예수님은 사망을 폐하셨습니다

He Abolished Death

“이제는 우리 구주 그리스도 예수의 나타나심으로 말미암아 나타났으니 그는 사망을 폐하시고 복음으로써 생명과 썩지 아니할 것을 드러내신지라”(딤후 1:10)

몇 년 전 제가 오늘의 본문 구절을 접했을 때, 잠시 동안 저는 내용을 이해하지 못했습니다. “바울은 진짜 예수님이 사망을 폐하셨다고 말한걸까?” 저는 이 구절을 깊이 공부하고, 그리스어 원어를 찾아보고, 사용된 모든 단어를 분석했습니다. 그렇게 공부하고나자 이 구절이 말 그대로 예수 그리스도가 사망을 폐하셨다는 뜻이라는 것을 깨달았습니다.

어떤 사람들은 이에 대해 바울이 영적인 죽음을 이야기한 것이라고 이해하려고 합니다. 전혀 아닙니다! 오늘의 본문 구절에서 예수님이 사망을 폐하셨을 뿐 아니라 생명과 썩지 아니할 것을 드러내신 것을 보십시오.

사망이 영적인 죽음이라면 썩지 않을 것은 무슨 의미입니까? 성경은 영적으로 썩지 않을 것을 말한 것입니까? 그런 표현은 말이 되지 않습니다. 사실 그것은 모순입니다. 따라서, 바울이 썩지 않을 것을 언급한 이유는 그가 육신적인 죽음을 말했기 때문입니다.

그러나 어떤 사람들은 고린도전서 15:26과 같은 내용으로 인해 혼란스러워 합니다. “맨 나중에 멸망 받을 원수는 사망이니라” 그래서 그들은 “우리는 여전히 사망을 다뤄야 합니다. 사망은 가장 마지막에 사라질 원수입니다.”라고 말합니다. 아닙니다. 성경이 말하는 내용은 그렇지 않습니다.

마치 요한계시록에서 “내가 또 들으니 하늘에 큰 음성이 있어 이르되 이제 우리 하나님의 구원과 능력과 나라와 또 그의 그리스도의 권세가 나타났으니…”(계 12:10) 라고 말하는 내용과 같습니다. 그 음성이 말한 “이제 구원이 나타났으니”는 모든 사람이 처음으로 구원받았다는 뜻은 아닙니다.

따라서 성경에서 사망이 멸망받을 마지막 원수라고 말할 때는 불못에 던져질 영인 사망을 말하는 것입니다. “사망과 음부도 불못에 던져지니 이것은 둘째 사망 곧 불못이라”(계 20:14) 그 때에 사망은 멸망될 것입니다. 그러나 우리는 이미 사망을 이겼습니다. 사망의 법은 폐해졌습니다. 주님은 하늘에서 헛되이 오신 것이 아닙니다. 그분은 헛되이 죽지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 사망을 폐하고 그 일을 성취하셨습니다! 하나님을 송축합니다!

고백

사랑하는 아버지, 죽음과 지옥과 무덤에 대한 우리의 승리에 감사드립니다. 우리를 복음을 통해 생명과 썩지 않을 것에 이르게 하시니 감사합니다. 나는 그리스도 예수의 생명을 주는 영으로 태어났습니다. 따라서 나는 생명을 주는 영이며 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법으로 삽니다. 아멘.

HE ABOLISHED DEATH

“But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1:10).

When I came across this verse years ago, for a second I thought I didn’t see it. “Did Paul actually say Jesus Christ abolished death?” I wondered. I studied the verse in-depth, looking in the original Greek, and dissecting every word used. I found out after my study that the verse meant exactly what it said: Jesus Christ abolished death.

Some people try to reason it out and say Paul was referring to spiritual death. A thousand times, no! Observe from our opening verse that Jesus not only abolished death, He brought life and immortality to light.

If the death was spiritual death, what about immortality? Could the Bible have meant spiritual immortality? That expression makes no sense; in fact, it’s a contradiction. Thus, the reason Paul made reference to immortality is because he was talking about physical death.

Some people however get troubled by what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:26: “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” So they say, “We still have death to deal with; it’s the last enemy to be destroyed.” No, that’s not what the Scripture is saying and I’ll explain.

It’s like when the Bible says in the book of Revelation, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God…” (Revelation 12:10). The fact that the voice said, “Now is come salvation,” didn’t mean everyone in the world was receiving salvation for the first time. People had been saved before then.

