의 – 사람을 위한 선물
RIGHTEOUSNESS—A GIFT FOR ALL MEN
“그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고후 5:17)
의는 하나님의 가장 중요한 세 가지 선물 중 하나이며 온 세상에 주어졌습니다. 의의 선물은 모든 사람을 위한 것입니다. 당신은 이렇게 물을 수도 있습니다. ”그렇다면 왜 성경에서는 ‘기록된 바 의인은 없나니 하나도 없으며’(롬3:10) 라고 말합니까?’” 이것이 바로 예수님이 모든 사람을 위해 오셔서 고난을 당하시고 죽으신 이유입니다!
예수님은 불의한 자들을 의로운 피조물로 만드시려고 이 땅에 오셨습니다. 그분은 지금까지 불의했던 모든 사람이 자신을 믿고 의롭게 될 수 있도록 죽으셨습니다. 로마서 10:10은 말합니다. “사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르느니라.”
엄밀히 법적으로 말하자면 무신론자를 포함한 세상의 모든 죄인은 이미 의롭게 되었습니다. 하지만 그들은 의의 생명을 활성화하지 못했습니다. 이는 거듭남으로만 가능하기 때문입니다. 따라서 그들은 의의 생명의 실재를 체험할 수 없습니다. 그들은 의의 열매와 일들을 만들 수 없습니다.
이것이 우리가 복음을 전하는 이유입니다. 세상은 예수님의 죽으심과 부활이 모든 사람을 죄의 종살이에서 해방하였음을 알아야 합니다. 이제 그리스도 예수 안에서 의롭게 될 수 있습니다. 고린도후서 5:21은 말합니다. “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라.”
이제 여러분은 거듭났고 의의 생명으로 옮겨졌습니다. “그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라”(롬6:4). 의는 하나님의 성품입니다. 의는 당신이 하나님 앞에 설 수 있는 권리를 부여합니다. 의는 바른 일을 행할 수 있는 본성입니다. 이것이 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 새로운 본성입니다. 이제 하나님과의 친밀한 관계가 가능합니다. 예수님의 이름을 영원히 송축합니다!

의로우신 아버지, 저에게 당신의 의를 주시고, 당신 앞에 죄책감이나 정죄감, 열등감이나 책망 받을 것 없이 담대히 설 수 있는 능력을 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 의 의식으로 가득합니다. 나는 예수 그리스도의 죽으심으로 나에게 부여된 의의 선물을 기뻐합니다. 그러므로 나는 의 안에서 다스립니다. 나는 이 세상의 환경과 상황들을 다스립니다. 아멘!

RIGHTEOUSNESS—A GIFT FOR ALL MEN
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”(2 Corinthians 5:17).
Righteousness is one of the three cardinal gifts of God, and it was offered to the whole world. The gift of righteousness is for all men. You might argue, “Why then does the Bible say, ‘As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one (Romans 3:10)?’” That’s the reason Jesus came, suffered, and died for all men!
He came into this world to make a righteous creation out of the unrighteous man. He died once, so that everyman who hitherto was unrighteous could believe in Him and become righteous. Romans 10:10 says, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Legally speaking, every sinner in the world, including the atheist, has already been made righteous. But because they haven’t activated the life of righteousness by being born again, they can’t experience the vital realities of the life of righteousness. They can’t produce the fruits and works of righteousness.
It’s the reason we preach the Gospel; the world needs to know that the death and resurrection of Jesus has freed all men from the bondage of sin. Now, righteousness is available in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Now that you’re born again, you’ve been brought into a new life of righteousness: “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). Righteousness is the nature of God that gives you right standing with God, and the nature to do right. This is your new nature in Christ; an intimate relationship with God is now possible. Blessed be His Name forever!
PRAYER
Righteous Father, I thank you for giving me your righteousness, and granting me the ability to boldly stand before you without guilt, condemnation, inferiority or blame. I’m righteousness-conscious. I rejoice in the gift of righteousness bequeathed to me through the death of Jesus Christ. Therefore, I reign in righteousness; I reign over circumstances and the elements of this world. Amen!
