Focus On The Spiritual
“위의 것을 생각하고 땅의 것을 생각하지 말라”(골 3:2)
누가복음 22장은 예수님이 제자들과 성찬을 나누시며 어떻게 그분의 임박한 죽음에 대해 말씀하셨는지 알려줍니다. 그분은 제자들 중 한 명이었던 가룟 유다가 그분을 배신할 것이라는 것을 보여주기 위해 그 상황을 활용하셨습니다. 얼마 지나지 않아 유다는 제사장들과 서기관들에게 가서 돈을 받고 그들을 예수님께로 안내하기로 했습니다.
그들이 예수님께 갔을 때 그분은 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “이제는 너희 때요 어둠의 권세로다”(눅 22:53). 그분은 왜 자신이 붙잡힐 것이라는 분명한 예언적 말씀이 있었음에도 불구하고 “이제는 너희 때요 어둠의 권세로다”라고 말씀하셨습니까? 그분은 우리의 주의를 영적인 것으로 돌리셨습니다. 즉 그분이 붙잡히는 일의 배후에는 어둠의 권세가 있다는 사실을 주목하게 하셨습니다.
이는 영적으로 깨어 있는 것에 대한 완벽한 예시입니다. 당신은 자신의 생각과 행동을 통제하는 사람이 누구인지 얼마나 의식하고 있습니까? 당신이 어떤 결정을 내릴 때, 누가 그 결정에 대한 책임을 지고 있습니까? 항상 당신의 육신적 감각에서 느껴지는 것들이 아닌 영적인 것에 초점을 맞추십시오. 당신의 행동, 생각, 갈망이 항상 하나님께 영감을 받은 것인지 확인하십시오. 성령님이 모든 일에서 당신을 이끌고 안내하게 하십시오. 당신의 생각을 그분께 고정하십시오. 골로새서 3:2은 말합니다. “위의 것을 생각하고 땅의 것을 생각하지 말라.”
영원한 하나님의 말씀에 당신의 마음을 고정하고 성령님께서 당신의 선생님이 되게 하십시오. 성경은 말합니다. “육신을 따르는 자는 육신의 일을, 영을 따르는 자는 영의 일을 생각하나니 육신의 생각은 사망이요 영의 생각은 생명과 평안이니라”(롬 8:5-6).

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 성령의 능력으로 내 마음이 말씀의 영적인 실재들, 곧 정직하고, 의롭고, 순수하고, 사랑스럽고, 좋은 평판을 받고, 덕이 있고, 칭찬받을 만한 것들에 집중하도록 의식적으로 훈련합니다. 나는 영적으로 생각하며 오직 말씀으로 인도받은 생각들만 허용합니다. 당신의 이름에 찬양과 영광을 드립니다. 아멘.

FOCUS ON THE SPIRITUAL
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2).
In Luke 22, the Bible tells us how Jesus announced His impending death as He had Communion with His disciples. He used the occasion to reveal that one of them?Judas Iscariot?would betray Him.
Shortly afterwards, Judas approached the priests and scribes and agreed to lead them to Jesus in exchange for money.
When they got to Jesus, He said to them, “When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness” (Luke 22:53). Why did Jesus say, “…this is your hour, and the power of darkness” even though the prophetic word stated clearly that He’d be arrested? He was drawing our attention to something spiritual, which is the fact that the power of darkness was behind His arrest.
This gives us a perfect example as to being spiritually alert. How conscious are you of who’s controlling your thoughts and actions? When you make a decision, who’s responsible? Always focus on the spiritual, and not on the things you perceive with your physical senses. Be sure that your actions, thoughts and desires are always God-inspired. Let the Holy Spirit lead and guide you in all things. Set your affections on Him. Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Set your mind on the eternal Word of God and let the Holy Spirit be your teacher. The Bible says, “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:5-6).
PRAYER
Dear Father, by the power of your Spirit, I consciously exercise my mind to focus on the spiritual realities of the Word, things that are honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy.
I’m spiritually minded, allowing only the thoughts guided by the Word, to the praise and glory of your Name. Amen.
