Express Love – Especially In Your Words

“우리가 다 실수가 많으니 만일 말에 실수가 없는 자라면 곧 온전한 사람이라 능히 온 몸도 굴레 씌우리라”(약 3:2)

오늘의 본문 구절은 우리에게 온전한 그리스도인 혹은 그리스도 안에서의 성숙함에 대해 말해주며, 그것을 어떻게 측정하는지도 알려줍니다. 야고보는 “만일 말에 실수가 없는 자라면 곧 온전한 사람이라”이라고 말합니다. 예수님께서는 “네 말로 의롭다 함을 받고 네 말로 정죄함을 받으리라”(마 12:37)고 말씀하셨습니다. 그분은 말의 중요성을 높이 평가하셨습니다.

다르게 말하면, 당신이 천국에 가는 것과 지옥에 가는 것이 당신이 하는 말에 달려있습니다. 당신의 생명이 말로 말미암았으므로, 당신의 삶 또한 언제나 말에 의존합니다. 어떤 사람들은 이것을 이해하지 못하기 때문에, 특히 화가 나거나 기분이 좋지 않을 때 모독하는 말과 악의적인 말을 사용하여 부주의하게 말합니다.

고백

EXPRESS LOVE?ESPECIALLY IN YOUR WORDS

For in many things we offend all.

If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body (James 3:2).

The verse above tells us about Christian perfection or maturity in Christ and how to measure it. He says, “If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man….” Jesus said, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Matthew 12:37). He put the premium on words.

In other words, whether you go to heaven or you go to hell would depend on the words you speak. Your life came by words, and so, it’ll always be dependent on words. Some people don’t understand this, so they speak carelessly, using profane and derogatory words, especially when they’re angry or unhappy.

Don’t pride yourself in your ability to subdue others with ugly words that damage their self-esteem.

It may be someone who’s confided in you about something, but now there’s an issue; don’t see it as an opportunity to “expose” him or her. Think about the the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life: even though He knows everything about you, He never accuses or denigrates you before anyone. He loves and protects you always.

Jesus is that way too. He knew all men and knew everything about everybody, but He related to them in love. Even as He ministered to some of those who rejected His message, He said, “I judge you not” (John 12:47). How gracious He is! That’s the example He gives us to follow. If He never accuses you, if He doesn’t condemn you, if He doesn’t berate you with disparaging words, why do you think it would be proper to do that to your brothers and sisters? Express love only, especially in your words.

CONFESSION

I give vent only to gracious and love-filled words; I continually fill my heart with the Word of God, and out of that abundance, I speak, expressing His love in words, edifying and impacting my hearers with His divine presence, power and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Prosperity By Grace

번영은 당신이 얼마나 금식을 하고 기도를 하느냐와 관련이 없습니다. 번영케 하는 것은 주님이 하시는 일입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “건축자가 버린 돌이 집 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되었나니 이는 여호와께서 행하신 것이요 우리 눈에 기이한 바로다”(시 118:22-23). 하나님이 당신을 부요하게 하시는 분입니다. 그분은 당신의 번영을 기뻐하십니다(시 35:27).

당신은 하나님이 당신의 번영을 원하시는지 질문할 필요가 없습니다. 그분은 당신이 인간의 계산법을 신뢰하는 것을 원하지 않으십니다. 번영은 그렇게 이루어지지 않습니다. 어느 기간 동안은 그렇게 하는 것이 잘 되어가는 것처럼 보이겠지만 그것은 오래가지 않습니다. 참되고 영원한 번영은 오직 은혜로만 주어집니다.

예수님이 그때 둘러 보시고 제자들에게 말씀하셨습니다. “재물이 있는 자는 하나님의 나라에 들어가기가 심히 어렵도다!”(막 10:23) 예수님은 그들이 구원은 그들의 돈이나 많은 소유에 있는 것이 아니라 하나님의 영에 의한 것임을 이해하도록 하셨습니다. 예수님은 그 부자 청년이 그의 신뢰를 그의 재물이 아니라, 재물을 주시는 분이신 하나님께 두길 바라셨습니다.

