부활은 우리에게 새 생명을 주었습니다

“그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라”(롬 6:4)
만일 기독교가 죄에서 구원받는 것이 전부였다면, 예수님은 죽음에서 부활하실 필요가 없었을 것입니다. 그분은 십자가에서 죽는 것만으로도 충분했을 것입니다. 그분의 죽음은 우리의 모든 죄에 대한 값을 치르고 완전한 속죄를 보장했습니다. 그러나 그것은 속량일 뿐, 기독교 그 자체는 아닙니다!
속량은 값을 지불함으로써 누군가를 구원하는 것입니다. 따라서 예수님이 죽었을 때 그분은 자신의 생명으로 인간의 속량에 대한 값을 지불하신 것입니다. 그분은 그리스도인만을 위해서가 아니라 모든 인류를 위해서 죽으셨습니다. 그리스도의 죽음은 그리스도인만을 위한 것이 아닙니다. 이런 식으로 생각해 보십시오. 예수님이 십자가에 달리셨을 때, 하나님께는 우리 모두가 예수 안에서 십자가에 달렸습니다. 그분이 우리의 대리자이기 때문입니다. 예수님이 “다 이루었노라”고 말씀하시고 죽으셨을 때, 우리도 그분 안에서 죽었습니다.
이제 여기 중요한 내용이 있습니다. 사단은 보지 못했고 천사들은 놀라워하는 사실입니다. 기독교는 예수님의 죽음이 아니라 부활에 근거한 것입니다. 예수 그리스도의 부활은 우리에게 속량 그 이상을 주었습니다. 예수 그리스도의 부활은 우리를 새 새명으로 인도했습니다. 우리는 그리스도와 함께 일으켜졌습니다(엡 2:6).
로마서 10:9은 말합니다. “네가 만일 네 입으로 예수를 주로 시인하며 또 하나님께서 그를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 것을 네 마음에 믿으면 구원을 받으리라” 이 구절은 우리에게 주 예수 그리스도의 부활에 대한 믿음과 그분의 주되심에 대한 고백을 통해 구원받을 수 있다는 것을 알려줍니다. 그리스도인은 부활하신 그리스도와 동일시된 자입니다. 고린도후서 5:17에 따라 그리스도인에게는 과거가 없습니다. “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”
야고보가 이렇게 말한 것은 놀라운 일이 아닙니다. “그가(하나님이) 그 피조물 중에 우리로 한 첫 열매가 되게 하시려고 자기의 뜻을 따라 진리의 말씀으로 우리를 낳으셨느니라”(약 1:18) 그러므로 거듭남으로써 당신은 “속량 받은” 것이 아니라 그리스도의 속량 사역의 열매가 된 것입니다. 속량은 그분의 죽음으로 완성되었지만 기독교는 그분의 부활로 시작되었습니다. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 그리스도와 내가 하나되게 하시니 감사합니다. 나는 새로운 피조물이며 새 생명으로 삽니다. 나는 그리스도와 함께 일으켜져서 그분과 함께 영원히 승리와 권세와 통치의 자리에 있다는 것을 의식하며 살아갑니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).
If Christianity were all about salvation from sin, there wouldn’t have been the need for Jesus to rise from the dead. His death on the Cross would have been enough; it paid for all our sins and guaranteed complete propitiation. However, that’s redemption, and not Christianity!
Redemption refers to saving someone by paying a price. When Jesus died, He paid the price for man’s redemption with His own life; He did that for all humanity; not for Christians. The Christian isn’t the man that Christ died for. Look at it this way: when Jesus hung on the Cross, in the mind of God, we were all hanging there too (in Him), for He was our representative. When He cried out, “It is finished,” and gave up the ghost, we also died in Him.
Now, here’s the big thing, which Satan didn’t see coming and the angels still marvel at and seek to look into: Christianity is based on the resurrection of Jesus, and not on His death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ gave us something far beyond redemption; it ushered us into a newness of life. We’ve been raised up together with Christ (Ephesians 2:6).
Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” It lets us know that salvation comes by believing in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the subsequent confession of His Lordship. A Christian is one who identifies with the resurrected Christ. The Christian has no past, for the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…”; meaning that he is a new species, one that never existed before.
No wonder James declares that “Of his (God’s) own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures” (James 1:18). Being born again, therefore, you’re not the “redeemed”; you’re the fruit of the redemptive work of Christ. Redemption was consummated with His death, but Christianity came from the resurrection. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for making me one with Christ. I’m a new creation and I walk in the newness of life, conscious that I’ve been raised together with Christ, and made to sit together with Him in the place of victory, authority and dominion forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
