목적을 가지고 달리십시오
Run With Purpose

“이는 우리가 다 반드시 그리스도의 심판대 앞에 나타나게 되어 각각 선악간에 그 몸으로 행한 것을 따라 받으려 함이라”(고후 5:10)

주님께서 당신을 부르신 일에 집중하고 있는지 종종 스스로를 평가하는 것이 중요합니다. 우리 각자에게는 그리스도 안에서 성취해야 할 고유한 목적과 운명이 있으며 언젠가는 우리가 이 땅에서 행한 모든 일을 주님께 아뢰게 될 것입니다.
성경에 따르면 선한 일을 한 사람은 주님께 칭찬을 받고 보상을 받을 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 성령님께서는 사도 바울을 통해 고린도전서 9:24에서 우리를 격려하십니다. “운동장에서 달음질하는 자들이 다 달릴지라도 오직 상을 받는 사람은 한 사람인 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 너희도 상을 받도록 이와 같이 달음질하라”
인생은 경주입니다. 당신은 이 삶의 경주에서 상을 받을 수 있는 방식으로 달려야 합니다. 목적을 가지고 달리십시오. 목적이 없는 것처럼 살지 마십시오. 확대번역본은 위 구절을 다음과 같이 번역합니다. “당신은 경주에서 모든 경주자들이 경쟁하지만 상을 받는 사람은 [오직] 한 명뿐이라는 것을 모르십니까? 그러므로 [당신의 경주를] 달리면 [상을] 붙잡고 그것을 당신의 것으로 만들 수 있습니다.”
영광스럽게 승리하겠다는 결단으로 달리고 기쁨으로 당신의 경주를 마치십시오. 디모데후서 4:5에 나오는 바울의 마지막 권면을 기억하십시오. “그러나 너는 모든 일에 신중하여 고난을 받으며 전도자의 일을 하며 네 직무를 다하라” 바울은 담대하게 그런 영감을 주는 권면을 할 수 있었습니다. 바로 그것이 바울의 간증이기 때문입니다. 그는 목적을 가지고 달렸고, 자신의 사역으로 온전히 증거했습니다.
바울은 자신의 경주를 영광스럽게 마치고 다음과 같이 증언했습니다. “그러나 너는 모든 일에 신중하여 고난을 받으며 전도자의 일을 하며 네 직무를 다하라 전제와 같이 내가 벌써 부어지고 나의 떠날 시각이 가까웠도다 나는 선한 싸움을 싸우고 나의 달려갈 길을 마치고 믿음을 지켰으니 이제 후로는 나를 위하여 의의 면류관이 예비되었으므로 주 곧 의로우신 재판장이 그 날에 내게 주실 것이며 내게만 아니라 주의 나타나심을 사모하는 모든 자에게도니라”(딤후 4:5-8)
우리는 더 엄청난 목적을 위해 이 여정을 하고 있습니다. 이 진리를 항상 간직하십시오. 그러면 당신의 삶을 살아갈 때 그 진리가 당신의 등불이 될 것입니다. 할렐루야!

RUN WITH PURPOSE

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

It’s important that from time to time, you appraise yourself to be sure you’re focused on that which the Lord has called you to do. Each one of us has a unique purpose and destiny to fulfil in Christ and one day, we’ll give account to the Lord for all that we did while on earth.
According to the Scriptures, those who have done well will receive praise of Him; they’ll be rewarded. That’s why the Spirit, through the apostle Paul encourages us in 1 Corinthians 9:24, saying, “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.”
Life is a race, and in this race of life, you’re to run in such a way as to win the prize. Run with purpose. Don’t live like it doesn’t matter. The Amplified Classic Version of the scripture above says, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours.”
Run with the resolve to triumph gloriously and finish your course with joy. Remember part of Paul’s valedictory admonition in 2 Timothy 4:5; he said, “Watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” He could confidently give such inspiring counsel because that was His testimony. He ran with purpose and made full proof of his ministry.
Paul finished his race gloriously and testified, “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:5-8).
We’re on this journey for a more profound purpose. Keep this truth constantly before you and it’ll serve as a guiding light in the way you live your life. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I’m passionately dedicated and committed to fulfilling your purpose for my life, and finishing my course gloriously. I run this race with diligence, living in your Word and guided by your wisdom to produce eternal fruits and works of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

