 때 당신은 양식을 먹고 있는 것입니다. 당신은 영적 영양분을 공급받고 있습니다.

성경은 말합니다. “사람이 떡으로만 살 것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로부터 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라”(마 4:4) 그러므로 갈급할 때마다 “주님, 저는 당신이 갈급해요.”라고 노래하거나 우는 대신 말씀을 공부하십시오. 하나님의 말씀은 당신의 갈급함을 해결해주기 때문입니다. 당신은 이제 선지자가 했던 말을 이해할 수 있을 것입니다. “만군의 하나님 여호와시여 나는 주의 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 자라 내가 주의 말씀을 얻어 먹었사오니 주의 말씀은 내게 기쁨과 내 마음의 즐거움이오나”(렘 15:16)

고백
나의 갈급함은 내 안에 모든 지혜와 영적 이해로 풍성하게 거하는 그리스도의 말씀을 통해서 채워집니다. 내 삶은 위로 앞으로만 가며, 하나님에 대한 지식이 증가함에 따라 나는 모든 선한 일에 열매 맺습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE WORD IS FOOD INDEED

For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed (John 6:55 NKJV).

There are some who still cry to God to fill them afresh, to satisfy their spiritual thirst or hunger. It’s a baseless cry and may yield no results. He knew we were hungry and He sent the Bread from heaven. Today, any Christian who’s begging and crying to God to be filled is wasting his or her time.When Jesus said, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6), He was only introducing the message that He brought to the Jews; the New Testament hadn’t begun yet. He wasn’t talking to the Christian, the new creation.

In John 6:35, He said, “…I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” That bread is available to anyone who comes to Him. The question then is: have you come to Him? If you’re born again, yes! You’re in Him through the New Birth; so why are you still hungry? The Bread has come; Jesus is the Bread from heaven (John 6:41).

Also, from our theme verse, we read that His Word is the Bread, because Jesus and His Word are one. John 1:14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us….” So, if you’re experiencing spiritual hunger, what should you do? How do you get filled? “Eat” the Word; get under the ministry of the Word of God. Even now, as the Word of God is coming to you through this devotional, you’re being fed; you’re being nourished spiritually.

The Bible says, “…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Rather than sing and cry, “Lord, I’m hungry for you,” study the Scriptures, for only the Word of God satisfies your hunger. Now you can understand why the prophet said, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts” (Jeremiah 15:16).

CONFESSION
My hunger has been quenched through the Word of Christ which dwells in me richly in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. My life is upward and forward only; I’m fruitful in every good work as I increase in the knowledge of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Reckon Yourself Alive In Him

“그가 죽으심은 죄에 대하여 단번에 죽으심이요 그가 살아 계심은 하나님께 대하여 살아 계심이니 이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님께 대하여는 살아 있는 자로 여길지어다”(롬 6:10-11)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 “여기다”라는 단어는 헬라어로 “로기조마이(logizomai)”입니다. 이 단어는 회계 용어로서 무언가를 세거나 그것과 함께 그 합계를 기록한다는 의미입니다. 예를 들어, 마가복음 15:28(한글킹제임스)은 예수님이 범죄자들과 더불어 헤아림(여김)을 받았다고 말합니다. 예수님은 범죄자가 아니셨지만 두 명의 강도 사이에서 죽으셨습니다. 그분은 범죄자들과 같이 여김을 받았습니다.

성경은 말합니다. “그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라”(롬 6:4) 예수님이 죽으셨을 때, 우리도 그분 안에서 그분과 함께 죽었습니다. 그분께서 우리를 대신해서 죽으셨기 때문입니다. 그분은 이 세상에 있는 그리고 오는 세상의 모든 사람을 대신해서 십자가에 달리셨습니다.

이것이 바로 오늘의 본문 구절에서 “이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님께 대하여는 살아 있는 자로 여길지어다”가 뜻하는 바입니다. 그러므로 이제 당신은 “나는 죄에 대하여 죽었고 하나님께 대하여 살아있는 자다!”라고 선포할 수 있고, 그것이 당신의 지속적인 고백이 되어야 합니다. 자신이 하나님과 가깝지 않은 것처럼 느껴질 수도 있습니다. 그러나 당신이 거듭났다면 예수님이 하신 모든 일은 당신을 위한 것이었다고 여기십시오.

