당신은 하나님께 중요한 사람입니다
YOU MEAN MORE TO HIM
“곧 내가 그들 안에 있고 아버지께서 내 안에 계시어 그들로 온전함을 이루어 하나가 되게 하려 함은 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것과 또 나를 사랑하심 같이 그들도 사랑하신 것을 세상으로 알게 하려 함이로소이다”(요17:23)
어느 날, 한 복음사역자가 저에게 와서 자신의 삶이 힘들기 때문에 목회를 그만둘까 고민한다고 말했습니다. 저는 먼저 그에게 처음 목회를 하게 된 이유를 물었습니다. 그는 하나님을 사랑했고 예수님에 대해 모든 사람에게 말하고 싶었다고 말했습니다.
그래서 저는 다음과 같이 말했습니다. “하나님이 당신을 사랑하시는 것보다 당신이 하나님을 더 사랑했다는 사실이 놀랍군요.” 그는 잠시 고민하다가 대답했습니다. “저는 그렇게 말하지 않았습니다.” 대답을 듣고 나서 제가 또 말했습니다. “그러나 당신이 한 말이 바로 그 뜻입니다.” 물론 그와 함께 성경 말씀을 다 나누고 난 뒤, 모든 것이 그에게 더 확실 해졌고, 오늘날 그는 유명한 사역자로써 주님을 위해 놀라운 일을 하고 있습니다. 하지만 그는 거의 포기할 뻔했습니다.
오늘날에도 비슷한 상황에 처한 사람들이 많이 있습니다. 어떤 사람들은 심지어 하나님께 화가 나 있습니다. 자신의 기도에도 불구하고 하나님이 그들의 상황에 “무엇인가” 하시지 않았다고 생각하기 때문입니다. 하지만 그렇지 않습니다. 그들은 하나님의 말씀 안에서 기능하고 있지 않습니다. 그들은 아마 더 많은 지식, 즉 새로운 기회를 창출할 새로운 지식이 필요할지도 모릅니다. 또 그들은 자신의 믿음을 발휘하고 있지 않을 수도 있습니다.
그러나 여기에 절대적으로 확실한 것이 있습니다. 하나님은 당신이 스스로를 사랑하는 것보다 당신을 더 사랑하십니다. 그분은 당신이 갈망하는 것보다 더 열정적으로 당신의 삶과 사역에서의 성공을 바라십니다. 하나님은 당신을 한계 없이 무조건적으로 사랑하십니다. 그러나 당신은 하나님의 말씀 안에서, 말씀을 따라 살아야 합니다. 당신이 자신을 향한 하나님의 말씀과 사랑을 이해할 때, 이 계시는 당신의 삶을 변화시키고 당신에게 특별한 사고방식을 갖게 할 것입니다.
아버지가 보시기에 당신은 예수님만큼 소중한 존재입니다! 하나님은 예수님이 당신의 자리에서 대신 죽도록 보내셨을 만큼 당신이 가치가 있다고 생각하셨습니다. 당신이 2,000달러에 휴대전화를 샀다고 상상해 보십시오. 그 가격은 당신에게 즉각적으로 휴대전화의 가치를 알려줍니다. 이와 같이 예수 그리스도가 당신을 대신해 주어졌다면, 당신은 예수 그리스도만큼의 가치가 있다는 뜻입니다.
저는 종종 당신이 이 땅에 유일한 사람일지라도 예수님은 당신을 대신하여 죽기 위해 오셨을 거라고 말합니다. 예수님은 우리가 많은 인원이기 때문에 오지 않으셨습니다. 그러므로 당신의 가치를 감사하십시오. 당신은 스스로 상상할 수 있는 것보다 하나님께 더 중요한 사람입니다. 특별한 사람처럼 생각하고, 말하고, 행하며 사십시오. 당신은 실로 그러한 자이기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!
기도
하나님은 나를 개인적으로 사랑하십니다! 나는 그분의 특별한 보물입니다. 하나님께 나의 가치는 예수님의 가치와 같습니다. 나는 특별한 사람처럼 생각하고, 말하고, 행하며 살아갑니다. 내가 실로 그러한 자이기 때문입니다! 하나님은 오늘 나를 통해 이 땅을 다스리시고, 세우시고, 그분의 사랑과 의를 전파하십니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

YOU MEAN MORE TO HIM
“I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me”(John 17:23).
One day, a minister of the Gospel came to me and said he was considering quitting the ministry because life had been difficult for him. I asked him why he went into the ministry in the first place, and he said he loved God and wanted to tell everybody about Jesus.
Then I said, “It’s wonderful that you love God more than He loves you. He thought about it and said, “No, that’s not what I said.” Then I said, “But that’s what you mean.” Of course, when I was done sharing with him from the Scriptures, things became clearer for him, and today, he’s a fabulous minister, doing amazing things for the Lord. But he almost gave up.
There’re many in similar situations today. Some are even angry with God because they think in spite of their prayers, God has refused to “do something” about their situation. But it’s not so; they’re not walking in His Word. Perhaps they need more knowledge; new knowledge that’ll create new opportunities. Perhaps, also, they’re not putting their faith to work.
But here’s what’s absolutely certain: God loves you more than you love yourself. He’s more passionate about your success in life and ministry than you could ever be. He loves you infinitely and unconditionally, but you have to live in and by His Word. When you understand His Word, and His love for you, it’ll change your life and give you an extraordinary mentality.
In the Father’s eyes, you’re as precious as Jesus is! He thought you were valuable enough to send Jesus to die in your place. Imagine you bought a phone for $2,000; that immediately shows the value of the phone to you. In the same way, if Jesus Christ was given for you, it means you’re worth Jesus Christ.
I’ve often said that even if you were the only person on earth, Jesus would still have come to die for you. He didn’t come because we were many. Therefore, appreciate your value. You mean more to Him than you could ever imagine. Think, talk, walk, and live as someone special, for indeed you are. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
God loves me personally! I’m His peculiar treasure; my value to Him is the value of Jesus. I think, talk, walk, and live as someone special, for indeed I am! God reigns, establishes, and spreads His love and righteousness on earth today through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
