하나님의 진리의 청지기
Custodians Of His Truth
“너희는 성문들을 열어서 진리를 지키는 의로운 민족이 들어오게 하라.”(사 26:2, 한글킹제임스)
오늘의 본문구절에서 이사야 선지자가 언급한 것은 미국이나 남아프리카나 영국 같은 국가들이 아닌 예수 그리스도의 교회인 우리였습니다. 우리가 진리를 지키는 청지기입니다. 교회는 진리의 기둥과 터입니다. “…이 집은 살아계신 하나님의 교회요 진리의 기둥과 터니라”(딤전 3:15) 우리는 하나님의 말씀을 지키는 자들로, 그분의 문은 우리에게 열려 있습니다.
그러나 이것이 전부가 아닙니다. 어떤 일이 일어나는지 오늘 본문구절의 다음을 읽어보십시오. “주께서는 마음을 주께 의탁하는 사람을 완전한 화평 속에 지키시리니 이는 그 사람이 주를 의뢰함이니이다.”(사 26:3, 한글킹제임스) 완전한 화평으로 번역된 히브리어는 샬롬 샬롬으로, 그 뜻은 평안 평안입니다. 그러나 이 구절의 진정 의미는 안식이 있는 평안입니다. 곧 번영과 건강과 힘과 구원이 있는 평안입니다! 그러므로 마음이 주님께 머물러 있는 의인은 완전한 번영과 건강, 안식과 힘을 유지합니다.
이것은 더 나아가 하나님이 일하시고 싶어 하는 곳이 당신의 마음이라는 것도 보여줍니다. 만약 그분이 말씀을 통해 당신의 마음을 붙잡을 수 있다면, 당신은 원하는 만큼 건강하고 번영하며 성공할 수 있습니다. 항상 하나님의 진리의 말씀에 당신의 마음을 머물러 있도록 훈련하십시오. 문제와 어둠과 유혹과 도전이 찾아올 수 있지만, 당신은 항상 승리할 것입니다. 그분의 진리가 당신을 성공시킬 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 진리입니다.
그분의 진리를 지키는 청지기가 된다는 것은 말씀을 행하는 자가 된다는 뜻입니다. 우리는 말씀을 실행하는 자들입니다. 우리는 말씀 안에서, 말씀에 의해 그리고 말씀을 통해 삽니다. 거기에 축복이 있습니다. “너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라 누구든지 말씀을 듣고 행하지 아니하면 그는 거울로 자기의 생긴 얼굴을 보는 사람과 같아서 제 자신을 보고 가서 그 모습이 어떠한 것을 곧 잊어버리거니와 자유롭게 하는 온전한 율법을 들여다보고 있는 자는 듣고 잊어버리는 자가 아니요 실천하는 자니 이 사람은 그 행하는 일에 복을 받으리라”(약 1:22-25)
기도
제가 살아계신 하나님의 교회, 곧 진리의 기둥과 터에 속해 있다는 것이 너무 기쁩니다. 그 어떤 것도 주님과 그분의 영원한 말씀으로부터 저의 주의를 빼앗아 가지 못합니다. 왜냐하면 그분 안에 제 힘과 평안, 승리와 영원한 성공이 놓여있기 때문입니다. 저는 하나님의 지혜로 인도받아 행하며, 오늘 저를 향한 그분의 운명을 성취합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

CUSTODIANS OF HIS TRUTH
Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in (Isaiah 26:2).
In the verse above, the prophet Isaiah wasn’t referring to countries like the United States Of America, South Africa or England, but to the Church of Jesus Christ; we’re the custodians of the truth. The Church is the pillar and ground of the truth: “…the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15). We’re the ones that keep His Word, and His gates are open to us. But there’s more; read what happens in the very next verse: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3). The Hebrew words translated perfect peace are “shalom shalom,” meaning “peace peace”; but this construction really means peace with rest; peace with prosperity, health, strength and salvation! Thus, the righteous one, whose mind is stayed on the Lord, is kept in perfect prosperity, health, rest and strength. This further shows that your mind is where God wants to work. If He can get a hold of your mind through His Word, you can become as healthy, prosperous and successful as you ever want to be. Train your mind to stay on the truth of God’s Word always. Trouble, darkness, temptations and challenges may come, but you’ll always be victorious; His truth will put you over, and the Word of God is truth. Being custodians of His truth means we’re doers of the Word; we’re Word practitioners; we live in, by, and through the Word. And that’s where the blessing is: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:22-25).
PRAYER
I’m so glad that I belong to the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. Nothing takes my focus off the Lord and His eternal Word, for in Him lies my strength, peace, victory, and everlasting success. I’m guided by God’s wisdom to walk in, and fulfill His destiny for me today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