“저는 너무 약해요. 다른 그리스도인들처럼 유혹을 이길 수 없어요.”라고 말하는 대신, 자신이 죄에 대해 죽었다고 여기십시오! 죄로 인해 고군분투하는 사람처럼 생각하거나 말하거나 행동하지 마십시오. 당신의 사고방식을 바꾸고 예수님이 당신을 대신하여 하신 일을 받아들이십시오. 이러한 의식이 당신을 바르게 살도록 할 것입니다!

당신의 생각을 사용하십시오! 자신이 죄에 대해서 죽었다고 여기고 그것이 현재의 사고방식이 되게 하십시오. 그것이 당신을 바라보는 하나님의 관점과 일치하는 실제적인 사고방식입니다. 그리스도가 죽으셨을 때, 그분이 장사되셨을 때, 그리고 그분이 죽음에서 일으켜지셨을 때 당신은 그분 안에 있었습니다. 그러므로 하나님은 이제 그리스도 안에 살아 있는 당신을 보십니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다.

고백
나는 하나님께 대하여 산 자입니다. 나는 성령의 능력으로 다스려지는 하나님의 사랑의 아들의 왕국에 속했습니다. 나는 그리스도의 희생의 직접적인 수혜자가 되어 그분이 성취하신 사역 안에서 행합니다. 그리스도가 강하시므로 나도 강합니다! 그리스도가 살아 계시므로 나도 산 자가 되었습니다! 하나님을 송축합니다!

RECKON YOURSELF ALIVE IN HIM

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:10-11).

The word “reckon” in the scripture above is “logizomai” in Greek. It’s an accounting term. It means to count or record something to be so; to record or number with the sum. For instance, Mark 15:28 says Jesus was “numbered” (reckoned) with the transgressors. Jesus wasn’t a transgressor, yet He died between two thieves. He was numbered with the transgressors.

Now, the Bible says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). When Jesus died, we died in and with Him, because He died in our place. He was on the Cross on behalf of everybody that ever came to this world and that’ll ever come to this world.

That’s what our theme verse is talking about when it says, “…Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Therefore, you can now declare, “I’m dead to sin, and I’m alive to God!” This should be your constant confession of the Word. You may not feel like you’re close to God, but the question is, are you born again? If yes, then take it to account, reckon that all that Jesus did was for you.

Instead of saying, “I’m so weak; I’m not able to resist temptation like some other Christians,” reckon or consider yourself to be dead to sin! Don’t think, talk or act like someone who’s struggling with sin. Change your way of thinking and accept what Jesus did in your behalf. This consciousness will empower you to live right!

Use your mind! Reckon yourself to be dead to sin. Let it be your present-hour mentality. That’s the practical way to be in sync with how God sees you and how He thinks about you. You were in Christ when He died, you were in Him when He was buried, and you were in Him when He was raised from the dead. He sees you alive in Him now. Praise God.

CONFESSION
I’m alive to God, and I belong in the Kingdom of His dear Son where I reign and rule by the power of the Spirit! I walk in the finished works of Christ, being the direct beneficiary of His vicarious sacrifice. I’m strong, because He’s strong! And I live because He lives! Blessed be God!

말씀을 통한 번영
Prospering Through The Word

“유다 사람의 장로들이 선지자 학개와 잇도의 손자 스가랴의 권면을 따랐으므로 성전 건축하는 일이 형통한지라 이스라엘 하나님의 명령과 바사 왕 고레스와 다리오와 아닥사스다의 조서를 따라 성전을 건축하며 일을 끝내되”(스 6:14)

NIV성경은 위의 구절을 이렇게 번역했습니다. “유다 장로들은 성전 짓기를 계속했습니다. 예언자 학개와 잇도의 아들 스가랴의 말씀 때문에 일이 잘 되어 나갔습니다…”(쉬운성경). 밑줄 친 부분을 주목해 보십시오. 두 선지자 학개와 스가랴가 하나님의 말씀을 전했습니다. 그 결과 사람들이 세움을 받아 성장하고 형통하게 되었습니다.

