지혜를 드높이십시오
EXALT WISDOM
“지혜가 부르지 아니하느냐 명철이 소리를 높이지 아니하느냐”(잠 8:1)
하나님의 말씀은 하나님의 지혜입니다. 잠언 8장에서 우리는 지혜가 호소하는 내용을 봅니다. 잠언 8:18에서 지혜는 말합니다. “부귀가 내게 있고 장구한 재물과 공의도 그러하니라.” 이 말씀에도 불구하고 이 세상에 가난한 사람들이 더 많은 이유는 무엇입니까? 많은 사람들이 지혜를 무시하기 때문입니다.
또 다시 지혜가 말합니다. “나는 정의로운 길로 행하며 공의로운 길 가운데로 다니나니 이는 나를 사랑하는 자가 재물을 얻어서 그 곳간에 채우게 하려 함이니라”(잠8:20-21). 이 말씀은 당신이 매일 말씀 공부와 묵상에 자신을 푹 잠기게 할 충분한 이유가 됩니다. 말씀에 주의를 기울이는 것은 곧 지혜에 주의를 기울이는 것입니다.
슬프게도 많은 사람들이 지혜를 드높이며, 지혜를 포용하고 찬송하려는 노력을 기울이지 않습니다. 어떻게 지혜를 높이고 존중합니까? 말씀을 존중함으로 가능합니다. 당신의 삶에서 말씀을 첫번째 자리에 두십시오. 말씀을 당신의 유일한 결정권자로 만드십시오.
잠언 4:7-8은 말합니다. “지혜가 제일이니 지혜를 얻으라…그를 높이라 그리하면 그가 너를 높이 들리라 만일 그를 품으면 그가 너를 영화롭게 하리라.” 하나님의 지혜 곧 하나님의 말씀이 당신을 영광스러운 자리로 데려다 줄 것입니다. 즉 당신이 자신과 다른 사람들의 삶에서 하나님의 말씀을 높이지 않는다면 영광스러운 자리로 갈 수 없다는 뜻입니다.
또한 말씀은 지혜가 당신을 전진시킬 것이라 말합니다. 하나님의 말씀을 높이면 당신의 인생이 승진한다는 말입니다. 당신은 직장이나 학교에서 승진할 수도 있지만, 인생에서의 승진은 말씀을 높이고 말씀을 삶의 가장 높은 우선순위에 놓을 때 가능합니다. 항상 그분의 말씀을 존중하고 높임으로써 주님을 존중하기로 결단하십시오.
고백
나는 스스로를 말씀에 푹 잠기게 합니다. 그러므로 나의 삶은 하나님의 지혜의 표현입니다. 내가 하나님의 말씀을 공부하고 묵상하는 시간을 가질수록 나는 아버지의 성품을 더 닮아갑니다. 나는 그분의 온전한 뜻을 아는 통찰력을 가지고 있고, 그분께 합당한 인생을 살며, 범사에 하나님을 기쁘시게 합니다. 할렐루야!

EXALT WISDOM
“Doth not wisdom cry? And understanding put forth her voice?”(Proverbs 8:1).
The Word of God is the wisdom of God. In Proverbs 8, we read of the appeal of Wisdom. In the eighteenth verse, for example, Wisdom says, “Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.” How come, in spite of this, there’re more poor people in the world? It’s because many ignore Wisdom.
Again, Wisdom says, “I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures” (Proverbs 8:20-21). This is enough for you to bury yourself in the study and meditation of the Word daily. When you give the Word attention, you’re giving attention to Wisdom.
Sadly, many haven’t cultured themselves to exalt Wisdom, to embrace and celebrate Wisdom. How do you exalt or honour Wisdom? It’s by honouring the Word; giving the Word first place in your life; making the Word your only arbiter.
Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom…Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.” The wisdom of God—the Word of God—will bring you to a place of honour. That means if you’ll not exalt the Word of God in your life and in the lives of others, you’ll not come to a place of honour.
Also, it says Wisdom will promote you; meaning that if you exalt the Word of God, you’ll have life’s promotions. You may be promoted at work, or in school, but being promoted in life comes from exalting and giving the Word first place in your life. Make up your mind that you’ll always honour the Lord, by honouring and exalting His Word.
CONFESSION
I immerse myself in the Word; thus, my life is the expression of the wisdom of God. As I give time to studying and meditating on God’s Word, I’m more acquainted with the character of the Father; I have insight into His perfect will, and I walk worthy of Him, pleasing Him in all things. Hallelujah!
