그리스도의 교회를 세우십시오
Building The Church Of Christ

“또 내가 네게 이르노니 너는 베드로라 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세우리니 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하리라”(마 16:18)

교회는 예수 그리스도께 중요합니다. 에베소서 5장 30절(한글킹제임스)는 “이는 우리가 그의 몸과 그의 살과 그의 뼈의 지체임이라”고 말합니다. 교회는 그분의 몸입니다. 그러므로 그분께서 “내 교회를 세우리니”라고 말씀하실 때 그분은 그리스도의 몸에 대해 말씀하신 것이며 이는 나와 당신, 전 세계의 모든 형제자매들을 뜻합니다. 그러나 예수님은 이미 천국에 가셨는데 어떻게 그분의 교회를 세우실 수 있습니까?

성경은 이렇게 말합니다. “그가 어떤 사람은 사도로, 어떤 사람은 선지자로, 어떤 사람은 복음 전하는 자로, 어떤 사람은 목사와 교사로 삼으셨으니 이는 성도를 온전하게 하여 봉사의 일을 하게 하며 그리스도의 몸을 세우려 하심이라”(엡 4:11-12) 이 구절에서 쓰인 “세운다”는 단어는 그리스도의 몸을 건축한다고 할 때 쓰이는 “건축하다”와 같은 의미입니다. 따라서 오중사역의 은사의 목적은 그리스도의 몸을 건축하는 것입니다. 그분은 그분의 몸을 우리를 통해 건축하고 계십니다.

우리 모두가 각자의 삶의 영역에서 사람들을 그리스도께 인도하는 영혼 구원에 헌신할 때 우리는 하나님의 강력한 건축물을 세우고 있는 것입니다!

솔로몬이 하나님의 집을 지을 때 히람에게 메시지를 보냈던 일을 기억해 보십시오. “부디 목재들을 좀 보내주십시오. 내가 하나님을 위해 지으려고 하는 전은 참으로 아름다운 건물입니다.”(열왕기상 5장을 읽어보십시오.)

그리스도의 몸의 아름다움은 오늘날 더욱 대단합니다. 할렐루야! 성경은 그분이 예루살렘을 세워 그것으로 땅에서 찬양이 되게 하시기 전까지는 그분이 쉬지 못한다고 말합니다(사 62:7). 이는 예수 그리스도의 교회가 이 땅에서 가장 아름다운 생명체가 되기 전까지 입니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

또한 그분의 몸의 지체로서 당신이 어디에 있든지 상관 없습니다. 당신은 강하게 세워지고 있습니다. 당신의 믿음은 자라나고 있습니다. 당신은 날마다 강해지고 있습니다! 그분은 사도행전 20장 32절에서 말씀하셨습니다. “지금 내가 여러분을 주와 및 그 은혜의 말씀에 부탁하노니 그 말씀이 여러분을 능히 든든히 세우사 거룩하게 하심을 입은 모든 자 가운데 기업이 있게 하시리라”

고백
나는 그분의 몸과 살과 뼈의 지체입니다! 나의 믿음은 삶의 역경들을 물리치기 위해 강하게 세워졌으며 나는 오늘 그리고 항상 영광스럽게 승리합니다. 주님은 나의 복음 전파를 통해 그분의 몸을 세우고 계십니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!

BUILDING THE CHURCH OF CHRIST

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18).

The Church is important to Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:30 says, “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” The Church is His body. So, when He said, “I will build my church,” He was talking about the body of Christ, and that’s you and I; all our brothers and sisters around the world. But how can He build His church when He’s gone to heaven?

The Bible says, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12). The word, “edifying” here is “building.” So, the purpose of the five-fold ministry gifts is building the body of Christ. He’s building His body through us.

As we all commit to soul winning, leading men and women to Christ in our respective spheres of contact, we’re building God’s powerful super structure! Remember, when Solomon was building God a house, he sent a message to Hiram and said, “Please send me materials. The house that I want to build for God is a magnificent building” (Read 1 Kings 5). But you know what? The magnificence of the body of Christ today is even greater. Hallelujah!

The Bible says we’ll not give Him rest until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62:7); until the Church of Jesus Christ is shown to be the most beautiful living thing on the face of the earth. Glory to God!

Moreover, as a member of that body, it doesn’t matter where you’ve been; you’re being built strong; your faith is growing; you’re getting stronger by the day! He said in Acts 20:32, “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”

CONFESSION
I’m a member of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones! My faith is built strong to repel the adversities of life, and I triumph gloriously today and always. The Lord is building His body through me, by my vital participation in the spread of the Gospel. Praise God!