정말 놀랍습니다. 이 일은 우리에게 하나님의 말씀의 중요성과 변화시키는 능력을 알려줍니다. 당신이 사업가이든지 학생이든지 상관없습니다. 당신의 직업이 무엇이든지 당신은 자신의 삶을 위해 하나님의 말씀이 필요합니다. 말씀을 대체할 수 있는 것은 없습니다. 당신은 인도와 세움과 능력을 위해 끊임없이 하나님의 말씀을 배우고 묵상해야 합니다. 말씀의 역사를 통해 다음 단계로 나아가는 데 필요한 지혜와 기량이 당신에게 주어집니다.
말씀은 당신이 무엇이든 대면하고 어떤 상황에서도 승리할 수 있도록 당신의 영을 강건하게 세워줍니다.

하나님은 분명히 당신의 성공을 위한 계획을 가지고 계십니다. 그리고 그분은 당신의 번영을 위해 충분하고 적절한 공급을 하십니다. 하지만 그분은 말씀을 벗어나는 일은 하지 않으십니다. 그분은 요한삼서 1:2에서 말씀하십니다. “사랑하는 자여, 무엇보다도 네 혼이 잘됨같이 네가 번성하고 강건하기를 바라노라”(한글킹제임스). 당신의 혼은 말씀을 의식적으로 묵상하는 것을 통해 번성합니다.

PROSPERING THROUGH THE WORD

And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia (Ezra 6:14).

The New International Version renders the verse above thus, “So the elders of the Jews continued to build and prosper under the preachingof Haggai the prophet and Zechariah, a descendant of Iddo….” Notice the underlined words in the verse. Those two prophets—Haggai and Zechariah—brought them the Word of God. And the result was the encouragement of the people, and they grew and multiplied.

That’s amazing. It tells us the place of the Word—the importance and transforming power of God’s Word. It makes no difference if you’re into business or you’re a student; irrespective of your vocation, you need the Word for your life. There’s no substitute for that. You have to keep learning and meditating on the Word of God for guidance, encouragement and strength. Through the ministry of the Word, the wisdom and skill you require for your next level are imparted to you. The Word helps to build your spirit strong, so you can face anything and win in any situation.

God surely does have a plan for your success; He’s made adequate provision for your prosperity, but He doesn’t do anything outside of His Word. In 3 John 1:2, He said, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Your soul prospers through conscious meditation on the Word.

CONFESSION
I’m yielded to the ministry of the Word of God in my life. I’m the seed of Abraham, blessed to be a blessing, and I prosper by the Word, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

성령으로 말미암아 활성화되었습니다
Invigorated By The Holy Ghost

“이러므로 내가 하늘과 땅에 있는 각 족속에게 이름을 주신 아버지 앞에 무릎을 꿇고 비노니 그의 영광의 풍성함을 따라 그의 성령으로 말미암아 너희 속사람을 능력으로 강건하게 하시오며”(엡 3:14-16)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 사도 바울은 에베소에 있는 그리스도인들이 성령을 통해 그들의 속사람 안에서 능력으로 강건해지기를 기도했습니다. 바울이 이와 같이 그들을 위해 기도했다는 것은 그가 강건 해진다는 것이 어떤 의미인지 알았고 그 자신도 강건케 되었음을 의미합니다. 그러므로 바울은 하나님이 약속을 이행하게 하거나, 우리가 그리스도인으로서 가지고 있지 않은 무언가를 행하도록 만들기 위해 애쓰지 않았습니다.

그렇다면 바울은 왜 에베소 성도들을 위해 그렇게 기도했습니까? 그들이 내주하시는 성령으로 말미암아 그들 안에서 역사하는 신성한 능력에 대한 충만한 지식에 이르지 못했기 때문입니다. 여기서 “강건케 함”은 하늘로부터 오는 것이 아니라 그들 안에 계신 성령으로부터 말미암습니다. 바울은 에베소 성도들이 그들 안에 계신 성령의 사역을 이해하고 그분의 능력 안에서 걷기를 원했습니다.

