하나님의 의에 순종하십시오

Submit To His Righteousness

“이에 성경에 이른 바 아브라함이 하나님을 믿으니 이것을 의로 여기셨다는 말씀이 이루어졌고 그는 하나님의 벗이라 칭함을 받았나니”(약 2:23)

의는 여러가지 적용과 정의가 있다는 사실을 아는 것은 아주 중요합니다. 그러나 무엇보다도 의는 하나님의 본성, 즉 그분의 올바름(rightness)의 본성입니다. 하나님의 본성은 여러 관점에서 표현될 수 있는데, 예를 들어 우리가 “하나님은 사랑이십니다”라고 말하는 것과 같으며, 사랑은 그분의 본성입니다. 그러나 우리가 의에 대해서 이야기할 때, 우리는 그분의 또다른 본성에 대해 말하고 있는 것입니다.

하나님의 본성으로서 의는 그분이 언제나 옳으시며 오로지 옳은 일만 행하실 수 있는 능력을 뜻합니다. 이것은 그분의 완벽함이자 정확함이며 영광 안에서의 탁월함입니다. 고로, 이 의는 사람이나 어떤 피조물도 절대 얻을 수 없는 것입니다. 그러므로 하나님은 그분의 자비로우심 안에서 우리에게 일종의 의인 “바로 설 수 있음(right standing)”을 부여하고 자격을 주셨습니다.

당신은 아마 몇몇 나라에서 사용하는 “적합성 인증서(certificate of conformity)”라는 것을 들어본 적 있을 것입니다. 이 개념이 의나 올바른 위치가 무엇인지 이해하는 것을 도와줄 것입니다. 적합성 인증서는 어떠한 제품이 정부나 인증된 기관의 기준이나 사양을 맞추었는지 명시하는 문서입니다. 또한 “양호 상태 확인서(certificate of good standing)”라는 것도 있는데, 이는 어떤 회사가 지방정부에 잘 등록되어 있고, 세금 납부나 서류 제출 기한도 늦지 않아 그 지역에서 계속해서 사업을 꾸려 나가기에 합법적인 허락을 받았음을 증명하는 문서입니다.

이제, 바로 설 수 있다는 것(right standing)은 적합성 인증서나 양호 상태 확인서와 같이, 하나님 앞에서 그분에게 받아들여질 수 있는 능력을 뜻합니다. 우리는 두려움이나 수치심 없이 하나님과 교제할 수 있습니다. 가장 아름다운 것은, 그분은 당신이 필요한 “서류들”을 작성하여 제출하기를 기다리지 않으시고 먼저 그 기준을 만족시켰다는 것입니다. 하나님은 당신을 의롭다고 선포하셨습니다. 왜냐하면 예수님이 당신을 대신해 모든 일을 하셨기 때문입니다.

오늘의 본문 구절을 다시 떠올려보십시오. “아브라함이 하나님을 믿으니 이것을 의로 여기셨다는 말씀이 이루어졌고…” 하나님은 아브라함이 믿었으므로 그에게 바로 설 수 있는 자격을 주셨습니다. 마찬가지로, 의는 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 믿음의 결과로서 당신에게 전이되었습니다. 이것은 하나님의 선물입니다. 누군가가 예수 그리스도의 주되심에 복종하는 순간 효력이 발생하는, 모든 사람들을 향한 은혜의 선물입니다.

SUBMIT TO HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God (James 2:23).

It’s so important to understand that there’re several broad applications and definitions of righteousness. But righteousness, first and foremost, is the nature of God, His nature of rightness. The nature of God can be described from different perspectives, like we say, “God is love”; so, love is His nature. But when we talk about righteousness, that’s a different nature we’re describing.

Righteousness as God’s nature is His ability to be right and do right only and always. It’s His perfection, accuracy and distinction in glory. Righteousness distinguishes God in glory from everyone else. Now, this righteousness is absolutely unattainable by man or any creature. Therefore, in God’s benevolence, He attributes, bestows or imputes to us a kind of righteousness which is called “Right standing.”

You may have heard what in some countries is called “a certificate of conformity”; it’ll help you understand what righteousness or right standing is. It stipulates that a particular product meets the required standards or specification of the government or authorized agency. There’s also the “certificate of good standing,” which certifies that a company is properly registered with the state and it’s up to date on all state

levies and required documentations, and therefore legally permitted to engage in business activities in the state.

