Trust In His Finished Works
“너희는 그 은혜에 의하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요 하나님의 선물이라 행위에서 난 것이 아니니 이는 누구든지 자랑하지 못하게 함이라”(엡 2:8-9)
어떤 사람들은 자신이 행한 선한 일로 하나님께 인정이나 축복을 받아야 한다고 생각합니다. 그들은 자신의 의를 믿습니다. 그러나 하나님은 그리스도가 이루신 일을 믿는 당신의 믿음을 보상하십니다. 그 믿음은 당신을 위한 그분의 대속적인 사역을 믿는 것입니다.
사도 바울은 자신이 행한 선한 일을 믿거나 율법을 지키는 것의 무익함에 대해 이렇게 말했습니다. “또한 모든 것을 해로 여김은 내 주 그리스도 예수를 아는 지식이 가장 고상하기 때문이라 내가 그를 위하여 모든 것을 잃어버리고 배설물로 여김은 그리스도를 얻고 그 안에서 발견되려 함이니 내가 가진 의는 율법에서 난 것이 아니요 오직 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암은 것이니 곧 믿음으로 하나님께로부터 난 의라”(빌 3:8-9)
밑줄 그어진 부분에 주목하십시오. 이것은 복음의 핵심을 보여줍니다. 그리스도 안에서 발견된다는 것은 자신의 의를 가지지 않고 그리스도 예수를 믿음으로 하나님의 의를 받아들이는 것입니다.
당신의 “독실함”으로 하나님을 감동시키려고 애쓰지 마십시오. 그분은 이미 그리스도 안에서 하늘의 모든 영적인 복으로 당신을 축복하셨습니다(엡 1:3). 당신이 갈망하는 것은 이미 그리스도 안에서 당신의 것입니다. 그분이 소유하시는 모든 것은 당신에게 속했습니다.
기억하십시오. 그리스도는 당신에게 그분의 생명을 주셨습니다. 그러므로 당신의 믿음은 그리스도께서 오신 이유와, 그분께서 당신을 위해서 그리고 당신 안에서 성취하신 일에 고정되어 있어야 합니다. 당신이 신성한 건강과 부요와 끝없는 승리와 축복의 삶을 살 수 있는 이유는 그리스도께서 이미 그것들을 당신의 소유로 만드셨기 때문입니다. 당신의 초점과 신뢰는 당신이 한 일이 아니라 그분이 하신 일과 그분의 존재에 두어야 합니다.

복되신 주님, 크신 주님을 찬양합니다. 그리스도 예수 안에서 하늘의 모든 영적인 복으로 나를 축복해주시고, 빛의 왕국의 영광스러운 성도의 유업에 참여하는 자가 되게 하시니 감사드립니다. 내 삶은 당신의 은혜를 증거하며, 당신의 영광과 탁월함과 의를 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

TRUST IN HIS FINISHED WORKS
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
There’re those who think they ought to be accepted by God or blessed of Him for their good works; they trust in their self-righteousness. But what God rewards is your faith in the finished works of Christ; His substitutionary work in your behalf.
The Apostle Paul revealed the fruitlessness of trusting in your good works or observance of the Law to answer for you before God. He writes, “…I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith” (Philippians 3:8-9).
Notice the underlined portion; it reveals the summary of the Gospel, which is, to be found in Christ, not having your own righteousness, but accepting God’s righteousness through the faith of Christ Jesus.
Never try to impress God with your “religiosity”; He has already blessed you with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). There’s really nothing you could ever want that isn’t already yours in Christ. Everything He owns belongs to you.
Remember, He gave you His life. Therefore, your faith should be anchored on what Christ came to do; what He’s accomplished for you and in you. The reason for your divine health, divine prosperity, and life of endless victories and blessings is that Christ already made them yours. Your focus and trust should be on Him, what He’s done and who He is, not on your works.
PRAYER
Blessed Lord, you’re great and greatly to be praised. Thank you for blessing me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus and making me a partaker of the glorious heritage of the saints in the Kingdom of light. My life is the testimony of your grace and manifestation of your glory, excellence and righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
