하나님은 말씀으로 구원하십니다
He saves through Words

“…사람을 욥바에 보내어 베드로라 하는 시몬을 청하라 그가 너와 네 온 집이 구원 받을 말씀을 네게 이르리라”(행 11:13-14)

사도행전 11장을 통해 우리는 고넬료와 그의 가정이 거듭나게 된 통찰력이 돋보이는 사건을 발견할 수 있습니다. 고넬료는 신실하고 신앙심이 깊은 로마 백부장이었습니다. 그는 하나님을 경외하고 주기적으로 가난한 사람들에게 자선을 베풀었지만 아직 구원받지 못한 상태였습니다. 그러던 어느 날 천사가 그에게 나타나 베드로에게 가서 그와 그의 가정이 구원받을 말씀을 청하라고 했습니다.

하나님은 고넬료의 “선함“과 도덕적인 정직함을 아셨지만, 그것들은 그를 구원할 수 없었습니다. 천사가 그에게 구체적으로 말했습니다. “…네 기도와 구제가 하나님 앞에 상달되어 기억하신 바가 되었으니”(행 10:4) 하지만 여전히 고넬료는 그와 그의 가족에게 구원의 말씀을 전해 줄 사도 베드로를 청해야만 했습니다. 이것은 하나님께서 말씀을 통해 구원하신다는 것을 보여줍니다! 그 말씀이란 무엇입니까?

로마서 10:9은 이 원리를 확증합니다. “네가 만일 네 입으로 예수를 주로 시인하며 또 하나님께서 그를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 것을 네 마음에 믿으면 구원을 받으리라.” 여기서 등장하는 “시인하다”라는 단어는 헬라어 “호몰로기아”로, ‘동의하여 같은 것을 말하다’라는 뜻입니다. 다시 말해, 당신은 구원받기 위해서 하나님께서 하신 말씀과 일치하는 말을 해야 합니다. 이것이 참된 고백이며 구원의 원리입니다.

구원은 모든 것을 포함합니다. 그것은 죄로부터의 구원과 그에 따른 결과들인 보존, 신성한 치유와 건강, 보호, 번영 그리고 예수 그리스도의 죽음과 장사됨과 부활로 말미암아 당신이 얻은 모든 좋은 것들을 의미합니다. 따라서 구원받는다는 것은 삶에서의 모든 부정적인 영향과 환경으로부터 단절되고 완전히 끊어지는 것을 뜻합니다. 그러나 이것이 끝이 아닙니다. 그분의 주되심을 고백해야 합니다.

당신이 “예수님이 내 인생의 주인이십니다.”라고 말할 때 즉시 어둠의 권세에서 하나님의 사랑의 아들의 나라로 옮겨진다는 사실 외에도, 그분께서 당신의 목자이며 당신의 삶, 사업, 재정의 주인이심을 고백하는 것입니다. 그러므로 당신은 절대 부족하거나 가난할 수 없습니다! 그분이 당신의 육체의 주인이시기 때문에 당신은 아프거나 병에 걸릴 수 없습니다! 또한 당신은 그분께서 당신의 피난처이자 요새라고 선포하기 때문에 안전 가운데 거합니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내 삶에서 성취된 당신의 축복의 말씀에 감사드립니다. 나는 당신의 말씀 안에 거하고 믿음으로 충만한 고백을 하기 때문에 내 삶을 향한 당신의 완전한 뜻의 방향인 영광에서 영광으로 나아갑니다. 나는 건강, 안전, 평안 가운데 영원히 거합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HE SAVES THROUGH WORDS

…Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved (Acts 11:13-14).

In Acts 11, we read the very insightful account of the conversion of Cornelius and his household. Cornelius was a Roman centurion who was devout and prayerful. He was God-fearing and regularly gave alms to the poor, yet he wasn’t saved. But on a certain day, an angel appeared to him, instructing him to send for Peter who shall tell him words, whereby he and all his house shall be saved.

God saw the man’s “goodness” and moral uprightness, yet those weren’t enough to save him. The angel specifically said to him, “…Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God” (Acts 10:4). Yet, the man still needed to send for the Apostle Peter, who would lead him and his household to utter the words of salvation. This shows that God saves through words! But what words?

Romans 10:9 corroborates this principle. It says, “…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” The word, “confess” is from the Greek “homologia,” and it means, “speaking the same thing in consent”; in other words, you have to speak words that are in agreement with what God has said, in order for you to be saved. That’s true confession, and principle for salvation.

Salvation is all-encompassing. It refers to deliverance from sin and it’s consequences, preservation, divine healing and health, protection, prosperity and all the good things that the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ obtained for you. To be saved, therefore, means to be severed and totally disconnected from all negative influences and circumstances of life; and there’s more. The confession of His Lordship.

When you say, “Jesus is Lord over my life,” besides the fact that you’re immediately transferred from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of God’s loveSon, you’re also affirming that He’s the Shepherd and Lord over your life, business, finances; therefore, you’ll never lack or be poor! He’s Lord over your body; therefore, you’ll never be sick or diseased! You’re also declaring that He’s your refuge and your fortress, and for that reason, you dwell in safety. Blessed be God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your blessed Word that’s fulfilled in my life. I make progress from glory to glory, in the direction of your perfect will for my life, because I live in your Word, and speak faith-filled words. I dwell in health, safety, and peace forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

It’s happening real-time

“너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희에게 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니”(빌 2:13)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 “네 안에서 행하시던 이는 하나님이시니”라고 말하지 않고, “네 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니”라고 말씀하신 것에 주목하십시오. “행하다”라는 단어는 과거 또는 미래 시제가 아닌 현재진행 시제입니다. 하나님이 지금 당신 안에서 일하고 계십니다. 그 일은 지금 일어나고 있습니다. 그분은 당신을 강하게 하시고, 힘 주시며, 그분의 기쁨을 위해 그분의 완전한 뜻을 성취하고자 하는 갈망과 능력을 당신 안에 창조하심으로 당신 안에서 효과적으로 일하고 계십니다. 이 사실이 기쁘지 않으십니까?

