Established In The Truth
“그러므로 내가 첫째로 권하노니 모든 사람을 위하여 간구와 기도와 도고와 감사를 하되 임금들과 높은 지위에 있는 모든 사람을 위하여 하라 이는 우리가 모든 경건과 단정함으로 고요하고 평안한 생활을 하려 함이라 이것이 우리 구주 하나님 앞에 선하고 받으실 만한 것이니 하나님은 모든 사람이 구원을 받으며 진리를 아는 데에 이르기를 원하시느니라”(딤전 2:1-4)
오늘의 본문 구절에서 “아는 데(지식)”로 번역된 헬라어 단어는 “에피그노시스(epignosis)”입니다. 이는 완전하고 정확한 지식을 의미합니다. 하나님께서는 모든 사람이 구원을 받고, 진리에 대한 완전하고 정확한 지식에 이르기를 원하십니다. 이것이 가능하지 않았다면 하나님께서는 오늘의 본문 구절처럼 말씀하지 않으셨을 것입니다. 이것은 하나님의 갈망입니다.
이는 또한 하나님께서 교회에 사역자들과 사역들을 선물로 주신 이유입니다. “그가 어떤 사람은 사도로, 어떤 사람은 선지자로, 어떤 사람은 복음 전하는 자로, 어떤 사람은 목사와 교사로 삼으셨으니 이는 성도를 온전하게 하며 봉사의 일을 하게 하며 그리스도의 몸을 세우려 하심이라 우리가 다 하나님의 아들을 믿는 것과 아는 일에 하나가 되어 온전한 사람을 이루어 그리스도의 장성한 분량이 충만한 데까지 이르리니”(엡 4:11-13)
하나님께서는 당신이 하나님의 아들에 대한 믿음과 지식이 높은 수준, 즉 주님 안에서 성숙하고 장성한 분량에 이를 때까지 말씀 안에서 건축되고 세워지기를 원하십니다. 당신이 그리스도와 성령의 일들 안에서 발전하고 말씀에 대한 계시 지식이 증가함에 따라 상황을 다스리고 이 세상을 초월하여 살 것입니다.

예를 들어, 시편 87:3은 다음과 같이 말합니다. “하나님의 성이여 너를 가리켜 영광스럽다 말하는도다” 그리고 시편 50:2은 “온전히 아름다운 시온에서 하나님이 빛을 비추셨도다”고 말합니다. 할렐루야! 하나님께서는 암, 당뇨병, 신부전, 가난, 세상의 그 어떤 부정적인 것들이 아닌 당신을 통해 빛을 비추십니다. 당신은 완벽한 아름다움입니다.
거울 앞에 서서 자신을 바라보며 이렇게 말하십시오. “나는 내가 누구인지 압니다. 내 안에 계신 이가 세상에 있는 자보다 크십니다. 내 삶은 하나님의 영광을 위한 것입니다. 그리스도께서 내 안에 사시기 때문입니다.” 이러한 진리 안에 세워지십시오. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내게 추측, 의구심, 불확실성이 아닌 아버지의 말씀에 대한 완전하고 정확한 지식을 주시니 감사합니다. 나는 나의 모든 노력 가운데 지혜와 지식의 영으로 말미암아 기능하고, 모든 선한 일에 열매를 맺습니다. 그리스도는 내 삶의 영광이며, 그분의 영광으로 나는 날마다 승리하며 다스립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

ESTABLISHED IN THE TRUTH
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
The Greek word translated “knowledge” in the verse above is “epignosis.” It means full, exact or precise knowledge. God wants all men to be saved, and to come to the full, exact or precise knowledge of the truth. If this weren’t possible, He wouldn’t have said so. This is His desire.
It’s also the reason He set ministers and ministries in place as gifts to the Church: “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”
God wants you built up and established in the Word, until you come to such a high level of faith and knowledge of the Son of God—mature and fully grown in the Lord. As you develop in Christ and in the things of the Spirit, and as you increase in the revelation knowledge of the Word, you’re able to tame circumstances and live above the elements of this world.
When you have precise knowledge of the truth—the truth about Christ and what He’s done for you, and in you—your life will be an endless stream of peace, joy, and victories. Get to know the truth.
For example, Psalm 87:3 says, “Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God.” Then in Psalm 50:2, the Bible says, “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.” Hallelujah! God shines through you, not cancer, diabetes, kidney failure, poverty or any of the negativities of the world. You’re the perfection of beauty.
When you stand in front of the mirror, look at yourself and say, “I know who I am; Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. My life is for the glory of God because Christ lives in me.” Be established in these truths. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for granting me absolute and exact knowledge of your Word, far removed from assumptions, doubts and uncertainties. I function by the Spirit of wisdom and knowledge in all my endeavours, fruitful in every good work. Christ is the glory of my life and by His grace, I reign triumphantly every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