사랑으로 관계 맺으십시오
Relate In Love

“누가 누구에게 불만이 있거든 서로 용납하여 피차 용서하되 주께서 너희를 용서하신 것 같이 너희도 그리하고”(골 3:13)

오늘날 세계에서는 편협함을 내보이는 일이 많습니다. 자신의 화를 조절할 수 없는 사람들을 쉽게 찾을 수 있습니다. 사소한 일들이 그들을 격분시키고, 그리스도인에 어울리지 않는 분노를 표출하게 만듭니다. 그들은 “저는 그 형제 혹은 그 자매를 견딜 수 없어요.”라는 말들을 합니다. 심지어 당신은 교회에 대한 반복적인 불만과 투덜거림도 들을 수 있습니다. “나는 이 곳을 견딜 수 없어요. 제가 이 교회에 계속 올 수 있을 것 같지 않아요.” 그들에게는 더 이상 참을 수 없는 사람, 장소, 일들이 있습니다. 그렇게 되지 마십시오!

생각해보십시오. 성경은 “그의 영으로 하늘들을 단장하셨고…”(욥 26:13, 한글킹제임스) 라고 말합니다. 성령님은 온 세상을 창조하시고 하늘을 아름답게 하신 분이지만, 그분은 너무나도 겸손하고 자비로우셔서 당신 안에 살기 위해 오셨습니다. 그분의 모든 위대함과 위엄 안에서, 그분은 당신이 그분의 살아있는 집, 살아있는 성전이 될 자격이 있다고 생각하십니다. 그분은 당신의 불완전함과 독특함에도 불구하고 “난 이 사람을 견딜 수 없어”라고 말하지 않으십니다.

왜 당신은 어떤 사람을 어떤 이유에서든지 더 이상 견딜 수 없다고 말해야 합니까? 왜 당신은 분노하거나 싫어하는 사람을 찾아야 합니까? 성령님께서 당신 안에 오셔서 사실 수 있었다면 겸손하십시오. 그분을 본받으십시오. 성경은 “그러므로 사랑을 받는 자녀 같이 너희는 하나님을 본받는 자가 되고 그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라…”(엡 5:1-2) 그분이 당신의 중심이 되게 하십시오. 당신이 예수님을 사랑한다면 이는 당신과 다른 사람들과의 관계에서 나타날 것입니다.

오늘의 본문 구절은 “서로 용납하십시오”라고 말합니다. 그리스도 안에서 당신의 형제자매들을 받아들이고 용납하도록 겸손하십시오. 성경은 누구든지 “마땅히 생각할 그 이상의 생각을 품지 말고”(롬 12:3) 살아야 한다고 말합니다. 하나님은 당신이 스스로를 높이 평가하기를 기대하시지만, 다른 사람들과 비교해서 자신을 높이는 것은 아닙니다.

만약 당신이 분노와 편협함의 특징을 드러낸다면, 의식적으로 자기 자신을 말씀으로 재구성하십시오. 당신의 삶에서 하나님의 사랑만을 발산하십시오.

 

고백

나는 모든 겸손과 온유와 인내로 다른 사람들과 사랑의 관계를 맺고, 내 세상에 대한 하나님의 사랑을 아낌없이 표현합니다. 성령으로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑이 나의 마음에 부은 바 되었기 때문에 나는 다른 사람들을 받아들이고, 자비롭고, 친절합니다. 나는 그들의 단점과 불완전함을 용납합니다.

RELATE IN LOVE

Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13 GNB).

In today’s world, winds of intolerance are blowing strongly. It’s common to find those who can’t control their temper. Little things infuriate them and make them exhibit such anger that’s unbecoming of Christians. They’d make such comments as, “I can’t stand that brother or sister.” You could even hear their persistent complaints and whining about the Church premises: “I can’t stand this place; it’s just somehow; I don’t think I’ll keep coming to this Church.” They have people, places, and things they can’t tolerate. Don’t be that way!

But think about it: The Bible says, “By his (God’s) spirit he hath garnished the heavens…” (Job 26:13). The Holy Spirit created the whole world and beautified the Heavens, yet He’s so humble and so gracious to come live in you. In all His greatness and magnificence, He considers you qualified to be His house, His living tabernacle. In spite of your imperfections and idiosyncrasies, He still loves you. Why then should you, for whatever reason, say you can’t stand someone else? Why should you resent or find anyone repulsive?

If the Holy Ghost could come to live in you, then be humble. Emulate Him, for the Bible says, “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us…” (Ephesians 5:1-2). Let Him be your focus. If you love Jesus, it’ll show in your relationship with others.

Our theme verse says, “Be tolerant with one another….” Be humble to accommodate and tolerate your brothers and sisters in Christ. The Bible says no one should “…think of himself more highly than he ought to think…” (Romans 12:3). God expects you to think highly of yourself, but you’re not to exalt yourself above others.