당신의 자원에 가치와 방향을 부여하는 방법은 그것들을 하나님의 왕국에 투자하는 것입니다. 하나님의 왕국 밖에서는 돈이 별 의미가 없습니다. 그곳에는 돈이 없는 사람이 없기 때문입니다. 왜 그런지 아십니까? 모든 것이 가치를 가지고 있기 때문에 그렇습니다.
이는 통화가 실제 돈이 아니라는 것을 의미합니다. 통화는 실제 돈을 측정하기 위해 쓰입니다. 따라서 어떤 의미에서는 모든 것이 돈입니다. 당신이 이것을 이해한다면, 하나님께서 당신에게 재정을 관리하는 지혜를 주셨다는 것을 깨닫게 될 것입니다.
부유한 사람들이 가난한 사람들보다 더 유익을 누리고 있는 것처럼 보이는 이유는 이 신비에 대한 그들의 이해 덕분입니다. 당신이 동일한 이해를 가지게 된다면, 당신 역시 하나님께서 당신에게 주신 모든 것들에서 가치를 보기 시작할 것입니다. 하나님께서 당신에게 주시는 모든 것이 갑자기 능력을 얻게 되고, 그러면 당신은 무엇이든 할 수 있고, 무엇이든 소유할 수 있다는 것을 발견하게 됩니다.
이러한 이해를 가진다면 주 예수님의 말씀은 당신에게 더 큰 의미를 갖게 됩니다. “너희는 온 천하에 다니며 만민에게 복음을 전파하라”(막 16:15) 이 일에 당신의 자원을 쏟으십시오. 전 세계에 성경과 말씀의 실재가 전달되는 일을 후원하여 더 많은 사람이 하나님의 말씀을 받을 수 있게 하십시오.
모든 사람의 세상에 복음을 전하는 일이 당신의 사명이 되게 하십시오. 바로 이것이 왕국을 향한 당신이 뻗은 손이 확장되고, 빠르고 지속적인 영향력을 끼치는 방법입니다.

GIVE VALUE TO YOUR RESOURCES

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

The way to give value and direction to your resources is to invest them in the Kingdom of God. Outside of the Kingdom of God, money holds little significance. There isn’t anyone who doesn’t have money. Do you know why? Because everything holds value—everything has worth.
That means currency isn’t the real money; it’s just what is used in measuring the real money. Therefore, in a sense, everything is money. Once you comprehend this, you’ll realise that God has bestowed upon you the wisdom to manage finances.
The reason those who are labelled wealthy seem to have the advantage over those termed as poor is due to their understanding of this mystery. Once you gain the same understanding, suddenly you’ll start seeing value in everything that God gives you. Everything that God gives you suddenly has power, and then you discover you can do anything and have anything.
With this understanding, the words of the Lord Jesus will mean more to you. He said, “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Commit your resources to this. Make it possible for more and more people to receive God’s Word by sponsoring the distribution of Bibles and Rhapsody of Realities around the world.
Make it your mission to take the Gospel to every man’s world. This is the way to expand your reach for the Kingdom and make a quick and lasting impact.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the wisdom to understand the true value of resources you’ve given to me; I’m conscious that you’ve made all grace abound towards me, so that I’m divinely enabled to give immensely towards Kingdom expansion. I utilise the abundance you’ve provided for your kingdom’s advancement. I’ll steward my resources effectively, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

이해가 중요합니다
Understanding Is Important

“대저 여호와는 지혜를 주시며 지식과 명철을 그 입에서 내심이며”(잠 2:6)