Now, right standing, like the certificate of good conduct or good standing is the ability to stand before God and be accepted. Now we can fellowship with Him, unafraid and unashamed. The most beautiful part is that He didn’t wait for you to have “complied” or “filed” the necessary “documentations” and meet all the required standards first; He declared you righteous because of what Jesus did in your behalf.

Recall we read in our theme verse that “…

Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness….” God gave Abraham the certificate of right standing for believing. Likewise, righteousness was imparted to you as a result of your faith in Jesus Christ. It’s the gift of God?a gift of grace imparted to all men, which becomes effectual the moment one submits to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

CONFESSION

By grace, I’ve received God’s nature of righteousness and I’ve been translated into the Kingdom of His Love-Son, where I reign and rule with Him. I have dominion over the devil and circumstances, and I live in the righteousness of God, and live as the righteousness of God. Nothing, and no one, can condemn me anymore, because God has justified and acquitted me. Glory to God!

Put Your Body In Subjection

절제는 그리스어 “엥크라테이아(egkrateia)”에서 비롯되었으며, “자기 통제” 즉 장기적인 이익을 위해 순간적인 만족감을 참으며 충동을 제어하고자 하는 의지나 능력을 의미합니다. 단순하게 말하자면, 당신의 충동에 “안돼” 혹은 “지금은 아니야”라고 말하며 참고 기다릴 수 있는 능력입니다.

이것은 모세가 파라오의 집에서 왕자로 자라온 이후에 보여준 성품(virtue)입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “…그가 장성하였을 때에, 파라오의 딸의 아들로 대접받기를 거절하였습니다. 그는 잠깐 동안의 죄의 낙을 누리는 것 대신 하나님의 백성과 함께 고난 받기를 택하였습니다”(히 11:24-25, NLT). 어떤 사람들은 물을 것입니다. “저에게 절제함이 없으면 어떡합니까?”

거듭났다면, 당신은 절제의 성품을 가지고 있습니다. 성경은 그것이 재창조된 인간의 영의 열매라고 말합니다(갈 5:22-23). 이 성품을 가지고 효과적으로 기능하기 원하는 사람은 누구든지 그의 감각을 제어하는 법을 배워야 합니다. 그리고 그것은 당신의 몸을 훈련함으로 얻을 수 있습니다.

또한 당신이 금식할 때, 금식을 시작한 지 한 시간도 안 되어서 음식을 찾지 마십시오. 금식의 본질 중 일부는 당신의 몸을 당신의 영에 복종시키기 위해 본능적인 욕구를 부인하는 것입니다. 당신은 충동을 제어하며, 몸을 지배하고, 몸에게 명령을 내릴 수 있는 능력과 의지가 있습니다.

고백

PUT YOUR BODY IN SUBJECTION

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness (2 Peter 1:5-6).

Temperance is from the Greek word “egkrateia” and it means self-control, the ability and will to control your impulses, to delay immediate gratification for a long-term gain. That simply means the ability to wait or hold on, saying “no” or “not now” to your impulses.

This was the virtue Moses displayed after he had been raised as a prince in Pharaoh’s house. The Bible says, “…when he grew up, refused to be treated as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin” (Hebrews 11:24-25 NLT).

“What if I don’t have temperance?” someone may ask.

As long as you’re born again, you have the virtue of temperance. The Bible says it’s the fruit of the recreated human spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). The man who desires to operate effectively with this virtue must learn to control his senses. And that can be achieved by training your body.

You have to discipline your body; break it the way you break a horse until it does what you say, not you doing what it says. If your body can’t be subject to you, then it means you’re a slave to your body. And you can’t do anything serious for the Lord if you’re body-ruled.

In 1 Corinthians 9:27, Paul said, “…I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection….” For instance, you can decide you’ll not sleep whenever you’re in church, or whenever you’re studying the Bible or listening to God’s Word; that’s temperance.

Also, when you fast; don’t find yourself going for food barely an hour into the fast. Part of the essence of a fast is to deny yourself the natural cravings in order to put your body in subjection to your spirit. You have the ability and will to control your impulses, to subdue your body and tell it what to do, and it’ll comply.

CONFESSION

I’m a soldier in God’s army, and I’ve crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Therefore, I keep my body under, and bring it into subjection. I have the ability and will to control my impulses, to delay immediate gratification for a long-term gain, to the glory of God. I tell my body what to do, and it complies! Hallelujah!