If you found yourself exhibiting traits of resentment and intolerance, consciously re-culture yourself with the Word. Be sure to only give vent to the love of God in your life.

CONFESSION
With all humility, gentleness, and patience, I relate with others graciously, lavishly expressing God’s love to my world. I’m accommodative and kind towards others, giving allowance for their shortcomings and imperfections, because the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost.

You’re A Role Model

다니엘 12장 3절은 말합니다. “지혜 있는 자는 궁창의 빛과 같이 빛날 것이요…” “빛나다”라는 단어의 히브리어 원어는 “zahar”이며, 이는 영감을 준다는 뜻입니다. 그러므로 당신은 다른 사람들에게 영감을 주도록 부름 받았습니다. 당신은 리더십을 가지고 있습니다. 당신은 본보기입니다.

YOU’RE A ROLE MODEL

Brethren, together follow my example and observe those who live after the pattern we have set for you (Philippians 3:17 AMPC).

Daniel 12:3 says, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament….” The word translated “Shine” here in the Hebrew is “zâhar” and it means, among other things, to inspire. So, you’re called to inspire others; to give leadership. You’re a role model.

That’s what Jesus meant when He said, “Ye are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14), and as earlier inferred, light gives leadership. This lets you know your calling as a Christian. But the question is, how are you inspiring others?

It’s something spiritual. It’s not about how many want to dress like you or wear your kind of hairdo. If that’s all that’s inspiring about you, it’s not good enough, because those are fleshly things. Let people be motivated by the move of the Holy Spirit in your life. Let those around you be inspired by the love of God and the wisdom of God that flow out of you.

For example, it was declared concerning Daniel that “…an excellent spirit was in him…” (Daniel 6:3). He had excellent wisdom. It should be the same about you. Let the light of God and His wisdom be seen in you, so much so that when you speak, great drops of wisdom effuse from you to bless people.

The Apostle Paul made the profound and audacious statement we read in our opening verse. Can you say the same thing to those around you? Notice he didn’t say, “Pattern your life after God,” even though that’s implied; rather, he said, “Follow my example.”

Have the same consciousness, because you’re the God-man, the Christ-man in your world today. You’re a light in a dark world; so, shine ever so brightly. Inspire your world. You’ve been empowered for it. Train and inspire others in the way of the Lord; be an example and a mentor to others. Let men see your good works and glorify the Lord.

CONFESSION
I’m the light of the world, sent forth to illuminate my world. This is my calling in life, and I know it. I’m a role model; everywhere I go, I shine like the brightness of the heavens, inspiring men and women to righteousness. Glory to God!

환난 중에 즐거워합니다

“그들은 그리스도의 종이냐? (내가 정신 없는 것 같이 말하지만) 나는 더욱 그러하다. 내가 더 많이 수고하였고, 매도 헤아릴 수 없이 맞았고, 더 빈번히 감옥에 갇혔고, 죽을 고비를 여러 번 당하였으니 유대인들로부터 사십에 하나 뺀 매를 다섯 번이나 맞았고 세 번 몽둥이로 맞았으며 한 번은 돌로 맞았고…”(고후 11:23-27, 한글킹제임스)

사도 바울은 사역을 하면서 많은 시련을 경험했습니다. 그는 심한 박해를 받았습니다. 오늘의 본문 구절을 다시 읽어보면 그가 죽을 고비를 여러 번 경험했고, 감옥에 있을 때는 그의 모든 친구들이 그를 버렸습니다(딤후 1:15).

그는 복음을 위해 고난을 겪었음에도 불구하고 로마서 5장 3-4절에서 우리에게 영감을 주는 말을 하고 있습니다. 3절에서는 “…우리가 환난 중에도 즐거워하나니”라고 말합니다. 얼마나 신성한 생각인지요! 이는 어려운 시기가 있을 수도 있지만 그것은 우리의 영광을 위한 것이라는 의미입니다. 우리는 환난 중에도 즐거워합니다. 할렐루야!

이는 야고보서 1장 2절에서 야고보가 말한 것과 동일합니다. “내 형제들아 너희가 여러 가지 시험을 당하거든 온전히 기쁘게 여기라” 문제가 무엇이든지, 어떤 환난을 직면하고 있든지 상관없이 기뻐하십시오. 오늘 당신이 마주할 도전이 무엇이든지 그것은 당신에게 딱 맞춰진 것입니다. 그 도전은 당신의 진급과 영광을 위한 것입니다.

