예수님의 소망에 영감을 받으십시오
Be Inspired By His Hope
“소망이 우리를 부끄럽게 하지 아니함은 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음에 부은 바 됨이니”(롬 5:5)
성경은 우리에게 “소망”이 장차 올 세상에 존재할 원리 중 하나임을 보여줍니다. 소망은 기대하고 미래를 생각하는 능력입니다. 요한복음 17장에 기록된 것처럼 예수님은 아버지의 손에 그분의 제자들을 맡기시며, 그분의 아름답고 감동적인 기도를 통해 소망이 무엇인지 보여주셨습니다. “내가 비옵는 것은 이 사람들만 위함이 아니요 또 그들의 말로 말미암아 나를 믿는 사람들도 위함이니…”(요 17:20-22)
예수님이 어떻게 제자들만이 아니라 그들의 증언을 통해 그분을 믿게 될 사람들의 미래에 대한 소망으로 아버지를 신뢰하셨는지를 보면 정말 놀랍습니다.
그분이 그토록 위대한 소망을 보여주신 예시가 또 있습니다. 그것은 예수님께서 겟세마네 동산에서 매우 근심하고 괴로워하며 기도하셨을 때입니다. 그분의 몸에서는 땀이 핏방울처럼 떨어졌습니다. 그러나 저는 당신이 그분의 기도 내용에 집중하기 원합니다. 성경은 그분이 “… 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서”(마 26:39)라고 기도하셨다고 말합니다.
예수님은 믿음의 사람이셨지만, 이 맥락에서 그분은 소망을 품고 계셨습니다. 그분은 그 소망에 대한 결과 때문에 십자가를 견디셨습니다. 예수님은 십자가에 달리셨을 때에도 소망을 보여주셨습니다. 심지어 죽음 가운데서도 소망을 보여주셨습니다! 이분이 바로 바울이 “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고후 5:17)라고 말했을 때 언급한 그리스도이십니다.
이제 당신은 그분 안에 있으므로 그분처럼 죽음 앞에서도 아버지 안에서 소망을 가질 수 있습니다. 당신은 기도 가운데 공개적으로 그리스도를 대적하는 자들이 진정 그분을 믿고, 다소의 사울처럼 그들의 심령을 그분께로 돌이키며, 성령의 능력으로 말미암아 구원을 받게 될 것을 소망할 수 있습니까?
소망의 중요성을 배우십시오. 성경은 “소망은 우리를 실망시키지 않습니다. 우리 마음 안에 하나님의 사랑이 있기 때문입니다.”라고 말합니다(롬 5:5). 그분의 소망에 영감을 받으십시오! 성경은 그 소망이 혼의 닻이라고 말합니다. “이는 하나님께서 거짓말을 하실 수 없는 이 두 가지 변치 못할 사실로 인하여 우리 앞에 놓여진 소망을 붙들기 위해 피난처를 찾아 나온 우리로 든든한 위로를 받게 하려 하심이라. 우리가 이 소망을 혼의 닻같이 가졌으니 확실하고 견고한 소망이라…”(히 6:18-20, 한글킹제임스) 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 당신의 말씀을 통해 나의 승리와 성공과 성취가 항상 계속되기를 소망합니다. 나는 전 세계 영혼들을 위해 기도합니다. 이 마지막 때에 큰 은혜가 전 세계 영혼들에게 임하여 그들이 복음을 들을 때 그들의 삶에 구원의 역사가 일어나 당신의 이름에 찬양과 영광을 드리도록 기도합니다. 할렐루야!

BE INSPIRED BY HIS HOPE
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5).
The Bible shows us that “hope” is one of the principles that’ll exist in the world to come.
Hope is the ability to expect and to project into the future. Jesus demonstrated hope in His beautiful and inspiring prayer in John 17, as He committed His disciples into the Father’s hands. He said, “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word” (John 17:20).
It’s amazing how Jesus trusted the Father with His hopes for the future of His disciples and those who would believe in Him through their witness. He not only had faith, but hope as well. He looked to the Father, with hope. What an inspiration!
There’s another instance where He demonstrated such great hope. That was when He prayed with great anguish and agony of soul in the Garden of Gethsemane, such that sweat came out of His body like great drops of blood. But I want you to notice the content of His prayers. The Bible says He prayed,
“…O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt” (Matthew 26:39).
Jesus was a man of faith, but in this context, He was hopeful. He endured the Cross because of the outcome of His hope. He demonstrated hope while He hung on the Cross; hope even in death! This is the Christ that Paul referred to when he announced,
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Now, you’re in Him and can therefore be hopeful in the Father as He was, even in the face of death.
Can you be hopeful in prayer that those who openly oppose Christ can truly believe and turn their hearts to Him like Saul of Tarsus, and receive salvation for their souls by the power of the Holy Ghost?
Learn the value of hope. The Word declares that “hope doesn’t disappoint, because of God’s love in our hearts” (Romans 5:5). Be inspired by His hope! That hope, the Bible says, is an anchor for the soul: “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…” (Hebrews 6:18-19). Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, through your Word, I’m hopeful that my victories, triumphs and accomplishments are abiding.
I pray for souls around the world, that great grace be directed towards them and that the work of salvation be wrought in their lives as they hear the Gospel, to the praise and glory of your Name. Hallelujah!