오늘 본문 구절은 말합니다. “네 하나님 여호와를 기억하라 그가 네게 재물 얻을 능력을 주셨음이라…” 당신의 번영은 어떤 사람이나 당신의 사업, 이 세상의 시스템, 정부, 경제에 달려있지 않고, 하나님께 달려있습니다. 번영은 하나님의 은혜에 의한 것입니다.

고백

PROSPERITY BY GRACE

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth…

(Deuteronomy 8:18).

Prosperity has nothing to do with how hard you fast and pray; it’s the Lord’s doing. God is the One who prospers you. He delights in your prosperity (Psalm 35:27). You don’t have to wonder whether or not God wants you to prosper. He doesn’t want you to put your trust in step-by-step human calculations, because that won’t work. They may seem to work for some time, but they won’t last. True and lasting prosperity comes by grace.

A story is told in Mark 10, of a rich young ruler’s attitude to wealth. He wanted to know what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him to obey all the commandments; but he said, “Master, all these have I observed from my youth.” The Bible says Jesus looked at him with love, and said to him, “Go and sell all that you have, and give it to the poor, and come and follow me” (Mark 10:21). At that, the rich young ruler went away sad. He was tied to his possessions, for the Bible says he had great possessions; or as someone rightly put it: “his great possessions had him.”

Jesus then looked round about and said to His disciples, “…How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!” (Mark 10:23). Jesus was letting them understand that salvation wasn’t going to be by their money, or great possessions, but by the Spirit of God. Jesus wanted the rich young man to put his trust, not in his wealth, but in God, the giver of wealth.

Your prosperity isn’t dependent on any man, your business, the systems and governments of this world, or the economy, but on God. It’s by His grace. Now you can understand why He says in 2 Corinthians 9:8:

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” The power that God gives His children to get wealth is spiritual power, not political power or economic power. It’s the power He gives every Christian to propagate God’s righteous course. Praise God!

CONFESSION

My purpose in life is to establish God’s righteousness in the earth and in the hearts of men around the world. And I’m blessed with all I require to carry this out. Therefore, I’m committed to advancing God’s agenda, favouring His righteous course with my time and resources, for His glory. Amen.

Be Unapologetic About The Gospel

오늘날 세상에서 일어나고 있는 몇몇 일들을 분석하다 보면, 저는 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고의 헌신이 떠오릅니다. 그들은 왕에게 “우리는 당신의 금 신상에 절하지 않을 것입니다.”라고 말했습니다. 그리하여 왕은 화가 나서 그들을 불타는 풀무불에 던져 넣을 것이라고 협박했습니다. 그러나 그들은 담대하게 이렇게 답했습니다. “우리의 하나님은 우리를 당신의 불에서부터 건져 내실 수 있습니다. 그러나 하나님이 그러지 않으신다 하더라도, 우리는 절하지 않을 것입니다.”(다니엘서 3장을 읽어보십시오.)

그들은 하나님이 그들을 구출하실 것을 기대했기 때문에 왕의 신상 앞에 절하기를 거절한 것이 아닙니다. 그들이 불에서 건져지던 말던 그들은 상관이 없었습니다. 그들은 하나님이 참되고 유일한 신(God)이라는 것을 알았고, 주님을 향한 헌신 때문에 그들의 믿음을 지켰습니다. 그래서 그들은 협박에도 불구하고 움직이지 않은 것입니다. 얼마나 엄청난 확신입니까!

다니엘의 상황도 비슷했습니다. 30일 동안 어떠한 신에게도 기도하지 말고 오직 왕에게만 기도하라는 칙령이 내려왔습니다. 그러나 다니엘은 계속하여 기도했습니다. 성경은 그가 기도를 금한다는 칙령이 공포가 되었다는 소식을 듣고도 언제나 그랬듯 다시 기도했다고 말합니다. 그의 상관들이 자신을 감시하고 있음을 알았음에도 불구하고 말입니다(단 6:6-10).

왕의 불쾌한 명령에 순종하기를 거절하므로 다니엘은 사자 굴에 던져졌습니다. 다니엘이 사자 굴에서 구출되기를 기도했다는 기록은 없습니다. 오히려 그는 하나님에 대한 그의 믿음을 부정하느니 차라리 사자에 먹힐 준비가 되어 있었습니다. 이들은 우리에게 본보기가 됩니다.

