항상 성령의 통치를 받으십시오
Spirit-Controlled At All Times
“…[성]령으로 충만하며 꾸준히 성령의 인도를 받아라…”(엡 5:18, AMP)
사랑스러운 어떤 여인이 다른 그리스도인 자매에 대해 매우 화가 났습니다. 그리고 그 둘은 언쟁을 벌였는데, 그녀가 상대에게 이렇게 말했습니다. “더 말해봐, 성경을 내려놓고 네 얼굴을 쳐버릴 테니까!” 그러나 그녀는 성경책을 가지고 있지 않았습니다. 그녀가 한 말의 의미는 성경이 어떤 경고와 주의를 주든지 잠시 보류하고 싸우겠다는 뜻이었습니다.
이는 무엇을 보여줍니까? 말씀이 아직은 그녀의 심령에 들어있지 않고 여전히 성경책에만 있다는 것을 보여줍니다. 말씀이 당신 안에 있으면 당신은 말씀을 내려놓을 수 없습니다. 말씀이 곧 당신의 생명입니다. 모든 그리스도인은 성령님이 다스리고 통치하는 생명 곧 하나님으로 충만한 생명을 원하고 또 그 생명으로 살아야 합니다. 그게 바로 기독교입니다. 다시 말해 기독교란, 그리스도께서 당신 안에 사시고 활동하심으로써 당신이 항상 분노와 같은 것들이 아니라 성령님의 통치와 주재하심을 받는 것입니다.
느낌이나 감정에 휘둘리지 말고 성령님의 다스림을 받으십시오. 얼마나 화가 났든지 상관없이 자신을 억제하십시오. 이를 “엥크라테이아(egkrateia, 헬라어:절제)”라고 부릅니다. 성경은 말씀합니다. “분을 내어도 죄를 짓지 말며…”(엡 4:26) 다른 말로 하면 “네 분노를 다스려라”라는 말입니다. 당신은 화를 내고 그리스도인에게는 합당하지 않은 방식으로 행동하고 싶은 유혹을 받을 수 있지만, 성령 안에서 걷는다면 당신은 육체의 욕심을 이루지 않을 것입니다.
어떻게 성령 안에서 걷습니까? 하나님의 말씀 안에서 걷는 것, 다시 말해 하나님의 말씀의 빛 가운데 걷는 것이 성령 안에서 걷는 것입니다. 당신은 지금 그리스도 안에 있습니다. 성령 안에서 그리고 성령에 의해서 걸으십시오. 항상 성령의 다스림과 통치를 받으십시오. 오늘의 본문 구절을 다시 읽어보고 우리가 얼마나 자주 성령으로 충만해야 하는지 살펴보십시오. 항상 충만해야 합니다! 성령으로 충만할 때 당신은 “성령의 통치를 받는 생명”을 가집니다! 할렐루야!
고백
나는 성령으로 충만하며 성령의 다스림과 통치를 받습니다. 나는 인내하며 신성한 지혜로 가득합니다. 계속 성령의 인도를 받는 나는 날마다 나의 말과 행동으로 하나님의 아름다움과 탁월함을 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 고백합니다. 아멘.

SPIRIT-CONTROLLED AT ALL TIMES
…be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him (Ephesians 5:18 AMP).
A dear lady was very angry with another Christian sister, and as they bandied words, she said to her neighbour, “Any more word from you, I will drop this Bible, and smack your face!” Meanwhile, she wasn’t holding a physical Bible, but she meant that she’d keep aside whatever caution the Bible gives, and hit her.
What does that show? It shows the Word wasn’t yet in her heart; it was still in the Bible. When the Word is in you, you can’t drop it; it’s your life. Every Christian wants, and should live the life that’s Spiritruled and Spirit-controlled; the life that’s filled with God. That’s what Christianity is: Christ alive and at work in you, such that you’re always under the sway and regulation of the Spirit; not such things as anger, wrath and malice.
Don’t be controlled by your feelings or emotions; be Spirit-ruled. It makes no difference how angry you are; hold yourself in; it’s called in 2 Peter 1:6 “egkrateia” (Greek). The Bible says, “Be ye angry, and sin not…” (Ephesians 4:26). In other words, “Manage your anger.” You can be tempted to be angry, tempted to act in a way that’s inappropriate for a Christian, but if you walk in the spirit, you’ll not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
How do you walk in the spirit? It’s by walking in the Word of God; walking in the light of God’s Word. You’re in Christ now; walk in love. Be Spirit-ruled, and Spirit-controlled at all times. Read our opening verse again and notice how often we should be filled with the Spirit: always! When you’re filled with the Spirit, you have a Spirit-controlled life. Hallelujah!