Put The Kingdom First

“내가 디모데를 속히 너희에게 보내기를 주 안에서 바람은 너희의 사정을 앎으로 안위를 받으려 함이니 이는 뜻을 같이하여 너희 사정을 진실히 생각할 자가 이밖에 내게 없음이라 그들이 다 자기 일을 구하고 그리스도 예수의 일을 구하지 아니하되”(빌 2:19-21)

몇 년 전에 위의 본문 구절을 접했을 때, 이 구절이 저의 눈길을 사로잡았습니다. 바울은 빌립보에 있는 교회에 대해 심히 걱정하고 있었고 그들에게 사역하고자 했습니다. 그러나 그는 감옥에 있었기 때문에 그들을 개인적으로 방문할 수 없었습니다. 그래서 바울은 그들에게 “디모데가 내가 보낼 수 있는 자이다. 왜냐하면 다른 이들은 모두 자기의 것을 구하고 예수 그리스도의 것을 구하지 않기 때문이다.”라고 말했습니다. 이 얼마나 놀라운 계시입니까!

오늘날 교회 안에는 이러한 자들이 많습니다. 그들은 자기의 것을 구하고 그들 자신을 위해서 삽니다. 그들은 이기적입니다. 하지만 성경은 고린도후서 5:15에서 “그가 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽으심은 살아 있는 자들로 하여금 다시는 그들 자신을 위하여 살지 않고 오직 그들을 대신하여 죽었다가 다시 살아나신 이를 위하여 살게 하려 함이라”고 말합니다.

이기적인 사람들은 진리 가운데 걸을 수 없고, 진정으로 사랑 가운데 행할 수 없습니다. 이기심은 하나님의 말씀과 반대입니다. 당신이 무엇인가 하고 싶다는 꿈이 있을 때, 심지어 그것이 당신이 하나님을 위하여 하는 것일 때에도, 당신의 진짜 동기가 무엇인지 스스로에게 물어보는 것은 중요합니다. 당신은 아마 하나님을 사랑하는 것과 당신 자신을 사랑하는 것, 예수님을 섬기는 것과 나의 관심사를 이루는 것 사이에서 고민하고 있는 자신을 발견할 것입니다.

이것이 바울이 이야기하고 있는 것입니다. 그는 그와 함께 있던 여러 사람들 중 디모데 만을 빌립보 교회에 보낼 수 있었습니다. 바울은 디모데가 순수한 심령으로 자기의 것을 구하지 않고, 사랑 안에서 그 일을 해낼 것이라고 확신했습니다. 바울은 그 당시 빌립보 교회 뿐 아니라 우리도 배울 수 있도록 이 일을 기록했습니다.

마태복음 6:33에서 예수님은 비슷한 내용을 말씀하셨습니다. “그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라.” 그분은 첫 번째로 하나님의 왕국을 구하고, 그 다음엔 당신이 다른 것들을 구해도 된다고 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 왕국을 의식하라고 하셨습니다. 왕국의 확장과 하나님의 의를 세우는 일을 추구하십시오. 이것을 가장 우선순위로 놓으십시오. 그러면 당신은 삶에서 다른 어떠한 것에 대해서도 고군분투할 필요가 없을 것입니다.

당신의 삶을 걸고 하나님을 신뢰하십시오. 순수한 심령으로 그분을 섬기고, 당신을 영광에서 영광으로 쏘아 올리시는 하나님을 보십시오.

기도

사랑하는 주님, 위로와 훈계가 되는 당신의 말씀에 감사합니다. 나는 매일 목적을 가지고 살아가며, 당신의 영광을 위해 나의 삶으로 당신을 섬깁니다. 나는 다른 모든 것 위에 왕국의 확장을 가장 우선으로 놓습니다. 나는 사랑 가운데 온전한 마음으로 기꺼이 당신을 섬깁니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

PUT THE KINGDOM FIRST

But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s (Philippians 2:19-21).

When I came across the scripture above many years ago, it caught my attention. Paul was deeply concerned about the church in Philippi, and desired to minister to them. But he couldn’t personally visit them, because he was in prison. Then he said to them, “Timothy is the one that I can send to you, because the others seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s. How enlightening!

There’re many like that in the Church today; they seek their own and live unto themselves; they’re selfish.

Yet, the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:15, “…that he (Christ) died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

Selfish people can’t walk in truth, and can’t truly walk in love. Selfishness is contrary to the Word of God.

When you have a dream for something you want to do, even if it’s something you want to do for God, it’s important you ask yourself what your real motivation is. You may find yourself struggling between the love of God and the love of yourself, struggling between serving Jesus and serving your interests.

