눈처럼 하얗게
As White As Snow
“여호와께서 말씀하시되 오라 우리가 서로 변론하자 너희의 죄가 주홍 같을지라도 눈과 같이 희어질 것이요 진홍 같이 붉을지라도 양털 같이 희게 되리라”(사 1:18)
주 예수님은 신성한 분이시고 죄가 없으셨지만, 세상의 죄를 위해 드려진 희생제물이 되셨습니다. 그분은 십자가에서 우리의 죄를 대신하여 우리가 그분의 의의 위치를 차지할 수 있게 하셨습니다(고후 5:21).
예수님이 행하신 일의 결과로 우리는 아버지 앞에서 거룩하고 책망할 것이 없는 자들이 되었습니다. 우리는 어떠한 열등감이나 정죄감 없이 담대하게 하나님의 임재 앞에 설 수 있습니다. 하나님께는 당신을 대적할 이유가 전혀 없습니다. 하나님께 당신은 예수님만큼 완전합니다. 당신의 의는 예수 그리스도의 의이기 때문입니다.
이것을 한번 상상해보십시오. 어느 멋진 왕자가 당신을 연회에 초청하였습니다. 그런데 당신이 누더기를 걸친 채 더럽고 냄새나는 상태로 그곳에 갔습니다. 당신은 자신의 지저분한 모습으로 인해 그 왕자나 다른 손님들 근처에 가고 싶지 않음에도, 그는 따뜻한 미소를 지으며 당신에게 안으로 들어오라고 초청하고 문을 열어줍니다.
그는 당신의 주저함을 알아차리고 연회장에 있는 다른 사람들에게 당신을 소개할 수 있도록 더 들어올 것을 간청합니다. 그러나 당신은 실의에 빠진 표정으로 그의 초청을 거절합니다. 그러자 왕자는 이렇게 말합니다. “당신이 어떤 기분인지 압니다. 그렇지만 나는 당신을 부끄럽게 만들지 않을 겁니다. 나를 믿어줄 수 있습니까?” 당신은 그의 말을 믿고 안으로 들어갑니다. 그러나 여전히 당신은 깨끗하고 흠 없는 사람들과 어울리는 자기 자신을 상상할 수 없습니다.
왕자는 당신의 생각을 알고는 다시 말합니다. “이제 나를 믿고 다시 한번 스스로를 바라보세요!” 왕자가 시킨 대로 자신을 바라볼 때, 당신은 갑자기 왕자와 그 연회장에 있는 다른 모든 사람들처럼 위엄 있고 티 없이 깨끗하게 됩니다. 이것은 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 당신의 의와 비슷합니다. 성경은 말합니다. “그러므로 우리가 믿음으로 의롭다 하심을 받았으니 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님과 화평을 누리자”(롬 5:1). 하나님께 영광 드립니다!
그분이 고린도전서 6:11에서 당신이 주 예수의 이름과 우리 하나님의 영으로 씻음을 받았고 거룩하게 되었으며 의롭게 되었다고 말씀하신 것은 놀라운 일이 아닙니다. 이제 그분은 다른 사람들을 이런 놀라운 의의 삶으로 인도하셔서, 당신이 그분 안에서 소유한 것과 같은 평안과 영광을 그들이 경험할 수 있도록 당신을 그분의 파트너로 삼으셨습니다. 할렐루야! 이것을 혼자만 알고 있지 마십시오.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내 안에 있는 당신의 의로 인해 감사드립니다. 그 의는 내 안에서 항상 바르게 살며 당신의 뜻을 수행하는 능력을 만들어냅니다. 나는 의의 열매를 맺고, 의의 일을 하며, 세상에 당신의 선하심을 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

AS WHITE AS SNOW
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool (Isaiah 1:18).
The Lord Jesus was divine and without sin; yet, He became the sin-sacrifice, offered up for the sin of the world. He took our place of sin on the Cross, so that we might take His place of righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
As a result of what Jesus did, we’re declared holy and without blame before the Father. We can boldly stand in the presence of God without guilt, inferiority or condemnation. The truth is that God holds nothing against you. To Him, you’re as perfect as Jesus is, because your righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Picture it this way: An amazing prince beckons on you to attend his banquet. Whereas you’re wearing rags?dirty and smelly and wouldn’t want to come close to him or his guests because of your filthy looks?with a warm smile, he signals that you come in and flings open the banquet door.
Noticing your reluctance, he entreats further that you come in so he could introduce you to the others in the hall. But with a look of dejection, you refuse the invitation. Finally, the prince says, “I know how you feel; I’ll not make you ashamed. Can you trust me?”
Then, you trust his word, and go in. However, you still can’t imagine yourself mingling with such clean and flawless people.
Knowing your thoughts, the prince says, “Now that you’ve believed, look at yourself again!” Then you did and suddenly, you were as regal and immaculate as the prince and everyone else in the room. This is akin to your righteousness in Christ Jesus. The Bible says,
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Glory to God!
No wonder He says in 1 Corinthians 6:11 that you’re washed, sanctified, and justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Now He’s made you His partner in bringing others into this amazing life of righteousness, to experience the same peace and glory you have in Him. Hallelujah! Don’t keep it to yourself.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for your righteousness in me, which produces in me the ability to live right and fulfil your will always. I produce fruits of righteousness, do the works of righteousness, and manifest your goodness to the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