잠언 4:7은 말합니다. “지혜가 제일이니 지혜를 얻으라 네가 얻은 모든 것을 가지고 명철을 얻을지니라” 이 구절은 당신이 추구해야 할 가장 중요한 것이 돈이나 친구가 아닌 지혜라고 강조합니다. 그리고 결론 부분에 “모든 것을 가지고 명철을 얻을지니라”고 말합니다. 그것이 바로 제가 강조하고 싶은 것입니다. 이해가 중요합니다!
이해가 중요합니다. 8절에서는 이해에 대해 다음과 같이 말합니다. “그를 높이라 그리하면 그가 너를 높이들리라 만일 그를 품으면 그가 너를 영화롭게 하리라” 높임을 원하십니까? 그렇다면 당신의 이해가 높아져야 합니다. 그러면 이해가 당신을 높이고 영화롭게 할 것입니다.
9절 역시 아름다운 구절로 더 나아가 이해가 당신을 위해 할 일에 대해 말합니다. “그가 아름다운 관을 네 머리에 두겠고 영화로운 면류관을 네게 주리라 하셨느니라” 이해가 당신에게 영광의 관을 씌울 것입니다. 할렐루야!
주 예수님께서도 누가복음 8:5-15에서 씨 뿌리는 자의 비유를 설명하시면서 이해가 얼마나 중요한지 가르치셨습니다. (전체를 읽고 공부해 보십시오.) 12절에서 예수님은 씨 뿌리는 자가 씨를 (씨는 하나님의 말씀입니다) 길가에 떨어뜨리면 “마귀가 가서 그들이 믿어 구원을 얻지 못하게 하려고 말씀을 그 마음에서 빼앗는 것이요” 라고 말씀하셨습니다.
마태는 그런 사람들에게 실제로 어떤 일이 일어나는지에 대해 좋은 통찰력을 가지고 있었습니다. 사람들의 이해가 부족했기 때문에 마귀는 그들의 마음에서 말씀을 빼앗을 수 있었던 것입니다. “그런즉 씨 뿌리는 비유를 들으라 아무나 천국 말씀을 듣고 깨닫지 못할 때는 악한 자가 와서 그 마음에 뿌려진 것을 빼앗나니 이는 곧 길 가에 뿌려진 자요”(마 13:18-19)
하나님의 말씀을 이해하지 못하는 것이 얼마나 끔찍한 일인지 아십니까? 심지어 지혜도 이해를 극찬했습니다. 잠언 8:14에서 지혜가 하는 말을 읽어보십시오. “내게는 계략과 참 지식이 있으며 나는 명철이라 내게 능력이 있으므로” 지혜는 “내가 이해다” 라고 말합니다. 놀랍습니다!
그리고 잠언 8:15-20은 말합니다. “나로 말미암아 왕들이 치리하며 방백들이 공의를 세우며 나로 말미암아 재상과 존귀한 자 곧 모든 의로운 재판관들이 다스리느니라 … 부귀가 내게 있고 장구한 재물과 공의도 그러하니라 내 열매는 금이나 정금보다 나으며 내 소득은 순은보다 나으리라 나는 정의로운 길로 행하며 공의로운 길 가운데로 다니나니”
당신의 삶을 하나님의 말씀, 즉 하나님의 지혜에 두십시오. 그리고 이해에 집중하십시오. 그리스도가 당신 안에 계십니다. 그분은 당신의 지혜이십니다. 따라서 당신은 이해하는 심령과 생각을 가졌습니다. 성경은 하나님의 말씀과 천국의 비밀을 깨닫는 지혜가 당신에게 주어졌다고 말합니다. 그러므로 자주 “나는 모든 지혜와 영적인 지혜 가운데 아버지의 뜻에 대한 지식으로 가득 차 있습니다.” 라고 선포하십시오. 할렐루야!

UNDERSTANDING IS IMPORTANT

“The LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6).

In Proverbs 4:7, the Bible says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” It points attention to wisdom as the most important thing that you should go for, not money, not friends, but wisdom. Then it says in the concluding part, “…with all thy getting get understanding.” And that’s what I want to emphasize; understanding!
Understanding is important. In verse 8, referring to understanding, it says, “Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.” So, do you want promotion? Then you need to exalt understanding and she shall promote you and bring you to honour.
The 9th verse is also beautiful and further refers to what understanding will do for you: “She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.” Understanding will crown you with glory. Hallelujah!
Even the Lord Jesus taught on how important understanding is when He told and explained the parable of the sower in Luke 8:5-15 (study the entire reference). In verse 12, He explained that as the sower sowed his seed (the seed is the Word of God), those that fell on the wayside “…are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts….”
But Matthew gave us a better insight into what really happened to such individuals; why the devil was able to steal the Word from their hearts—it’s because they lacked understanding: “Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When anyone heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.”(Mattew 13:18-19)
See how terrible it is not to understand the Word of God? Even Wisdom extolled understanding; read what Wisdom says in Proverbs 8:14, “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. Here, Wisdom is talking and says, “I am understanding.” Amazing!
Then verses 15-20 says, “By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth…Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment.”
Anchor your life on the Word of God—the wisdom of God—and give attention to understanding. Christ is in you; He’s your wisdom. Therefore, you have an understanding heart and mind. The Bible says it is given unto you to understand the Word of God, the mysteries of the Kingdom. Therefore, every so often, declare, “I’m filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom, and spiritual understanding.” Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I acknowledge the importance of understanding in my life and ministry. I declare that I am filled with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. The understanding of the Word elevates, promotes, and brings me honour; it crowns me with glory, and with it, I live triumphantly, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

성령님과 동역하십시오
Cooperate With Him

“너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희에게 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니”(빌 2:13)