이것은 전능하신 하나님께서 당신이 그분의 뜻을 행할 수 있도록 추진력을 주시고, 영감을 주시고, 능하게 하시고, 동기부여 해주시기 때문에 당신에게는 한계가 없고 어떠한 실패나 약함에 대한 가능성 조차 없다는 것을 의미합니다! 어떤 사람들은 늘 염려하여 심지어 내일 일도 걱정합니다. 그들은 자신이 하나님을 기쁘게 할 수 있을지 혹은 빛 가운데 살 수 있을지 확신하지 못합니다. 그렇게 하지 마십시오! 하나님께서 당신 안에서 역사하신다는 것을 의식할 때 당신은 그럴 수 없습니다.

당신의 힘으로는 가능하지 않을 것이고, 비틀거리거나 넘어질 수도 있습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “그가 그의 거룩한 자들의 발을 지키실 것이요 악인들을 흑암 중에서 잠잠하게 하시리니 힘(자연적인 인간의 능력)으로는 이길 사람이 없으리로다”(삼상 2:9) 그래서 하나님께서는 우리 안에 사시면서 우리가 하나님의 생명을 충만하게 누리며 살 수 있게 도우시도록 성령님을 우리에게 보내주셨습니다.

의 안에 살고, 경건하고 생산적인 활동들에 참여하고, 교회 모임에 참석하고, 복음을 전파하고, 다른 사람들을 사랑하는 등의 일들은 당신 안에서 그분이 효과적으로, 매순간 일하신 결과입니다! 그 때 당신은 하나님과 사람들에게 선한 일을 행하고자 하는 생각들을 갖게 되었습니다. 그런 생각은 당신의 혼이나 육에서 말미암은 것이 아니라, 당신 안에서 역사하시는 하나님께서 하신 일입니다.

지금도 당신이 말씀의 실재를 묵상하고 있을 때 그분께서 당신 안에서 일하십니다. 오늘의 본문, 기도, 참고 성경, 1년 성경 읽기를 통해 그분께서 당신에게 정보와 계시를 주십니다. 당신이 하나님의 말씀의 말로 다 할 수 없는 놀라운 축복들을 누릴 때, 당신의 삶에서의 그분의 영광은 증가하고 있습니다. 그분은 당신이 영원한 챔피언이자 승리자로 살도록 하기 위해 당신 삶에 필요한 조정, 탈바꿈, 변화를 만들어내고 계십니다. 그리고 그분은 지금도 그 일을 하고 계십니다! 할렐루야!

IT’S HAPPENING REAL-TIME

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).

Notice that the verse we just read doesn’t say, “For it is God who used to work in you….” Rather, it says, “For it is God which worketh in you….” The word, “worketh” is old English for “works”; it’s not in the past or future tense. It’s a present progressive tense. God is at work in you, NOW! It’s happening in real time. He’s effectively at work in you, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfil His perfect will for His good pleasure. Aren’t you glad about that!

This means there’s no margin or possibility for failure or weakness, because the Almighty God Himself is the one propelling, inspiring, enabling and driving you to do His will! There’re those who are concerned and even scared about tomorrow; not being sure if they’d still be pleasing God, and walking in His light. No! Not when you’re conscious that He’s the One at work in you.

Yes, by your own strength you won’t make it; you might falter and fall. The Bible says “He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength (natural human ability) shall no man prevail” (1 Samuel 2:9). He thus gave us the Holy Spirit, to live in us and help us live the God-life to the full.

Walking in righteousness, participating in godly and productive activities, attending church meetings, preaching the Gospel, loving others, etc., are results of His effectual, real-time work in you! All that time you had the thought to do something that’s good for God, and good for people, it wasn’t your mind or your flesh; it was God working in you.

Even now, He’s the One at work in you as you study this devotional. Through the teachings, prayers, further study, and the different daily Bible readings, He’s bringing you information and enlightenment. The intensity of His glory is increasing in your life, as you bask in untold blessings of His Word. He’s making necessary adjustments, transformations and changes in your life, to keep you a champion and a victor forever. And He’s doing this in real time! Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I acknowledge, and take full advantage of your inherent power and energy, which so powerfully works in me. I bask in your mighty grace that’s at work in me even now, and I declare that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I’m sufficient in your sufficiency, functioning by the ability, efficiency, and might of the Spirit, in Jesus’s Name. Amen.

Spend time in the Word

“그리스도의 말씀이 너희 속에 풍성히 거하여 모든 지혜로 피차 가르치며 권면하고 시와 찬송과 신령한 노래를 부르며 감사하는 마음으로 하나님을 찬양하고”(골 3:16)

그리스도인에게 말씀을 공부하고 묵상하는데 양질의 시간을 투자하는 것은 선택 사항이 아닙니다. 하나님의 말씀에는 삶에서의 더 큰 성공과 높은 생산성을 위해 필요한 지혜와 아이디어가 담겨 있습니다. 당신은 하나님의 말씀을 통해 생명의 실재와 왕국의 신비에 대한 통찰력을 얻습니다.