오늘날 우리의 상황도 이와 다르지 않습니다. 하나님께서 말씀하신 것과 다른 이들이 말하는 것 중 하나를 택해야 할 때, 이는 어려운 선택이 아닙니다. 우리가 가는 길을 하나뿐입니다. 바로 예수님입니다. 우리는 주 예수 그리스도를 섬깁니다. 복음의 부르심에 있어서, 우리는 살든지 죽든지 주님의 것입니다! 할렐루야!

이것이 바로 바울이 오늘 본문 구절에서 한 말입니다. 그리스도와 복음의 메시지에 관한 당신의 확신을 표현하는데 있어서 절대로 미안해하거나, 움츠러들거나, 주저하지 마십시오. 우리는 준비되어 있어야 합니다. 우리는 모든 것을 바치고 구출을 바라지 않던 자들의 후예입니다. 그들은 구출이 아니라, 더 나은 부활, 즉 승리의 부활을 바랬습니다.

어떤 일이 닥치든지 의연하십시오. 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 믿음에 대해 담대해 지십시오. 복음의 진리에 대해 확신하며 흔들리지 말고, 이를 담대하게 가르치십시오.

BE UNAPOLOGETIC ABOUT THE GOSPEL

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord…

(Philippians 3:8).

When I analyze some of the things going on in the world today, I remember the commitment of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

They said to the king, “We will not bow to your image of gold.” And the king got angry and threatened to throw them into a burning fiery furnace. But they responded boldly, “Our God is able to deliver us from your fire; but if He doesn’t, we still won’t bow” (Read Daniel 3).

They weren’t refusing to bow to the king’s image because they expected that God would deliver them.

It didn’t matter to them whether or not they’d be delivered from the fire. They were standing their ground because of their commitment to the Lord, recognizing that He’s the only true God. Thus, in spite of the intimidation, they wouldn’t budge! What a conviction!

It was a similar case with Daniel. There had been a decree against prayer to any God but the king for thirty days. But Daniel continued in prayer; the Bible says when he found out a decree had been passed to outlaw prayer, he prayed again as he always did, knowing that the supervisors were watching (Daniel 6:6-10). For refusing to yield to the obnoxious decree by the King, Daniel was thrown into the Lion’s den.

There’s no record that Daniel prayed to be delivered from the lion’s den; he was rather ready to be eaten up by lions than deny his faith in God. These are set for us as examples. Our situation today isn’t any different. When it comes to what God has said versus what anyone else is saying, it’s not a difficult choice;

there’s just one way we go?Jesus only! We serve the Lord Christ. When it comes to the call of the Gospel, live or die, we’re the Lord’s! Hallelujah!

Never find yourself apologetic, intimidated or reluctant to express your convictions about Christ and the message of the Gospel. We’ve got to be ready.

We’re from a lineage of those who gave everything and requested no deliverance; they wanted a better resurrection, a victorious one. Come what may, be undaunted; be bold about your faith in Jesus Christ. Be convinced and compelled by the truth of the Gospel and preach it boldly.

CONFESSION

I’m convinced and compelled by the truth of the Gospel; and I refuse to be afraid of persecution for proclaiming Christ Jesus. Nothing in this world can daunt my love for Christ and passion for the Gospel.

I preach it boldly everywhere, and He’s with me and in me, confirming His Word, with signs following.

오늘날, 지도자들을 포함한 많은 사람들이 교회의 목적과 사명을 잊고 살아갑니다. 그들은 업무에 휩쓸려 목표를 잊어버립니다. 이것은 마치 여정을 떠났지만 도착지를 잊어버리는 것과 같습니다. 그들은 여정 중에 볼거리와 즐거움과 많은 방해 요소들과 오락거리에 매료되어버립니다.

당신은 왜 사십니까? 당신의 목적은 무엇입니까? 고린도후서 1:8-9에서 사도 바울은 말합니다. “형제들아 우리가 아시아에서 당한 환난을 너희가 모르기를 원하지 아니하노니 힘에 겹도록 심한 고난을 당하여 살 소망까지 끊어지고 우리는 우리 자신이 사형 선고를 받은 줄 알았으니 이는 우리로 자기를 의지하지 말고 오직 죽은 자를 다시 살리시는 하나님만 의지하게 하심이라.” 당신이 자신의 사명을 이해하게 될 때 비로소 우리가 방금 읽은 구절에서 보았던 태도와 마음가짐을 가질 수 있게 됩니다.