So, when the Bible says death is the last enemy to be destroyed, it’s talking about death as a spirit that would be cast into the lake of fire: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death” (Revelation 20:14). That’s when death will be destroyed. But already, it has been overcome; the law of death has been abrogated. The Master didn’t come from heaven for nothing. He didn’t die for nothing. He came to abolish death and He achieved it! Blessed be God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for our victory over death, hell and the grave; thank you for bringing us into life and immortality through the gospel. I’m born of the life-giving Spirit of Christ Jesus. Therefore, I’m a life-giving spirit and I live by the law of the spirit of life in Jesus Christ Amen.

The Second Coming Is Not For The Saints

“… 주 예수께서 자기의 능력의 천사들과 함께 하늘로부터 불꽃 가운데에 나타나실 때에 하나님을 모르는 자들과 우리 주 예수의 복음에 복종하지 않는 자들에게 형벌을 내리시리니”(살후 1:7-8)

대부분의 사람들은 휴거와 그리스도의 재림을 구별하는 것에 대해 혼란스러워합니다. 그러나 성경은 이 두 가지 사건을 명확히 설명합니다.

첫째, 그리스도의 재림은 그리스도인들을 위한 것이 아닙니다. 교회의 휴거는 그리스도인들을 위한 것이며 재림 전에 일어날 것입니다.

그리스도의 재림 때 우리는 그분과 함께하겠지만, 재림은 심판의 시기입니다. 그분의 진노의 날, 심판의 날이라고 불리는 때입니다(살후 1:7). 이 심판은 그분의 천년왕국이 세워지기 전에 있을 것입니다. 예수님은 마태복음 24:29에서 친히 말씀하셨습니다. “그 날 환난 후에 즉시…” 이는 그리스도의 재림이 대환난 후에 일어날 것임을 알려줍니다.

마태복음 24:30은 말합니다. “그 때에 인자의 징조가 하늘에서 보이겠고 그 때에 땅의 모든 족속들이 통곡하며 그들이 인자가 구름을 타고 능력과 큰 영광으로 오는 것을 보리라” 그들은 예수님을 기대하지도, 믿지도 않았기 때문에 슬퍼하게 될 것입니다.

그러나 데살로니가후서 1:10에서 말하는 바에 주목해 보십시오. “그 날에 그분께서 오셔서 자신의 성도들 가운데서 영광을 받으시고 믿는 모든 자들 가운데서 칭송을 받으시리니 (이는 너희가 우리의 증언을 너희 가운데서 믿었기 때문이라.)” 이 구절은 예수님이 성도들에 “의해” 영광 받는다고 말하지 않습니다. 성도들 가운데서 영광을 받으신다고 말합니다. 여기서 중요한 점은 예수님이 우리들 가운데서 영광스러워지시고 우리를 보는 사람들이 우리 안에 계신 그분을 경배하게 될 것입니다. 그들은 우리 가운데 있는 그분의 영광에 놀라게 될 것입니다.

이는 요한일서 3장에서 사도 요한이 말한 바와 일치합니다. “…그가 나타나시면 우리가 그와 같을 줄을 아는 것은 그의 참모습 그대로 볼 것이기 때문이니”(요일 3:2) 예수님이 오실 때 우리는 그분과 함께 오고, 그분과 같이 보일 것입니다. 사람들은 우리 안에서 그분의 영광을 볼 것이고, 그 영광에 놀라게 될 것입니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 하나님의 영과 말씀으로 인해 나는 교회의 휴거를 준비하고, 날마나 주님을 위해 살아갑니다. 나는 사랑 안에서 행하며 내 믿음은 활성화되어 주님이 나타나실 때 그분을 만나도록 끌어올려집니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE SECOND COMING IS NOT FOR THE SAINTS

“…when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8).

The distinction between the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ, for most people, has been a source of confusion. Nevertheless, the scriptures unambiguously delineate these two distinct events.

First, the Second Coming of Christ is not intended for Christians. The rapture of the Church is meant for Christians, and it will occur before the Second Coming.

In the Second Coming of Christ, we’ll come together with Him, but it’s primarily a time of judgment. It’s called the day of His wrath, the day of His judgment (2 Thessalonians 1:7). This judgment takes place before He establishes the 1000 years of peace. In Matthew 24:29, where Jesus Himself speaks about this, He said, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days…” This indicates that the Second Coming of Christ will occur after the Great Tribulation.

Matthew 24:30 says, “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” They will mourn because they weren’t expecting Him, they didn’t believe in Him.

But notice what it says in the 10th verse; this judgment will take place “When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.” Observe that it doesn’t say when He shall come to be glorified “by” His saints, but “in” His saints. The significance here is that He will be glorified in us, and those who see us will admire Him in us. They’d wonder at His glory in us.