예를 들어, 하나님께서는 모세와 이스라엘 자손들에게 홍해의 마른 땅을 걸어가라고 명하셨고 그들은 그대로 행했습니다. 우리는 말씀에서 이것에 대해 읽으면서 하나님의 지혜와 능력을 보았습니다. 인간은 모르지만 하나님은 아셨던 바다에 대한 비밀과 신비가 있었습니다. 말씀을 공부할 때 그러한 비밀들이 드러납니다. 우리는 하나님의 가능성들을 알게 되고, 그분 안에 있는 우리의 크고 무한한 잠재력을 깨닫게 됩니다.

당신이 성경을 공부하며 하나님의 기적을 볼 때, 기적을 일으키는 그 능력이 오늘날 우리 안에 거하고 있다는 것을 알게 됩니다. 하나님은 우리에게 왕국의 신비들과 기적의 비밀들을 보여줄 뿐만 아니라, 그분을 통해 기적을 행할 수 있다는 것을 보여주기 위해 성령님을 우리에게 보내주셨습니다. 이를 위한 비결은 지속적으로 하나님의 말씀을 공부하고 성령님과 교제함으로 그분을 아는 것입니다.

당신은 반드시 말씀과 시간을 보내야 합니다. 에베소서 1:17은 말합니다. “우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 자기를 아는 지식 안에서 지혜와 계시의 영을 너희에게 주시어”(한글킹제임스) 왜 하나님을 아는 지식이 중요합니까? 생명에 대한 모든 것이 그분 안에 있기 때문입니다. 그분은 모든 지식과 지혜의 완전한 전형이십니다. 당신이 그분을 알면 알수록, 당신은 생명에 대해 더 알게 됩니다.

그분에 대해 아는 방법은 에베소서 1:18에 나와 있습니다. “너희의 지성의 눈을 밝히셔서 너희로 하여금…” 당신의 심령이 빛으로 가득할 때, 곧 당신의 영 안에 하나님의 말씀이 풍성할 때, 에베소서 1장 17절에서 말하는 바가 실재가 됩니다. 탁월한 생각과 이해력으로 살아가기 시작하십시오.

SPEND TIME IN THE WORD

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16).

For the Christian, spending quality time to study and meditate on the Word, isn’t an option. God’s Word contains the wisdom and ideas you require for greater success and increased productivity in life. That’s where you receive insight into the realities of life, and mysteries of the Kingdom.

For example, God told Moses and the children of Israel to walk through the Red Sea on dry ground, and they did. We read about that in the Word and see the wisdom and power of God. There was a secret, a mystery about water that man didn’t know, but God knew. In studying the Word, such secrets are unveiled; we see the possibilities of God and our vast and limitless potentials in Him.

As you study the Scriptures and see the miracles of God, they’re indications that the power to make such things happen resides within us today. He gave us the Holy Spirit, not only to show us these mysteries of the Kingdom, and secrets to the miraculous, but also so we could work miracles through Him. But the key is knowing Him; consistent study of the Word of God, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

You must spend time with the Word. Ephesians 1:17 says, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.” Why is it the knowledge of God? It’s because everything in life is in Him. He’s the full embodiment of all knowledge and wisdom. The more you know Him, the more you know about life.

The way to know Him is revealed in Ephesians 1:18: “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know….” When your heart is flooded with light, meaning an abundance of the Word of God in your spirit, then the seventeenth verse becomes a reality. You start functioning with such extraordinary amplitude of mind and comprehension.

PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you, for the eyes of my understanding have been enlightened by your Word. Therefore, I have insight into mysteries and secrets; nothing that I can’t know. Christ is my wisdom, and the Word of God informs me daily, as I give it attention, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Wisdom and full discernment

“우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 자기를 아는 지식 안에서 지혜와 계시의 영을 너희에게 주시어”(엡 1:17, 한글킹제임스)

오늘의 본문 구절에 등장하는 “계시”라는 단어는 헬라어로 “아포칼룹스시스(apokalupsis)”이며, 드러남을 의미합니다. 또한 “지식”이라는 단어는 헬라어로 “에피그노시스(epignosis)”이며, 완전한 분별력과 하나님에 대한 정확한 지식을 뜻합니다.

확대 번역본은 더욱 명확하게 말합니다. “우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께 [내가 항상 기도하는 것은], 그분께서 당신에게 그분을 [깊고 친밀하게] 아는 지식 가운데 [신비와 비밀에 대한 통찰력의] 지혜와 계시의 영을 주시기를 기도합니다”(엡 1:17) 당신을 인도하고 하나님의 생명에 대한 신비와 비밀에 대한 통찰력을 주는 하나님의 기름부음과 지혜가 당신 안에 있습니다.

시편 25:14은 말합니다. “주의 은밀하심이 그를 두려워하는 자들과 함께 있으니…”(한글킹제임스) 우리를 위한 생명은 더 이상 신비가 아닙니다. 성령님께서 우리 안에 계시고, 우리 안에서 하시는 그분의 사역은 진리를 밝혀 주시는 것이기 때문입니다. 그분은 우리에게 영적인 이해를 주십니다. 우리는 성령을 통해 존재의 이유와 해야 할 일들을 알고 있습니다(요 16:13).