That’s what Paul was referring to; He could only pick Timothy, of the several people he had with him, to send to the Philippian church. Paul was convinced Timothy would do the work from a pure heart; he’d do it selflessly, in love. Paul was writing, not just for that day but also for us to learn.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus communicated a similar thought when He said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” He didn’t say the first of the things you should seek is the Kingdom of God and after that you can seek other things. No; He said be Kingdom-conscious; pursue Kingdom expansion and the establishment of God’s righteousness; put that first, and you’ll never need to struggle for anything in life.

Trust God with your life; serve Him with a pure heart, and watch Him take you from glory to glory.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank you for your words of counsel and admonition. I live every day purposefully, serving you with my life, for your glory. Above everything else, I put the expansion of the Kingdom first, serving you in love, with a perfect heart and a willing mind, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Be Conscious Of The Spiritual

“근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니”(벧전 5:8)

누가복음 13장에서 몸이 굽은 여자가 회당으로 들어왔습니다. 성경은 그녀가 18년 동안 허리를 펴지 못했다고 말합니다. 그러나 예수님은 그녀의 문제가 영적인 것임을 아셨습니다. 그래서 예수님은 그곳에 있는 사람들에게 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. “…그러면 열여덟 해 동안 사탄에게 매인 바 된 이 아브라함의 딸을 안식일에 이 매임에서 푸는 것이 합당하지 아니하냐”(눅 13:16).

그녀를 묶고 있던 것이 연약함의 영이었다고 누가 생각했겠습니까? 의사들은 그녀의 뼈, 근육, 힘줄, 또는 인대에 무슨 일이 일어났는지 알아내기 위해 별 소득 없는 검진을 계속했을 것입니다. 그러나 예수님은 이것이 연약함의 영이었다는 사실을 분별하셨습니다.

당신이 영적인 분별력을 갖는 것은 중요합니다. 영의 생각을 하십시오. 당신 안에는 살아 계신 성령님이 계십니다. 그분은 지식의 영이십니다. 그분이 당신의 영 안에 가져다 주시는 계시와 이해를 통해, 당신은 어떠한 상황에 대해서도 진리를 알 수 있습니다. 이러한 방식으로 당신은 언제나 특정한 문제와 상황 뒤에 무엇이 있는지 알 수 있습니다.

또한, 당신은 그저 문제의 배후에 무엇이 있고 그것이 영적인 것임을 아는 것만으로는 충분하지 않습니다. 예수님이 어떻게 하셨는지 보고 배우십시오. 성경은 말합니다. “예수께서 보시고 불러 이르시되 여자여 네가 네 병에서 놓였다 하시고 안수하시니 여자가 곧 펴고 하나님께 영광을 돌리는지라”(눅 13:12-13). 할렐루야!

예수님은 그녀가 마귀에게 사로잡혔다고 하셨고, 만약 그분의 진단이 틀렸다면, 그분의 처방이나 대처가 아무런 결과를 가져오지 않았을 것입니다. 예수님은 언제나 문제를 영적인 관점에서 해석하고 처리하셨습니다. 마찬가지로, 당신도 영적이며 영의 생각을 해야 합니다. 하나님의 영에 귀를 기울이십시오. 말씀을 공부하고 묵상하십시오. 영 안에서 자주 기도하십시오. 그러면 당신의 영적인 기민함과 예민함이 언제나 최상의 수준에 머무를 것입니다.

고백

나의 지각의 눈이 빛으로 가득하고, 나는 언제나 영적인 영역을 의식합니다. 내가 방언을 말할 때, 나는 성령으로 충만해지며 나의 영적인 기민함과 예민함이 최상의 수준에 머무릅니다. 내 입에 있는 하나님의 말씀과 예수 이름을 가지고, 나는 상황과 사탄과 이 세상을 다스립니다. 할렐루야!

BE CONSCIOUS OF THE SPIRITUAL

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

In Luke 13, a woman who was bent double came into the synagogue; the Bible says for eighteen years she couldn’t straighten up herself. But Jesus knew her problem was spiritual. So He said to those present, “…ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?”

(Luke 13:16).

Who could have thought it was a spirit of infirmity that held her bound? Medical doctors would have been trying to find out what happened to her bones, the muscles, the tendons, or her ligaments?carrying out futile tests. But Jesus discerned that it was a spirit of infirmity.

It’s important that you’re spiritually discerning;

be spiritually minded. You have the Holy Spirit living in you; He’s the Spirit of knowledge. Through the revelation and enlightenment He brings to your spirit, you can know the truth about any situation. He’s the Spirit of truth, and part of His ministry in your life is to guide you into all truth. That way, you can always tell what’s behind a particular problem or situation.