사명 의식이 없다면, 당신은 여정을 즐기고는 있지만 아무 곳으로도 가지 않고 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 당신은 하나님이 주신 목적, 즉 목적지가 있는 사람처럼 살아야 합니다. 그럴 때, 이 세상의 어떠한 것도 당신을 흔들 수 없습니다. 이 땅의 것들이 당신에게 아무 가치가 없어질 것입니다. 당신의 마음이 당신의 목적과 사명에 맞춰졌기 때문입니다.

예수님도 마찬가지로 그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하셨습니다(히 12:2). 사람들이 그분의 머리에 가시관을 씌우고 피를 흘리시는 것과 못 박히심으로 인한 극심한 고통은 그분께 중요하지 않았습니다. 그분은 모든 것을 견디셨습니다.

당신의 삶에서 어떠한 도전을 대면하고 있던지 상관없습니다. 목적지에 집중하십시오. 목적지를 향한 여정 가운데 일어나는 일들로 당신의 경주가 방해를 받지 않게 하십시오. 바울은 사도행전 20:22-24을 통해 자신의 결의를 보여주었습니다. “보라 이제 나는 성령에 매여 예루살렘으로 가는데 거기서 무슨 일을 당할는지 알지 못하노라 오직 성령이 각 성에서 내게 증언하여 결박과 환난이 나를 기다린다 하시나 내가 달려갈 길과 주 예수께 받은 사명 곧 하나님의 은혜의 복음을 증언하는 일을 마치려 함에는 나의 생명조차 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라.”

고백

나는 상황이나 경험이나 역경에 의해 방해받기를 거절합니다. 나의 초점은 그리스도와 그분의 말씀과 나의 삶을 향한 그분의 목적에 있습니다. 나는 하나님의 계획에 대해 열정을 가지고 있으며, 나의 마음은 그분의 뜻을 행하기 위해 계속해서 그분을 의지합니다. 나는 이 세상 너머를 바라보며, 나는 주 안에서 어느 때보다 강합니다. 아멘.

FOCUS ON THE MISSION

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2).

There’re many today, including leaders, who have forgotten the purpose and mission of the Church. They’re carried away by the work, so much so they’ve forgotten the objective. It’s like being on a journey but forgetting the destination; they’re carried away by the sights and pleasures, the many distractions and attractions on the way.

Why do you live? What’s your purpose? In 2 Corinthians 1:8-9, the Apostle Paul said, “For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead.” It’s only when you understand your mission that you can have an attitude and mindset as the one we see in the verses we just read.

Without a consciousness of the mission, you may be enjoying the journey, but you’re going nowhere.

Therefore, you must live as one who has a destination, a God-given purpose. That way, nothing in this earth can shake you; the things of this earth will have no value to you, because your mind is on your purpose and on your mission.

It was so with Jesus, who “…for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame…” (Hebrews 12:2). It didn’t matter that they put a crown of thorns on His head with blood dripping from Him, and the excruciating pains from those nails;

He endured it all.

It doesn’t matter what challenges you’re facing in your life; focus on the destination. Don’t let the things that happen along the way distract you from finishing your course. Paul demonstrated his resolve as stated in Acts 20:22-24: “And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”

CONFESSION

I refuse to be distracted by circumstances, experiences, or adversity. My focus is on Christ, His Word and His purpose for my life. I have a passion for God’s agenda, with my heart continually set on Him to do His will. I look beyond this world, and I’m ever strong in the Lord. Amen.

CONSCIOUSLY STAY IN THE WORD

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3).

To see your life go from grace to grace, make giant leaps of faith, and experience the uplifting power of God, you have to make certain decisions. The first is to surround yourself with the right information, and that can only be gotten from God’s Word.

If you’re not giving yourself to God’s Word as you should, there’ll be other information that’ll come to you, albeit, negative, to keep you from living a life of victory. Make a conscious decision to study and meditate on the Word; let the Word of God dwell in you richly. Discipline yourself to keep listening to the Word of God, day in, day out.

