Are You Expecting Him?
이와 같이 그리스도도 많은 사람의 죄를 담당하시려고 단번에 드리신 바 되셨고 구원에 이르게 하기 위하여 죄와 상관없이 자기를 바라는 자들에게 두 번째 나타나시리라 (히9:28)
성경은 모든 것의 끝이 가깝다고 알려 줍니다. 주님의 재림이 아주 가까워졌습니다. “만물의 마지막이 가까이 왔으니 그러므로 너희는 정신을 차리고 근신하여 기도하라”(벧전4:7). 그렇다면 당신은 예수님의 재림을 바라보고 있습니까? 예수님을 기다리고 있습니까?
예수님의 재림을 심각하게 받아들이지 않는 그리스도인들이 있습니다. 그러므로 그들은 하나님과의 관계를 가볍게 생각하고 그들의 기독교에 대해 안일합니다. 그들은 성경(마태복음 25장)이 말하는 주인의 재림을 기대하고 있지 않다가 마침내 주인이 오셨을 때 준비되지 않은 5명의 어리석은 처녀들과 같습니다.
이렇게 말하는 사람들과 함께 있지 마십시오: “예수님께서 속히 오실 것이라는 이 말씀은 너무 오래됐어. 도대체 그 일은 언제쯤 일어날까?” 이런 사람들은 주님을 기대하지 않았기 때문에 결국 일어날 때 깨닫지 못한 채 이 일을 맞이하게 될 것입니다. 성경은 예수님을 바라는 자들에게만 구원을 위해 죄가 없는 모습으로 두번째 나타나실 것이라고 말씀합니다. 오늘날 세계 곳곳에서 일어나는 일들과 사건들은 그분의 나타나심이 임박하다는 분명한 징표입니다.
“자고 있다”가 주님을 맞이하지 마십시오. 사도 바울이 데살로니가전서 5:6에서 자지 말라고 경고할 때, 그는 육신적인 수면을 말한 것이 아닙니다. 그는 영적인 수면상태, 곧 당신이 이 세상의 것들에 깊이 빠져서 당신 주변에 있는 영적인 실재들을 깨닫지 못하는 망각의 상태에 대해 말했습니다. 예수님께서는 우리에게 깨어 기도하라고 말씀하셨습니다. “…생각하지 않은 때에 인자가 오리라”(마24:44).

Are You Expecting Him?
“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation”(Hebrews 9:28).
The Bible lets us know that the end of all things is near; the coming of the Lord is so close: But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer (1 Peter 4:7). The question is, are you watching for His return? Are you expecting Him?
There’re Christians who aren’t taking this seriously; therefore, they’re casual with their relationship with God and complacent about their Christianity. They’re like the 5 foolish virgins the Bible talks about (Matthew 25) who weren’t expecting the return of their master and were unprepared when he eventually came.
Don’t be among those who say, “This talk of Jesus coming soon has been on for ages; when is it ever going to happen?” Such folks will be caught unawares when it eventually happens because they weren’t expecting Him. The Bible says only those who are expecting Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation. The events and happenings around the world today are clear indications that His appearing is imminent.
Don’t be caught “sleeping.” When the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:6 admonished us not to sleep, he wasn’t talking about physical sleep. He was talking about spiritual sleep, when you’re so deep into worldly things that you become unaware and oblivious of the spiritual realities around you. Jesus told us to watch and pray, “…for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 24:44).