당신 안에는 하나님의 영이 있고 그 영은 당신을 활성화시킵니다. 즉 당신에게 행할 수 있는 힘인 초자연적인 능력을 줍니다. 할렐루야! 이것이 절대로 당신이 약하다고 고백하거나 인정해서는 안 되는 이유입니다. 당신의 생명 안에는 어떠한 약함도 없습니다. 그분의 모든 충만 안에서 영광과 다스림과 능력의 화신인 성령이 당신 안에 살아 계시기 때문입니다. 당신의 몸에는 아픔이나 질병, 혹은 마귀가 거할 곳이 하나도 없습니다. 당신 안에 계신 성령님이 당신의 영과 혼과 몸이 활기 넘치고 생명력 있게 유지해줍니다.

로마서 8:11은 이렇게 선포합니다. “예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라.” 이것은 약속이 아니라 현재의 실재입니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

INVIGORATED BY THE HOLY GHOST

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man (Ephesians 3:14-16).

In our theme Scripture, the Apostle Paul, by the Spirit, prayed for the Christians in Ephesus to be strengthened with might in their inner man. If Paul prayed thus for them, it must mean that he knew what it meant to be strengthened and must have been strengthened himself. Therefore, he wasn’t trying to get God to fulfil a promise or do something that we don’t already have as Christians.

Why then did Paul pray for the saints in Ephesus that way? It was because the people hadn’t come to the full knowledge of the divine might at work in them by reason of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It was more of getting them to be conscious of the divine energy, the supernatural might of the Spirit inherent in them. This “strengthening” wasn’t coming from Heaven; it’s by the Spirit of God that’s already inside them. He wanted them to understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit inside them and walk in His might. There’s a Spirit inside you that invigorates you.

That Spirit gives you supernatural power, the ability to perform. Hallelujah! This is why you must never confess or accept that you’re weak. There’s no weakness in your life, for the Holy Spirit, the embodiment of all glory, dominion and strength, lives in you in His fullness. No part of your body is available for sickness, disease, infirmity, or to the devil. The Holy Spirit in you keeps your spirit, soul and body invigorated and ever alive.

Romans 8:11 declares, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” This is no longer a promise but a present-hour reality. Glory to God!

CONFESSION
Every fibre of my being is energised and infused with miracle-working ability. I’m strengthened and invigorated by the Holy Spirit in my inner man, thereby competent for any task. I’m conscious of, and function with His divine power that works in me mightily. Hallelujah!

염려하지 마십시오
Overcoming Anxiety

“아무 것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라”(빌 4:6)

오늘날 전 세계 많은 사람들이 미래뿐만 아니라 현재 상황에 대해서도 두려워하고 있습니다. 사람들이 두려움과 공포를 느끼고 있지만 “공포”는 새로운 것이 아닙니다. 성경을 공부해보면 얼마나 많이 공포에 대해서 말하고 있는지 발견하고는 놀라게 될 것입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 예수님은 모든 위기 가운데서 우리의 승리를 확증하셨습니다. 그분은 요한복음 16:33에서 “… 세상에서는 너희가 환난을 당하나 담대하라 내가 세상을 이기었노라”고 말씀하십니다.

어떤 것에 대해서도 염려하거나 공포를 느낄 필요가 없습니다. 당신은 이미 사탄과 세상과 모든 위기를 이겼습니다. “자녀들아 너희는 하나님께 속하였고 또 그들을 이기었나니 이는 너희 안에 계신 이가 세상에 있는 자보다 크심이라”(요일 4:4) 그러므로 두려워하지 마십시오. 염려하지 마십시오. 염려는 걱정하는 것이고 불안한 상태를 뜻합니다. 그러나 오늘의 본문 구절은 말합니다. “아무 것도 염려하지 말고…”

만일 당신이 “그렇지만 걱정이 되는 걸요.”라고 말한다면 당신은 하나님이 당신에게 거짓말하신다고 말하는 것입니다. 하나님께서 당신이 할 수 없는 것을 요구하신다고 그분을 비난하는 것과 같습니다. 그분이 “염려하지 말라”고 말씀하신다면, 그것은 당신이 염려하지 않고 살 수 있다는 뜻입니다. 그러므로 당신은 이렇게 반응해야 합니다. “하나님을 송축합니다! 나는 그리스도의 평안과 공급 안에 삽니다. 나는 염려하지 않습니다! 하나님이 나와 관계된 모든 것을 완전하게 하셨습니다. 할렐루야!” 이것이 당신이 하나님께 반응하는 방식이 되어야 합니다.