You might say, “It’s a busy world; how do I create the time to consistently listen to, or study the Word?”

While you are dressing up in the morning getting ready for work, or even while you’re on the go, listen to a message on your device. This is one sure way to constantly bombard your mind with the Word of God so that your faith will keep growing to meet the challenges and the crises of life in the present hour.

If you stay in the word, your faith will be strong.

Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Perhaps you commute long distance to work every day; maximize those times. If you’re on the bus or train, put your earplugs on; shut the world out and listen to God. If you aren’t driving, get out any of our books, be it in print or digital format and study; inundate your mind with thoughts from God’s Word.

Your spirit has ears that are different from your physical ears; so, don’t stop listening to the Word.

When the crises of life come, your faith will prevail;

you’ll always win. Listen to, and study these materials, not just once but consistently, until the message gets into your spirit and stays. That’s what will produce the results you desire.

Dear heavenly Father, I give you thanks for the opportunity to be blessed by your precious Word today. I consciously stay on your Word through study and meditation: thus, my faith stands strong and victorious in the day of adversity, in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.

BE PLEASED ABOUT TODAY

[And it is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain (1 Timothy 6:6 AMPC).

It’s so inspiring to know that as a child of God, you can win and have a glorious life, every day; a life that you can be happy about, every day. A key factor for enjoying your life is learning to enjoy the process of growth; learning to recognise and be satisfied with your present accomplishments as you aspire to greater heights.

Some people are never satisfied with their lives.

They carry an air of sadness and discontent all the time.

This attitude worsens their situation, so they never really know what it means to be truly joyful. True joy is in fulfilling your God-given purpose?being in God’s place, at God’s time, for God’s purpose in God’s way.

Nothing could be more fulfilling than that.

Forget the missteps of yesterday. Don’t be bothered about tomorrow. Enjoy today. The regrets of yesterday and apprehensions about tomorrow are enemies of today’s happiness. If you aren’t satisfied about today, tomorrow’s dreams may never materialise.

Being satisfied about today doesn’t mean shelving your dreams for a greater tomorrow; it just underscores your hopefulness, preparation, anticipation and excitement for a more rewarding future. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for being my joy and fulfilment. I delight in who I am, and all you’ve accomplished in, and through me in Christ Jesus. I live victoriously today, conscious and thankful that you perfect all that concerns me; thus, I continually maintain a joyful spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

VESTED WITH ALL POWER

And there was war in heaven:

Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven (Revelation 12:7-8).

The Bible tells us that after the Rapture, there’ll be a war in heaven. Satan and his demons will fight to retain their place in the heavenlies but Michael and his angels will prevail over them, and Satan will be cast out into the earth, meaning that he’ll have no place anymore in the heavenlies.

Someone might be wondering, “Does that mean Satan currently has a place in the heavenlies?” The Bible says he does: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

Ephesians 2:2 also says, “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.” Oftentimes, when there’s chaos, anarchy and turmoil in a society, many don’t realize that the devil is behind such things.

From his place in the atmospheric realms, Satan runs families, cities, kingdoms, and nations, determining a lot of things that happen in them. He’s only restrained?his efforts, operations and manoeuvres are only thwarted by the prayers of the saints of God.

When we pray, God’s mercy is released and angels are dispatched upon our request and according to His will.

This is why you can’t afford to sit idly by or be complacent while the devil runs rampage in your family, business, city, or nation. You need to learn how to pray and pray the right way. You need to learn how to use the Name of Jesus and stand against the demonic powers that lure men into destruction and foment trouble in the nations of the world and around you.

We’ve been vested with all power and authority in heaven and in the earth to subdue, dominate and decimate satanic powers, their activities, and take charge of our world. We have the power to frustrate the devil and keep him under our feet. We’re not helpless at all. You have the authority to determine what happens in your life, in the lives of your loved ones, in your nation, and around the world by using the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER

I speak in the authority of Jesus, and declare that God’s will, plans and purposes for the Church, and the nations of the world are established; His righteousness rules in men’s hearts and in the nations, because all souls and every nation belong to Jesus Christ! God’s Kingdom is established in the earth, and in the hearts of men, as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Lamb Of God

“내가 또 보니 보좌와 네 생물과 장로들 사이에 어린 양이 섰는데 일찍 죽임을 당한 것 같더라…”(계 5:6)

우리가 천국에 가면, 우리는 아버지와 아들과 성령이 각각 다른 보좌에 앉아있는 것을 보지 않을 것입니다. 우리는 하나님의 충만함 안에서 보좌에 앉아 계신 한 분을 볼 것인데, 그분은 바로 예수님이십니다. 그분은 신성이 겉으로 표현된 분이십니다.