This aligns with what John said in 1 John 3, “… when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” When He comes, we come with Him, looking like Him; they’ll see His glory in us, and they’ll wonder at it. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, by your Spirit and your Word, I’m prepared for the rapture of the Church, living my life for the Lord, every day. I walk in love, and my faith is activated to be caught up to meet the Lord at His appearing, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

우리를 위한 본

A Practise For Us

“본래 하나님을 본 사람이 없으되 아버지 품 속에 있는 독생하신 하나님이 나타내셨느니라”(요 1:18)

오늘의 본문 구절에 등장하는 “나타나다”는 그리스어 “엑세게마이(exegeomai)”에서 유래되었으며, 이는 익히다, 펼치다 등의 의미입니다. 따라서 이 구절에서 말하는 바는 예수님이 우리에게 신성을 보여주셨다는 것입니다. 성경에 기록된 그분이 어떻게 살고 행하셨는지에 대한 내용은 우리가 왕국의 삶을 어떻게 살아야 하는지 알게 하시려고 그분께서 보여주신 것입니다.

성경이 하나님께서 우리에게 본을 끼쳐 그 자취를 따라오게 하셨다고 말하는 것은 당연합니다. “이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 받았으니 그리스도도 너희를 위하여 고난을 받으사 너희에게 본을 끼쳐 그 자취를 따라오게 하려 하셨느니라”(벧전 2:21) 예수님은 우리에게 하나님과 같은 생명을 보여주셨습니다. 그분은 우리에게 의를 보여주셨습니다.

예수님은 우리가 하나님이 어떤 분이신지 알 수 있도록 오셨습니다. 요한복음 1:14은 말합니다. “말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라” 또한 요한복음 14:9은 말합니다. “… 나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았거늘 어찌하여 아버지를 보이라 하느냐” 놀라운 말씀입니다!

하나님은 당신이 이와 동일한 의식을 갖기 원하십니다. 하나님은 당신이 예수님처럼 생각하고 말하기 원하십니다. 예수님의 인격과 성품이 당신 안에서 그리고 당신을 통해 얼마나 표현되고 있습니까? 에베소서 5:1-2은 말합니다. “그러므로 사랑을 받는 자녀 같이 너희는 하나님을 본받는 자가 되고 그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라 그는 우리를 위하여 자신을 버리사 향기로운 제물과 희생제물로 하나님께 드리셨느니라”

“본 받는 자”라는 단어는 모방자라는 뜻의 그리스어 “미메테스(mimetes)”에서 유래되었습니다. 우리가 하나님을 본받을 수 있는 유일한 이유는 예수 그리스도 안에서 하나님을 봤기 때문입니다. 예수님은 하나님을 나타내기 위해 오셨습니다. 예를 들어, 우리가 자주 하나님이 얼마나 우리를 사랑하시는지 얘기하지만, 예수님의 삶을 보기 전까지는 그 사랑을 설명할 수 없었습니다. 이제 우리는 그리스도께서 우리를 사랑하셨듯이 사랑 가운데 행할 수 있습니다. 그리스도께서 하나님의 사랑을 어떻게 실천하는지 보여주셨습니다. 할렐루야!

기도

나는 사랑과 의 가운데 행하며 나의 세상에 그리스도의 성품을 나타냅니다. 나는 예수님처럼 생각하고 말하고 행동하며 내 안에 있는 하나님의 생명을 표현하고 내 안에 있는 하나님의 신성한 성품으로 내 세상에 영향을 미칩니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

A PRACTISE FOR US

“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him” (John 1:18).

The word declared in our opening verse is from the Greek “exegeomai” and it means to rehearse or unfold. So, what that verse is saying is that Jesus rehearsed divinity to us. How He lived, and the things He did, as recorded in the Scriptures, was a practice for us to see and know how to live the life of the Kingdom.

No wonder the Bible says He has given us an example that we should follow His steps: “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving is an example, that ye should follow his steps” (1 Peter 2:21). Jesus rehearsed the God-life to us. He rehearsed righteousness to us.

He came to live before us, so we could know what God is like. John 1:14 says, “And the Word was made (became) flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” He said in John 14:9, “…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father.” Amazing words!