OVERCOMING ANXIETY

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God (Philippians 4:6 AMPC).

Around the world today, many are terrified, not just about the future, but even about the present. There’s fear and terror, but the word “terror” isn’t new. If you study the Bible, you’d be amazed at how many times it talks about terror. Nevertheless, Jesus assured us of victory over all crises. He said in John 16:33, “…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” There’s no need for you to have anxiety or panic bouts over anything; you’ve already overcome Satan, the world and every crisis: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Therefore, stop the fear. Stop the anxiety. Anxiety refers to worry; it’s a state of nervousness. But our theme verse says, “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything….”

If you say, “But I can’t help being worried,” then you’re accusing God of lying to you. You’re accusing Him of asking you to do something you couldn’t do. The fact that He says, “Don’t be anxious,” means you can live without anxiety. Your response, therefore, should be, “Blessed be God! I live in the peace and provisions of Christ; I do not fret! He has perfected all that concerns me. Hallelujah!” That’s how you respond to God.

Refuse to have anxiety about your son, your daughter, your husband, your wife, your brother, your sister, your house rent, your health, your job, business, education, or about anything! When you do, the Bible says the peace of God that’s beyond human comprehension will garrison your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for your Word that stirs faith in my heart and dispels fear and anxiety. I reject every thought of fear, for I’m shielded from the pain and darkness in the world. Greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. I’m full of might by the Spirit of the Lord, for the peace of God which passes all understanding mantles my heart and mind, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

오늘의 본문 구절을 제대로 이해하려면 바른 맥락에서 읽어야 합니다. 위 구절의 의미는 사실 요한일서 2:6에 나와있습니다. “그분 안에 거한다고 말하는 자는 그가 행하신 대로 자기도 행해야 하느니라”(한글킹제임스). 이 구절이 단지 “그분 안에 거한다고 말하는 자는 그가 행하신 대로 행한다”고 말하지 않은 것에 주목하십시오. 이 구절은 “그 자신도”, 즉 당신이 그리스도인이라면 그리스도인 답게 행해야(살아야)한다고 말합니다. 그분(예수님)이 행하셨던 것처럼 행하십시오.

LIVE AS A CHRISTIAN

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God (1 John 3:9 NKJV).

To properly understand the verse of scripture above, you’ll have to study it in the right context. The purpose of that verse is actually in the 6th verse of the preceding chapter and it says, “…He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:6 NKJV). Notice it doesn’t say, “He who says he abides in Him walks just as He walked.” Rather, it says if you’re a Christian, you ought to walk (live) as a Christian; walk as He (Jesus) walked.

Now, Romans 8:6 tells us, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” He’s teaching us here to walk in the Spirit. He says, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16). These are all instructions and guidance given to us in the Word of God.

Romans 6:1-2 says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” No Christian is at liberty to do wrong. You were called to display righteousness; to walk in His rightness. The life that we have in Christ is sin-free. However, in your walk of faith, it’s possible to make mistakes; so, the Bible says, “…the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). He prepared for us automatic cleansing.

What He expects is that you yield yourself to the Word, to be taught, to be guided in righteousness.Through the Word, you’d discover that you’re cleansed from all unrighteousness (John 15:3), and have the capacity to live sin-free. Praise God!

PRAYER
Precious Father, I thank you for your grace and the power of your righteousness at work in me! I yield myself to the Word, to be taught, to be guided in righteousness. Sin has no dominion over me. I have the rightness of God in my spirit and it’s expressed in my thoughts, words and actions, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Enjoying Life’s Journey

“도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라”(요 10:10)

저는 항상 비행기를 탈 때 창가 자리를 좋아합니다. 창가 자리는 멋진 경관을 즐길 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 얼음으로 뒤덮인 북극, 반짝거리는 알프스 봉우리, 안데스 산맥, 구름 등 높은 고도에서만 볼 수 있는 것들로 인해 영감을 받는 특별한 기회를 선사합니다. 저는 언제나 하나님의 창조의 아름다움과 경이로움을 만끽하면서 “복되신 하나님, 당신은 놀라운 분이십니다! 너무나도 아름다운 것들이 많습니다!”라고 말합니다.

