The Word Imparts Faith
“그러므로 믿음은 들음에서 나며 들음은 그리스도의 말씀으로 말미암았느니라”(롬 10:17)
하나님의 말씀은 믿음을 불어넣습니다. 종종 하나님의 말씀을 듣거나 공부할 때, 당신의 영이 활력을 얻음을 알 수 있습니다. 이렇게 말씀을 들을 때면 당신이 마주한 모든 도전들이 갑자기 아무것도 아닌 것처럼 보입니다. 당신이 들은 말씀이 심령 가운데 믿음을 일으키기 때문입니다.
하나님의 말씀은 영적입니다. 그러므로 하나님의 말씀은 당신의 감각이 느끼는 물리적인 것보다 훨씬 더 실제적입니다. 그렇기 때문에 말씀을 당신의 영으로 받아들이면 당신의 영과 하나님의 말씀 사이에 영적인 반응이 일어나는 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 당신에게 환경을 다스릴 수 있는 권세를 줍니다. 따라서 이 반응이 일어나면, 믿음이 당신 안에서 거인처럼 일어나며 승리의 확신을 줍니다.
당신의 믿음이 작거나 약하다고 생각될지라도 예수님은 작은 믿음도 위대한 일을 할 수 있다고 말씀하셨습니다. 작은 믿음도 말 그대로 산을 옮길 수 있습니다(눅 17:6). 혹 당신은 “나는 믿음이 없다”고 생각하고 있을지도 모릅니다. 오늘의 본문 구절은 믿음을 얻는 방법을 알려줍니다. 믿음은 들음에서 나며 들음은 하나님의 말씀으로 말미암습니다.
당신이 믿음이 충분하지 않다고 생각이 든다면 이는 당신이 하나님의 말씀을 더 많이 들을 시기라는 뜻입니다. 말씀은 반드시 당신에게 믿음을 불어넣을 것입니다. 이것이 하나님 왕국의 원리입니다. 당신은 그렇게 되기 위해 애쓸 필요가 없습니다. 하나님의 말씀에 집중하면 믿음은 당신에게 올 것입니다.
몇 년 전 우리 모임에 참석하기 위해 왔던 어떤 청년이 떠오릅니다. 그는 우리가 나누는 내용을 믿지 않았고 앞으로도 믿지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그의 친구들은 그가 모임에 참석하도록 설득했습니다. 그래서 그는 모임에 왔지만, 믿지 않으려고 노력했습니다. 하지만 그는 메시지를 “듣고” 있었습니다(믿음은 들음에서 온다는 것을 기억하십시오).
나중에 제가 그와 이야기를 나눌 때 그가 말했습니다. “영문은 모르겠지만 나는 당신이 나눈 것을 믿고 있는 나 자신을 발견했습니다. 나는 당신이 말한 모든 것을 믿습니다.” 그는 피할 수 없었습니다. 들음에서 믿음이 오기 때문입니다! 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내가 당신의 말씀을 공부하고 묵상할 때 나는 그리스도 안에 있는 나의 유업을 발견하며, 그리스도 안에서 내게 주신 모든 것을 누리고 취할 수 있는 믿음을 받습니다. 나의 믿음은 언제나 승리합니다. 상황은 나의 믿음 가득한 고백과 일치하게 되고 나는 그리스도의 복음의 충만한 축복 가운데 살며 내 세상을 다스리고 통치하며 정복합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

The Word Imparts Faith
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”(Romans 10:17).
The Word of God imparts faith. You might have noticed that sometimes as you sit listening to, or studying God’s Word, your spirit becomes energized. At such times, all the challenges you may have been facing suddenly seem like nothing. The reason is that at that moment, the Word you’re receiving stirs faith in your heart.
The Word of God is spiritual; therefore, it’s even more real than the physical things that your senses perceive. That’s why, when you receive the Word into your spirit, a spiritual reaction is ignited between your spirit and the Word of God that gives you dominion over circumstances. When that reaction takes place, faith rises in you like a giant and you have the assurance of victory.
Even if you thought your faith was little or small, Jesus said that little faith can do great things; it can literally move a mountain (Luke 17:6). Or, perhaps, you’re thinking, “I don’t have faith”; our opening verse tells us how to get it: faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Whenever you think you don’t have enough faith, it means it’s time for you to hear more of God’s Word. The Word will, of a necessity, impart faith to you; it’s a principle of the Kingdom of God. You don’t have to struggle for it to happen; if you’d pay attention to the Word of God, faith will come to you.
It reminds me of a certain young man who came for one of our meetings years ago. He came in saying he didn’t believe and wasn’t going to believe any of the things we were sharing. But his friends convinced him to come nonetheless. So, he sat in the meeting, trying not to believe. But he was “hearing” the message (remember, faith comes by hearing).
Later on, when I had a chat with him, he said, “Somehow, I found myself accepting the things you shared; I believe everything you said.” He couldn’t escape it, because faith comes when you hear the Word! Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, as I study and meditate on your Word, I discover my inheritance in Christ, and I also receive the faith to relate with, and enjoy all that you’ve made available to me in Christ. My faith prevails always; circumstances align with my faith-filled confessions and I rule, reign and dominate my world as I walk in the full blessings of the Gospel of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