그러므로 당신의 심령을 괴롭게 두지 마십시오. 오늘 일어나는 상황이 힘들고 어려워 보일 수도 있습니다. 표면적으로는 당신의 말씀 고백과 복음에 대한 헌신이 어떤 결과도 가져오고 있지 않는 것처럼 보일 수도 있습니다. 그렇다 할지라도 허둥대지 마십시오! 그리스도와 그분의 영원한 말씀에 집중하십시오.

저는 이에 대해 바울이 고린도후서 4장 16절에서 말한 탁월한 표현을 좋아합니다. “그러므로 우리가 낙심하지 아니하노니 우리의 겉사람은 낡아지나 우리의 속사람은 날로 새로워지도다” 우리는 파괴될 수 없습니다. 그는 17-18절에서도 이어서 말했습니다. “우리가 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 중한 것을 우리에게 이루게 함이니 우리가 주목하는 것은 보이는 것이 아니요 보이지 않는 것이니 보이는 것은 잠깐이요 보이지 않는 것은 영원함이라”

말씀을 붙잡으십시오. 아브라함처럼 바랄 수 없는 중에도 소망 가운데서 믿고(롬 4:18), 어떤 일이 일어나든지 당신이 승리할 것이라는 사실을 아십시오. 로마서 12:12는 우리에게 소망 가운데 즐거워하고 환난 중에 인내하라고 말합니다. 밤이 어둡고 길 수 있지만, 아침에 기쁨이 있다는 것은 보장되어 있습니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

고백
내 소망은 나의 주 그리스도께 있습니다. 나는 어떤 시험이나 시련을 당하더라도 온전히 기쁨으로 여깁니다. 나는 어떤 시험이나 시련에 상관없이 기쁨을 누립니다. 나는 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 고귀한 부르심의 상을 위하여 그 표적을 향해 쫓아갑니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

GLORYING IN TRIBULATION

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned… (2 Corinthians 11:23-25).

The Apostle Paul experienced great deal of tribulations during his ministry. He was severely persecuted. Read our opening scripture again; He faced death at different times, and at a point, he was abandoned by all his friends while in prison (2 Timothy 1:15).

Nonetheless, in spite of all that he suffered for the sake of the Gospel, he penned such inspiring words in Romans 5:3, part of which says, “…we glory in tribulations….” Blessed thought! Meaning that there can be hard times, but they’re for our glory. Hallelujah! It’s a reiteration of what James said in James 1:2, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”

No matter the trouble, no matter the tribulation that you face, rejoice. Whatever challenge you may be facing today is tailor-made for you; it’s for your promotion and glory. Therefore, let not your heart be troubled. Things may seem tough and difficult today. Outwardly, it may look as though your confessions of the Word and commitment to the Gospel aren’t yielding any result; remain unflustered! Keep your focus on Christ and His eternal Word.

I love the inspiring way Paul puts it in 2 Corinthians 4:16. He said, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” We’re indestructible. He continued in verses 17 and 18: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Hold on to the Word. Like Abraham, against hope, believe in hope (Romans 4:18), knowing that no matter what happens, you’ll win. Romans 12:12 tells us to rejoice in hope and be patient in tribulation. The night may be dark and long, but guaranteed: joy comes in the morning. Glory to God!

CONFESSION
My hope is built on Christ, my Lord. I count it all joy, irrespective of the tests and trials that come my way. I press on in faith, towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, with the confident assurance of the unfading crown of glory laid up for me. Glory to God!

Maintaining Order

“모든 것을 품위 있게 하고 질서 있게 하라”(고전 14:40)

요한복음 6장은 예수님이 행하신 놀라운 기적을 기록하고 있습니다. 그분은 약 5천 명의 사람들을 가르치셨습니다.(여성과 아이는 포함되지 않았습니다.) 몇몇 제자들은 사람들이 오랜 시간 예수님과 함께 있었음을 보고, 먹을 음식을 구해오도록 예수님께 그들을 보내달라고 요청했습니다.

그러나 예수님께서는 “무엇을 가지고 있느냐?”고 물으셨습니다. 안드레는 “여기 한 소년이 보리빵 다섯 덩어리와 작은 물고기 두 마리를 가지고 있나이다. 그러나 이것들이 이처럼 많은 사람에게 얼마나 되겠나이까?”라고 대답했습니다(요 6:9, 한글킹제임스). 예수님은 제자들의 의심을 무시하고, 대신 사람들을 풀밭에 앉히고 식사할 자리를 잡아야 한다고 말씀하셨습니다.

예수님은 그런 난장판에서는 그들을 위해 어떤 일도 하실 수 없었습니다. 그분은 질서를 요구하셨습니다. 그분께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “이 사람들로 앉게 하라 하시니 그곳에 잔디가 많은지라 사람들이 앉으니 수가 오천 명쯤 되더라”(요 6:10) 당신의 삶에서 질서를 유지하는 법을 배우십시오. 성령님은 혼돈의 분위기 속에서는 흥왕하지 않으십니다. 당신의 영이 어수선한 이상, 당신은 성령님과 함께 효과적으로 행할 수 없습니다. 그분은 혼란의 창시자가 아니십니다(고전 14:33).