그렇게 저는 목적지에 도착하기 전까지 여정을 즐깁니다. 인생도 그렇습니다. 인생은 우리가 즐겨야 하는 여행입니다. 지금부터 주님이 다시 오실 때까지 누릴 것들이 많이 있습니다. 그러므로 누구도 좌절하는 삶을 살아서는 안됩니다. 당신 주위에 있는 사람들과 모든 아름다운 것들에 관심을 갖고 그것들을 누리는 방법을 배운다면 당신은 날마다 행복하게 살 것입니다.

사소한 것에서도 삶을 즐기겠다고 마음을 정하는 것은 매우 지혜로운 선택입니다. 어떤 사람들은 식사도 즐기지 않습니다. 그들은 항상 황급히 식사를 마칩니다. 어떤 사람들은 아침에 짜증을 내며 일어납니다. 운전을 하거나 그들의 직장, 사업, 혹은 학교로 갈 때에도 그들은 화가 나 있고 행복하지 않으며 짜증난 상태입니다. 그들은 주위에 있는 모든 사랑과 아름다움을 간과합니다.

오늘의 본문 구절을 다시 읽어보십시오. 예수님은 우리에게 생명을 주시고, 우리가 그 생명을 누리게 하시려고 오셨습니다! 삶을 즐긴다(enjoying life)는 것은 단순히 게임이나 코미디 프로그램을 보거나, 어떤 활동에 참여하는 것이 아닙니다. 그보다는 삶의 여정의 모든 순간을 누리는 것입니다. 당신이 하는 일이 경건한 삶과 일치하는 한, 그 모든 일을 즐기는 것입니다. 당신이 하나님의 자녀이고 하나님께서 당신을 통해 그분의 꿈을 이루신다는 것을 당신이 알기 때문입니다.

하나님은 당신에게 기쁨의 삶을 주셨습니다. 그러나 그 삶을 사는 책임은 당신에게 있습니다. 당신 안에 있는 하나님의 평안을 충만하게 나타내는 빛과 함께 주님의 기쁨이 당신의 삶에 명백히 드러나게 하십시오. 의식적으로 삶의 매 순간을 즐기기로 선택하십시오.

고백
주님은 내게 풍성하게 누릴 모든 것을 주셨습니다. 그분은 나를 기쁨과 영광이 충만한 안식의 삶으로 인도하셨습니다. 나에게 너무 과분한 것이란 없습니다. 나는 오늘 기쁨으로 충만하며, 그리스도 안에서 가지고 있는 의, 건강, 부, 번영, 성공의 위대한 삶을 삽니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

ENJOYING LIFE’S JOURNEY

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows) (John 10:10 AMPC).

I’ve always loved the window sitting on a flight. A window seat offers great views; it affords one the unique opportunity to be inspired by the things you see from such a high altitude: the icy expanse of the Arctic, the glistening peaks of the Alps, the Andes, the clouds, etc. Every so often, as I look out and savour the beauty and wonder of God’s creation, I say, “Blessed Father, you’re amazing! There’s so much beauty!” Thus, before arriving at my destination, I enjoy the journey. Life is that way too; a journey to be enjoyed.

Between now and when the Master comes back, there’s a lot to enjoy; therefore, no one should live a frustrated life. If you’d learn to pay attention to all the beautiful things and people around you, to enjoy them, you’d live happy every day.

It’s a wise choice when you make up your mind to enjoy your life and yourself even in simple things. Some don’t even enjoy their meals; they always rush it angrily. Others wake up angry; even while driving or commuting to their place of work, business or school, they’re angry, unhappy and frustrated. They ignore all the love and beauty around them.

Read our theme verse again: Jesus came that we may have and also enjoy life! Enjoying your life isn’t only about going for a game show, or watching a comedy, or engaging in some adventure. Rather, it means enjoying every moment of life’s journey; enjoying everything you do, as long as it’s consistent with a godly life, because you’re a child of God and you know God is fulfilling His dream through you. God has given you a life of joy, but you have the responsibility to express it. Let the joy of the Lord be evident in your life with such radiance that fully expresses the peace of God in you. Make a conscious choice to enjoy the moments of your life.

