겁먹고 도망가지 마십시오
Don’t “Chicken” Out
“내가 너희에게 이르노니 속히 그 원한을 풀어 주시리라 그러나 인자가 올 때에 세상에서 믿음을 보겠느냐 하시니라”(눅 18:8)
오늘날 세상에서 사람들은 자신의 책임을 쉽게 포기하는 경향이 있습니다. 그들은 직장에 지쳐서 직장을 떠납니다. 그들은 결혼생활에 지쳐서 가정을 떠납니다. 그들은 자녀에 지쳐서 거리를 둡니다. 그들은 무언가에 지쳐서 그저 나가버립니다. 그러나 이는 우리가 부름 받은 믿음의 삶이 아닙니다. 오히려 문제입니다.
믿음은 안정성, 끈기, 지구력, 심지어 인내가 필요합니다. 믿음은 결코 포기하지 않습니다. 위에서 묘사한 사람들이 깨닫지 못하는 사실은 그들이 사탄에게 자신의 삶을 향한 하나님의 뜻과 목적을 성취하는 것을 방해할 기회를 주고 있다는 것입니다. 사탄은 그들의 일을 방해하고, 사업을 망치거나, 관계를 불안정하게 만들려고 합니다. 그러면 그들은 그냥 포기합니다. 아닙니다. 그런 일들을 허용하지 마십시오. 마귀를 대적하십시오. 그리하면 마귀는 당신으로부터 도망칠 것입니다(약 4:7).
믿음은 단지 하나님으로부터 원하는 것을 얻기 위한 것이 아닙니다. 믿음은 하나님을 위해 살고, 상황과 상관없이 독립적으로 이 땅에 하나님의 의를 세우기 위한 것입니다. 따라서 모든 것에 지쳐서 그만두는 것은 하나님의 자녀가 가지고 있는 선택 사항이 아닙니다.
도전에 직면했다고 해서 당신의 사역, 직장, 사업 또는 학업을 포기하기로 결정하지 마십시오. 당신의 믿음이 역사하게 하십시오. 열렬하고 끈기 있게 기도하고 중보하십시오. 겁먹고 도망가지 마십시오. 성경은 어려움을 당할 때 포기하는 사람들은 좋지 않은 예시라고 말합니다(잠 24:10).
이 과정 중에 생각은 중요한 역할을 담당합니다. 사탄은 종종 의심과 부정적인 생각들로 공격합니다. 당신은 하나님의 진리와 일치하지 않는 이러한 생각들을 적극적으로 거절해야 합니다. 오히려 똑바로 바라보십시오. 당신의 심령을 올바른 길, 즉 하나님께서 당신에 대해 말씀하신 바에 두십시오.
비전에서 벗어나지 마십시오. 하나님의 말씀에 집중하십시오. 그리스도와 그분의 말씀에 당신의 애정을 두십시오. 그러면 당신의 믿음이 항상 승리할 것입니다.
기도
내 믿음은 강하며 흔들리지 않습니다. 내 믿음은 하나님의 말씀에 뿌리를 내리고 있기 때문입니다. 나는 의심이나 두려움에 틈을 주지 않습니다. 내 생각, 말, 행동은 하나님의 영원한 말씀에 일치하며, 상황과 관계없이 하나님께 영광을 드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

DON’T “CHICKEN” OUT
“…Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8).
In today’s world, people tend to abandon their commitments easily. They get tired of their job and leave; they get tired of their marriage and walk out. They get tired of their children and distance themselves. They get tired of anything and just check out. This isn’t the faith-lifestyle we’ve been called to live; it indicates a problem.
Faith requires stability, doggedness, staying power and even patience. Faith never gives up. What such folks may not realize is that they’re giving Satan the opportunity to hinder them from fulfilling the will and purpose of God for their lives. He disrupts their jobs, tries to ruin their business or destabilize their relationships, and they just give up. No; don’t allow it. Resist the devil and he’ll flee from you (James 4:7).
Faith isn’t just for getting what you want from God. No! Faith is for living for God and establishing His righteousness in the earth, irrespective and independent of circumstances. So, being tired of everything and “checking” out is not an option for the child of God.
You can’t just decide to abandon your ministry, job, business, or academics because you’re facing challenges. Put your faith to work; become earnest and importunate in prayer and intercession; don’t chicken out. The Bible says those who quit in the day of trouble are of a poor specimen (Proverbs 24:10).
The mind plays a crucial role in this process. It is often attacked by Satan with doubts and negative thoughts. You must actively reject those thoughts that do not align with God’s truth and instead, let your eyes look straight on. Set your heart on the right course, on what God has said concerning you.
Don’t deviate from the vision; focus on His Word. Set your affections on Christ and His Word, and your faith will always prevail.
CONFESSION
My faith is strong and never wavers, because it’s founded on God’s Word. I don’t give room to doubt and fear. My thoughts, words, and actions are in sync with your eternal Word, bringing glory to you, irrespective of circumstances, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