예를 들어, 예수님의 사역 초기에 주님은 아무 고기도 잡지 못한 채 그물을 정리하고 있던 베드로를 만나셨습니다. 그분은 설교할 때 베드로의 배를 써도 되는지 물으셨고, 설교 후에는 베드로에게 많은 고기를 잡도록 다시 그물을 던지라고 하셨습니다.

베드로는 밤새 동료들과 함께 그물을 던졌지만 아무 소득도 없었던 것을 기억했습니다. 그러나 주의 말씀에 따라 그는 그물을 던졌고, 단언컨대 그의 인생에서 가장 많은 수확을 거두게 되었습니다(눅 5:1-8).

예수님께서는 물고기들이 어디에 있는지 아셨습니다. 그것이 영적 통찰력과 이해입니다. 그분은 모든 것의 창조주이십니다. 그분은 생명의 신비와 비밀을 아십니다. 그분은 사업들과 돈이 어디에 있는지 아십니다. 그분은 당신의 사역과 일이 다음 단계로 나아가게 하는 아이디어가 무엇인지 아십니다.

당신의 삶을 그분께 맡기십시오. 그분을 더 많이 알고 그분의 말씀을 행하는 것이 당신의 가장 큰 열정이 되게 하십시오. 그분은 교제를 통해 당신에게 그분 자신을 드러내시며 왕국의 위대한 신비를 밝히십니다. 당신이 지혜의 영으로 기능하며, 완전한 분별력과 그분에 대한 정확한 지식으로 나타나는 것이 당신을 향한 하나님의 갈망입니다.

고백
하나님의 말씀이 내 삶을 인도하는 등불이며 내 길을 밝혀주는 빛이므로 나는 결코 비틀거리거나 혼돈 가운데 걷지 않습니다. 나는 미리 예비된 길을 걸으며, 내 길은 완전한 날에 이르기까지 더욱 더 밝게 빛나는 빛과 같습니다. 아멘.

WISDOM AND FULL DISCERNMENT

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him (Ephesians 1:17).

“Revelation” in the foregoing verse is the Greek word, “apokalupsis,” which means an unveiling. “Knowledge”; on the other hand, is the Greek word, “epignosis,” which means a full discernment, an accurate knowledge of God.

The Amplified Classic Translation makes it a lot clearer. It says, “[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him” (Ephesians 1:17). There are mysteries and secrets about life, and the anointing and wisdom of God are in you to guide and give you insight into these mysteries and secrets of God.

Psalm 25:14 says, “The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him….” Life for us isn’t a mystery anymore, because the Holy Spirit is in us, and part of His ministry in us is the unveiling of truth. He grants us spiritual understanding. We know why things are the way they are, and we always know what to do through the Spirit (John 16:13).

For example, earlier in His ministry, the Lord Jesus met Peter cleaning and mending his net after a fruitless fishing expedition. He requested to use Peter’s boat to preach, and when He was through, He asked Peter to launch into the water for a great haul of fish.

Peter recalled how he and his colleagues had toiled all night to no avail. But at the word of the Master, he let down his net, and sure enough, it was the catch of his lifetime (Luke 5:1-8).

Jesus knew where the fishes were. That’s spiritual insight and understanding. He’s the creator of all things. He knows the mysteries and secrets of life. He knows where the businesses are. He knows where the money is. He knows what ideas to give to you to take your ministry and work to the next level.

Trust Him with your life. Make knowing Him more, and keeping His Word, your greatest passion. Through that fellowship, He’ll keep unveiling Himself and the greater mysteries of the Kingdom to you. This is God’s desire for you: that you function with the Spirit of wisdom, expressed in full discernment and accurate knowledge of Him.

CONFESSION
I’ll never stumble or walk in confusion, because God’s Word is a lamp that directs my life, and a light that lightens my path. I walk in preordained pathways, and my path is as the shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. Amen.

You have enough time

“내가 전에 너희에게 보낸 큰 군대 곧 메뚜기와 느치와 황충과 팥중이가 먹는 햇수대로 너희에게 갚아 주리니”(요엘 2:25)

그리스도인으로서 자기 자신을 말씀 공부와 성령님과의 교제에 내어드릴 때, 눈에 띄는 변화가 당신의 삶에 나타나기 시작합니다. 이러한 변화는 즉시 당신의 삶의 방식, 특별히 당신의 말과 의사소통에서 나타나야 합니다.

진정한 그리스도인의 성장이란, 어떤 상황에서든지 말씀에 따라 정확하고 건전하게 말하는 능력을 갖는 것입니다. 예를 들어, 당신이 어디를 가야 하거나 프로젝트를 완료해야 하는데 주어진 시간이 거의 다 되어간다면 당황하거나 화내지 마십시오. 시간이 없다고 한탄하거나 불평하지 마십시오. 당신의 말로 시간을 끝내 버리지 마십시오. 평안을 유지하십시오. 당신 안에 계신 하나님은 시간의 주인이십니다.

YOU  HAVE  ENOUGH  TIME

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you (Joel 2:25).

As a Christian, when you give yourself to the study of the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, evident changes begin to manifest in your life. These changes should immediately reflect in your lifestyle, especially your speech, your communication.

