아버지의 맏아들
THE FIRSTBORN OF THE FATHER
“그는 몸인 교회의 머리시라 그가 근본이시요 죽은 자들 가운데서 먼저 나신 이시니 이는 친히 만물의 으뜸이 되려 하심이요”(골1:18)
성경은 예수님을 마리아의 맏아들이라 부르지 않았다는 사실에 주목하십시오. 그분은 “죽은 자들 가운데서 처음으로 난 맏아들”이라 불리십니다. 이는 영적 죽음에 대해 말하는 것입니다. 예수님은 영적으로 죽으셨기 때문입니다. 우리의 죄가 그분께 지워졌고(사53:6, 벧전2:24) 그분은 모든 죄인의 대표자가 되셨습니다. 그러나 의를 성취하기 위해 하나님께서는 예수님을 죽은 자 가운데서 살리셨습니다. 할렐루야!
예수님이 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하셨을 때 하나님께서는 다음과 같이 선포하셨습니다. “… 너는 내 아들이라 오늘 너를 낳았다 하셨고”(행13:33) 그래서 예수님은 아버지의 맏아들, 곧 아버지의 장자라 불리십니다. 예수님이 죽기 전에는 독생자라 불리셨습니다.
예수님이 아버지의 맏아들이라는 것은 그분이 머리시고 교회인 우리가 그분의 몸이라는 뜻입니다. 하나님께서는 예수님을 그분의 몸과 함께 죽은 자 가운데서 일으키셨습니다. 그러므로 우리는 그분과 뗄 수 없는 하나입니다. 예수님은 하나님으로부터 난 새로운 피조물들을 이끄십니다.
성경은 말합니다. “하나님이 미리 아신 자들을 또한 그 아들의 형상을 본받게 하기 위하여 미리 정하셨으니 이는 그로 많은 형제 중에서 맏아들이 되게 하려 하심이니라”(롬8:29) 예수님은 우리 중 첫째이시며, 그분이 그러하듯이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러합니다! 할렐루야!
예수님은 하나님의 영광이십니다. 그리고 우리도 예수님처럼 하나님의 영광입니다. 성경은 예수님이 많은 아들들을 이끌어 영광에 들어가게 하셨다고 말합니다(히2:10). 그분은 거듭난 첫번째 아들이셨습니다. 우리는 예수님처럼 썩지 않을 씨, 살아 있고 항상 있는 하나님의 말씀으로 거듭났습니다(벧전1:23). 하나님을 송축합니다!
고백
사랑하는 아버지, 나의 범죄한 것 때문에 내줌이 되고 또한 나를 의롭게 하기 위해 살아나신 예수님의 대속적 죽음에 감사드립니다. 이제 나는 그분과의 하나됨에 대한 의식 안에 살아가며, 당신의 의 안에 살고 당신의 의를 나타냅니다. 나는 영적인 영역에서 그리스도와 함께 다스리고 통치합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE FIRSTBORN OF THE FATHER
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence”(Colossians 1:18).
Notice that the Bible didn’t call Jesus the firstborn from Mary; rather, He’s called “the firstborn from the dead.” It’s talking about spiritual death, because Jesus died spiritually. Our sins were laid on him (Isaiah 53:6; 1 Peter 2:24) as He was the representative of all sinners. But upon fulfilling the righteous demands of justice, God raised him from the dead. Hallelujah!
When He was raised from the dead, God declared: “…Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee” (Acts 13:33). That’s why He’s called the first begotten or firstborn of the Father. Before His death, He was called the only begotten of the Father.
Jesus being the firstborn of the Father means He’s the Head and we, the Church, are His Body. God raised Him from the dead together with His Body. We’re therefore inextricably one with Him. He heads up the new creation who are begotten of the Father.
The Bible says “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Romans 8:29). He’s the first among us, and as He is, so are we in this world! Hallelujah!
He is the glory of God; and like Him, we are the glory of God. The Bible says He has brought many sons to glory (Hebrews 2:10). He was the first to be born again; and like Him, we’ve been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which lives and abides forever (1 Peter 1:23). Blessed be God!
CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you for the vicarious death of Jesus in my behalf, who was delivered for my offences, and was raised again for my justification. Now, I walk in the consciousness of my oneness with Him, walking in, and manifesting your righteousness; reigning and ruling with Christ from the heavenly realms, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
