“내가 사람의 방법으로 에베소에서 맹수와 더불어 싸웠다면 내게 무슨 유익이 있으리요…”(고전 15:32)
에베소에서의 바울의 사역에 관한 성경구절들을 보면, 우리는 바울이 검투사가 되어 동물과 맞붙은 것이 아님을 알 수 있습니다. 그 당시 로마 시민을 검투사로 만드는 것은 불법이었습니다. 우리는 또한 그가 동물과 싸우기 위해 수풀에 들어간 적이 없다는 것을 압니다. 그는 사람들과 육체적인 싸움에 휘말린 적도 없었습니다. 그렇다면 오늘 본문구절에서 그가 에베소에서 맹수와 싸웠다는 것은 무슨 뜻입니까?
고린도후서 1장에서 바울은 이 끔찍한 경험을 다시 설명하면서 그와 그의 동료들이 끝이 없는 압박 가운데 있었고 생명의 소망까지도 끊어졌다고 말했습니다. “형제들아 우리가 아시아에서 당한 환난을 너희가 모르기를 원하지 아니하노니 힘에 겹도록 심한 고난을 당하여 살 소망까지 끊어지고”(고후 1:8).
그러나 하나님께서 이들을 이 큰 고난에서 건져내셨습니다. 하지만 이전까지 바울과 동료들은 기도 가운데 있었고, 다른 성도들도 그들을 위해 중보했습니다. “너희도 우리를 위하여 간구함으로 도우라…”(고후 1:11). 그들은 씨름하고 있었습니다. 그들의 싸움은 혈과 육으로 하는 것이 아니었고, 사람을 대적하는 것도 아니었습니다. 그 싸움은 영적인 것이었습니다.
바울은 자신을 향한 사람들의 악함을 영적인 영역에서 다루었습니다. 당신이 영적으로 성숙한 상태에 이르면, 당신은 누군가 당신을 함부로 대할 때 그 사람들과 싸우지 않고, 그 행동에 책임이 있는 영들을 대면합니다. 이것이 바울이 “내가 에베소에서 맹수와 싸웠다”고 말했을 때 한 일입니다.
당신이 이러한 악령들에게 권세를 행사하여 사람들 위에 있는 그들의 영향력을 끊을 때, 그 사람들은 더 이상 예전처럼 생각하고 행동하지 않을 것입니다. 그들의 그러한 행동에 책임이 있는 영들이 묶이거나 추방당했기 때문입니다.
당신 나라의 지도자들이 잘못된 결정을 내리고 있습니까? 그들에게 화를 내지 마십시오. 많은 경우에 지도자들은 그들의 잘못된 결정들이 마귀들이 그들에게 말하며 생각을 집어넣은 결과라는 것을 인식하지 못합니다. 우리는 중보기도와 예수 이름 안에 있는 우리의 권세를 사용하여 우리 도시와 국가의 상황을 바꿀 수 있습니다.
우리는 기도로 반드시 우리 나라의 정부와 지도자들 위에 있는 마귀들의 영향력을 끊어야 합니다. 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 담대하게 그 능력을 행사하십시오!

나는 하나님과 영적인 실재와 영적인 영역에 민감하게 반응합니다. 나는 그리스도 예수 안에서 승리하며 다스리기 유리한 위치에서 기능합니다. 나는 예수 이름을 사용할 수 있는 능력을 받았으므로, 나의 삶, 나의 환경, 그리고 내가 사랑하는 사람들의 삶 가운데 어떤 마귀의 활동도 허락하지 않습니다. 할렐루야!

OPERATE FROM THE SPIRIT REALM
“If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me…”(1 Corinthians 15:32).
From studying the Scriptures on Paul’s ministry at Ephesus, we understand that he wasn’t fighting animals like a gladiator. It was actually illegal to make Roman citizens gladiators. We also know he never went into the bush to fight animals, neither was he engaged in any physical combat with men. So, what did he mean when he said he “fought with beasts at Ephesus?”
In 2 Corinthians 1, he again described this horrible experience, explaining that he and his companions were pressed beyond measure and despaired even of life: “For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life” (2 Corinthians 1:8).
God, however, delivered them from this great peril. But they had been in prayer, and other saints were also interceding for them: “Ye also helping together by prayer for us…” (2 Corinthians 1:11). They had been wrestling. Their struggle wasn’t with flesh and blood; it wasn’t against humans. It was spiritual.
Paul dealt with the wickedness of men against him from the realm of the spirit. When you come to spiritual maturity, you don’t confront human beings when they’re mistreating you; you confront the spirits responsible for their actions. That’s what Paul did when he said, “I have fought with beasts at Ephesus.”
When you exercise dominion over these evil spirits and break their influence over the people, they’ll stop thinking and acting the way they used to, because the spirits responsible for their actions have been bound or expelled.
Are the leaders of your country making wrong decisions? Don’t get angry with them. In many cases, they’re unaware that their wrong decisions are a result of demons talking to them and putting thoughts in their minds. With intercessory prayer and using our authority in the Name of Jesus over demons, we can change the situation in our cities and nations.
We must, in prayer, break the influence of demons over the governments and leaders of our nations. Be bold to exercise this power in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

I’m sensitive to God, to spiritual realities, and to the spiritual realm where I function from a vantage position of victory and dominion in Christ Jesus. I’ve been granted the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus; therefore, I disallow all demonic activities in my life, in my environment and in the lives of my loved ones. Hallelujah!
