바른 그림을 보십시오

“그를 이끌고 밖으로 나가 이르시되 하늘을 우러러 뭇별을 셀 수 있나 보라 또 그에게 이르시되 네 자손이 이와 같으리라 아브람이 여호와를 믿으니 여호와께서 이를 그의 의로 여기시고”(창 15:5-6)
오늘의 본문 구절에서 하나님은 아브라함에게 어떻게 믿음의 눈으로 보는지에 대한 매우 중요한 훈련을 시켜주셨습니다. 주님은 아브라함에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 너로 큰 민족을 이루고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 창대하게 하리니 너는 복이 될지라”(창 12:2)
그러나 아브라함은 그 일이 어떻게 일어날지 잘 “보지” 못했습니다. 그래서 아브람은 주님께 반박하며 말했습니다. “주 여호와여 무엇을 내게 주시려 하나이까 나는 자식이 없사오니 나의 상속자는 이 다메섹 사람 엘리에셀이니이다”(창 15:2)
그러나 주님께서는 밤에 아브라함을 데리고 나가셔서 하늘의 별들을 세어보라고 하셨습니다. 물론 별들의 수는 매우 많았습니다. 아브라함이 별을 세기 위해 애쓰고 있을 때, 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 “네 자손이 이와 같으리라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 아브라함은 그것을 믿었습니다. 그리고 아브라함이 믿는 순간, 그는 그것을 소유하게 되었습니다. 하나님은 아브라함이 자신의 영적인 시각을 사용할 수 있도록 그를 훈련시켜 주셨습니다. 이것은 영적인 일입니다. 당신의 생각, 마음, 환경 이상으로 바라보는 것입니다. 믿음의 눈으로 바라보는 것입니다.
또 한번은 롯이 아브라함을 떠난 후에 하나님께서 아브라함에게 말씀하셨습니다. “롯이 아브람을 떠난 후에 여호와께서 아브람에게 이르시되 너는 눈을 들어 너 있는 곳에서 북쪽과 남쪽 그리고 동쪽과 서쪽을 바라보라 보이는 땅을 내가 너와 네 자손에게 주리니 영원히 이르리라”(창 13:14-15)
이때 아브라함은 영적인 시각을 어떻게 사용해야 하는지 알고 있었습니다. 하나님의 지시를 따라 아브라함은 온 세상을 바라봤고, 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 온 세상을 주셨습니다. 당신도 아브라함처럼 자신의 영으로 바라보는 연습을 해야 합니다. 앉아서 영적인 시각을 활용해서 바라보는 시간을 가져야 합니다.
당신이 그때 보는 것이 당신이 소유하는 것입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “하나님이 말씀하시기를 말세에 내가 내 영을 모든 육체에 부어 주리니… 너희의 젊은이들은 환상을 보고…”(행 2:17) 청년들이 환상을 보게 될 것이라고 말한 부분에 주목하십시오. 당신은 지금 어떤 환상을 보고 있습니까? 당신의 믿음의 눈에는 어떤 그림이 보입니까?
바르지 않은 그림이 보인다면 털어버리십시오. 두려움, 죽음, 아픔, 실패, 거절의 그림이 보인다면 그 그림을 거절하십시오! 그리고 당신의 마음을 바꾸십시오. 생각을 바꾸십시오. 생각나는 말을 바꾸십시오. 당신을 재조정하십시오. 초점을 바꾸고 다시 보십시오. 그러면 바른 그림이 보일 것입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내가 가야 할 길로 나를 인도하시고, 아버지의 말씀을 통해 바른 그림을 보고 그것을 실제화하도록 인도하시는 성령님께 감사드립니다. 나는 나를 둘러싼 아버지의 영광과 선하심을 봅니다. 나는 오늘 아버지의 은혜와 축복의 충만함 가운데 삽니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

SEE THE RIGHT PICTURES
“And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness” (Genesis 15:5-6).
In our opening scripture, God was giving Abraham a very important training on how to see with the eyes of faith. The Lord had said to him, “…I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2).
But Abraham didn’t quite “see” how that was going to happen; so, he argued with the Lord and said, “Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?” (Genesis 15:2).
The Lord however brought him out at night and told him to count the stars in the sky. Of course, they were too many. While still trying to count, God said to him, “So shall thy seed be.” He believed, and that was the moment he got it. God trained him to use his spiritual sense of sight. It was something spiritual. It means looking beyond your thinking, your mind and your environment; seeing with the eyes of faith.
On another occasion, after Lot separated from him, God said to him, “Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever” (Genesis 13:14-15).
By this time, Abraham had understood how to use his spiritual sense of sight. Upon God’s instruction, he looked and saw the whole world, and God gave it to him. Just like Abraham, you have to practice seeing with your spirit. You have to have times when you just sit down and use your spiritual sight.
What you see in those moments is what you get. The Bible says, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh … and your young men shall see visions…” (Acts 2:17). Notice he says the young men shall see visions; what visions are you seeing even now? What pictures are being captured by your eyes of faith?
If it’s the wrong picture, shake it off. If you see pictures of fear, death, sickness, or failure, reject them! And then change your mind; change your thoughts; change the words that are coming to you. Realign yourself; refocus and look again; the right pictures will come.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for your Spirit who leads me in the way I should go and guides me through your Word to see the right pictures and bring them into reality. I see your glory and goodness all around me, and I walk in the fullness of your grace and blessings today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