God wants you to have the same consciousness. He wants you to think and talk like Jesus. How much of the person and character of Jesus is expressed in and through you? Ephesians 5:1-2 says, “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”

The word “followers,” is from the Greek “mimetes,” meaning to be an imitator; to copy another. The only reason we can imitate God is because we’ve seen Him in Jesus Christ. Jesus came to unveil Him. For example, we often talk about how God loves us, but we couldn’t describe that love until we saw Jesus in action. Now we can walk in love, as Christ also loved us. Christ showed us how to practice God’s love. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I walk in love and righteousness, and display the character of Christ to my world. I think, talk, and act like Jesus, expressing the God-life in me and impacting my world with the divine nature of God in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

어둠에 대한 통치권

Dominion Over Darkness

“그가 우리를 흑암의 권세에서 건져내사 그의 사랑의 아들의 나라로 옮기셨으니”(골 1:13)

그리스도인들에게는 귀신을 쫓아내는 일에 관한 특별한 부르심이나 직분, 독특한 은사가 없습니다. 성경 어디에도 그러한 은사는 언급되어 있지 않습니다. 오히려 성경은 모든 그리스도인이 어떤 예외 없이 귀신을 쫓아낼 수 있는 권세와 능력이 가지고 있다고 말합니다. 이 진리는 예수님의 말씀에 확실하게 나타납니다. “믿는 자들에게는 이런 표적이 따르리니 곧 그들이 내 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아내며…”(막 16:17-18)

주님께서 말씀하신 내용을 주의 깊게 보십시오. “믿는 자들에게는 이런 표적이 따르리니…” 말씀은 “특별한 은사나 능력을 가진 자들”이라고 말하지 않고 예수님을 믿는 자들이라고 말합니다. 여기에는 당신도 포함됩니다. 사탄에 대한 우리의 통치권과 우월함은 그리스도 안에 있는 우리의 정체성과 예수 이름을 사용할 수 있는 권세 덕분입니다. 따라서, 귀신을 쫓아내기 위해 “강력한 기도”를 해야 한다는 생각은 불필요합니다. 당신이 해야 할 일은 예수 이름 안에 있는 능력을 인식하고, 귀신을 굴복시키는 일에 사용하는 것뿐입니다.

사도 바울은 골로새서 1:13에서 핵심적인 실재를 상기시켜 줍니다. 우리는 사탄의 권세 아래 있지 않습니다. 이 실재는 당신의 삶에서 분명하게 나타나야 합니다. 원수의 방해 없이 자유롭게 사십시오. 당신의 삶은 당신이 원하는 만큼 영광스러울 수 있습니다. 당신은 자신의 갈망을 실재화할 수 있는 권세를 가지고 있습니다.

마귀를 해결해 달라고 하나님께 간구할 필요가 없습니다. 그분은 당신이 이미 오기 오래전에 이미 원수에 대한 완전한 승리를 거두셨기 때문입니다. 예수님은 2천 년 전에 단호하게 마귀를 처리하셨습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “통치자들과 권세들을 무력화하여 드러내어 구경거리로 삼으시고 십자가로 그들을 이기셨느니라”(골 2:15)

그리고 어떤 일이 일어났는지 아십니까? 예수님이 그들을 물리치셨을 때, 당신은 그분 안에 있었습니다. 그리스도 안에서 당신은 사탄을 어둠의 권세를 이겼습니다. 바로 이것이 당신이 그들보다 우월하고 그들을 다스리고 통치할 수 있는 이유입니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 사탄과 어둠의 권세에 대한 교회의 권세와 능력에 감사드립니다. 나는 영광, 통치권, 능력 안에 그리스도와 함께 앉아 있습니다. 나는 오늘 그리고 항상 이 세상의 상황과 요소들을 다스리고 통치합니다. 내가 예수 그리스도의 이름 안에, 그 이름으로 살고 있기 때문입니다. 아멘.

DOMINION OVER DARKNESS

“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13).

There’s no specific calling, office or a unique gift among Christians that’s exclusively for casting out demons. Nowhere in the Bible is such a gift mentioned. Rather, what the Bible says is that every Christian, without exception, has the authority and ability to cast out demons. This truth is firmly established in the words of Jesus: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…” (Mark 16:17-18).

I want you to carefully observe what the Master said: “These signs shall follow them that believe,” not “them with special gifts or ability,” but those who believe in Him. That includes you. Our dominion and superiority over Satan is simply because of who we are in Christ and the power of attorney He’s given to us to use His Name. So, the idea of needing someone to pray a “powerful prayer” for you to cast the devil out is unnecessary. What you simply need is the recognition of the power in the Name of Jesus and use it to subdue demons.

In Colossians 1:13, the apostle Paul reminds us of a fundamental reality: we’re not under the jurisdiction of Satan. This truth should be evident in your life; live free from the encumbrances of the enemy. Your life can be as glorious as you desire it to be; you have the authority to make it happen.