It’s also not enough to simply know what’s behind the problem or that a case is spiritual. Learn from what Jesus did; the Bible says, “And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God” (Luke 13:12-13). Hallelujah!

Jesus said the woman was bound by the devil, and if His diagnosis was wrong, His prescription or response would have yielded no result. Jesus always interpreted and dealt with issues from the spiritual standpoint. Likewise, you must be spiritual and spiritually minded. Listen to the Spirit of God; study and meditate on the Scriptures; pray often in the Spirit, and your spiritual alertness and sensitivity will be at its peak always.

CONFESSION

The eyes of my understanding are flooded with light, and I’m conscious of the spiritual realm always. As I speak in tongues, I’m filled with the Spirit and my spiritual alertness and sensitivity are at their peak.

And with the Word of God in my mouth and the Name of Jesus, I reign over circumstances, Satan and the world! Hallelujah!

오늘의 본문 구절에 나오는 “알게 하려 하심이니”이라는 표현은 그리스어로 “그노리조(gnorizo)”이며, 이는 “확실하게 하다”, “선언하다”, “알게 하다”, 또는 “이해하게 한다”는 뜻을 가지고 있습니다. 교회는 하나님에 의해 그분의 각종 지혜, 즉 다방면의 지혜를 내보이고 나타내도록 지어졌습니다. 이것은 엄청납니다!

이는 교회가 하늘에 있는 통치자들과 권세들에게 경이롭고 끝없는 하나님의 지혜를 알린다는 뜻입니다. 이것이 지금 우리 삶의 부르심입니다. 하나님은 그분의 능력과 지혜를 지금 우리를 통해 나타내길 원하십니다.

HIS WISDOM IN AND THROUGH US

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God (Ephesians 3:10).

The phrase “might be known” in the scripture above is “gn?riz?” in Greek, and it means to certify, declare, make known or give to understand.

The Church is designed by God to house, display or manifest the manifold?many-sided?wisdom of God.

This is huge!

It means the Church will make known to the principalities and powers in heavenly realms, the aweinspiring, endless, wisdom of God. This is our calling in the now of our lives; God seeks to demonstrate His power, His wisdom, through us NOW.

The question is, how is this possible? It’s pretty simple: He filled us with wisdom. 1 Corinthians 1:24 declares that Christ is the power and wisdom of God.

Christ in you is God’s great answer to all human need.

Christ in you is your glory and wisdom. Until you understand this, you may never take advantage of it.

That’s why there’re lots of Christians who act confused in life, walking in darkness, when they’re the light of the world.

Christ has been made unto you wisdom. Just as easily as you can say, “I’m the righteousness of God in Christ,” always be quick to affirm that this vital resource of divinity?divine wisdom?is deposited within the recesses of your human spirit and expressed in your daily walk.

Remember, being filled with the Holy Spirit means you’re filled with Christ, the wisdom of God. Even now, affirm boldly that Christ is your wisdom; you’re led and guided in wisdom; you speak wisdom and deal wisely in all your affairs. Glory to God!

CONFESSION

Christ is made unto me wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption! Therefore, I don’t lack wisdom, because Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, lives in me. I have access and insight into mysteries and secrets. Praise God!

The God-nature In You

“이로써 그 보배롭고 지극히 큰 약속을 우리에게 주사 이 약속으로 말미암아… 신성한 성품에 참여하는 자가 되게 하려 하셨느니라”(벧후 1:4)

모든 인간은 그가 동물보다 더 나은 존재라는 것에 대한 직관을 가지고 있으며, 그것이 맞습니다. 예수님은 정확한 하나님의 본성의 전형이자 하나님의 계시이며, 신성이 표현된 형상이자 하나님의 영광의 광채이십니다. 그분은 우리가 하나님의 계획과 목적과 기대를 볼 수 있도록 우리에게 살아있는 본이 되셨습니다.

성경은 말합니다. “태초에 말씀이 계시니라 이 말씀이 하나님과 함께 계셨으니 이 말씀은 곧 하나님이시니라”(요 1:4). 그리고 요한1서 5:11-12에는 이렇게 나와있습니다. “또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라.” 당신이 거듭났을 때, 신성한 생명이 당신의 영으로 전이되었습니다. 그 순간부터 당신은 신성한 본성에 참여한 자, 즉 하나님과 같은 부류가 되었습니다.