저는 성령님을 사랑합니다! 저는 종종 성령님이 없는 사람들이 매일 어떻게 살아가는지 궁금했습니다. 우리가 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽은 내용을 생각해 보십시오. 이는 우리 삶에서의 성령님의 영광스러운 사역 중 일부입니다. 성령님께서는 우리가 하나님의 뜻을 행하는 것을 원하게 하시고, 실제로 행하게 하십니다.
그렇다고 해서 그저 가만히 앉아서 “성령님께서 나에게 어떤 말이나 행동을 하게 하지 않으시면, 나는 아무것도 하지 않을 거야.” 라고 말하라는 의미는 아닙니다. 성령님께서는 그렇게 사역하지 않으십니다. 성령님의 사역은 협력이며 교제입니다.
성경은 성령님께서 당신에게 무언가를 하도록 강요하실 때까지 당신이 “기다린다”는 개념을 말하고 있지 않습니다. 오히려 성경은 성령님께서 그분의 사역을 당신의 삶에서 성취하실 수 있도록 협력할 것을 강조합니다. 성령님과 당신은 다른 역할을 맡고 있습니다.
성령님은 당신과 함께 그리고 당신을 통해 일하도록 부르심을 받았지만, 성령님과의 교제를 통해 당신이 그분의 일을 할 수 있도록 허락해야 합니다. 그 교제를 통해 성령님께서는 당신 안에 하나님의 뜻을 행하려는 의지를 심어주십니다. 당신은 영 안에서 하나님께서 당신을 부르신 그 일을 하도록 준비되어 있고 그 일을 하기 원하게 됩니다. 하나님께서는 에스겔처럼 “나를 일으켜 내 발로 세우”(겔 2:2)십니다.
성령님께서는 당신이 특정한 행동을 하도록 인도하실 수 있으며, 당신은 그 행동이 성령님으로 인해 다뤄지고 있음을 깨닫게 될 것입니다. 그렇다고 해서 그분이 당신을 로봇처럼 움직이게 하시는 것이 아닙니다. 이는 성령님과의 하나됨, 목적의 연합, 일치됨입니다. 성경이 말하듯 두 사람은 뜻이 같아야만 동행할 수 있습니다(암 3:3).
당신의 삶에서 성령님의 사역을 환영하십시오. 그분과 동역하십시오. 그분의 인도를 감사하고 찬양하십시오. 성령님께서는 당신의 심령을 지혜로 덮으셔서 당신이 하나님의 완전한 뜻을 알고 그 안에서 행하게 하십니다.

기도
사랑하는 아버지, 성령님으로 말미암아 아버지의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 소원을 두고 행하도록 내 안에 역사하시니 감사드립니다. 내가 하나님의 신성한 목적을 성취하고 하나님을 언제나 기쁘시게 하도록 내 안에 역사하는 은혜와 인도에 내 자신을 내어드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

COOPERATE WITH HIM

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13)

I love the Holy Spirit! I’ve often wondered how folks who don’t have the Holy Spirit live on a day-to-day basis. Consider what we just read in our theme verse: it’s part of the glorious ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives: He makes us willing and able to do the will of the Father.
This doesn’t imply that you sit idly by and say, “I’m not going to do or say anything if the Holy Spirit doesn’t make me say or do something.” That’s not how it works. There’s a cooperation; it’s a fellowship.
The scripture isn’t conveying the idea of you “waiting” for Him to compel you to do; rather, it emphasises a partnership that enables the Holy Spirit to fulfil His ministry in your life. Both He and you have distinct roles to play.
The Holy Spirit is called to work with and through you, but you need to allow Him to do His job through fellowship with Him. Through that fellowship, He instils in you a willingness to do God’s will effortlessly, where you’re always ready and willing to do what God has called you to do. Like Ezekiel, He’ll “set you upon your feet” (Ezekiel 2:2).
The Holy Spirit can prompt you to take certain actions and you’d be conscious that those actions are orchestrated by Him. He doesn’t just move you capriciously as though you’re a robot; no! There’s a oneness, a unity of purpose, an agreement with Him that’s required. As the Bible says, two can only walk together, when they agree (Amos 3:3).
Encourage the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. Cooperate with Him. Celebrate and appreciate Him for His guidance, and for causing your heart to be mantled with the wisdom to know and walk in the perfect will of God today.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for being the One at work in me by the Holy Spirit, to will and to fulfil your good pleasure. I yield to your guidance and celebrate your grace at work in me to live out your divine purpose effortlessly, and please you always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

주 예수님은 마태복음 5:14-16에서 “너희는 세상의 빛이라 … 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라” 당신의 빛은 당신이 원하는 만큼 밝게 빛날 수 있습니다. 이는 당신에게 달린 것입니다.
이사야 60:1은 말합니다. “일어나라 빛을 발하라 이는 네 빛이 이르렀고 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임하였음이니라” 그리고 주 예수님은 요한복음 17:22에서 “내게 주신 영광을 내가 그들에게 주었사오니” 라고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 당신을 그분의 영광의 표현으로 삼으셨습니다. 그렇다면 영광이란 무엇입니까?
영광은 엄청난 존귀, 찬양, 위엄입니다. 또한 장엄한 아름다움, 광채, 눈부심, 탁월함입니다. 따라서 하나님께서 사람을 만드실 때는 영광을 위하여 지으셨고 사람의 모든 것은 칭찬을 받을 만한 것이었습니다.
당신의 삶에서 하나님의 영광을 증가시키고 나타내는 사명, 즉 신성한 임무가 있다는 사실을 아십니까? 우리 모두는 일정 분량의 하나님의 영광을 가지고 있으며, 그 영광을 얼마나 밝게 나타내는 지는 우리에게 달려있습니다.