CONFESSION
The Lord has given me all things richly to enjoy. He’s brought me into a life of rest, full of joy and glory. Nothing is too good for me. I’m full of joy today, living the great life of righteousness, health, wealth, prosperity and success that I have in Christ. Glory to God!

Look Beyond Your Past

많은 사람들이 미래를 더 위대한 성공을 위한 소망과 기회로 바라보기보다는 어제의 실수에 짓눌려서 과거에 대해 불평하거나 투덜거립니다. 어제 당신이 어떤 적대적인 말을 들었든지, 일이 일어났든지, 쓰여 졌든지 상관없습니다. 당신의 밝고 영광스러운 미래를 보십시오. 현재와 미래에 집중하십시오.

지나가 버린 어제에 사는 사람들은 때때로 좌절할 뿐만 아니라 진정한 기쁨을 경험할 수 없습니다. 당신과 관련된 것들에서 어제의 실수와 오해에 초점을 맞추는 것을 거절하십시오. 어제에는 그 어떤 아름다움이나 영광이 없습니다. 그러므로 어제의 경험에 근거해서 삶을 살아가지 마십시오.

LOOK BEYOND YOUR PAST

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing… (Isaiah 43:18-19).

Many gripe and grumble about their past, weighed down by the mistakes of yesterday, instead of looking at the future with the hope and opportunities it presents for greater success. It makes no difference what was said, done or written against you yesterday; see your bright and glorious future ahead.

Focus on the present and the future. Those who live in yesterday are often frustrated and can’t experience true joy. In your relationships, refuse to focus on the mistakes and misgivings of yesterday. There’s no beauty or glory in yesterday; therefore, refuse to live your life on the basis of yesterday’s experiences.

Someone may say, “Now that I have this new job, I don’t want what happened to me in the past to happen again. I’m going to be very careful.” Then, as a result of being too careful to avoid whatever negative experience they might have had in the past, their productivity falls short of their actual capacity. Their best is unseen and unheard because they’ve allowed their past experiences to guide their lives.

Let the Word of God, not your past experiences, guide you. Be inspired by the joy and inspiration of a better and more glorious tomorrow. Our theme verse says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old….” What’s that terrible experience that wouldn’t leave your mind? Let it go!

Neither the accomplishments nor failures of yesterday should make you a captive of your past. Rather, armed with the Word and with faith in your heart, apprehend the glorious future the Lord has ordained for you, and He’ll do new and greater things through you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for renewing my mind through your Word and enlightening my spirit to see and walk in my glorious future. I refuse to be held back by yesterday’s experiences, for my path is as a shining light, shining brighter and brighter, for your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

성령님의 단순한 지시
Simple Instructions Of The Spirit

“그러나 하나님께서 세상의 미련한 것들을 택하사 지혜 있는 자들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시고 세상의 약한 것들을 택하사 강한 것들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시며”(고전 1:27)

하나님의 말씀은 너무나 단순합니다. 그분의 지시는 사소해 보일 수도 있지만 그 지시대로 행한다면 항상 초자연적인 결과를 만들어냅니다. 주일 예배 때 목사님이 회중들에게 “세 사람에게 ‘나는 복을 받았고 승리합니다’라고 말하십시오.”라고 말했다고 상상해보십시오. 당신은 “난 저거 안 해도 될 것 같은데.”라고 생각할 수도 있습니다. 왜 그렇습니까? 큰 의미가 없어 보이는 너무 단순한 지시이기 때문입니다. 많은 사람들이 이 부분을 놓칩니다. 오늘의 본문 구절은 하나님께서 단순하고 작은 것들로 강한 것들을 물리치신다고 말합니다.

생각해보십시오. 하나님이 이스라엘 백성을 그들을 억압하던 애굽 사람들의 손에서 건져 내셨을 때, 그분은 이스라엘 백성을 가장 상식적인 길로 인도하지 않으셨습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “그러므로 하나님이 홍해의 광야 길로 돌려 백성을 인도하시매…”(출 13:18) 그러고 나서 홍해와 적군 사이에 갇힌 모세는 하나님이 개입하시도록 “기도”하기 시작했습니다. 그러나 하나님은 모세를 멈추시고 “지팡이를 들고 손을 바다 위로 내밀어 그것이 갈라지게 하라…”(출 14:16)고 말씀하셨습니다.