당신의 신성이 날아오르게 하십시오. 당신 안에 있는 하나님의 생명과 본성이 표현되게 하십시오. 그저 평범한 남자와 여자로 살지 마십시오. 그리스도께서 당신을 특별하게 만드셨기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

THE GOD-NATURE IN YOU

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature… (2 Peter 1:4).

Every man has an intuition that he’s more than an animal, and that’s correct. Jesus is the very embodiment of the divine nature, the very revelation of God, the express image of divinity, the outshining of God’s glory. He became a living example for us to see and to behold God’s plan, purpose, and expectation.

The Bible says, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4). Then we read in 1 John 5:11-12, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life….” When you were born again, the divine life was imparted to your spirit; from that moment, you became a partaker of the divine nature? an associate of the God-kind.

This is what men have always sought consciously and unconsciously! This is the mystery, testimony and power of Christianity: the reality of our oneness with Deity. The bane of many has been their ignorance of the power, import and impact of the divine life in them. They aren’t conscious that as Christians, we’re God carrying vessels, fully loaded with God!

Be awakened to this reality, so much so, it reflects in your language. If you’re still one to make statements such as, “I was scared to death”; or “That thing almost killed me,” then you haven’t come to the awareness that you’ve received the life and nature of God into your spirit! You don’t yet know who you are.

We don’t die! Life works in us. We don’t have the spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.

Being born again, you belong to a heavenly pantheon;

you’re in the God-class. The life in you can’t be tainted, corrupted or impaired by sickness, disease or death.

But because many don’t know this truth, they live as victims.

No wonder the psalmist lamented, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes” (Psalm 82:6-7). How sad! Let your divinity soar; give expression to the God-life, the God-nature in you. Don’t live as an ordinary man or woman, for Christ has made you extraordinary. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

Blessed be God; the life in me can’t be corrupted by sickness, disease or death; I’m absolutely indestructible, because I’m a partaker of the divine nature. Divinity is at work in me. Christ is my life and my glory. Amen.

“믿음의 선한 싸움을 싸우라 영생을 취하라 이를 위하여 네가 부르심을 받았고 많은 증인 앞에서 선한 증언을 하였도다”(딤전 6:12)

요한2서 1:1에서 성경은 말합니다. “장로인 나는 택하심을 받은 부녀와 그의 자녀들에게 편지하노니 내가 참으로 사랑하는 자요 나뿐 아니라 진리를 아는 모든 자도 그리하는 것은.” 누구도 요한과 같이 ‘진리’라는 단어를 사용하며 그것에 대해 쓴 사람이 없었습니다. 어째서 그는 진리에 대해 그렇게 말하고 싶어 하며 그것을 의식했을까요? 왜냐하면 그는 예수님이 “내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명”(요 14:6)이라고 말씀하셨을 때 이것을 이해했기 때문입니다.

당신이 자신의 건강, 가정, 재정, 사업 등에 관하여 무슨 말을 들었든지 상관없습니다. 그것이 하나님의 진리에 부합하지 않는다면 고려할 대상이 아닙니다. 진리는 물리적인 나타남이나 감각 지각과는 아무런 관련이 없습니다.

예를 들어, 당신이 진리를 안다면, 마귀가 당신에게 와서 암이나 다른 어떤 질병으로 죽을 것이라고 말해도 신경 쓰지 않을 것입니다. 마귀가 그러한 생각을 당신에게 속삭일 때, 하나님의 진리로 이렇게 반응함으로 그가 입을 다물게 하십시오. “예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 내 안에 거하고, 그분이 나의 죽을 몸도 살리신다! 성령께서 내 몸을 거닐고 계신다. 할렐루야!”

이것이 진리 안에서 걷는 것입니다! 당신의 삶에 절대로 허락해서는 안되는 것들이 있습니다. 바로 하나님으로부터 오지 않은 모든 것입니다. 왜냐하면 당신은 진리의 지식에 설득되었기 때문입니다. 그분의 이름에 영원히 영광을 드립니다!

기도

KNOW AND WALK IN TRUTH

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12).

In 2 John 1:1, the Bible says, “The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth.” Nobody wrote about the truth and the use of that word like John. Why was he so eager to talk, and so conscious, about the truth? He caught it when Jesus said, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6).

None of the other writers of the gospels quoted Jesus on that; but it was very important to John. In 3 John 1:1, he said, “The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.” Here, John calls the Gospel of Christ, the Truth.

Truth is reality. The Word of God that’s been given to us is truth: “…thy word is truth” (John 17:17). You can be as prosperous, healthy and successful as you want to be. What you need is to train your mind to stay on the truth of God’s Word always.