True Christian maturity is the ability to speak correctly or wholesomely, in line with the Word, irrespective of the situation. For example, if you needed to get somewhere or complete a project and the time limit you’re given is closing in, don’t panic or get into a frenzy. Don’t start lamenting and complaining that you don’t have time. Don’t cut your time short with your words. Keep your composure. The God who lives in you is the owner of time.

Read our opening verse again and observe what the Lord said. He’s a restorer of time. He restores wasted years, which means He can restore wasted months, wasted weeks, wasted days, wasted hours, wasted minutes, wasted seconds, and wasted moments. Hallelujah!

So, don’t panic because of time. When you panic, you take actions in fear, and fear is of the devil. As long as you’re panicking, you can’t have a miracle. So, refuse to panic for “lack of time.” 1 Kings 18:46 explains how Elijah was transported by the Spirit of God to outrun horses. Philip was transported by the Spirit of God to another city, faster than any supersonic jet of our day (Acts 8:39-40).

Always remember that you’re not an ordinary person. You live a miracle life; whatever amount of time there is, is what you need! And because you live a miracle life—the supernatural life—if the task or project you’re on requires an hour, you can do it in a shorter time. Have this consciousness.

Every so often, say to yourself, “I have enough time in life to be all that God has destined me to be, and to do all He’s called me to do and finish my course.” Hallelujah!

PRAYER
My heart is flooded with the light of God’s Word, and I speak words that are consistent with the provisions of the Gospel of Christ. I refuse to panic or be anxious because of time, for I dwell in eternity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

When Jesus is in your boat

“주와 합하는 자는 한 영이니라”(고전 6:17)

어느 날 예수님의 제자들은 배를 타고 있었습니다. 물론 그들은 그 전에도 배를 탄 적이 있었지만, 이번 경우는 달랐고 더욱 특별했습니다. 주님이 그 배에 그들과 함께 타고 계셨기 때문입니다.

그러나 얼마 지나지 않아 제자들은 배에 물이 들어오고 있음을 알아챘습니다. 바람은 점점 거세졌고 파도는 더 높이 치고 있었습니다. 그들은 겁에 질렸지만, 그렇다고 배가 전복되어 그들과 주님이 바다에 빠져 죽는 것을 보고만 있을 수는 없었습니다.

제자들은 위험에 빠진 그 배의 뒤편에서 자고 있던 예수님을 찾으러 갔습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “예수께서는 고물에서 베개를 베고 주무시더니 제자들이 깨우며 이르되 선생님이여 우리가 죽게 된 것을 돌보지 아니하시나이까 하니 예수께서 깨어 바람을 꾸짖으시며 바다더러 이르시되 잠잠하라 고요하라 하시니 바람이 그치고 아주 잔잔하여지더라”(막 4:38-49)

예수님이 당신의 배에 함께 계실 때 그곳에는 기쁨과 평안과 번영이 있습니다. 제자들과 함께 배에 탄 그분의 임재가 그러한 차이를 만들었습니다. 비록 예수님은 제자들에게 믿음이 없다고 꾸짖으셨지만, 그들이 절박한 위기의 상황에서 능력을 필요로 할 때 그분은 능력을 공급해주기 위해 바로 그곳에 계셨습니다.

오늘의 질문은 “당신의 배에 누가 계십니까?” 입니다. 당신의 배에 타고 있는 분이 예수님이 아니라면 당신은 가라앉을 것입니다. 오늘날 우리에게는 예수님께서 배에 함께 타고 계시는 것 이상이 있습니다. 예수님은 성령님으로 말미암아 우리 안에 계십니다. 그분 안에서, 당신은 인생의 여러 문제들 가운데서도 성공적으로 항해할 것입니다. 그분 안에서, 당신은 모든 혼란, 위기, 역경을 능가하는 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 시험, 시련, 박해와 상관없이 당신은 항상 승리합니다.

상황이 아무리 심각할지라도, 그분은 겉으로 보기에 힘든 시간들을 당신의 최고의 시간들로 바꾸십니다. 성경은 말합니다. “우리가 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 영광의 중한 것을 우리에게 이루게 함이니”(고후 4:17) 어떤 도전이든지 상관없습니다. 그분이 당신 안에 살아 계시므로 당신은 항상 승리하기 때문입니다.

WHEN JESUS IS IN YOUR BOAT

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).

On a particular occasion, the disciples of Jesus were ferrying in a boat. Certainly, they had been on several boat rides, but this one was different and more remarkable, because the Master was in the boat with them.

However, not long afterwards, the disciples noticed that water was coming into the boat. The wind became fierce and ferocious, with the tides getting higher. Though terrified, the disciples couldn’t accept the possibility of the boat capsizing with Jesus in it, and they and the Master drowning in the sea.

Thus, they went to Him only to find Him sleeping in the rear of the same endangered boat. The Bible says, “And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:38-39).

When Jesus is in your boat, there’s joy, peace, and prosperity. His presence in the boat with the disciples made the difference. Even though He chided them for their lack of faith, they needed power over the imminent crisis and He was right there to provide it.

The question today is, “Who is in your boat?” It had better be Jesus; otherwise, you’re sunk. And something better for us today is that, much more than having Him “in the boat” with you, He’s in you by the Holy Ghost. In Him, you’ll sail through life’s troubles triumphantly. In Him, you have power over every turbulence, crisis, and adversity. Irrespective of the tests, trials and persecution, you’ll always win.

No matter how dire the situation is, He’ll turn those seemingly tough times into your best times. The Bible says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory…” (2 Corinthians 4:17). It makes no difference what the challenges are; because He lives in you, you’ll always win.