There’s no need to implore God to deal with the devil for you, because He has already executed the full victory over the enemy long before you came on the scene. Almost two thousand years ago, Jesus decisively dealt with the devil. The Bible says, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15).

And guess what? When Jesus defeated them, you were in Him. In Christ, you defeated Satan and the principalities of darkness. It’s the reason you’re superior to them and can reign and rule over them. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the authority and power you have given to the Church over Satan and the principalities of darkness. I’m seated with Christ in glory, dominion and power. I reign and rule over the circumstances and elements of this world, today and always, because I live in, and by the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

예수 그리스도 – 하나님의 모습

Jesus Christ – The Profile Of God

“… 나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았거늘 어찌하여 아버지를 보이라 하느냐”(요 14:9)

오늘의 본문 구절은 주님의 제자 중 한 명이었던 빌립이 아버지를 보여달라고 요청하자, 주님께서 그에 대한 대답으로 직접 하신 말씀입니다. 예수님은 단도직입적으로 말씀하셨습니다. 그분은 “네가 나를 봤다면 아버지를 본 것이다.”라고 말씀하셨습니다. 다시 말해, “내가 아버지의 모습이다.”라고 말씀하신 것입니다.

성경은 예수님이 보이지 않는 하나님의 형상(상징)이라고 말합니다(고전 4:4, 골 1:15). 이는 예수님이 하나님의 시각적 표현이자 닮음, 즉 하나님의 모습이라는 뜻입니다. 하나님이 어떤 모습인지 알고 싶다면 예수님이 바로 그 모습입니다. 예수님은 신성의 모든 특징, 묘사, 속성을 가지고 계십니다.

이는 히브리서 1:3에서 예수님이 하나님의 영광의 광채이자 그분의 본체의 “형상”이라고 말한 것과 유사합니다. 여기서 나오는 “형상”(그리스어 ‘캐랙터’)이라는 단어는 나타난 모습이라는 뜻입니다. 또한 팩스 혹은 인쇄의 사본을 의미합니다. 예수님은 하나님의 사본과 같습니다. 정말 놀라운 사실입니다!

성경은 예수님 안에 신성의 모든 충만이 육체로 거하신다고 말합니다(골 2:9). 하나님께서는 그분(예수님)의 안에 모든 충만을 머무르게 하시기를 기뻐하십니다(골 1:19). 예수님이 요한복음 10:30에서 “나와 아버지는 하나이니라”고 말씀하신 것은 당연합니다.

예수님을 본다면, 하나님과 성령님을 찾아 볼 필요가 없습니다. 예수님은 신성의 완전한 모습이시고 모형이십니다. 예수님은 하나님의 영광과 존귀와 위엄의 나타남이십니다. 그분의 이름을 영원히 송축합니다!

기도

JESUS CHRIST—THE PROFILE OF GOD

“…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” (John 14:9).

The statement above came right out of the lips of the Master as part of His response to Philip, one of His disciples who asked Him to show them the Father. Jesus minced no words; He said, “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.” In other words, “I’m the profile of the Father.”

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the image (icon) of the invisible God (1 Corinthians 4:4, Colossians 1:15). That means He’s the resemblance and visual representation of God, the profile of God. If you want to know what God looks like, Jesus is the profile; He has all the characteristics, descriptions and attributes of Deity.

This is akin to what we find in Hebrews 1:3 that says Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory, and the “express image” of His person. Here, “charakter” (Greek) is used for express image; and it means the facsimile or print copy. Jesus is the facsimile or print copy of God. This is amazing!

The Bible says in Jesus dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9). It pleased the Father that in Him (Jesus) should all fullness dwell (Colossians 1:19). No wonder He said in John 10:30, “I and my Father are one.”

When you see Jesus, you won’t need to look for the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the perfect appearance and replica of the Godhead. He’s the expression of God’s glory, honour and majesty. Blessed be His Name forever!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m in awe of your glory, honour and majesty as revealed in Jesus Christ—the “the print copy” of your divine essence—the clear and unmistakable representation of your character and nature. Lord, Jesus, you’re the beauty of divinity and the perfect expression of the Father’s person. I worship and adore you, forever. Amen.