It doesn’t matter what you hear or what you’re being told; whether it’s about your health, family, finances, business, etc., as long as it doesn’t measure up to God’s truth, it’s not a factor. Truth has nothing to do with physical manifestations or sensory perceptions.

When you know truth, for instance, you won’t be bothered if the devil told you you were going to die of cancer or whatever disease. When he whispers such thoughts to you, silence his voice by responding with God’s truth: “The Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in me, and He has vitalized my mortal body! The Holy Ghost perambulates my body.

Hallelujah!”

That’s walking in the truth! There’re things you’d completely disallow in your life?everything that isn’t of God?because you’re compelled by the knowledge of the truth. Glory to His Name forever!

PRAYER

The truth of God is revealed in my spirit, and I’m walking in truth. I’ve become one with the truth.

I’m compelled by the knowledge of the truth to walk in God’s perfect will for my life and establish His righteousness in the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A Consciousness Of Your Divinity

A CONSCIOUSNESS OF YOUR DIVINITY

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life (1 John 5:13 NIV).

It’s important that you come into a consciousness of who you really are in Christ. You have to learn and recognize who and what Christ means to you and in you.

The thrust of John’s admonition in our theme verse is the word “know,” which is “eido?” (Greek), and it means awareness. So, John says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may have the awareness that you have eternal life.” You already believe; you already know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; you already know in the deepest recesses of your spirit that you have eternal life; but is it in your present-moment, every-day consciousness?

He’s talking about a certain kind of knowledge that affects your current behaviour, your current decisions and opinions. He wants your current actions to be guided by this knowledge. He wants you to know that you were born into eternity when you were born again. You have eternal life now. This is why Peter the Apostle stated in 2 Peter 1:3-4 that we’re associates of the God-kind: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:3-4).

With such awareness, when you face challenges, you’re unflustered, because you know who you are.

Meditate on the Word of this life, and it’ll promote health in your body. Be aware of your roots in Christ, your divine lineage and heritage. It should become part of the scope of your knowledge that your life is for the glory of God; you’re more than a conqueror.

CONFESSION

I know who I am! No matter the oppositions, challenges, or contrary winds that may come my way, I’m at peace, unflustered and in joy, because I know that I’m more than a conqueror. It has become part of the scope of my knowledge that my life is for the glory of God. I have the awareness of the hope of His calling in my life, and the inheritance He’s made available to me in Christ. Hallelujah!

Be Spiritually Discerning

“시험에 들지 않게 깨어 기도하라 마음에는 원이로되 육신이 약하도다 하시고”(마 26:41)

하나님은 “내 백성이 지식이 없으므로 망하는도다”(호 4:6)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 예수님은 “진리를 알지니 진리가 너희를 자유롭게 하리라”(요 8:32)고 말씀하셨습니다. 많은 사람들이 진리를 모르기 때문에 자신도 알지 못한 채 어두움 가운데 걷고 있습니다. 그들은 말씀을 알지 못합니다. 그들은 진심으로 진리를 찾고 있습니다. 그들은 하나님을 알고 싶어 하지만, 그 지식을 얻기 위해 잘못된 장소로 갑니다.

하나님의 영이 말씀하실 때, 하나님의 자녀는 그의 영 안에서 괴로워하지 않습니다. 오히려, 그는 세움을 받습니다. 당신은 어떤 음성이나 메시지를 들을 때, 그 메시지가 어떤 영에 의해 당신에게 전달되고 있는지 알아야 합니다. 많은 그리스도인들은 사탄의 음성을 듣고는 그것이 하나님의 음성이라고 오해합니다. 이는 그들에게 분별력이 없기 때문입니다.

기도

BE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNING

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).

God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6). And Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Many are walking in darkness without knowing, because they don’t know the truth;

they don’t know the Scriptures. They’re honestly seeking truth; they want to know God, but then they go to the wrong place for knowledge.

Just because you heard some people say, “Shout hallelujah and clap for Jesus,” doesn’t mean it’s a church of Jesus Christ. You’ve got to be spiritually discerning.

In Acts 16, while walking through the marketplace, Paul and Silas encountered a girl possessed with an evil spirit. The Bible says, “The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation” (Acts 16:17).

Wasn’t she stating a fact? She was! But the 18 th verse says, “…Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.”

