빛나도록 명령을 받았습니다
Mandate To Shine
“너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요… 이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라”(마 5:14,16)
오늘날 전세계 인구는 거의 90억 명으로 추산됩니다. 그러한 통계에도 불구하고 과거에 당신과 똑같은 사람이 없었고, 지금도 당신과 똑같은 사람이 없으며, 앞으로도 그런 사람이 없을 것이라는 사실은 매우 흥미롭습니다. 하나님이 그렇게 만드셨습니다! 당신의 유일무이함은 가려지지 않습니다. 따라서 당신은 반드시 최선을 다해 살고, 당신의 최고의 모습으로 살아야 하고, 주 예수 그리스도를 섬기는 일에 최선을 다해야 합니다.
예수님은 오늘의 본문 구절에서 “너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위의 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요” 라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그러나 그분은 거기서 말씀을 멈추지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 “이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라”고 덧붙이셨습니다. 이 말씀은 중요합니다. 이 구절은 당신이 언제 어디서나 모든 사람 앞에서 빛나라는 신성한 명령을 받았음을 알게 합니다.
이는 당신이 어떤 상황에서도 항상 승리하고 발전할 수 있다는 뜻입니다. 야곱의 아들 요셉은 유명한 본입니다. 그는 형제들로 인해 노예로 팔려갔고 후에는 부당한 고소로 인해 감옥에 갇혔습니다. 그러나 요셉은 모든 역경 속에서도 밝게 빛났고 결국 하나님의 계획과 목적을 따라 타국에서 총리가 되었습니다.
성경은 당신이 빛을 발하고 그분의 기이한 일을 행하며 그분의 덕과 완전함을 나타내라는 주님의 지시에 주의를 기울일 때, 사람들이 하늘에 계신 아버지께 영광을 돌릴 것이라고 말합니다. 당신이 어떤 삶을 살고 있든지 하나님이 당신을 부르신 일에 집중하고 에너지를 쏟으십시오. 그분께 계속해서 영광과 존귀를 드리며 더 높은 차원의 성공으로 도약하기까지는 오래 걸리지 않을 것입니다.
고백
나는 빛의 왕국에서 성도의 유업에 참여하는 자입니다. 어둠은 내 안에서 차지할 자리가 없습니다. 나는 빛으로 태어났고 계속 하나님의 말씀의 빛 안에서 살기 때문입니다. 오늘 나는 내 안에 있는 그리스도의 생명과 그분의 의의 본성을 나타내고, 내가 하는 모든 일에서 성공, 탁월함, 정확함, 지혜로 기능하므로 이 빛을 내 세상에 밝게 비춥니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

MANDATE TO SHINE
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:14,16).
It’s estimated that there’re almost 9 billion people in the world today. Despite the statistics, it’s interesting to know that no other human was exactly like you in the past, none is like you now, and none will ever be like you. God made it so! Your uniqueness is such that can’t be obscured. It’s the reason you must live your best, be your best, and put your best into serving the Lord, Jesus Christ.
In our theme scripture, Jesus said, “You’re the light of the world, a city on a hill that can’t be hidden.” But He didn’t stop there; He added, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” This is significant; it lets you know you have a divine mandate to shine before all men–anywhere and everywhere.
This means you can always win and make progress, no matter the circumstances of your life. Joseph, the son of Jacob, is a notable example in this regard. He was sold into slavery by his brothers and later put in prison after being wrongly accused. Yet, he shone so brightly in the midst of all those difficult times and eventually went on to become the prime minister in a foreign country, according to God’s plan and purpose.
As you heed the Master’s instruction to shine, setting forth His wonderful deeds and displaying His virtues and perfections, the Scripture says men would glorify your Father in heaven. I encourage you to put your focus and best energies on what God has called you to do, no matter where you are in life. It won’t be long before you’re catapulted to a higher dimension of success, with your life continually bringing Him glory and honour.
CONFESSION
I’m a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Darkness has no place in me, because I’m native-born to the light and I live continually in the light of God’s Word. I manifest this light to my world ever so brightly today, as I give expression to the life of Christ and His nature of righteousness in me, functioning with excellence, precision and wisdom in all I do. Glory to God!