골로새서 2:9은 “그 안에는 신성의 모든 충만이 육체로 거하시고”라고 말합니다. 그러나 누군가는 오늘 본문 구절을 보고 이렇게 질문할 수 있습니다. 예수님께서 보좌에 앉아 계시다면, 보좌 가운데 서 있는 어린양은 누구인가요?

마찬가지로 그분의 겸손과 순종을 강조한 선지자 이사야의 말을 기억하십시오. “그가 곤욕을 당하여 괴로울 때에도 그의 입을 열지 아니하였음이여 마치 도수장으로 끌려 가는 어린 양과 털 깎는 자 앞에 잠잠한 양 같이 그의 입을 열지 아니하였도다”(사 53:7).

예수님은 창세 이후 모든 인류의 죄를 위하여 죽임 당한 어린양이십니다(계 13:8). 침례 요한은 요한복음 1:29에서 그분을 하나님의 어린양이라고 불렀고, 베드로도 그의 서신 베드로전서 1:19에서 같은 것을 말했습니다. 이제 하나님께서는 우리를 하늘의 영역에서 그분과 함께 보좌에 앉히셨습니다. 우리는 예수님과 함께 보좌에 앉아있고(엡 2:6), 우리를 통해 그분은 그 은혜의 지극히 풍성함과 영광과 능력을 나타내십니다. 그분의 이름을 영원히 송축합니다!

기도

THE LAMB OF GOD

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain… (Revelation 5:6).

When we get to heaven, we won’t find the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit sitting on different thrones; we’ll only find One seated in the fullness of God on the throne, whose Name is Jesus.

He’s the lamb at the centre of the throne (Revelation 7:17). He’s the outward expression of the Godhead.

Colossians 2:9 says, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” However, looking at our opening verse, one could ask: if Jesus is seated on the throne, who then is the Lamb that stood in the midst of the throne?

In studying the Book of Revelation, you have to understand that prophetic visions and revelations are often given and communicated with symbolisms. This was no different with John the writer of this book. The Lamb here was symbolic.

John didn’t say he saw a man, but a Lamb, which typifies Jesus Christ. This was symbolic of the Father’s relationship with Jesus; it was characteristic of Jesus’ attitude and humility. We learn more about His humility in Philippians 2:6-9: “Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained…He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!

Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name” (AMPC).

Remember the words of the Prophet Isaiah, which also highlights His humility and obedience: “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth” (Isaiah 53:7).

Jesus is the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8) for the sins of all men.

John the Baptist called Him the Lamb of God in John 1:29, and Peter in his epistle says the same in 1 Peter 1:19. Now, God has enthroned us with Him in the heavenly realms. We’re seated with Him (Ephesians 2:6), and through us, He demonstrates the exceeding riches of His grace, glory and power. Blessed be His Name forever!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you, for the Lord Jesus paid the ultimate price for sin, which man had incurred without a means of settlement. Now, through the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, sacrificed for us, I’ve been set at liberty to live the triumphant and victorious life in Christ, enthroned with Him in the heavenly realms, and seated with Him in a place of power, authority and dominion. Hallelujah!

He’s The Lord That Crowns

“내가 이에 보니 흰 말이 있는데 그 탄 자가 활을 가졌고 면류관을 받고 나가서 이기고 또 이기려고 하더라”(계 6:2)

어느 날 기도하던 중에 저는 아래와 같은 가사의 찬양을 흥얼거렸습니다. “주 예수 이름 높여 다 찬양하여라. 금 면류관을 가져와 만유의 주께 드리세.” 갑자기, 주님께서 저를 멈추게 하시고는 말씀하셨습니다. “만유의 주께 면류관을 드린다고? 너는 그것을 할 수 없다.”