이 지식을 통해 당신의 삶 가운데 있는 영광이 증가하고, 당신의 효율성, 효과 및 결과가 배가됩니다. 당신의 영은 지속해서 새로워지고, 상쾌해지고, 빛이 납니다. 하나님과 당신의 관계가 깊어질수록 당신의 영은 점점 더 빛납니다.
골로새서 3:16은 말합니다. “그리스도의 말씀이 너희 속에 풍성히 거하여…” 부지런히 말씀을 공부하고 묵상하여 하나님의 말씀이 당신 안에 풍성히 거하게 하십시오. 그러면 당신의 삶은 더욱 영광스러워질 것입니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!

INCREASING HIS GLORY IN YOUR LIFE

“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him” (Colossians 3:10).

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, “Ye are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” So, you can let your light shine as brightly as you want; it’s up to you.
Isaiah 60:1 says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” The Lord Jesus said in John 17:22, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them.” God made you the expression of His glory. But what is glory?
Glory is great honour, praise or distinction. It’s majestic beauty and splendour, resplendence, excellence. So, when God made man, He made him for glory, and everything about man was praiseworthy.
Did you know that you have a mission, a divine assignment, to increase and manifest the glory of God in your life? Each one of us carries the glory of God to a certain measure, and how brightly we manifest that glory is within our control.
Our opening verse gives us an idea of how this happens. Let’s read it again, this time, from the Amplified Classic. It says, “And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it.”
The word “knowledge” in the verse above is the Greek “epignosis,” and it means exact or precise knowledge of God. It means full comprehension, recognition, or perception; to become fully acquainted with God. This is the knowledge He seeks for us to have of Him.
With this knowledge, the glory in your life increases, and your efficiency, effectiveness and results multiply; your spirit is continually renewed, refreshed and polished. Your spirit glows more and more as you deepen your relationship with Him.
Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…” Have the Word of God in you in abundance through diligent study and meditation, and your life will become more glorious. Praise God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your glory in my life which continually increases as I study and meditate on your Word. That glory radiates through my being, making me competent, resourceful, more efficient and effective. I’m continually renewed and refreshed, greatly manifesting the fruits and works of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

We Live To Please Him

“… 기도하기를 그치지 아니하고 구하노니… 주께 합당하게 행하여 범사에 기쁘시게 하고 모든 선한 일에 열매를 맺게 하시며 하나님을 아는 것에 자라게 하시고”(골 1:9-10)

당신이 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 일에 열의가 없다는 것을 발견한다면, 주 예수님을 향한 당신의 사랑에 물음표가 생깁니다. 당신이 진실로 주님을 사랑한다면, 당신의 심령의 갈망은 항상 그분을 기쁘시게 하는 것입니다. 당신은 그분을 삶의 가장 중요한 위치에 둘 것입니다.
하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 것이 중요한 이유는 무엇입니까? 우리가 그분께 속하고, 그분을 위해 살기 때문입니다. 이는 하나님의 자녀인 우리의 정체성에 관한 것입니다. 고린도후서 5:14은 말합니다. “… 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽었은즉 모든 사람이 죽은 것이라”

예수님은 아버지를 기쁘시게 하려는 끊임없는 열망으로 사셨고, 우리도 같은 마음가짐을 받아들이고 성장하도록 권면하셨습니다. 예수님은 요한복음 6:38에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 하늘에서 내려온 것은 내 뜻을 행하려 함이 아니요 나를 보내신 이의 뜻을 행하려 함이니라” 그리고 요한복음 4:34에서는 아버지께 가장 감동적인 말씀을 하셨습니다. “나의 양식은 나를 보내신 이의 뜻을 행하며 그의 일을 온전히 이루는 이것이니라”
주님은 아버지의 뜻에 완전히 복종하며 사는 방법을 우리에게 보여주셨고, 모든 일에서 아버지를 기쁘시게 하셨습니다. 우리는 예수님을 본받아야 합니다. 하나님을 기쁘시게 하기 위해 사는 것보다 더 큰 기쁨과 성취는 없습니다. 예수 그리스도를 진심으로 사랑하고 그분처럼 사는 것보다 하나님을 더 기쁘시게 하는 일은 없습니다.

사랑하는 아버지, 내 행동이 아버지의 완전한 계획과 일치하도록 말씀 안에서 아버지의 뜻을 가르치시고, 인도하시고, 계시해 주시는 성령님께 감사드립니다. 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 일의 기쁨은 내 삶의 원동력이며 나는 항상 하나님의 완전한 뜻 안에 행하기로 헌신합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

WE LIVE TO PLEASE HIM

“…We continually ask God…that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:9-10 NIV).