방금 읽은 오늘의 본문 구절의 내용을 주목해 보십시오. 이 세상의 신, 사탄은 복음을 믿지 않는 사람들의 마음을 혼미케 했습니다. 무슨 목적을 위해 그렇게 했습니까? 그리스도의 “영광스러운 복음”의 광채가 그들에게 비치지 못하게 하기 위해서 입니다. 그러나 사탄은 패배했습니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

사단이 그들의 눈을 가렸지만, 당신의 목적은 그들의 어둠을 무너뜨리는 것입니다. 당신에게는 예수 그리스도의 복음으로 그들의 눈을 뜨게 할 권세가 있습니다. 그것은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력입니다(롬 1:16).

OVERTURN THEIR DARKNESS

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them”(2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

Notice what we just read: Satan, the god of this world, blinded the minds of those who don’t believe the Gospel; for what purpose? So that the light of the “glorious Gospel” of Christ should not shine unto them. But he’s been defeated. Glory to God!

Through the power of the Name of Jesus, we’re able to break Satan’s hold and influence over people’s lives and cause the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ to shine unto them. We overturn their blindness. Hallelujah!

The Bible says in Acts 26:16-18, “…for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness…Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God.” What a ministry; what a calling! We’re sent “…To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God.”

Satan blinded them, but your purpose is to overturn their darkness. You have the power to open their eyes through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to all who believe (Romans 1:16).

When you share the Gospel with those who haven’t known the Lord, their eyes are opened. That’s why you’re in that city, that’s why you’re in that town, that’s why you’re in that country—to preach the Gospel and turn men from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation that through the Name of Jesus, we have the authority and ability to overturn the darkness that blinds the minds of those who do not believe. Today, as the Gospel is preached around the world, many are turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Your Obligations In The Kingdom

성경 특히 복음서를 읽어보면 주 예수님께서 하나님의 왕국에 대해 가르치신 경우를 많이 볼 수 있습니다. 예수님은 제자들이 왕국에서 어떻게 살고 책임을 다해야 하는지 알기 원하셨기 때문에 하나님의 왕국에 대해 가르치셨습니다.

당신이 그리스도 안으로 들어올 때, 하나님의 말씀에 분명하게 설명된 대로 주님이 당신을 위해 행하실 일들, 실제로는 이미 이루어진 일들이 있습니다. 그러나 당신은 또한 주님이 말씀하신 대로 그분을 위해 살아야 할 책임도 있습니다. 당신은 이 땅에 자신이 아닌 하나님의 목적을 위해 살고 있습니다.

그렇기 때문에 당신은 왕국에서의 삶을 이해하기 위해 하나님의 말씀, 즉 성경을 공부해야 합니다. 하나님의 말씀은 왕국의 권리, 축복, 특권, 책임에 대해 자세히 설명하고 이해하는 데 도움이 됩니다. 하나님의 말씀은 왕국에 대한 예언, 역사, 지시, 정보를 줍니다. 하나님의 말씀은 하나님의 왕국에 대한 것들로 당신을 훈련시키기 위해 하나님께서 계획하시고 영감을 주신 것입니다.

YOUR OBLIGATIONS IN THE KINGDOM

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

In the scriptures, especially reading through the Gospels, you’d find many instances where the Lord Jesus taught on the Kingdom of God. He did this because He wanted His disciples to understand how to live and be responsible in the Kingdom.

When you come into Christ, there are things the Lord will do for you as clearly spelt out in His Word which, actually, have already been done. But you also owe Him a responsibility to live for Him as He has said. You’re living here on earth, not for yourself, but for God’s purpose.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 says, “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” To live for Him means you have to do things His way, not your way; you make His priorities your priorities. Your life is about the expansion and establishment of His Kingdom in all the earth and in the hearts of men.

That’s why you have to study God’s Word—the Scriptures—to understand life in the Kingdom. God’s Word is the document that details and helps you understand your Kingdom rights, blessings, privileges and responsibilities. It gives you prophecy, history, instructions and information on the Kingdom. It’s designed and inspired by God to train you in the things concerning the Kingdom of God.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I wholeheartedly fulfil my obligation in the kingdom; I’m set on the right path to fulfil, and live toward you, walking in preordained pathways, to the glory and praise of your Name. Amen.

God’s Executive Assistants

오늘의 본문 구절에서 “종”으로 번역된 그리스어는 “후페테스”로 공직자, 보자관을 의미합니다. 주님께서 바울에게 “너를 나의 조수, 보자관 삼는다”고 하신 것입니다. 얼마나 영광스러운 일입니까? 성경은 우리가 그분의 증인이라고 말합니다. 그분은 우리를 새 언약의 능력 있는 일꾼, 화해의 일꾼으로 만드셨습니다(고후 3:6). 할렐루야!