어떤 이들은 오늘의 본문 구절에서 말을 탄 자가 예수님이라고 생각하지만, 그렇지 않습니다. 첫째로, 본문 구절은 말을 탄 자가 활을 가지고 있다고 했습니다. 예수님은 한번도 활을 사용하신 적이 없습니다. 오히려 성경은 예수님이 검을 가지고 있다고 말합니다(계 2:12). 또한 이 구절은 “…면류관을 받고…”라고 말합니다. 예수님께는 왕관이 주어지지 않았습니다. 그분은 만왕의 왕이시기 때문입니다. 그러므로, 여기서 “…나가서 이기고 또 이기려고 하더라”고 설명된 자는 예수님이 아니라 적그리스도입니다.

예수님은 오직 그분이 재림하실 때에 나라들과 전쟁을 하실 것입니다. 그때가 예수님께서 흰 말을 타고 공의로 나라들을 심판하실 때입니다. 요한계시록 19:11-12은 말합니다. “또 내가 하늘이 열린 것을 보니 보라 백마와 그것을 탄 자가 있으니 그 이름은 충신과 진실이라 그가 공의로 심판하며 싸우더라. 그 눈이 불꽃 같고 그 머리에 많은 면류관이 있고 또 이름 쓴 것이 하나가 있으니 자기 밖에 아는 자가 없고” 이 구절에서 하나의 면류관이 그분께 주어지지 않았음을 주목하십시오. 오히려, 그분은 많은 면류관을 가지고 계셨으며, 그분은 면류관을 주시는 분입니다(약 1:12, 벧전 5:4).

예수님이 진정으로 어떠한 분이신지 알고, 그분을 경배할 때 올바른 찬양을 부르는 것이 중요합니다. 예수님은 이러한 분이십니다. “…하나님은 복되시고 유일하신 주권자이시며 만왕의 왕이시며 만주의 주시요 오직 그에게만 죽지 아니함이 있고 가까이 가지 못할 빛에 거하시고 어떤 사람도 보지 못하였고 또 볼 수 없는 이시니 그에게 존귀와 영원한 권능을 돌릴지어다 아멘”(딤전 6:15-16).

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 저의 심령이 당신의 말씀을 따라 영과 진리로 당신을 경배하기 위해 밝혀졌습니다. 내가 시와 찬미와 신령한 노래로 당신의 말씀을 선포하고, 나의 심령으로 당신께 노래할 때, 나는 나의 가정과 가족과 사역에 감사의 분위기를 세웁니다. 내 삶에서 일어나는 성령의 사역에 감사드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HE’S THE LORD THAT CROWNS

And I saw, and behold a white horse:

and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer (Revelation 6:2).

One day while in prayer, I was singing a hymn that went thus: “All hail the power of Jesus name, let angels prostrate fall; bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all.” Suddenly, the Lord stopped me and said, “Crown Him Lord of all?

You can’t do it.”

For the first time, I thought about it and realized that no man can crown Him; not even the whole world could. With what will they crown Him? We don’t have a good enough crown to put on Him, neither do we have any authority to bestow on Him. More so, you can’t crown the One who has all authority. All power is His.

It explains why some Bible scholars have difficulties understanding certain portions of Scripture such as Revelation 6:2. It says, “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow;

and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

Some think the horse rider in the verse above is Jesus, but He’s not. First, it says the rider had a bow.

Jesus never uses a bow; the Bible however says He (Jesus) has a sword (Revelation 2:12). In Revelation 6:2, we read that “…a crown was given unto him….”

But a crown wasn’t given to Jesus; He’s the King of kings. The description: “…he went forth conquering and to conquer” isn’t of Jesus, but of the Antichrist.

Jesus will only battle the nations at His second coming. That’s when He’ll ride on a white horse and judge the nations in righteousness. Revelation 19:11-12 says, “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.” Notice that a crown wasn’t given to Him; rather, He has many crowns, and He gives crowns (James 1:12; 1 Peter 5:4).

It’s important to know who Jesus really is, and to sing the right songs to worship Him. He is “…the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen” (1 Timothy 6:15-16).

