You’re A Heavenly Being
“우리가 흙에 속한 자의 형상을 입은 것 같이 또한 하늘에 속한 이의 형상을 입으리라”(고전 15:49)
하나님의 말씀은 우리가 하늘에 속한 자라는 것을 보여줍니다. 오늘의 본문 말씀은 당신이 천국에 도착했을 때 그곳에 속한 사람처럼 살아가는 것이 아니라, 지금 이 땅에서부터 그러한 자로 살아가라고 권고합니다. 사도 바울이 명확한 대립을 통하여 묘사한 것을 주목하십시오. 우리가 흙의 형상으로 태어났지만 그것은 우리가 그리스도 안에서 새로운 피조물이 됨으로 이제 지나간 것이 되었습니다. 그러므로 우리는 이제 하늘에 속한 자로서, 그리스도의 상징으로서, 하나님과 같은 부류의 사람들로서 살아가야 합니다.
당신은 이 땅에 속한 사람이 아닙니다. 당신은 하늘에 속했습니다. 매일 이것을 의식하고, 당신의 말과 생활방식에서 분명하게 드러내십시오. 일상 생활을 하면서도 “나는 하늘에 속한 자이다.”라고 선언하십시오. 이것이 예수 그리스도의 복음입니다. 예수님은 당신이 하늘에 속한 자가 되게 하기 위해 오셨습니다. 예수님은 당신이 천국에 갔을 때가 아니라 지금 이 땅에서 그러한 삶을 살도록 하늘의 생명을 주시기 위해 오셨습니다.
천국은 하늘로부터 난 자들을 위한 것이며, 이 땅에서 하늘의 생명을 소유한 자들의 것입니다. 하늘의 생명이 없는 자는 하늘에 갈 수 없습니다. 법적으로 어느 나라든지 그 나라에 입국하려면 시민으로서 여권을 소지하고 있거나 비자를 발급받아야 합니다. 입국 허가를 받기 위해서는 둘 중 하나는 충족해야 합니다.
이것은 사실상 모든 나라에 통용되며, 하늘 역시 나라입니다. 빌립보서 3:20은 우리가 하늘의 시민이라는 것을 말해줍니다. 하늘에 갈 “자격이 없는” 사람은 그곳에 들어갈 수 없습니다. 그리고 자격을 얻는 길은 거듭나는 것입니다. 이는 당신이 이 땅에 사는 동안 하늘의 생명인 그리스도의 생명을 받는 것입니다. 그렇게 되면 당신은 하늘의 시민이 되고 그분께 속하게 되어 그분이 오실 때 그분과 함께 휴거 될 것입니다. 할렐루야!
당신이 거듭나서 왕국의 시민이 된 것에 대해 기뻐하십시오. 당신이 이 세상에 속해 있지 않다는 것을 계속 상기하십시오. 당신은 위로부터 태어나 하나님의 생명과 본성을 가진 하늘에 속한 자입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 성도들과 함께 하늘의 시민이 되고 하나님의 가족의 중요한 구성원이 된 영광스러운 연합에 감사드립니다. 나는 이 세상에 속하지 않았으므로 이 세상의 타락과 부패의 영향을 받지 않습니다. 그리스도의 상징이자 하나님의 동역자로 나는 모든 세속적이고 평범한 영향력 위에서 살아갑니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

YOU’RE A HEAVENLY BEING
Therefore as we have borne the image of the earthly, let us bear also the image of the heavenly (1 Corinthians 15:49 DRB).
The Christian is a heavenly being; the Word of God shows us that. Our opening verse is a charge for you to walk as the heavenly being that you are—not when you get to heaven, but here and now—in the earth. Notice the juxtaposition in Apostle Paul’s argument: we’ve borne the image of the earthy, which is now passed away because we’re now new creatures in Christ. Therefore, let us now live as heavenly beings, as icons of Christ, associates of the God-kind.
You’re not an earthling; you’re heavenly. Become conscious of this every day; make it obvious in your communication and manner of life. Every so often, you
declare, “I’m a heavenly being.” That’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ; He came to make you heavenly. He came to give you a heavenly life to live, not when you get to heaven but here in the earth. This is important because if you don’t have a heavenly life here in the earth, you’ll never go to heaven.
Heaven is for heavenly beings; those who have a heavenly life in the earth. No one can go to heaven without a heavenly life. There’re only two legal ways someone can be granted entry to a country; any country. It’s either you’re a citizen of that country, bearing the passport of that country, or you’re issued a visa into the country. You must possess either or both before you’re granted entry.
Now, this is true for virtually every country, and heaven is a country. Philippians 3:20 NIV tells us that we’re citizens of heaven. No man will go to heaven who’s not “qualified” to be in heaven. And the way to qualify is being born again; having the life of Christ, the life of heaven in you here in the earth. Then, when He comes, because you’re already a citizen of heaven, because you already belong to Him, you’ll go with Him at the rapture. Hallelujah!
Be glad that you’re born again, and therefore a citizen of the Kingdom. Remind yourself continually that you’re not of this world. You’re heavenly; born from above with the life and nature of God in you.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for my glorious association as a fellow citizen with the saints, and a vital member of the household of God. I’m not of this world, neither am I subject to the depravities and corrupting influences of this present world. As an icon of Christ, and a comrade of the God-kind, I live far above all earthly and mundane influences, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