Christ in you is your assurance of victory against life’s stresses and troubles. He’s in “your boat”; therefore, refuse to fear.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for my oneness with you. Your ever-abiding presence in and with me makes me indestructible. I’m more than a conqueror through Christ that loved me, and I can do all things in your Name, and by your ability at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

행운을 바라지 마십시오
Don’t hope for luck

“성읍에서도 복을 받고 들에서도 복을 받을 것이며”(신 28:3)

어떤 사람들은 어둠 가운데 살아가면서 먼 훗날 그들에게 운이 따라서 일들이 잘 풀리기를 소망합니다. 당신은 아마 그들이 “나에게 운이 따른다면 나는 그 계약을 딸 수 있을 거야.”, “나에게 운이 따른다면 내가 원했던 그 미팅을 잡을 수 있을 거야.”라고 말하는 것을 들을 수 있을 것입니다. 그들은 재정, 사업, 심지어 인간 관계에서까지 행운을 기대합니다. 그런 사람들은 하나님의 말씀의 빛을 경험해 본 적이 없는 사람들입니다.

행운을 바라거나 그저 하나님이 뭔가를 해주시기를 기대하지 마십시오. 그렇게 하지 마십시오! 당신은 이미 축복받은 사람입니다. 이것이 어떤 의미인지 아십니까? 당신에게 과분하거나 당신이 도달할 수 없는 것은 없다는 뜻입니다. 거듭난 당신은 운에 따라 살지 않고 말씀 안에서 행합니다. 하나님의 말씀은 당신의 빛입니다. “주의 말씀은 내 발에 등이요 내 길에 빛이니이다”(시 119:105)

성경은 말합니다. “우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그의 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라”(롬 8:28) 이것을 이해하고 자신에게 고백하십시오. “하나님께는 정확한 시간과 장소에서 나를 도와줄 사람들이 있다. 그분께서 나를 그들에게로 인도하시거나 그들을 나에게로 인도하신다. 어떤 식으로든 우리는 만날 것이다.” 할렐루야!

기억하십시오. 그분은 이미 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것으로 당신을 축복하셨습니다(벧후 1:3). 그분은 이미 그리스도 안에서 천상에 있는 모든 영적인 복으로 우리를 복 주셨습니다(엡 1:3). 축복받은 사람으로 사십시오. 축복을 의식하고 행운을 바라지 마십시오.

DON’T HOPE FOR LUCK

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field (Deuteronomy 28:3).

Some people go through life groping in the dark, hoping that someday, they might just be lucky and things will work out for them. You’d hear them make statements like, “Maybe, if I’m lucky, I’ll get the contract”; “maybe if I’m lucky, I’ll get the appointment I’ve been desiring.” They’re hoping for luck in their finances, in their businesses, and even in their relationships. Such people haven’t been exposed to the light of God’s Word.

Don’t hope for luck. Don’t hope that God might just do something, no! You’re already a blessed person. Do you know what that means? It means nothing is too good for you or beyond your reach. Being born again, you don’t function by luck; you walk in the Word. The Word of God is your light: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105).

The light of God in your spirit will direct you to be at the right place at the right time, walking in paths preordained by God. The light of God in you causes you to walk in divine favour. God’s got everything fixed in your behalf. He has the right people to help you, at the right time, and in the right place.

The Bible says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). With this understanding, say to yourself: “God has the right people to help me, at the right time, and in the right place; He’ll guide me to them, or He’ll guide them to me. One way or another, we’ll meet.” Hallelujah!

Remember, He’s already blessed you with everything you require for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). He’s already blessed you with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). Live as a blessed man or woman. Be blessing-conscious; don’t hope for luck.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for blessing me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus. I don’t lack anything good because all things are mine. Thank you, Lord, for you have the right people to help me, at the right time, and in the right places, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Two aspects of the Christ-life

“하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라”(요 3:16)

그리스도의 생명에는 법적인 측면과 실제적인 측면이 있습니다. 이 두 가지 측면은 오늘의 본문 구절에도 설명되어 있습니다. 법적인 측면은 우리가 누구인지, 무엇을 가지고 있고 무엇을 할 수 있는지, 그리스도 안에서 우리에게 부여된 위치, 계급, 권세를 의미합니다.

오늘의 본문 구절을 통해 우리는 하나님께서 그분의 아들을 주셨고, 누구든지 그분을 믿는 사람은 멸망치 않는다는 것을 확인하였습니다. 이것은 법적 선언입니다. 후반부에서는 당신이 그분을 믿을 때 소유하게 되는 “영원한 생명”을 설명합니다. 영원한 생명을 얻는 것이 두 번째 부분인데, 이는 그리스도의 생명의 실제적인 측면입니다.

많은 사람들이 그랬던 것처럼 두 측면을 정확히 이해하지 못하고 혼동할 수도 있습니다. 그들은 법적인 측면과 실제적인 측면을 구별하는데 어려움이 있었기 때문에 말씀을 정확하게 적용할 수 없었습니다.

예를 들어, 신성한 건강은 당신에게 속한 것이지, 당신 것이라고 “주장”하기 위해 고군분투하며 기도할 것이 아닙니다. 신성한 건강은 합법적으로 당신의 소유이며, 이는 하나님이나 사단과는 아무 상관이 없습니다. 그러나 당신은 말씀을 스스로 고백함으로 신성한 건강이 실제로 나타나게 해야 합니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!

