“이는 정하신 사람으로 하여금 천하를 공의로 심판할 날을 작정하시고 이에 그를 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리신 것으로 모든 사람에게 믿을 만한 증거를 주셨음이니라 하니라”(행 17:31)
오늘의 본문 구절은 예수님께서 의로 세상을 심판하실 것이라고 말합니다. 예수 그리스도는 심판자이십니다. 아버지는 아무도 심판하지 않으십니다. 하나님은 모든 심판을 예수님께 맡겼습니다. “아버지께서 아무도 심판하지 아니하시고 심판을 다 아들에게 맡기셨으니”(요 5:22).
또한 사도행전 10:42을 통해 우리는 예수님께서 하나님에 의해 모든 사람의 심판자로 임명되셨음을 알 수 있습니다. “또 그분께서 우리에게 명령하사 백성에게 선포하게 하시고 하나님께서 산 자와 죽은 자의 심판자로 정하신 이가…”
디모데후서 4:1에서도 성령님께서는 사도 바울을 통해 비슷한 말씀을 전하셨습니다. “그러므로 내가 하나님 앞과 주 예수 그리스도 앞에서 곧 친히 나타나실 때에 자신의 왕국에서 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하실 분 앞에서 네게 명하노니.”
그리스도의 심판대는 고린도후서 5:10에 설명되어 있습니다. “이는 우리가 다 반드시 그리스도의 심판대 앞에 나타나게 되어 각각 선악 간에 그 몸으로 행한 것을 따라 받으려 함이라.” 그리스도의 심판대는 하나님의 백성인 그리스도인들의 심판대이며 우리가 각자의 상급을 주님께 받는 자리입니다. 모든 사람이 다 칭찬을 받을 것입니다(고전 4:5).
예수님께서 이 땅에 재림하실 때, 모든 민족을 심판하실 것입니다. “인자가 자기 영광으로 모든 천사와 함께 올 때에 자기 영광의 보좌에 앉으리니 모든 민족을 그 앞에 모으고 각각 구분하기를 목자가 양과 염소를 구분하는 것 같이 하여”(마 25:31-32).
그리고 요한계시록 20장에서 우리는 예수님께서 죄인들을 위해 예비된 모든 심판 중에서 가장 두려운 심판을 집행하시는 것을 발견합니다. 이는 백보좌의 심판이라고 불립니다. “또 내가 크고 흰 보좌와 그 위에 앉으신 이를 보니 땅과 하늘이 그 앞에서 피하여 간 데 없더라”(계 20:11).
이 심판들이 그리 멀지 않았습니다. 그러므로 진심으로 주님을 섬기고 주님의 재림을 기다리며 날마다 주님을 위해 살아가십시오.

귀하신 아버지, 나에게 당신의 왕국을 위해 섬길 수 있는 기회를 주셔서 감사합니다. 구원의 메시지로 내 세상에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 특권을 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 나의 구세주 예수 그리스도의 영광스러운 나타나심을 기다립니다. 아멘.

Jesus Christ Is The Judge Of All
“…he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness…”(Acts 17:31).
The verse above says Jesus will judge the world in righteousness. Jesus Christ is the judge. The Father judges no man; He committed all judgment to Jesus: “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son…” (John 5:22).
Also, in Acts 10:42 NIV, we see that Jesus was appointed by God to be the judge of all men: “He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead..”
A similar thought is communicated by the Spirit in 2 Timothy 4:1 NIV through the Apostle Paul: “In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge.”
The Judgement Seat of Christ is described in 2 Corinthians 5:10: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” The Judgment Seat of Christ is the judgment of God’s people—Christians—where we each receive our rewards from the Master. Everyone will be praised (1 Corinthians 4:5).
At His return to the earth, Jesus will judge all nations: “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats” (Matthew 25:31-32).
Then, in Revelation 20, we find Jesus executing the most terrifying of all judgments which are reserved for sinners. It’s called The Great White Throne Judgment: “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them” (Revelation 20:11).
These judgments aren’t far away. Therefore, serve the Lord truly and live for Him every day as we await His soon return.

Precious Father, I thank you for the opportunity of service in your Kingdom, and the privilege to impact my world with the message of salvation as I look forward to the glorious appearing of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