기적을 원한다면 당신에게는 질서가 필요합니다. 질서는 많은 사람들의 삶에서 사라진 요소이며, 사람들은 왜 기적이 자신들을 피해가는지 의아해합니다. 절대 무질서하게 행동하지 마십시오. 무질서하게 행하는 것은 하나님의 말씀과 반대되게 행하는 것입니다. 미리 정해진 질서를 따르십시오. 말씀을 따르십시오. 신성한 결과를 원한다면 말씀의 방식대로 행하십시오.

모세가 성전을 지으려고 할 때, 주님께서 미리 정해진 모형을 따라 건축하라고 주의를 주셨던 것을 생각해 보십시오(히 8:5). 당신만의 “방식”대로 행할 수 없습니다. 하나님의 일들은 반드시 하나님의 방식으로 이루어져야 합니다. 당신이 질서를 따라 행하지 않는다면 하나님께서는 당신에게 영광을 베풀지 않을 것입니다.

질서를 유지하고, 일들이 이루어지는 것을 보십시오. 당신은 어떤 대상을 위해 혹은 어떤 일을 이루기 위해 고군분투할 필요가 없을 것입니다. 당신이 그분의 행동양식에 따라 하나님의 말씀의 빛 가운데 행한다면 당신은 언제나 그분의 영광과 은혜를 가지게 될 것입니다.

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 당신의 말씀에 완전히 양도되고 당신의 신성한 지시를 따라 질서 있게 행합니다. 나는 무질서하거나, 제멋대로 굴거나, 훈련되지 않거나, 법을 무시하기를 거절합니다. 나는 주저하지 않고 신속하게 당신의 지시를 따라 움직입니다. 그러므로 나는 날마다 기적 가운데 삽니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

MAINTAINING ORDER

Let all things be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40).

John 6 records for us an amazing miracle Jesus performed. He had just finished teaching a crowd of about five thousand men (women and the children not counted). Seeing that the crowd had been with Him for long, some of the disciples requested that He sent them away, so they could get food for themselves.

However, Jesus asked, “What do you have?” Andrew answered, “There’s a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But that’s a drop in the bucket for a crowd like this” (John 6:9 MSG). Jesus ignored their doubts and, instead, told the disciples to have everyone sit on the grass and settle in for a meal.

Jesus couldn’t do anything for them in that rowdy condition; He requested for some orderliness. He said, “…Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand” (John 6:10).

In your life, learn to maintain order. The Spirit doesn’t thrive in an atmosphere of chaos. As long as there’s disorder in your spirit, you can’t walk effectively with the Holy Spirit. He’s not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33).

If you want to have a miracle, then you need order. This is the missing element in the lives of many, and they wonder why the miraculous eludes them. Never find yourself, in one way or the other, walking disorderly; that is, walking at cross purposes with the Word of God. Follow the prescribed order of things; follow the Word. Do things the Word way if you want divine results.

Consider that the Lord cautioned Moses to build the tabernacle, following the prescribed order (Hebrews 8:5). You can’t do things your own way; God’s things must be done God’s way. He won’t honour you if you’re out of order.

Maintain order, and see things move. You won’t have to struggle to get things done. As long as you’re walking in the light of God’s Word, according to His mode of operation, you’ll always have His honour and grace.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I’m completely yielded to your Word, and walking according to your divine instructions, in an orderly manner. I refuse to be disorderly, unruly, indisciplined or lawless; I act on your instructions swiftly without hesitation. Therefore, I experience the miraculous every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

말씀을 심으십시오
Sowing The Word

“씨를 뿌리는 자가 그 씨를 뿌리러 나가서 뿌릴새…”(눅 8:5)

주 예수님은 누가복음 8장에서 씨 뿌리는 자의 비유를 말씀하셨습니다. “씨 뿌리는 자가 그 씨를 뿌리러 나가서 뿌릴새…” 그리고 11절에서 씨 뿌리는 자가 심은 씨는 하나님의 말씀이라고 설명하십니다.

주목할 만한 사실은 그분께서 “씨 뿌리는 자가 씨를 뿌리기 위해 들어갔다”고 말씀하지 않으셨다는 점입니다. 오히려 그분은 우리에게 “그가 하나님의 말씀을 심기 위해 나갔다!”고 말씀하십니다. 그러므로 우리는 밖에 있는 사람들에 대한 말씀의 사역을 가지고 있습니다. 우리는 말씀을 심기 위해 반드시 밖으로 나가야 합니다.

