당신의 역할이 있습니다
You Have Something To Do With It
“예수 그리스도의 사도 베드로는 … 하나님 아버지의 미리 아심을 따라 … 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 더욱 많을지어다”(벧전 1:1-2)
바울의 모든 서신에서 매우 주목할 만한 점은 하나님의 은혜와 평강에 대한 바울의 의식입니다. 그가 교회에 쓴 각 서신의 도입부를 보면, 로마서 1:7의 “하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평강이 있기를 원하노라”와 같은 표현을 볼 수 있습니다.
또한 베드로와 요한도 비슷한 표현을 쓴 것을 발견할 수 있습니다. 그들은 하나님의 백성의 삶 가운데 은혜와 평안이 얼마나 강력하고 중요한지 이해했습니다. 베드로는 여기서 한 걸음 더 나아가 우리에게 아주 놀라운 사실을 알려줍니다. 베드로는 그의 첫 번째 서신의 도입부에서 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽었듯이 “은혜와 평강이 너희에게 더욱 많을지어다”라고 말했습니다.
베드로의 두 번째 서신 도입부에서는 이 은혜와 평강이 어떻게 삶에서 배가될 수 있는지를 정확히 말합니다. 그것은 바로 하나님과 우리 주 예수를 아는 지식을 통해서입니다. “하나님과 우리 주 예수를 앎으로 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 더욱 많을지어다”(벧후 1:2)
당신의 삶에 은혜가 더해진다는 것은 당신이 무언가를 수행하는 능력, 속도, 정확성이 늘어나는 것을 뜻합니다. 이는 당신의 삶에 번영, 다스림, 역경을 이기는 능력과 함께 더 많은 호의와 위대한 탁월함이 있음을 의미합니다. 할렐루야!
그러나 이런 일이 일어나려면 당신에게는 하나님에 대한 지식이 있어야 합니다. 여기서 말하는 지식이란 “에피그노시스”(그리스어), 즉 정확하고 정밀한 지식입니다. 알고 있는 내용과 연결 짓는 지식입니다.
당신이 얼마나 평안과 번영을 누릴지는 당신에게 달려 있습니다. “오 하나님, 내 삶에 당신의 은혜와 평안이 더해지게 하옵소서.”라고 기도한다고 해서 그런 일이 일어나지 않습니다. 하나님께서는 이미 당신에게 무엇을 해야 할지 보여주셨습니다. 하나님을 더욱 친밀하게 알아가십시오. 하나님의 말씀을 공부하고 묵상하십시오. 이 사실에 대해 숙고해 보십시오. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 아버지의 말씀에 대한 지식을 통해 내게 베풀어주신 풍성한 은혜와 평강에 감사드립니다. 내가 하나님의 말씀을 묵상할 때 하나님에 대한 지식이 깊어지고, 따라서 내 삶에 하나님의 은혜와 평강이 배가되며, 능력과 다스림과 번영이 증가합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT
“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the…Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father…Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied” (1 Peter 1:1-2).
Something very remarkable in all of Paul’s epistles is his consciousness of the grace and peace of God. At the beginning of each of the epistles he wrote to the churches, you’d find expressions such as the one in Romans 1:7: “Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
You also find the same with Peter and even John; they understood the importance and power of grace and peace in the lives of God’s people. But then Peter takes a step further to show us something quite striking about this. At the beginning of his first epistle, as read in our theme scripture, he said, “Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”
But at the beginning of his second epistle, he pinpoints how this grace and peace can be multiplied in your life: it’s through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2: “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.”
Multiplied grace in your life means increased capacity, speed, and accuracy to perform. It means more favours and greater excellence in your life with prosperity, dominion and power over adversity. Hallelujah!
But for these to happen, you have to have the knowledge of God; knowledge here is “epignosis” (Greek); which is correct and precise knowledge: a knowledge that relates with that which is known.
It’s up to you how much prosperity with peace you want to enjoy. It’s not going to happen by you praying, “Oh God, multiply your grace and peace in my life; no! He’s already shown you what to do: get to know God more intimately. Study and meditate on His Word. Be deliberate about this. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the abundance of grace and peace that you have made available to me through the knowledge of your Word. My knowledge of you deepens as I meditate on your Word, thus causing your grace and peace to be multiplied in my life, leading to increased capacity, dominion, and prosperity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
