“너희는 강하고 담대하라 두려워하지 말라 그들 앞에서 떨지 말라 이는 네 하나님 여호와 그가 너와 함께 가시며 결코 너를 떠나지 아니하시며 버리지 아니하실 것임이라 하고”(신 31:6)
오늘날 많은 사람들은 두려움에 굴복하여 그것에 대해 말하는 불안정한 상황에 처해 있습니다. 구약에서 욥의 경험을 통해 얻을 수 있는 중요한 교훈을 생각해 보십시오. 욥은 의로운 사람이었으며 주님의 신실한 종이었습니다. 그러나 그는 두려움을 통해 사탄이 그의 삶을 파괴할 기회를 주었습니다.
사탄은 욥을 공격하기 위해 시도했지만 실패했습니다. 욥은 신성하게 보호받고 있었기 때문입니다. 그의 주변에는 영적 울타리가 있었습니다(욥 1:8-10). 그러나 욥기 3:25에서 욥이 스스로 한 말은 사탄이 결국 어떻게 그 울타리 안으로 침입하여 그를 공격할 수 있었는지 보여줍니다. “내가 제일 두려워하던 일이 이루어졌고 가장 무서워하던 일이 벌어졌다.”(MSG)

악한 보고들로 인해 두려움에 굴복하지 마십시오. 악한 보고란, 복음과 일치하지 않는 보고입니다. 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 권세, 특권, 능력, 유업을 부인하는 것들은 악한 보고입니다. 예를 들어, 당신의 건강에 대해 어떤 예후가 있거나 어떤 진단을 받았는지는 중요하지 않습니다. 오히려 당신은 건강하다고 지속적으로 선포하십시오.
모세가 가나안을 정탐하라고 보낸 열두 명의 리더들 중 담대하게 그들의 믿음을 말한 갈렙과 여호수아와 같이 사십시오. 성경은 다른 리더들은 거인들에 대한 두려움으로 가득 찬 악한 보고를 가지고 돌아왔다고 말합니다. 그러나 갈렙과 여호수아는 다른 열 명의 정탐꾼들이 한탄하며 말한 거인들에 대해 이렇게 선포했습니다. “그들은 우리의 먹이라 그들의 보호자는 그들에게서 떠났고 여호와는 우리와 함께 하시느니라 그들을 두려워하지 말라”(민 14:9)
이것이 믿음의 고백입니다. 그리고 당신의 믿음은 세상을 이기는 승리입니다(요일 5:4).

Voice Faith Not Fear
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Many today are in precarious situations for yielding to, and voicing their fears. Consider the important lesson from Job’s experience in the Old Testament. Job was a righteous man, a faithful servant of the Lord, but through fear, he gave Satan the opportunity to wreak havoc in his life.
Satan had tried unsuccessfully to attack Job, because he was divinely protected; there was a spiritual hedge around him (Job 1:8-10). However, the words of Job himself in Job 3:25 reveal how Satan was eventually able to penetrate the hedge to attack him. Job said, “The worst of my fears has come true, what I’ve dreaded most has happened” (MSG).
Despite God’s protection over his life, which even Satan attested to, Job voiced his fears. In the twenty-sixth verse, he said, “I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came” (Job 3:26). But he was in safety until he broke the hedge. He spoke contrary to the Word of God; God could not legally protect him beyond his confessions; and that’s just like many today, who talk fear or give voice to words inspired by fear.
Never yield to fear, because of an evil report. An evil report is any report that isn’t consistent with the provisions of the Gospel; anything that negates your rights, privileges, ability, and heritage in Christ Jesus. It doesn’t matter what the prognosis or diagnosis is concerning your health, for example, refuse to fear. Rather, keep declaring that you’re in health.
Be like Caleb and Joshua, of the twelve leaders Moses sent to spy out Canaan, who boldly voiced their faith. The Bible says the others came back with an evil report of fear concerning the giants: but Caleb and Joshua declared, They said concerning the same giants that the other ten spies lamented about, “They are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not” (Numbers 14:9).
That’s the voice of faith, and your faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).
Prayer
Precious Father, your Word is my life and my rock, the solid ground on which I stand. I’m not moved by what I feel, see or hear; I’m only moved by your Word. Thus, I’m like a tree by the stream, prosperous and ever fruitful, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
