주님을 위해 살기로 결심하십시오
Be Resolved To Live For Him
“예수께서는 아버지께서 모든 것들을 자기 손 안에 주신 것과 자기가 하나님께로부터 왔다가 하나님께로 가는 것을 아시고”(요 13:3, 한글킹제임스)
두로의 성도들은 사도행전 21장에서 바울이 겪을 고난을 경고하며 예루살렘에 가지 말라고 간청했습니다. 그들은 바울에게 그가 고문 당하고, 투옥되고, 죽을 것이라고 말했습니다. 그러나 바울의 반응은 우리에게 큰 영감을 줍니다! 그는 이렇게 말했습니다. “어찌하여 울어 내 마음을 상하게 하느냐 나는 주 예수의 이름을 위하여 결박 당할 뿐 아니라 예루살렘에서 죽을 것도 각오하였노라”(행 21:13).
얼마나 대단한 결심입니까! 바울은 두려워하기를 거절했습니다. 그는 설령 죽을지라도 예루살렘으로 가기로 예수님처럼 굳게 결심했습니다. “예수께서 승천하실 기약이 차가매 예루살렘을 향하여 올라가기로 굳게 결심하시고”(눅 9:51). “굳게 결심하다”라는 말은 그리스어로 스테리조(sterizo)로서, ‘어떤 방향으로 단호히 돌리다’라는 뜻입니다.
예수님의 얼굴이 너무 단호해 보이셔서 누구든지 그분을 보면 그분이 어떤 일을 준비하고 계신지 알 수 있었습니다. 그분은 결정을 내리셨습니다. 그분은 예루살렘에서 어떤 일이 그분을 기다리고 있는지 알고 계셨습니다. 예수님은 제자들에게 말씀하셨습니다. “인자가 죄인의 손에 넘겨져 십자가에 못 박히고 제삼일에 다시 살아나야 하리라…”(눅 24:7) 그러나 그분은 마음을 바꾸지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 단호하게 예루살렘에 가기로 결심하셨습니다.
예수님이 예루살렘으로 가시는 듯한 얼굴이자 사마리아인들은 그분을 반기지 않았습니다(눅 9:53). 그분의 결정은 용모에서 분명하게 드러났습니다. 그분의 얼굴에 나타나 있었습니다! 어떻게 그럴 수 있었습니까? 예수님은 아버지가 자신을 신뢰하고 있음을 아셨습니다.
아버지께서 모든 것을 그분의 손에 맡기셨지만 세상을 위해 죽을 것인지에 대한 결정은 예수님께 달려 있었습니다. 그러나 그분은 굳게 결심하셨습니다. 이것이 바로 당신이 무슨 일이 있든지 삶을 다해 그분을 섬기고 그리스도인으로 살기로 결심하는 방법입니다.
예수님은 당신을 구원하기로 결정을 내리셨으므로 당신도 그분께 합당한 결정을 내리십시오. 주님을 섬기고 전 세계에 복음을 전파하는 일을 방해하는 것은 어떤 것도 허용하지 마십시오. 당신의 얼굴에서 드러날 정도로 그 결심을 확고히 하십시오.
고백
나는 단호하게 주님과 그분의 영광을 위해 삽니다. 나는 성령님과 하나님의 말씀에 대해 즐거워하고 열정적으로 영혼구원에 임합니다. 오늘날 세상에 어떠한 도전과 어려움이 있든지 나는 주님을 섬기고 영광과 의 안에서 밝게 빛나기로 결단합니다. 할렐루야!

BE RESOLVED TO LIVE FOR HIM
Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God (John 13:3 NIV).
In Acts 21, the saints at Tyre warned and pleaded with Paul not to go to Jerusalem, because of the afflictions he’d face there. They told him he’d be tortured, imprisoned and killed. But Paul’s response is most inspiring! He said, “…Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 21:13 NIV).
What a resolve! He refused to fear; he set his face like Jesus, to go to Jerusalem, even though it meant death! The Bible says, “And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51). The phrase, “stedfastly set” is “stērizō” (Greek), which means “to turn resolutely in a certain direction,” to be resolved.
Jesus’ countenance was so resolute that anybody that looked at Him knew He was up to something; he had made a decision. He knew what was awaiting Him in Jerusalem. He said to His disciples, “…The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified…” (Luke 24:7), but He was undeterred; He steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.
The Samaritans were hostile to Him, because they could see on His face He was headed to Jerusalem, and they didn’t like it (Luke 9:53). His decision was obvious from His countenance; registered on His visage! Why? He knew the Father was depending on Him.
Even though the Father had given all things into His hands, the decision about whether or not to die for the world, was left to Him (Jesus); but He was focused. This is how you should be resolved to serve Him with your life, to live as a Christian, no matter what!
Make a decision that’s worthy of Jesus, because He made a decision to save you. Never allow any form of distraction in your service to the Lord and spreading of the Gospel around the world. Let it be so strong that even your countenance conveys it.
CONFESSION
I live purposefully unto the Lord, and for His glory. I’m excited about the Holy Spirit, about the Word of God, and fervent in soul winning. Irrespective of the challenges and the difficulties in today’s world, I’m resolved in serving the Lord, shining brightly in glory and righteousness. Hallelujah!