What she was saying sounded nice, but she was being influenced by a spirit of divination. Paul discerned this, for as she spoke, he (Paul) was grieved in his spirit. When the Spirit of God speaks, a child of God isn’t grieved in his spirit; rather, you’re edified. When you hear a voice or a message, you have to know by what spirit such a message is coming to you. Many Christians have listened to the voice of Satan and mistaken it for God’s voice, because they were undiscerning.

We’re in the last days, and Jesus told us these things would happen; so He says, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation….” And in Matthew 10:16, He said, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” Then in Ephesians 5:15 AMP He tells us not to be ignorant, but to always discern the will of God: Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people.

PRAYER

Righteous Father, I thank you for conditioning my spirit, and granting me the ability to discern and walk in your perfect will always; your Word is the true light that gives me direction and guidance. And now, Lord, I pray for as many as are being swayed in the wrong direction, that they’d hear your voice today and follow the truth of the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Stronger Every Day

“내 아들아 그러므로 너는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 은혜 가운데서 강하고”(딤후 2:1)

말세 때만큼이나 주 안에서 강해지며 그분의 능력의 유익을 누리기에 좋은 시간은 없습니다. 당신은 영 안에서 강해져야 합니다. 사도 바울이 에베소에 있는 교회에 편지를 쓰며 말했습니다. “끝으로 너희가 주 안에서와 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여지고”(엡 6:10). 이것이 오늘날 우리에게 얼마나 중요한지요.

당신의 삶에서 시험의 때가 있을 것이며, 그 시험의 때에 당신은 반드시 주님 안에 있어야 합니다. 당신의 삶에 너무나 많은 일이 일어나고 있을 수 있습니다. 도전들은 너무나 치열하고, 폭풍은 격렬할 수 있습니다. 그러나 주 안에서와 그분의 은혜 안에서 강건하십시오. 그가 말했습니다. “내 아들아 그러므로 너는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 은혜 가운데서 강하고…”

맞습니다. 우리의 믿음의 여정에는 시험과 시련과 도전적인 시간들이 있습니다. 그러나 성경은 말합니다. “네가 만일 환난 날에 낙담하면 네 힘이 미약함을 보임이니라”(잠 24:10). 상황이 당신의 믿음에 도전할 때, 불평하고 겁쟁이처럼 움츠리는 것은 당신의 승진의 기회를 완전히 날려버리는 것입니다. 성령님이 야고보서 1:2에서 말씀하신 것을 기억하십시오. “내 형제들아 너희가 여러 가지 시험을 당하거든 온전히 기쁘게 여기라”(약 1:2). 그분은 우리의 영 안에 승리가 있다는 것을 아셨습니다.

어떠한 상황에도 압도당하지 마십시오. 왜냐하면 당신 안에 더 강한 분인 성령님이 계시기 때문입니다. 그리고 그분 안에서, 그분에 의해, 그분을 통해 당신은 이미 승리했습니다. “자녀들아 너희는 하나님께 속하였고 또 그들을 이기었나니 이는 너희 안에 계신 이가 세상에 있는 자보다 크심이라”(요일 4:4). 하나님을 찬양합니다!

STRONGER EVERY DAY

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2:1).

There’s no better time to be strong in the Lord, taking advantage of all His might, than in these last days. You have to be strong in the spirit. Paul the Apostle, in writing to the church in Ephesus, said,

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10). How important this is for us today.

There’ll be a time of testing in your life, and in that testing period, you must remain in the Lord. There may be so much happening in your life; the challenges may be fierce and the storms raging hard; but be strong in the Lord; in His grace. He said, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

The Word says in Matthew 10:22, “…he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” You have to not just finish but finish stronger than how you started.

That’s the path of the righteous; it’s “…like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day” (Proverbs 4:18 ESV).

In Christ, we get stronger; the glory continues to increase. It’s from faith to faith, glory to glory, and grace heaped upon grace. That’s the life He’s given us. As long as you’re strong in the Lord?keeping His Word in your heart and in your mouth?you’ll continually walk in victory and dominion.

Yes, there’re tests, trials and challenging times in our journey of faith, but the Bible says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small” (Proverbs 24:10). To gripe and cower when situations challenge your faith is to checkmate your chances of promotion.

Recall what the Spirit says in James 1:2: “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”

He knows that victory is in our spirit.

Never be overwhelmed by any situation, for there’s a strengthener in you?the Holy Spirit. And in Him, by Him, and through Him you’ve overcome: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:

because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Praise God!

PRAYER

Thank you, heavenly Father, for granting me, according to the riches of your glory, to be strengthened with might by your Spirit in my inner man. I’m continually strengthened from within and invigorated with miracle-working ability, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
