Christ And His Church
“또 만물을 그의 발 아래에 복종하게 하시고 그를 만물 위에 교회의 머리로 삼으셨느니라 교회는 그의 몸이니 만물 안에서 만물을 충만하게 하시는 이의 충만함이니라”(엡 1:22-23)
그리스도와 교회는 하나입니다. 그리스도는 머리이시고 교회는 그분의 몸입니다. 우리가 그분과 분리되는 것은 불가능합니다. 한 예로, 사도행전 9:3-5에서 우리는 훗날 바울로 불리는 다소의 사울과 주님의 대화에서 그리스도와 교회의 연합에 대한 명확한 설명을 확인할 수 있습니다.
성경은 말합니다. “사울이 길을 가다가 다마스커스에 가까이 이르렀을 때에 갑자기 하늘로부터 빛이 나와 그를 둘러 비추더라. 그가 땅에 쓰러져 들으매 한 음성이 있어 그에게 이르시되, 사울아, 사울아, 어찌하여 네가 나를 핍박하느냐? 하시거늘 그가 이르되, 주여, 누구시니이까? 하니 주께서 이르시되, 나는 네가 핍박하는 예수라. 가시 채를 걷어차기가 네게 고생이라, 하시거늘.”(행 9:3-5, 킹제임스 흠정역)
사울은 회심하기 전까지 초대 교회를 파괴하고 모든 곳에서 그리스도인들을 박해했습니다. 주님은 그를 막으시고는 이렇게 물으셨습니다. “사울아 사울아 어찌하여 네가 나를 핍박하느냐?” 주님은 자신과 교회를 매우 가깝게 동일시하십니다. 교회에 대해 저지른 범죄나 악은 곧 예수님께 한 것과 같습니다. 주님은 우리와 한 몸이시기 때문에 그분께 한 일로 받아들이십니다.
그분은 포도나무이시고 교회인 우리는 가지입니다. 그분은 교회의 머리이십니다. “그가 몸인 교회의 머리시라…”(골 1:18) 머리와 몸은 같은 이름, 권세, 정체성을 가지고 있습니다. 따라서 우리는 모두 그리스도라고 불립니다!
우리는 그리스도의 몸 안으로 침례를 받았습니다. 고린도전서 12:27은 “너희는 그리스도의 몸이요 지체의 각 부분이라.”고 말합니다. 또 고린도전서 12:13은 “우리가…다 한 성령으로 세례를 받아 한 몸이 되었고 또 다 한 성령을 마시게 하셨느니라.”고 말합니다. 교회는 자신의 머리나 몸이 가진 이름, 즉 그리스도 외에 다른 이름에 응답하지 않습니다.
이 사실은 당신이 누구인지, 어디에 있는지, 무엇을 가지고 있는지 알게 합니다. 당신은 그리스도와 하나입니다. 예수님이 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나셨을 때, 당신도 그분과 함께 일으켜졌습니다. 이제 예수님은 보좌에 앉으셨으니 당신 또한 다스림, 영광, 권세의 자리에 그분과 함께 앉은 것입니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!
고백
복되신 아버지, 당신은 정말 놀라운 분이십니다! 내가 그리스도와 분리될 수 없는 하나가 되었음에 감사드립니다. 나를 우주를 다스리시는 분과 동일시되는 숭고한 연합의 자리로 이끌어 주시니 감사합니다. 이제 나는 다스림, 영광, 권세의 자리에 그리스도와 함께 앉아 있습니다. 나는 이곳에서 성령의 능력으로 환경과 상황을 다스리고 통치합니다! 아멘.

CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH
“And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all”(Ephesians 1:22-23).
Christ and the Church are one. He is the head, and we, the Church are His body. We’re inextricably one with Him. In Acts 9:3-5, for example, we have a clear reference of the union of Christ and the Church in the dialogue between the Lord and Saul of Tarsus, who later became Paul.
That passage reads, “And as he (Saul) journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks (Acts 9:3-5).
Prior to his conversion, Saul wreaked havoc in the early Church and persecuted Christians everywhere, until he had an encounter with the Lord, who intercepted him and asked, “…Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” the Lord intimately identifies Himself with the Church. An offence or evil committed against the Church is committed against Jesus. The Lord takes it personal because we’re of the same stock.
He’s the Vine, and we—the Church—are the branches. He’s the head of the Church: “And he is the head of the body, the church…” (Colossians 1:18). The head and the body have the same name, authority and identity; together we’re called Christ!
We’ve been baptized into the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27 says, “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” 1 Corinthians 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body…and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” The Church doesn’t answer a name that’s different from that of the head or of the body, which is Christ.
This is to help you see who you are, where you are, and what you have; you’re one with Christ. When He was raised from the dead, you were raised up together with Him. Now that He’s seated on the throne, you’re seated together with Him in the place of dominion, glory and authority. Blessed be God!
PRAYER
Blessed Father, how awesome you are! Thank you for my inextricable oneness with Christ; thank you for bringing me into such sublime union and identity with the Monarch of the Universe. Now I’m seated with Christ in the place of dominion, glory and authority, where I reign and rule over circumstances and situations by the power of the Holy Ghost! Amen.