기도

TWO ASPECTS OF THE CHRIST-LIFE

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

There’re two aspects of the Christ-life: the legal and the vital aspects. These two aspects are illustrated in our theme verse. The legal aspect refers to all that we are, all that we have, all that we can do, and our position, rank and authority as granted us in Christ.

We read that God gave His Son and says whosoever believes in Him should not perish. That’s a legal declaration. Then, the verse concludes by stating what you would have upon believing in Him: “everlasting life.” To have everlasting life is the second part, which is the vital aspect of the Christ-life.

The vital aspect of the Christ-life refers to all that the Holy Spirit has done or is doing in your spirit, soul and body through the Word, developing you after the image of Christ and the Father. This vital aspect is activated by your confession. Meaning, it only works when you affirm it.

The legal aspect, on the other hand, gives you authority. You acknowledge the Word and act accordingly, because it’s about being informed of what belongs to you, who you are, and your inheritance in Christ.

Now, without an understanding of these two aspects, there can be a mix-up, just as many have done. They haven’t been able to differentiate between the legal and the vital, and so, they’re unable to apply the Word rightly.

For example, divine health belongs to you; it’s not something to struggle for in prayer, trying to “claim.” It’s legally yours now; it’s not with God or the devil. However, you make it vitally yours through your confession of the Word. Praise God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I take advantage of all that you’ve done for me as a result of the vicarious death of Jesus, and I acknowledge the benefits of His glorious resurrection in my life and all that it means to me. I’m healthy, vibrant, prosperous and victorious every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

영원한 생명과 하나님과의 실제적 연합
Eternal life and our vital union with God

“또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라”(요일 5:11)

예수님께서 우리에게 가져다 주신 하나님과의 법적인 연합이 있지만, 영생을 받음으로써 우리는 하나님과의 실제적 연합을 이루게 되었습니다. 이에 대해 설명하고 당신의 이해를 도울 수 있는 간단한 그림은 바로 남성과 여성 간의 결혼 관계입니다. 결혼은 그들 간의 상호 동의와 법에 따른 적절한 절차에 따라 서명된 계약을 기반으로 성사됩니다.

그러고 나서 남녀가 결혼의 결과로 가족을 형성하고, 가족이 되어 실제적인 연합을 가지게 됩니다. 이것은 “서명된 계약서”와는 다릅니다. 그 계약서는 법적인 연합을 문서화한 것입니다.

법적 연합은 권리만을 소유합니다. 예를 들어 유산을 상속하는 문제가 생길 경우, 법원은 상속에 대한 결정을 내리기 위해 결혼의 적법성을 확인하고자 혼인에 관한 문건을 요청할 것입니다. 법원은 당신의 집에 직접 와서 보지 않고, 법적으로 제출되는 문건들에 관심을 갖고 볼 것입니다.

그래서 예수님은 우리를 그분과 하늘 아버지와의 법적인 연합으로 인도하셨습니다. 또한 그분은 우리가 그분과 하늘 아버지와의 실제적인 연합을 가질 수 있도록 영생을 우리에게 주셨습니다. 따라서 우리는 법적인 연합과 실제적인 연합 모두를 소유하고 있습니다. 영생은 우리를 하늘 아버지와의 실제적인 연합으로 인도합니다.

또한 하나님과의 실제적 연합(영생의 결과)의 큰 유익 중 하나는 영생이 우리에게 신성한 치유보다 더 좋은 신성한 건강을 준다는 것입니다. 치유가 필요한 경우도 있지만 신성한 건강이 월등히 더 낫습니다. 영생은 우리에게 신성한 건강을 가져다 줍니다. 치유되는 것은 위대한 일이지만 결코 아픈 것이 좋을 수는 없습니다. 절대 아프지 않는 것이 가능합니까? 당연히 가능합니다! 그러나 당신은 새로운 탄생을 통해 받은 이 생명을 이해하고 인식해야 합니다. “또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓰는 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라”(요일 5:11-13)

베드로후서 1:3은 말합니다. “그의 신기한 능력으로 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨으니 이는 자기의 영광과 덕으로써 우리를 부르신 이를 앎으로 말미암음이라.” 당신은 예수 그리스도를 알아야만 합니다. 그렇게 할 때 당신은 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 당신에게 속한 모든 것을 이해하고 누릴 수 있습니다.

ETERNAL LIFE AND OUR VITAL UNION WITH GOD

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11 NIV).

There’s a legal union that we have with God that Jesus brought us into, but receiving eternal life brought us into a vital union with God. A simple illustration to explain and help you understand this is a marriage relationship between a man and a woman. Marriage between them is ratified on the basis of mutual consent and a duly signed contract as required by law.

Then, as man and wife, as a result of the marriage, they form a family, and now that they’re a family, they have a vital union. This is different from the “signed paper”; that paper documented the legal union.

The legal union only has authority? for example, if you had a problem and there was a question about inheritance, the courts will need the legality of that marriage to decide something about the inheritance; they’ll ask for the document of your marriage. They’re not going to be looking at something about your home per se; they’ll be more interested in something that can be tendered legally.

So, Jesus brought us into a legal union with Himself and with our heavenly Father. He also gave us something that brought us into a vital union with Himself and with our heavenly Father. So, we have both the legal and the vital. Eternal life brings us into a vital union with our heavenly Father.