이는 마가복음 16장 15절에 나오는 “가라”, 즉 위대한 명령을 우리에게 상기시켜 줍니다. 주님은 말씀하셨습니다. “…너희는 온 세상에 가서 모든 피조물에게 복음을 전파하라.”(한글킹제임스) 그리고 20절에서 “그 후 제자들이 나가서 곳곳마다 복음을 전파하니 주께서 그들과 함께 역사하시고 또 따르는 표적들로 말씀을 확고하게 하시더라. 아멘.”(한글킹제임스) 그들은 말씀을 심기 위해, 복음을 전하기 위해 밖으로 나갔습니다.

바깥 세상은 죄인들이 있는 곳이며 그곳이 바로 우리의 선교지입니다. 바쁜 인생의 기로에서 우리는 망가진 인류를 만나게 됩니다. 우리의 임무는 모든 믿는 자들에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력인 복음을 그들에게 가져가는 것입니다.

그러므로 무엇을 하든지 말씀을 심으십시오. 말씀을 전파하십시오. 시간이 얼마 없으므로 그 어떤 때보다도 지금 영혼들을 구원하십시오. 영혼구원을 위해 강하고 담대하십시오. 그 무엇도 잃어버린 영혼들에 대한 당신의 열정을 소멸시키지 못하게 하십시오.

당신은 “그들이 내 말을 듣지 않으면 어떡하나요?”라고 물을 수도 있습니다. 그것에 대해 걱정하지 마십시오. 예수님께서 이미 우리에게 씨 뿌리는 자의 비유를 나누실 때(막 4:4-8) 우리가 마주하게 될 다양한 반응에 대해 말씀해주셨습니다. 당신의 말을 듣는 사람들이 틀림없이 있으며, 말씀은 그들 안에서 의의 열매들을 맺을 것입니다. 이것이 우리의 기쁨과 집중이 되어야 합니다.

SOWING THE WORD

A sower went out to sow his seed… (Luke 8:5).

The Lord Jesus gave a parable of the sower in Luke 8, saying, “A sower went out to sow his seed…” (Luke 8:5). Then in the eleventh verse, He explained that the seed the sower sowed was the Word of God. However, something striking to observe is the fact that He didn’t say, “The sower went in to sow his seed.” Rather, He tells us “He went OUT to sow the Word!”

This lets us know that we have a ministry of the Word to those outside; we must go out to sow the Word. It reminds of the “great Go,” the great commission, in Mark 16:15. The Lord said, “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Then in the 20th verse, it says, “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” They went out to sow the Word, to preach the Gospel.

Out in the world is where the sinners are; that’s our mission field: the hedges, the busy crossroads of life—where you have the rendezvous of broken humanity. Our job is to take the Gospel to them, for that’s the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.

Therefore, no matter what you do, sow the Word; preach the Word. Win souls now, more than ever, because the time is short. Be dauntless and resolute in your soul-winning efforts. Let nothing dissipate your passion for lost souls.

You might say, “What if they don’t listen to me?” Don’t worry about that. Jesus already told us about the different responses we might get when He narrated the parable of the sower (Read Mark 4:4-8). There’re those who’d certainly listen to you, and the Word will produce fruits of righteousness in them. This should be your joy and focus.

It’s our responsibility, irrespective of the responses we get, to sow, and keep sowing the Word. The Lord has given you a bag of seeds—His words in your spirit; don’t keep it to yourself. Go out and persuade the lost; tell them about the great love the Father has bestowed on them through the Gospel.

2 Corinthians 5:11 says, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men….” You’re God’s agent of salvation—specially enlisted in His workforce—ordained to turn sinners from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for enlisting me as an endtime soul winner, armed with the glorious Gospel of Christ. I’m committed to the urgent spread of the Gospel around the world, turning many unto righteousness, by your grace and power at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

하나님은 항상 말씀하십니다
He’s Always Talking

“볼지어다 내가 문 밖에 서서 두드리노니 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가 그와 더불어 먹고 그는 나와 더불어 먹으리라”(계 3:20)

때로 어떤 사람들은 성도들이 함께 하는 모임에서 예언의 말씀이나 비전 또는 성령의 은사가 나타나기를 기대하므로, 그런 경험을 하지 못할 때에 당황해 합니다.

그러나 고린도전서 14장 32절을 통해 그 문제가 무엇인지에 대해 알 수 있습니다. “예언하는 사람의 영은 예언하는 사람에게 통제를 받습니다.”(NLT) 당신이나 다른 사람이 예언의 말씀을 받았다 하더라도 말하지 않았다면, 하나님은 그 일과 상관 없으십니다. 하나님을 탓할 일이 아닙니다.

