은혜에 의한 번영
Prosperity By Grace
“네 하나님 여호와를 기억하라 그가 네게 재물 얻을 능력을 주셨음이라 이같이 하심은 네 조상들에게 맹세하신 언약을 오늘과 같이 이루려 하심이니라”(신 8:18)
번영은 당신이 얼마나 금식을 하고 기도를 하느냐와 관련이 없습니다. 번영케 하는 것은 주님이 하시는 일입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “건축자가 버린 돌이 집 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되었나니 이는 여호와께서 행하신 것이요 우리 눈에 기이한 바로다”(시 118:22-23). 하나님이 당신을 부요하게 하시는 분입니다. 그분은 당신의 번영을 기뻐하십니다(시 35:27).
당신은 하나님이 당신의 번영을 원하시는지 질문할 필요가 없습니다. 그분은 당신이 인간의 계산법을 신뢰하는 것을 원하지 않으십니다. 번영은 그렇게 이루어지지 않습니다. 어느 기간 동안은 그렇게 하는 것이 잘 되어가는 것처럼 보이겠지만 그것은 오래가지 않습니다. 참되고 영원한 번영은 오직 은혜로만 주어집니다.
마가복음 10장에는 한 부자 청년의 이야기가 나오는데, 재물에 대한 그의 태도를 볼 수 있습니다. 그는 영생을 상속받기 위해서 그가 무엇을 해야 할지 알고 싶었습니다. 예수님께서 그에게 모든 계명을 지키라고 하셨습니다. 그러나 그는 “선생님이여, 이것은 내가 어려서부터 다 지켰나이다.”라고 말했습니다.
성경은 예수님이 그를 사랑으로 쳐다보시며 말씀하셨다고 말합니다. “가서 네게 있는 것을 다 팔아 가난한 자들에게 주라 그리하면 하늘에서 보화가 네게 있으리라 그리고 와서 나를 따르라 하시니”(막 10:20-21). 그때, 부자 청년이 슬퍼하며 가버렸습니다. 그는 그의 소유에 묶여 있었습니다. 성경은 그가 많은 재물을 가지고 있었다고 말합니다. 아니, 명확히 표현하자면 “그의 많은 재물이 그를 가지고” 있었습니다.
예수님이 그때 둘러 보시고 제자들에게 말씀하셨습니다. “재물이 있는 자는 하나님의 나라에 들어가기가 심히 어렵도다!”(막 10:23) 예수님은 그들이 구원은 그들의 돈이나 많은 소유에 있는 것이 아니라 하나님의 영에 의한 것임을 이해하도록 하셨습니다. 예수님은 그 부자 청년이 그의 신뢰를 그의 재물이 아니라, 재물을 주시는 분이신 하나님께 두길 바라셨습니다.
오늘 본문 구절은 말합니다. “네 하나님 여호와를 기억하라 그가 네게 재물 얻을 능력을 주셨음이라…” 당신의 번영은 어떤 사람이나 당신의 사업, 이 세상의 시스템, 정부, 경제에 달려있지 않고, 하나님께 달려있습니다. 번영은 하나님의 은혜에 의한 것입니다.
이제 당신은 왜 그분이 고린도후서 9:8에서 이렇게 말씀하셨는지 이해할 수 있습니다. “하나님이 능히 모든 은혜를 너희에게 넘치게 하시나니 이는 너희로 모든 일에 항상 모든 것이 넉넉하여 모든 착한 일을 넘치게 하게 하려 하심이라.” 하나님이 그분의 자녀들을 부요하게 하기 위해 주시는 능력은 영적인 능력이지, 정치적인 능력이나 경제적인 능력이 아닙니다. 그것은 하나님의 의로움을 전파하기 위해 그분이 모든 그리스도인들에게 부여한 능력입니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!
고백
내 삶의 목적은 이 땅과 세상 사람들의 심령에 하나님의 의를 세우는 것입니다. 그리고 나는 생명과 경건에 필요한 모든 축복을 받았습니다. 그러므로 나는 하나님의 계획을 진전시키고, 그분의 영광을 위해 나의 시간과 자원을 사용하여 그분의 의로우심을 따르는데 전념합니다. 아멘.

PROSPERITY BY GRACE
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth…
(Deuteronomy 8:18).
Prosperity has nothing to do with how hard you fast and pray; it’s the Lord’s doing. God is the One who prospers you. He delights in your prosperity (Psalm 35:27). You don’t have to wonder whether or not God wants you to prosper. He doesn’t want you to put your trust in step-by-step human calculations, because that won’t work. They may seem to work for some time, but they won’t last. True and lasting prosperity comes by grace.
A story is told in Mark 10, of a rich young ruler’s attitude to wealth. He wanted to know what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him to obey all the commandments; but he said, “Master, all these have I observed from my youth.” The Bible says Jesus looked at him with love, and said to him, “Go and sell all that you have, and give it to the poor, and come and follow me” (Mark 10:21). At that, the rich young ruler went away sad. He was tied to his possessions, for the Bible says he had great possessions; or as someone rightly put it: “his great possessions had him.”
Jesus then looked round about and said to His disciples, “…How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!” (Mark 10:23). Jesus was letting them understand that salvation wasn’t going to be by their money, or great possessions, but by the Spirit of God. Jesus wanted the rich young man to put his trust, not in his wealth, but in God, the giver of wealth.
Your prosperity isn’t dependent on any man, your business, the systems and governments of this world, or the economy, but on God. It’s by His grace. Now you can understand why He says in 2 Corinthians 9:8:
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” The power that God gives His children to get wealth is spiritual power, not political power or economic power. It’s the power He gives every Christian to propagate God’s righteous course. Praise God!
