Walk In The Spirit
“만일 너희 속에 하나님의 영이 거하시면 너희가 육신에 있지 아니하고 영에 있나니 누구든지 그리스도의 영이 없으면 그리스도의 사람이 아니라”(롬 8:9)
여전히 육신과 감각을 따라 쉽게 좌지우지되는 그리스도인들이 있습니다. 그래서 그들은 항상 주님께 육신의 정욕과 탐심을 이기게 해달라고 기도합니다. 그러나 이는 말씀과 반대된 것입니다. 말씀은 “그리스도께 속한 사람들은 그 육신을 애정과 정욕과 함께 십자가에 처형했느니라”(갈 5:24, 한글킹제임스)고 말하기 때문입니다. 당신이 할 일은 단지 말씀대로 살아가는 것입니다.
하나님의 말씀은 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 당신의 정체성과 유업과 근원과 능력을 보여줍니다. 말씀은 거울과 같습니다. 말씀이 보여주는 당신의 모습을 보고 그대로 사는 것은 당신의 책임입니다. 우리는 오늘의 본문 구절에서 우리가 육신에 있지 않고 영에 있다는 것을 보았습니다. 그것은 하나님의 선언이며, 하나님께서 당신을 바라보시는 관점입니다. 당신의 재창조된 영은 그리스도 안에서 완전합니다. 그렇다면 이제 당신은 무엇을 해야 하겠습니까? 갈라디아서 5:16은 당신이 해야 할 일과 그 일의 결과를 말합니다. “내가 이르노니 너희는 성령을 따라 행하라 그리하면 육체의 욕심을 이루지 아니하리라”
당신은 성령의 영역 안에서 태어났기 때문에 성령을 따라 행해야 합니다. 당신은 성령 안에서 삽니다. 그것이 지금 당신의 삶입니다! 어떤 사람들이 여전히 건강하지 못한 갈망과 습관 가운데 고군분투하는 이유는 자신이 그리스도 안에서 누구인지 인식하지 않고 살기 때문입니다. 그들은 성령을 따라 살지 않습니다. 성령 안에서 행한다는 것은 무엇입니까? 이는 공중에 떠 있다는 의미가 아닙니다. 하나님의 말씀의 빛, 즉 그분 안에서 당신이 어떤 존재인지를 인식하고 그에 따라 사는 것입니다.
이제 당신이 거듭났으니, 당신의 관심을 성령의 일들에 두십시오. 만약 자신이 세상의 일들에 정욕이나 갈망을 느낀다면, 반드시 “아니, 이건 진짜 내가 아니야. 나는 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 의야. 내 영은 깨끗해. 나는 새로운 피조물이야. 나는 하나님과 그분의 말씀에만 목말라 해. 나의 마음은 이 땅에 있는 것들이 아니라 위의 것들에 있어.”라고 말하십시오. 할렐루야!

WALK IN THE SPIRIT
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his (Romans 8:9).
There’re Christians who are still easily controlled by the dictates of the flesh and its senses. So, always, they pray, asking the Lord to help them overcome the flesh with its affections and lusts. But that’s a contradiction, because the Word says, “… those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24 NKJV). What you’re supposed to do is live the Word.
God’s Word reveals your identity, heritage, origin and ability in Christ Jesus; it’s a mirror. Your responsibility is to accept the picture of you that the Word projects, and live accordingly. We read in our opening verse that you’re not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. That’s the declaration of God; that’s how He sees you. Your recreated human spirit is perfected in Christ; so, what then? Galatians 5:16 states what you’re supposed to do and the result: “…Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
You’re to walk in the Spirit because you’re born into the realm of the Spirit; you live in the Spirit; that’s your life now! The reason some still find themselves struggling with unhealthy desires and habits is that they’re not walking in the consciousness of who they are in Christ; they’re not walking in the Spirit. How do you walk in the Spirit? It doesn’t mean floating in the air; it means walking in the light of God’s Word; walking in the light of who you are in Him.
Now that you’re born again, set your appetite on the things of the Spirit. If you find yourself lusting after or desiring the things of the world, you ought to say, “No, that’s not who I am; I’m the righteousness of God in Christ; my spirit is clean; I’m a new creature. I thirst and yearn after God and His Word only. My affection is set on things above, not on things in the earth.” Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the ability to comprehend who I am in Christ. I’m born of the Spirit and yielded to the Spirit, to do your will and walk in your light. My life is the expression and manifestation of your righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