One of the great benefits of our vital union with God (the result of eternal life) is that eternal life also gives us divine health, which is better than divine healing. There’s a place for healing, but something far better is divine health. It’s a great thing to be healed, but never being sick is far better. Is it possible never to be sick? Absolutely! But you need to understand and acknowledge this life that you received through the new birth. It’s part of what we read in our opening verse, 1 John 5:11 (NIV). Verses 12 and 13 says, “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (NIV).

2 Peter 1:3 says, “…his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” You’ve got to know Him, for only then will you understand and enjoy all that belongs to you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER
Precious Father, I thank you for giving me eternal life and bringing me into a vital union with you! I rejoice that I’m one spirit with you, and thus an associate of the God-kind. I walk in divine health, prosperity, success and victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Christian can’t be poisoned

“무슨 독을 마실지라도 해를 받지 아니하며 병든 사람에게 손을 얹은 즉 나으리라 하시더라”(막 16:18)

예수님께서 오늘 본문 구절에서 하신 말씀에 따르면, 그리스도인은 독에 해를 입을 수 없습니다. 어떤 식으로 독에 접촉되었는지는 중요하지 않습니다. 왜 그렇습니까? 레위기 17:11에서 “생명이 피에 있으므로”라고 말하기 때문입니다. 사람들이 독에 노출되면 독은 혈관을 통해 그들 몸의 내부 시스템에 진입하여 육체를 파괴합니다.

그러나 거듭나서 성령을 받으면 더 이상 당신의 몸은 피로 말미암아 살지 않습니다. 거듭나지 않은 사람의 육체의 생명은 피에 있지만, 거듭난 당신의 생명은 그리스도입니다(골 3:3).

예수님이 십자가에 달리셨을 때, 한 병사가 그분의 옆구리를 창으로 찌른 것을 기억해보십시오. 성경은 피와 물이 뿜어져 나왔다고 기록합니다. 그분의 심장이 파열되었기 때문입니다. 하나님께서 그분을 죽은 자 가운데서 살리셨을 때, 그분의 몸에는 피가 없었습니다. 성령님께서 그분의 육체의 생명이 되셨습니다.

로마서 8:11은 말합니다. “예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라.” “살린다”라는 말은 생명이 있는 상태로 만들거나 생명을 주는 것을 의미합니다. 당신이 성령을 받은 날, 그분이 당신의 육체를 살리셨습니다. 그분이 당신의 육체의 생명이 되셨습니다. 당신의 생명은 이제 더 이상 피에 달려있지 않습니다.

그러므로 피에 영향을 주거나 피를 파괴하는 그 어떤 것도 당신에게 영향을 끼칠 수 없으며 또 영향을 끼쳐서도 안된다는 것을 이해하십시오. 따라서 우리가 그리스도인은 감염될 수 없고, 질병에 걸릴 수 없다고 말할 때에는 이러한 뜻을 담고 있는 것입니다. 예수님을 죽음에서 살리신 그 동일한 성령께서 당신의 몸에 생명을 주셔서 어떤 전염병도 당신의 몸에 존재하거나 퍼져나갈 수 없습니다.

성령님은 당신 안을 순찰하시며 당신이 신성한 건강 안에 거하고 있는지 확인하십니다. 그분은 당신의 육체에 일어날 수 있는 그 어떤 이상 상태도 가까이 오지 못하도록 물리치십니다(고후 6:16). 할렐루야!

고백
나는 성령님에 의해 생명으로 가득합니다. 어떤 아픔, 질병, 허약함도 내 몸에서 버틸 수 없습니다. 하나님의 신성한 생명이 지금 내 안에, 나의 모든 섬유조직에, 피의 모든 세포에, 모든 뼈에 있습니다. 나는 성령으로 말미암아 영원토록 살아있고, 건강하고, 강합니다. 할렐루야!

THE CHRISTIAN CAN’T BE POISONED

…and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17-18).

Following the words of Jesus in the verses above, the Christian can’t be poisoned. It makes no difference how the poison is administered. Why is this so? The Bible tells us in Leviticus 17:11, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood….” When people are poisoned, the poison gets into their system through the blood vessels to wreak havoc.

However, being born again, and having received the Holy Spirit, your body doesn’t live by blood anymore. The life of the flesh, for the unregenerate man, is the blood, but now that you’re born again, Christ is your life (Colossians 3:4).

Remember, when Jesus was crucified, while He was on the Cross, a soldier thrust a spear through His side, and the Bible records that blood and water gushed out, because His heart had ruptured. When God raised Him from the dead, there was no blood in His body. The Holy Spirit became the life of His physical body.

The Bible says in Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” The word “quicken” means to “make alive” or “give life to.” The day you received the Holy Spirit, He quickened your physical body. He became the life of your physical body. Your life doesn’t depend on blood anymore.

Understand this: anything that affects or destroys the blood can’t, and shouldn’t have any effect on you. This is what we mean when we say the Christian can’t be infected or isn’t susceptible to any kind of sickness or disease. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead has vitalized your body such that no infection can survive or thrive in your body.

The Holy Spirit perambulates in you to see to it that you’re in perfect health, warding off any anomaly that may or could occur with your physical body (2 Corinthians 6:16). Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I’m vitalised by the Holy Ghost! No sickness, disease or infirmity can thrive or survive in my body. The divine life of God is at work in me, in every fibre of my being, in every cell of my blood and in every bone of my body. I’m alive and well, healthy and strong forever, by the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah!