고린도후서 5:18은 말합니다. “모든 것이 하나님께로서 났으며 그가 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 자기와 화목하게 하시고 또 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 주셨으니” 당신은 메시지를 가지고 있습니다. 당신은 목적을 가지고 있습니다. 당신의 일은 너무나 중요합니다. 당신의 일은 사람들이 예수님을 발견하고, 그들이 어둠과 죄와 죽음에서 나와 의와 영생 안에 들어가도록 돕는 것입니다. 정말 대단한 사역입니다!

당신의 세상에서 효과적인 증인이 되십시오. 복음을 전하려는 불타는 열정으로 당신의 세상에 있는 모든 사람이 곧 오실 주님의 재림을 준비하도록 하십시오. 당신이 그들이 복음을 듣고 받아들일 마지막 혹은 유일한 소망일 수 있습니다. 그리스도를 위해 영혼을 구원하도록 모든 기회를 활용하십시오!

GOD’S EXECUTIVE ASSISTANTS

“…for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee”(Acts 26:16).

The Greek word translated minister above is “huperetes” and it means an official, an executive assistant. That’s what the Lord said to Paul, “to make you my assistant, my official executive assistant.” What an honour. The Bible says we’re His witnesses; He’s made us able ministers of the New Testament (2 Corinthians 3:6), ministers of reconciliation. Hallelujah!

2 Corinthians 5:18 says, “…And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” You have a message; you have a purpose. Your job is so important: it’s to help men and women discover Jesus, bringing them out of darkness, sin, and death into righteousness and eternal life. What a ministry!

You’re His representative; therefore, you have to be bold with the message that He’s committed to you. You have to preach it confidently and with power. Think about the officials in your country who represent the government; imagine how bold and how confident they work, walk and talk—because they’re conscious that their government is behind them.

You represent the government of Heaven; therefore, you’re backed by divine authority. The Lord said in Matthew 28:18, “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Then on the basis of that authority He said to us in the very next verse, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:19-20).

There’s no higher mandate than the one given to us by Jesus Christ to take the Gospel to every man’s world. He has commanded us to go and speak and act in His Name. We’re His ambassadors, to make students of the nations, to show them how to live.

Be an effective witness in your world. Have a burning passion to make the Gospel known, and get everyone in your world ready for the Master’s soon return. You might be the last or only hope they have to hear and receive the Gospel. Take advantage of every opportunity today to win souls for Christ!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for making me an effective witness of the Gospel. I’m filled with a burning passion to make the Gospel known. I seize every opportunity to win souls for Christ, divinely empowered and strengthened to share your message with unwavering enthusiasm and conviction, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

성령으로 빛나십시오

Lambent By The Holy Ghost

“너희가 전에는 어둠이더니 이제는 주 안에서 빛이라 빛의 자녀들처럼 행하라”(엡 5:8)

에베소서 1:18에 주목할 만한 내용이 있습니다. “너희 마음의 눈을 밝히사 그의 부르심의 소망이 무엇이며 성도 안에서 그 기업의 영광의 풍성함이 무엇이며” 여기 등장하는 “밝히다”라는 단어는 “포티조”(그리스어)입니다. 빛을 비추다, 어떤 것에 빛을 밝히다, 불을 켠다는 뜻입니다. 바로 이것이 당신의 삶에서 성령님이 하시는 사역입니다.

성령님의 사역을 통해 우리는 빛나게 됩니다. 그리고 이것은 단지 한 부분에 불과합니다. 동일한 성령님으로 말미암은 말씀의 사역을 통해 우리 안에서 일어나는 일이 또 다른 부분입니다. 성령님은 그분의 사역을 통해 말씀으로 우리가 깨닫게 하시고 빛나게 하십니다. 우리가 말씀을 묵상할 때 이런 일이 일어납니다.

빛나게 되는 것과 빛이 되는 것은 다릅니다. 당신은 말씀을 통해 빛으로 태어났기 때문에 당신은 빛이 되었습니다. 당신의 빛은 말씀 없이는 희미합니다. 하나님의 말씀은 빛입니다(시 119:105). 성경이 그리스도의 말씀이 당신 안에 풍성히 거하게 하라고 말한 것은 놀라운 일이 아닙니다(골 3:16).

LAMBENT BY THE HOLY GHOST

“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light”(Ephesians 5:8).

There’s a remarkable thought in Ephesians 1:18; it says, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.” The word enlightened is “photizo” (Greek). It means to shine the light on, to turn light on something or light up. This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Through the ministry of the Spirit, we’re illuminated, and that’s just one part. The second part is what happens in us through the ministry of the Word by the same Spirit. The Holy Spirit, through His ministry, enlightens us with the Word to become luminous—lambent. This happens in meditation.