사람들은 자주 이렇게 생각합니다. “하나님께서 예언의 말씀을 주신다면, 그분은 나의 목소리를 내는 능력을 장악하셔서 소리가 나오게 하실 거야!” 그렇게 되지 않습니다. 당신의 역할이 있습니다. 다른 사람들을 권면하고, 세워주고, 위로하는 예언의 말씀을 가지고 있을지라도, 그 말을 할지 안 할지를 선택할 수 있는 자유 의지는 바로 당신에게 있습니다.

우리는 하나님의 신호를 분별하여 그분이 말하라고 한 그대로를 선포하도록 항상 영적으로 담대하고 지혜로워야 합니다. 하나님은 항상 말씀하시지만, 당신은 그분께 민감하게 반응하고 그분의 주파수에 항상 맞춰져 있는 상태가 되도록 스스로를 훈련해야 합니다. 그러한 상태가 된다면, 하나님께서 말씀하실 때마다 예언 받은 말씀 그대로 말하고자 하는 의지와 함께 당신의 영은 그분으로부터 오는 신호를 쉽게 알아챌 것입니다.

당신의 심령으로 그분께 듣는 것을 아는 것만으로는 충분치 않습니다. 당신은 반드시 들은 그 말씀을 그대로 말하는 방법을 배워야 합니다.

그러므로 예언의 말씀이 당신 안에 차오를 때 조용히 있거나 그 말씀을 눌러버리지 마십시오. 만약 일반적인 예배나 모임 중이라면 적합한 타이밍을 기다리고 당신에게 예언의 말씀이 있다는 것을 알리십시오. 만약 나눌 말씀이 있냐고 묻는다면 담대하게 당신이 나눌 말씀이 있다고 표현하십시오. 직접 글로 적어 달라는 요청을 받을 수도 있습니다. 그러나 모임을 인도하고 있는 사람의 지시를 따르십시오.

당신이 주님과 교제할 때 그분은 성경과 일치하는 말들로 반드시 당신에게 말씀하신다는 것을 항상 기억하십시오. 그리고 그 말씀이 당신의 믿음을 통해 실재가 되도록 말하십시오. (로마서 12장을 읽어보십시오)

HE’S ALWAYS TALKING

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelations 3:20).

Sometimes, perhaps in a fellowship meeting, there’re those who, in anticipation for a word of prophecy, a vision or the demonstration of the gift of the Spirit, become bemused when they don’t experience such.

However, reading 1 Corinthians 14:32 (NLT) gives an idea as to what the issue could be sometimes. It says, “Remember that people who prophesy are in control of their spirit and can wait their turn.” If you or someone had a word of prophecy and wouldn’t give it, God’s got nothing to do with that; He’s not to blame.

Often, people think, “If God gives me a word of prophecy, He’d by default take over my vocal faculties and let it out!” That’s not how it works; you have a role. That you have a word of prophecy to exhort, edify, and comfort others doesn’t negate your own will to either speak or choose not to speak.

We always have to be bold and smart spiritually to pick God’s signals and declare the same as He gives us utterance. He’s always talking, but you must train your spirit to become sensitive to Him and always attuned to His frequency. That way, as He’s talking, your spirit can easily pick up the signals from Him, with the will to utter the same in prophecy.

It’s not enough to know how to hear Him with your heart, you must also learn to speak forth those words. So, don’t keep quiet or suppress it when you have words of prophecy bubbling inside you. If it’s in a general meeting, wait for the appropriate time and indicate that you have a word, or, when the call is made for anyone who has a word, be bold to indicate that you do. You may be asked to write it. However, abide by the guidance of the leaders of the congregation.

Always remember that when you commune with the Lord, He’s sure to minister back to you words that are consistent with the Scriptures, but you’ll have to bring forth those words He put in your heart, by faith (See Romans 12).

CONFESSION
Precious Father, I’m sensitive to receive your divine counsel and be attuned to your guidance over my life and those you’ve placed in my care. I’m bold to speak forth your Word, and have the body of Christ edified, exhorted and comforted to the glory and praise of your Name. Hallelujah!

Appraise Your Soul-winning Efforts

“너희는 믿음 안에 있는가 너희 자신을 시험하고 너희 자신을 확증하라 예수 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계신 줄을 너희가 스스로 알지 못하느냐 그렇지 않으면 너희는 버림 받은 자니라”(고후 13:5)

APPRAISE YOUR SOUL-WINNING EFFORTS

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you–unless, of course, you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV).

The Message Translation renders our opening verse beautifully. It says, “Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups….” This is one of the things you must learn to do for yourself as a Christian; having an honest selfappraisal of how far you’ve grown and are growing in your faith-walk.