PRAYER

Dear Father, my heart is enlightened to worship you according to your Word?in Spirit and in truth. As I proclaim your Word in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, and make melody in my heart to you, I set up an atmosphere of thanksgiving and the miraculous.

Thank you for the ministry of the Spirit in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Our Prayers As Incense

“그 두루마리를 취하시매 네 생물과 이십사 장로들이 그 어린 양 앞에 엎드려 각각 거문고와 향이 가득한 금 대접을 가졌으니 이 향은 성도의 기도들이라”(계 5:8)

구약에서 주님은 아침과 저녁으로 장막에서 향을 피우라고 제사장에게 지시하셨습니다. 그들은 또한 아침과 저녁으로 제물을 드렸습니다. 그러나 성경은 율법이 장차 다가올 일의 그림자라고 말합니다(히 10:1). 하나님은 더 좋고 영적인 것을 원하셨습니다.

여러 해가 지나고, 사도 요한은 성령에 감동되어 하늘의 영적 세계를 보며 다음과 같은 놀라운 진리를 드러냈습니다. “…향이 가득한 금 대접을 가졌으니 이 향은 성도의 기도들이라.” 하나님을 송축합니다! 우리가 이 땅에서 기도할 때, 그것은 주님 앞에 향으로 나타납니다. 다윗 왕은 이에 대한 계시가 있었습니다. 주님께서는 우리의 기도가 실제로 하나님 앞에 분향함과 같다는 것을 그가 이해하도록 도우셨습니다. 그래서 그는 시편 141:2에서 이렇게 말했습니다. “나의 기도가 주의 앞에 분향함과 같이 되며 나의 손 드는 것이 저녁 제사 같이 되게 하소서.”

하나님의 성도인 우리는 기도의 사역을 맡고 있습니다. 죄인들이 구원받을 수 있도록 그들을 위해 기도하는 것은 우리의 책임입니다. 우리 각자는 모두 주님을 섬기는 가장 중요한 사역인 경배의 사역을 가지고 있습니다. 이 중보와 경배의 기도는 아버지 앞에 드리는 향입니다.

사랑하는 아버지, 그리스도를 통하여 나는 당신의 이름을 인정하고 고백하며 영화롭게 하는 나의 입술의 열매로 찬양의 제사를 올려드립니다. 이것은 나의 경배와 중보의 기도입니다. 당신은 거룩하신 분이며, 유일한 통치자이시며, 만왕의 왕이시며 만주의 주이십니다. 당신은 영원무궁토록 모든 찬양과 흠모를 받기에 합당하십니다. 아멘.

OUR PRAYERS AS INCENSE

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints (Revelation 5:8).

In the Old Testament, the Lord gave instructions to the priests to burn incense morning and evening in the Tabernacle. They were also to offer sacrifices in the morning and in the evening. Yet, the Bible says all that was a shadow of things to come (Hebrews 10:1). God wanted something better and spiritual.

Many years later, the Apostle John, by the Spirit, sees into the heavens and is shown this amazing truth:

“…golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints” (Revelation 5:8). Blessed be God! When we pray in the earth, it comes before the Lord as incense.

King David had a revelation of this; the Lord had guided him to understand that our prayers are actually set before God as incense. So he said in Psalm 141:2, “Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.”

The kind of prayer referred to is one of worship and intercession. In worship, we offer sacrifices of praise to the Lord with the fruit of our lips?words of praise and thanksgiving (Hebrews 13:15). Our intercessory prayers go up to God, thwarting the plans of the enemy and changing things in the heavenly realm. This is such a heavenly ministry!

Think about it: As we pray, we send incense;

fragrance of a sweet smell?a sacrifice acceptable and well-pleasing to God?resulting in positive changes in the earth! That’s why you should always pray. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 says, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority….” As saints of God, we have a ministry of prayer. It’s our responsibility to pray for sinners that they may receive salvation. Each one of us has a primary ministry of worship, which is ministering to the Lord. These prayers of intercession and worship are the incense before the Father.

PRAYER

Dear Father, through Christ, I offer up to you sacrifices of praise?prayers of worship and intercession?the fruit of my lips that thankfully acknowledge, confess and glorify your Name. You’re the Holy and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords. You’re worthy of all praise and adoration, forever and ever.

Amen.