모세가 당면한 엄청난 문제에 대한 하나님의 단순한 지시를 생각해보십시오! 그것은 “상식적”이지 않았습니다. 어떻게 그런 중요한 순간에 바다에서 지팡이를 드는 행동으로 변화를 일으킬 수 있습니까? 그러나 실제로 변화가 일어났습니다! 모세가 지시에 순종하자 바다가 갈라지고 이스라엘 백성들은 마른 땅 위를 걸었습니다. 할렐루야! 하나님은 오늘도 그런 식으로 일하십니다. 그분은 단순한 지시를 주십니다.

또한 주님이 행하신 일을 보십시오. 그분은 손이 마른 사람에게 말씀하셨습니다. “네 손을 펴라”(마 12:13). 어떻게 그 남자가 마른 손을 펼 수 있었습니까? 그는 “선생님, 이 손이 마른 것이 보이지 않으십니까?”라고 불평할 수도 있었습니다. 그러나 그는 불평하지 않았습니다. 오히려 그는 주님의 단순한 지시를 행했고, 성경은 마른 손이 “다른 손과 같이 회복되어 성하더라”고 기록합니다.

주님으로부터 온 지시가 너무 단순하게 들릴 수도 있겠지만, 그것은 당신의 유익을 위해 주어진 것입니다. 예를 들어, 당신이 교회에 있다면 성령님의 임재를 인식하는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 지시가 주어지면 순종하십시오. 하나님은 언제나 우리를 축복하시고 우리의 삶을 영광에서 영광으로 발전시킬 기회를 찾으십니다. 그리고 대부분의 그런 축복들은 성령님의 단순한 지시로 옵니다.

 

기도
사랑하는 아버지, 당신의 말씀을 통해 인도해 주셔서 감사드립니다. 내 심령은 당신의 말씀과 성령님으로부터 오는 지시에 주의를 기울입니다. 당신의 인도는 내가 상황과 도전을 이기게 하고, 나를 성공과 승리와 탁월함과 영광의 길로 이끌어 주십니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE SPIRIT

But God chose the foolish things of this world to put the wise to shame. He chose the weak things of this world to put the powerful to shame
(1 Corinthians 1:27 CEV).

God’s Word is so simple. His instructions may sound or seem trifling, but when carried out, they always produce the supernatural. Imagine that while in Church on a service day the Pastor says, “Tell three people, ‘I’m blessed and victorious.’” You might say to yourself, “I don’t have to do that.” Why? It sounds too simple to mean anything. But that’s where many have missed it. Our theme verse says God confounds the mighty with simple, little things.

Think about this: when God delivered the children of Israel from the hands of their oppressors, the Egyptians, He didn’t lead them on the road that made the most sense. The Bible says, “Instead, he led them in a roundabout way through the desert toward the Red Sea…” (Exodus 13:18 GNB). Then, trapped between the Red sea and an invading army, Moses began to “pray” to God for intervention. But God interrupted him and said, “Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it…”(Exodus 14:16 AMPC).

Consider the simple instruction given to Moses for a problem of such magnitude! It didn’t make “common sense.” How could stretching forth your rod over the sea make any difference at such a critical time? But it did! Moses obeyed the instruction, the sea parted and the children of Israel walked through on dry ground. Hallelujah! God is still that way today. He gives simple instructions.

Also see the example of the Master: He said to a man with a withered arm, “…Stretch forth thine hand…” (Matthew 12:13). How could the man stretch forth the same hand that was withered? He could have complained, “Sir, can’t you see it’s withered?” But he didn’t; rather, he acted on that simple instruction and the Bible says the hand “was restored whole, like as the other.” An instruction from the Lord, however simple, is for your benefit. When you’re in church for example, a consciousness of the presence of the Holy Spirit is so important. When instructions are given, comply. God always seeks opportunities to bless and improve our lives from glory to glory and many of such blessings are packaged in simple instructions of the Spirit.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the counsel I receive from your Word. My heart is attentive to the instructions from your Word and the Holy Spirit. Your guidance puts me over circumstances and challenges of life, to lead me in the path of success, victory, excellence and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