For example, you should be able to appraise yourself on your soul-winning efforts. You ought to do this from time to time. Review your convictions about the Gospel. If you’ve been a Christian for a long period, and you’ve been receiving the Word, it’ll be inappropriate for you to require cajoling or “encouraging” to actively win souls for Christ. You should be self-motivated through the Spirit.

Remember, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only hope for the world today, and no sacrifice could be too great for this course. Paul said, “…woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). So, have an honest assessment of your involvement in soul winning. Don’t say, “It’s for the Pastors and leaders of the Church”; no! It’s the personal responsibility of every Christian. Therefore, set personal targets for the number of souls to win for Christ and do it.

It’s like what we read in the parable of the sower; Jesus said, “…A sower went out to sow” (Matthew 13:3 NKJV). The seeds sown, which fell on good ground produced a harvest: “…some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold” (Matthew 13:8). The Word that was sown “brought forth!” The question then is, at what level are you “bringing forth”; reproducing souls for the Kingdom?

Are you still at the same “thirty-fold” level of soul winning that you were when you initially gave your heart to Christ? You should move to the hundred-fold level. In other words, be all out for the Gospel as though it depended on you alone to reach the whole world. That’s the right attitude you must have for the Gospel.

Review and increase your commitment to the Gospel; and as you increase your commitment, the Lord will grant you more grace for greater effectiveness and capacity to win more souls to Christ. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for counting me faithful, putting me in the ministry to deliver those bound by the shackles of darkness, into the glorious liberty of the sons of God. More than ever, I’m totally sold-out to soul winning, led on by your grace to do greater exploits for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Eternal Life: You have It Already

주 예수님께서는 요한복음 5장 26절에서 “아버지께서 자기 속에 생명이 있음 같이 아들에게도 생명을 주어 그 속에 있게 하셨고”라고 말씀하셨습니다. 오늘의 본문 구절은 하나님께서 우리에게 영생을 주셨다고 말합니다. 많은 사람들이 영생은 하나님의 약속이라고 생각하지만, 그렇지 않습니다. 영생은 그리스도 안에서 당신이 현재 소유한 것입니다. 당신은 지금 영생을 가지고 있습니다!

거듭났을 때 당신은 영 안에 하나님의 생명과 본성을 받았습니다. 그 일은 실시간으로 일어났습니다. 하나님의 생명과 본성인 영생은 당신의 육신에도 영향을 주게 되어 있습니다. 그것이 성경이 말하는 바입니다. “예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라”(롬 8:11)

어떤 사람들의 건강에 문제가 있는 이유는 영생에 대한 그들의 이해와 인식이 부족하기 때문입니다. 영생은 질병에 영향을 받지 않습니다. 영생은 죽음과 질병으로부터 자유합니다! 당신의 육신은 살아계신 하나님의 살아있는 성전이 되었습니다. 이것이 무슨 의미인지 아시겠습니까?

로마서 8장 10절은 이렇게 선언합니다. “또 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계시면 몸은 죄로 말미암아 죽은 것이나 영은 의로 말미암아 살아 있는 것이라” 골로새서 1장 27절에서 바울은 이렇게 말합니다. “…너희 안에 계신 그리스도시니 곧 영광의 소망이니라”

ETERNAL LIFE: YOU HAVE IT ALREADY

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life… (1 John 5:11-12).

The Lord Jesus said in John 5:26, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.” In our opening scripture, we read that God has given us eternal life. Many think of eternal life as a promise from God, but it isn’t. It’s your present-hour possession in Christ. You have eternal life NOW!

When you were born again, you received the life and nature of God into your spirit; it happened in realtime. That eternal life, which is the life and nature of God, ought to have an impact in your physical body. That’s what the Bible says: “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies…” (Romans 8:11).

The verse above became a reality in your life the moment Christ took up His abode in you. Thus, your hitherto death-doomed (mortal) body was vitalised. Oh, that the Church would major on this reality! This has to become something you’re conscious of every day.

John writes in 1 John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life….” Eternal life is in Jesus Christ; it’s the life that He gives everyone who believes.

The reason some may be struggling with their health is their lack of understanding and consciousness of eternal life. Eternal life isn’t subject to sickness; it’s death and disease-proof! Your physical body has become the living tabernacle of a living God. Do you know what that means?

The Word declares: if Christ be in you, though your body be dead because of sin, the Spirit gives it life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10). In Colossians 1:27, Paul declares: “…Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Blessed be God!

CONFESSION
Christ lives in me! His divine power has given me everything I require to live a godly and triumphant life, fulfilling my divine purpose in Him. I’m the God-man, full of the graces and glories of divinity. Hallelujah!