If you ever find that you’re not enthusiastic about pleasing God, then your love for the Lord Jesus is questionable. If you genuinely love the Lord, then your heart’s desire, always, would be to please Him; you want Him as the first place in your life.
Why is it important that we please Him? It’s because we belong to Him and we live for Him. It’s about our identity as His children. 2 Corinthians 5:14 says, “…he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”
He isn’t just your heavenly Father but also the Lord; and this is what led to your salvation—the acknowledgement or confession of His lordship over your life. Therefore, living to please Him becomes a natural expression of your devotion because now He’s Lord of your life and everything about you.
While the Lord Jesus walked this earth, He rehearsed to us how to please the Father in all things. In John 8:29, He said, “…for I do always those things that please him.” In John 5:30, He said, “… I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
Jesus lived with the constant desire to please the Father and encouraged us to adopt or cultivate the same mindset. Again, in John 6:38, He said, “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” Then in John 4:34, He uttered some of the most inspiring words of assurance to the Father, “…My meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.”
The Master revealed to us how to live in total submission to the Father’s will, pleasing Him in all things. We’re to emulate Him. There’s no greater joy or fulfilment than living to please God. Nothing pleases Him more than one genuinely loving Jesus Christ, and living as He lived.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who teaches, guides, and reveals your will to me in the Word so that my actions align with your perfect plan. The joy of pleasing you is the driving force in my life and I commit to walking in your perfect will always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

경험을 넘어서
Beyond An Experience

“예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없느니라”(요 3:3)

거듭나지 않은 사람 혹은 하나님의 일들을 배우지 못한 사람에게 “나는 거듭났습니다” 라고 말한다면, 그들은 다시 새로운 경험을 했다는 것을 종교적인 진부한 표현으로 설명한다고 생각할 것입니다. 어떤 사람들은 거듭남을 새로운 장으로 넘어가는, 더 나은 사람이 되기 위한 결단 등으로 이해할 것입니다. 그렇지 않습니다!
거듭남은 경험이 아니며, 이러한 표현들을 넘어섭니다. 거듭났을 때 당신은 무언가 “경험”하는 것이 아닙니다. 당신이 존재하게 된 것입니다.
마치 아기가 태어났을 때 “아, 이 아기는 경험을 했구나.” 라고 말하지 않는 것과 같습니다. 그 아이가 생긴 것입니다. 그 아이가 태어났기 때문에 모두가 기뻐합니다. 따라서, 거듭남은 당신이 죽었다가 살아난 것입니다. 당신은 이제 살아있습니다.
바울은 에베소서 2:1에서 “그는 허물과 죄로 죽었던 너희를 살리셨도다”고 말합니다. 또한 그는 골로새서 2:13에서 “또 범죄와 육체의 무할례로 죽었던 너희를 하나님이 그와 함께 살리시고 우리의 모든 죄를 사하시고” 라고 말합니다. “살리다” 라는 단어는 “살아나게 하다”라는 의미입니다.
흥미롭게도 거듭난다는 것은 과거가 없음을 의미하므로 “나에게 무슨 일이 일어났습니다” 라고 말할 수 없습니다. “옛 당신”은 그리스도 안에서 죽었고, 새로운 “당신”은 부활 생명을 가지고 있습니다. 그리스도 안에서 죽은 사람과 지금 살아있는 사람은 다른 사람입니다.
그래서 성경은 “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고후 5:17) 라고 말합니다. 당신의 “과거”는 더 이상 존재하지 않습니다. 예수님과 함께 묻혀 갈보리에서 끝났습니다.
따라서 거듭난 순간부터 당신은 하나님께 갓 태어난 아기와 같습니다. 그래서 베드로전서 2:2은 다음과 같이 말하는 것입니다. “갓난 아기들 같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 그로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라” 거듭난 사람은 말씀을 배우고 말씀에 대한 지식 안에서 계속 자라가야 합니다. 하나님의 말씀은 당신을 세우며 당신의 삶을 영광에서 영광으로 변모시킵니다.

BEYOND AN EXPERIENCE

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

When you tell the natural man or those who are unlearned in the things of God, “I’m born again,” they think it’s just another religious cliché that suggests you just had a new experience. Some even think being born again means to turn over a new leaf, or make new resolutions to be a better person. No!
Being born again is not an experience, and it’s beyond these outward expressions. When you’re born again, you don’t essentially “experience” a thing; rather, “you” are the experience; you happened. You came to be, as it were.
It’s just like when a baby is born, you don’t say, “Oh, this baby has had an experience”; no! It is the baby that happened, and everyone rejoices because the baby has come on the scene. Therefore, being born again is that you were dead, but have come alive; you’re alive now.
Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:1, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.” Also, he said in Colossians 2:13, “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses.” The word “quicken” means “to come alive.”
Interestingly, being born again means you don’t have a past, so you can’t say, “something happened to me.” The “old you” died in Christ, and the new “you” has the resurrection life. It’s not the same person that died in Christ that’s alive now.
That’s why the Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your “past” has ceased to exist; buried with Jesus, and backdated to Calvary.
So from the moment you’re born again, you’re like a new born baby before God. That’s why the Bible says in 1 Peter 2:2, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby.” The one who’s born again is enjoined to learn and keep growing in the knowledge of the Word. God’s Word builds you and transforms your life from glory to glory.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for my new life in Christ; your divine nature in me has made me a master over circumstances, with dominion over the systems of this world. I’m growing unto maturity by the Word. My spirit is built up strong, and educated as I study and meditate on God’s Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Practical Wisdom

