Power Of A Strong Desire
“너희가 온 마음으로 나를 구하면 나를 찾을 것이요 나를 만나리라 이것은 여호와의 말씀이니라 나는 너희들을 만날 것이며…”(렘 29:13-14)
하나님은 그분을 알고, 그분과 함께 걷고, 그분의 뜻을 행하려는 강한 갈망을 결코 무시하지 않으십니다. 이러한 강한 갈망은 억제할 수 없는 기도에 대한 열망을 낳습니다. 바로 이것이 때때로 우리가 누군가가 “기도의 영”에 사로잡혔다고 말할 때의 의미입니다. 성령님께서 당신의 마음에 강력한 기도의 분위기와 영향력을 주셨다는 뜻입니다.
이런 일이 일어나면 기도는 당신이 행하고 생각하는 전부가 됩니다. 이 영향력은 당신에게 오랜 기간 동안 머무를 수 있습니다. 그러나 하나님이 택하셨을 때만 이런 일이 일어나는 것은 아닙니다. 오히려 당신의 갈망으로 기도의 영을 초청할 수 있습니다. 성경은 하나님께서 목마른 영혼을 만족시키신다고 말합니다(시편 107:9).
기도의 교제를 시작하면 얼마 지나지 않아 중보기도의 영이 당신에게 임하고 끊임없이 기도하고 있는 자신을 발견하게 됩니다. 성령님은 그분의 동기, 비전, 계획, 목적, 그분이 관심을 가지고 행하기 원하시는 일들을 당신에게 보이실 것입니다. 그분은 기도 중에 당신을 통해 그분을 표현할 것입니다.
모든 그리스도인은 자신의 삶에서 주님과 그분의 말씀과 영향력을 강하게 갈망해야 합니다. 당신이 이런 갈망을 가지고 있다면 주변 사람들에게도 쉽게 영향을 미칠 수 있습니다. 그러므로 갈망을 키우십시오. 다윗처럼 항상 주님에 대한 사랑과 열정을 유지하고 강한 갈망을 가지기 위해 당신의 심령을 흔들어 깨우십시오. 주님을 향한 강한 갈망으로 고무된 다윗은 이렇게 말했습니다. “하나님이여 주는 나의 하나님이시라 내가 간절히 주를 찾되 물이 없어 마르고 황폐한 땅에서 내 영혼이 주를 갈망하며 내 육체가 주를 앙모하나이다”(시 63:1).
고백
사랑하는 아버지, 당신은 나의 영광, 나의 기쁨, 나의 전부입니다. 목마른 사슴이 시냇물을 원하는 것보다 더 간절히 나의 영혼이 당신을 원합니다. 나의 삶에 있는 당신의 영광에 감사합니다. 나의 갈망은 당신을 더 알고, 당신의 뜻을 행하고, 나를 위한 당신의 완전한 뜻을 이루는 것입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

POWER OF A STRONG DESIRE
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD…” (Jeremiah 29:13-14).
God never ignores a strong desire—a strong desire to know Him, walk with Him and do His will. That strong desire births an unquenchable urge for prayer. That’s what we mean sometimes when we say someone is taken over by the “spirit of prayer.” It means the Holy Spirit has brought an overwhelming atmosphere and influence of prayer on your heart.
When that happens, prayer becomes all that you do and think about. That influence could stay on you for a protracted period of time. However, this isn’t just something that happens when God chooses to; rather, it’s what you invite by desire. The Bible says He satisfies the thirsty soul (Psalm 107:9).
When you begin that fellowship of prayer, it won’t be long before that spirit of intercession comes on you and you find that you’re constantly praying. Every now and then the Spirit will pull you to His motivations, visions, plans and purposes, the things that He cares about and wants to do. He’d be expressing Himself through you in prayer.
This is something that should be evident in the life of every Christian; a strong desire for the Lord, His Word, and His influence in your life. When you have it, you can easily influence those around you with it. So, cultivate it. Stir your heart to have a strong desire and maintain your zeal, love and passion for the Lord at all times. David, inspired by a strong desire for the Lord, said, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is” (Psalm 63:1).
PRAYER
Dear Father, you’re my glory, my joy and my all; my soul pants for you much more than the deer pants after the water brooks. Thank you for your glory in my life. My desire is to know you more and fulfill your perfect will for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