It’s one thing to be illuminated, but it’s another thing to become lambent. You become a light, because you were born to be a light through the Word. Without the Word, your light is dim. The Word of God is light (Psalm 119:105). No wonder the Bible says to let the words of Christ dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16).

The more you inundate your spirit with the Word, the more your light shines, the more lambent you become. The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

With the Word inside you, the fire burns, you become incandescent; you light up everywhere. You’re not only a light to your family, you’re a light to your city, your nation and the nations of the world. Even now, lift your hands and declare, “I’m a light to the nations. I’m lambent by the Holy Ghost that dwells in me. I’m a light in the Lord, and I walk as a child of light. I’m shining brightly.” Blessed be God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who enlightens me with the Word to become luminous—lambent. I’m a light to the nations. Thank you for flooding my heart with light so that I may know and fulfil my purpose and destiny in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

섬김을 위해 부름 받았습니다

Called Out To Service

“만일 내가 지체하면 너로 하여금 하나님의 집에서 어떻게 행하여야 할지를 알게 하려 함이니 이 집은 살아 계신 하나님의 교회요 진리의 기둥과 터니라”(딤전 3:15)

신약 성경에서 교회는 실제로 “에클레시아”(부름)로부터 “부름 받은 자들”을 의미합니다. 우리가 하나님의 부름 받은 자들이라고 말할 때 그것은 세상에서 하나님께로 부름 받은 것을 의미하지 않습니다. 실제로 우리는 집에서 나와 섬기도록 부름 받았다는 뜻입니다.

히브리서 13:13에서 이러한 내용을 볼 수 있습니다. “그런즉 우리도 그의 치욕을 짊어지고 영문 밖으로 그에게 나아가자” 여기 나오는 “영문 밖으로”에 주목하십시오. 이는 진영 밖이라는 뜻입니다. 우리는 진영 밖에서 그분을 섬기도록 부르심을 받은 사람들입니다

이는 성경이 예수 그리스도께서 성문 밖에서 십자가에 못 박히셨다고 말한 내용을 반영합니다. 그러므로 우리도 그분의 치욕을 짊어지고 영문 밖으로 그에게 나아가자고 말씀하십니다. 이어지는 14절에서는 이에 대해 좀 더 명확하게 설명합니다. “우리가 여기에는 영구한 도성이 없으므로 장차 올 것을 찾나니” 다른 말로, 그분의 일을 하자는 것입니다.

우리가 교회로서 모일 때 목적이 있습니다. 우리는 주님께서 우리에게 명령하신 것을 행하기 위해 그분을 찬양하러 모입니다. 주님은 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “또 이르시되 너희는 온 천하에 다니며 만민에게 복음을 전파하라”(막 16:15) 진짜 사역은 진영 밖에 있습니다. 우리는 주님의 구원하는 능력의 소식을 땅끝까지 전하도록 보냄 받았습니다.

기도

나는 목적과 섬김의 사명을 위해 부름 받았습니다. 따라서 나는 하나님이 나를 부르신 섬김의 일에 근면하고 신실하여 복음이 전해지지 않은 사람들에게 가서 복음의 메시지로 세상을 가득 채우는 일에 헌신합니다. 나는 그 일을 목적과 열정으로 성취합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

CALLED OUT TO SERVICE

“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15).

The word Church in the New Testament really means “the called out ones”; from the “Ecclesia” (a calling out). And when we say we’re God’s called-out ones, it doesn’t refer to being called out of the world unto God. What actually happens is that we’re called out from home to service.

We find this captured in Hebrews 13:13, which says, “Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.” Mark the expression, “without the camp”; it means outside the camp. We’re the called out ones to serve Him outside the camp.

It mirrors what the Bible says, that Jesus Christ was crucified outside the gates, outside the city gates. So He says let us also go forth therefore unto Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. It’s about our work of service, our evangelical work to the whole world. The ensuing verse 14 clarifies it some more; it says, “…For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. In other words, get to work, do His work.

When we gather as the Church, it’s for a purpose; we come to praise Him for the purpose of going to do what He told us to do. He said: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). The real work is outside the camp. We’ve been sent to spread the news of His saving power to the ends of the earth.

PRAYER

I’m called out to a purpose, to a mission of service. Therefore, I commit myself to be diligent and faithful in the work of service you have called me to, to reach the unreached and saturate the world with the message of the Gospel. I fulfil it with purpose and passion, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