사도 바울은 에베소서 1:7-8에서 심오한 진리를 알려줍니다. 바로 모든 종류의 지혜가 그리스도 안에서 우리에게 부어졌다는 것입니다.
에베소서 1:8을 확대번역본으로 읽어보십시오. “… 하나님이 우리에게 모든 종류의 지혜와 이해를 (실제적인 통찰력과 총명) 넘치게 주셨으니” 잠시 멈춰서 이 계시 안에 잠겨 묵상해 보십시오.

“프로네시스”는 실제적인 지혜이며 그리스도 안에서 우리에게 주어졌습니다. 그리스도는 당신에게 하나님으로부터 온 지혜가 되셨습니다. 그 실제적인 지혜는 당신이 신성한 통찰력을 가지고 다양한 분야에 적용하고, 활용하고, 몰입할 수 있도록 힘을 줍니다. 당신이 정치, 법, 경영, 의료, 어떤 분야에서 일하고 있든지 당신은 탁월해집니다.
이 지혜는 당신의 자연적인 이해를 뛰어넘어 하나님의 뜻 안에 당신이 있게 하시고, 하나님의 목적을 위해 하나님의 시간에, 하나님의 방법으로, 하나님의 일을 하게 하는 영적인 만병통치약입니다! 이는 또한 사고방식입니다. 올바른 생각을 하게 하고, 올바른 장소에서, 올바른 목적을 위해, 올바른 시간에, 올바른 방법으로, 올바른 말을 하게 하는 탁월한 사고방식입니다. 할렐루야!

기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나는 그리스도 안에서 실제적인 지혜를 가질 수 있습니다. 나는 신성한 지혜 안에서 행합니다. 나는 바른 시간에, 바른 방식으로, 하나님의 목적을 위해, 바른 일을 행하고 바른 말을 합니다. 내 지혜이신 그리스도는 내 안에 효과적으로 역사하셔서 하나님의 영광을 위해 의의 일들과 열매들을 맺습니다. 할렐루야!

PRACTICAL WISDOM

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;” (Ephesians 1:7-8).

In Ephesians 1:7-8, the apostle Paul unveils a profound truth: every kind of wisdom has been lavished upon us in Christ.
Read the 8th verse in the Amplified version; it says, “…Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence).” Pause and let the weight of this revelation sink in.
Recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 12:42; He said, “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.” Solomon was given practical wisdom; it’s the same word that’s translated in our theme verse as “Prudence.”
The Greek Septuagint tells us that the wisdom that God gave to Solomon was “Phronesis.” In Luke 1:17, it’s described as “the wisdom of the just”: “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
“Phronesis” is practical wisdom, and it’s available to us in Christ. Christ has been made unto you wisdom from God. That practical wisdom empowers you to apply, utilize, and immerse yourself in various fields with divine insight. Whether in politics, law, business, medicine, or any profession, you become exceptional.
This wisdom is a spiritual elixir that locates you within the framework of God’s will, beyond your natural understanding, causing you to do God’s things God’s way, in God’s time for God’s purpose! It’s also a mind-set; an excellent mind-set that causes you to think in a certain way and to say the right things in the right way at the right time for the right purpose in the right place. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I affirm that in Christ, I have access to practical wisdom. I walk in divine wisdom; I do and say the right things at the right time, in the right way, for God’s purpose. Christ, my wisdom, effectively works in me to produce fruits and works of righteousness to the glory of God. Hallelujah!

모든 마귀에 대한 절대적인 통치권
Absolute Dominion Over All Devils

“내가 너희에게 뱀과 전갈을 밟으며 원수의 모든 능력을 제어할 권능을 주었으니 너희를 해칠 자가 결코 없으리라”(눅 10:19)

사도 바울은 에베소 성도들에게 보낸 편지에서 우리가 싸우고 있는 영적 전쟁의 실재를 밝히고, 마귀 세력의 구조를 설명해 줍니다. 우리는 통치자들과 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 영적 사악함(spiritual wickedness)을 상대합니다(엡 6:12, 한글 흠정역).
이 구절에서 “하늘에 있는 악한 영들”이라고 하지 않고 하늘에 있는 영적 사악함이라고 한 점에 주목하십시오. 나열된 것 모두 악한 영이지만 일부 마귀들은 다른 것들보다도 더 악합니다. 그러나 마귀 세력 구조가 어떻든지, 그들이 얼마나 악한지는 상관없습니다. 사탄을 포함한 그들 모두 당신 발아래 있습니다.
당신은 예수 그리스도의 이름 안에서, 그 이름으로 기능하기 때문에 영적인 영역에서 더 우월한 권세를 가지고 있습니다. 당신은 사탄이 어떤 권리도 가지지 못하는 빛의 왕국 안에 살고 기능합니다. 당신은 예수 그리스도의 권세와 승리 안에 살고 있습니다.

ABSOLUTE DOMINION OVER ALL DEVILS

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19)

In his letter to the Ephesians, the apostle Paul unveils the reality of the spiritual warfare we are engaged in and describes the hierarchy of demoniacal forces. We’re up against principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).
Observe it says spiritual wickedness in high places, not “wicked spirits in high places.” All of those listed are also wicked spirits, but some demons are more wicked than others. However, it makes no difference the hierarchy of demons and how wicked they’re described; they’re all under your feet, including their boss—Satan, himself!
You have superior authority in the spiritual because you function in and by the Name of Jesus Christ. You live and function in the Kingdom of light where Satan has no rights. You live in the victory and authority of Jesus Christ.
You have something that the devils can’t withstand—the Name of Jesus. Use it, and triumph gloriously, always! Exercise your dominion in Christ and cast out devils everywhere. Take charge of your nation, city, town and environment. Take charge of your life. Refuse to allow Satan run rampage in your home. You’re superior to him and his cohorts of hell; Jesus gave you absolute dominion over them. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I live and function in the Kingdom of light, with authority over Satan and the cohorts of darkness. I’ve been vested with all power and authority to subdue and decimate satanic forces and activities. I speak in the authority of Jesus even now, and declare that God’s will, plans and purposes for the nations of the world are established; His righteousness rules in men’s hearts and God’s Kingdom is established in the earth, and in the hearts of men, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Understanding The Word

“제자들이 예수께 나아와 이르되 어찌하여 그들에게 비유로 말씀하시나이까 대답하여 이르시되 천국의 비밀을 아는 것이 너희에게는 허락되었으나 그들에게는 아니되었나니”(마 13:10-11)

자신의 성경을 이해하는 능력에 대해 불평하는 사람들이 있습니다. 그들은 종종 “이 말씀은 너무 이해하기 어려워요. 아무리 공부해도 이해가 안 되는 것 같아요.” 라고 투덜거립니다. 절대 그런 식으로 말하지 마십시오.

고백
나는 신비를 이해할 수 있는 신성한 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 하나님의 지혜가 내 안에 역사하여 내 심령이 하고자 하는 모든 일에서 탁월한 결과를 냅니다. 내 삶은 비밀스럽지 않습니다. 내가 말씀을 묵상할 때 성령께서 영적인 실재들을 나에게 알려주시고 내 심령이 그분의 영광을 위해 예정된 길을 걷도록 계시해 주시기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

UNDERSTANDING THE WORD

“And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given” (Matthew 13:10-11).

There’re those who grumble about their ability to understand the Scriptures. Often, they’d complain, “These words are too difficult to understand; no matter how I study the Bible, I just don’t seem to have a grasp of it.” No, never talk that way.
It’s your divinely given right and ability to understand the scriptures. Read the words of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 13:11; He said, “…it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”
One of Satan’s tactics is to deceive God’s children, just as he attempted with Jesus, questioning His identity. The Bible tells us, “And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread” (Matthew 4:3). Same way, he’ll attempt to put doubts in your heart. Don’t yield to the Devil’s deception that you lack understanding. The power lies in accepting and declaring God’s truth.
Accept, endorse, and confess it. Align your words with His. Declare, “I understand,” and your understanding will be illuminated. The Bible recounts in John 20:21-22 how Jesus breathed on His disciples and said, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost.” When He did, their minds were opened to understand the scriptures.
It’s a similar miracle that occurred when you received the Holy Spirit. It’s the Spirit who enlightens your heart and enables you to receive and understand His truths. Always boldly affirm that you have the understanding of the righteous; you possess soundness of mind; you’re alert and imbued with keen insight.
You have the mind of Christ, which is an excellent mind (1 Corinthians 2:16). You’re super-intelligent and your mind is anointed to understand the scriptures; you have quickness of understanding. Have this mindset as you diligently study and meditate on the Word.

CONFESSION
I have the divine ability to comprehend mysteries. The wisdom of God is at work in me to produce excellent results in everything I set my heart to do! Life is not a mystery to me, because as I meditate on the Word, the Holy Spirit unveils spiritual realities to me, enlightening my heart to walk in paths ordained for His glory. Hallelujah!
