“말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라”(요 1:14)

그리스도인이 그리스도께서 거하시는 사람이라고 말할 때, 문제는 많은 사람들이 그리스도가 무슨 뜻인지 또는 그리스도가 누구인지 모른다는 것입니다. 그리스도라는 단어의 의미는 무엇입니까? 그리스도는 히브리어로 메시아이며, 메시아는 기름 부음 받은 자를 의미합니다. 구약에서는 메시아라고 불렸고, 신약에서는 그리스도라고 불렸지만, 둘 다 같은 사람을 지칭합니다.
유대인들이 이해한 메시아는 다니엘 선지자가 “인자”라고 부른 분이었습니다. 예수님께서 자신을 십자가에 못 박히실 “들려야 할” “인자”라고 말씀하셨을 때, 유대인들은 그분께 “이 인자는 누구냐?”고 질문했습니다. 그들은 그리스도가 영원히 살 것이라고 생각했습니다. 요한복음 12:23, 32-34은 말합니다. “… 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 인자가 영광을 얻을 때가 왔도다… 내가 땅에서 들리면 모든 사람을 내게로 이끌겠노라 하시니 이렇게 말씀하심은 자기가 어떠한 죽음으로 죽을 것을 보이심이러라 이에 무리가 대답하되 우리는 율법에서 그리스도가 영원히 계신다 함을 들었거늘 너는 어찌하여 인자가 들려야 하리라 하느냐 이 인자는 누구냐” 예수님은 다니엘의 예언을 언급하셨고, 그 예언을 확증하셨습니다.
인자라는 용어는 하나님의 아들을 설명하는 단어입니다. 그러나 하나님의 아들은 “하나님께서 낳으신 자”를 의미하지 않습니다. 오히려 인간의 육신 안에 계신 하나님을 의미합니다. 그래서 예수님께서 자신이 하나님의 아들이라고 말씀하셨을 때, 유대인 지도자들은 그분을 신성모독으로 고발했습니다. 그들은 “…선한 일로 말미암아 우리가 너를 돌로 치려는 것이 아니라 신성모독으로 인함이니 네가 사람이 되어 자칭 하나님이라 함이로라”(요 10:33)고 말했습니다. 그들은 예수님께서 그분을 육신 안에 나타나신 하나님이신 메시아라고 선포하심을 알았습니다.

BECOME MORE CONSCIOUS OF CHRIST IN YOU

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

When we say the Christian is one in whom Christ lives, the problem is that not many even know what Christ means or who Christ is. What is the meaning of the word Christ? Christ is the Hebrew word for Messiah, and The Messiah means the Anointed One. In the Old Testament, He was called Messiah, and in the New Testament, He is called Christ, but they both refer to the same person.
Whom the Jews understood to be Messiah was what the Prophet Daniel called the “Son of Man.” When Jesus referred to Himself as the “Son of Man” who would be “lifted up,” meaning crucified, the Jews questioned Him, asking, “Who is this Son of Man?” They thought the Christ would live forever. The Bible says in John 12:23, 32-34: “…Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified…And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die. The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? ” Jesus referred to Daniel’s prophecies and this corroborated them.
The term Son of Man is a description of the Son of God. But Son of God doesn’t mean “one born by God”; rather, it means God in human flesh. This was why when Jesus said He was the Son of God, the Jewish leaders accused Him of blasphemy. They said, “…For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God” (John 10:33). They understood that the Messiah, God manifest in the flesh, is whom Jesus declared Himself to be.
When you say Jesus is the Christ, you mean Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. That was what He was crucified for. Never forget it. In another instance, as Mark 14:61-64 tells us, when the high priest asked Him directly, “Are you the Christ?” and Jesus answered in the affirmative, the high priest tore his robe, declaring it blasphemy. That declaration led to Jesus’ condemnation to death. But Jesus was right. He was truly the Christ.
The Messiah or Christ is God in the flesh. And when you received Christ, His divine life supplanted your human life and became manifest in you. You became a Christ-in-you person. Colossians 1:27 says, “…Christ in you, the hope of glory.” This is the glory and essence of Christianity—Christ in you! Become aware and more conscious of this reality today, more than ever before.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the revelation of who Christ is—God manifested in the flesh. I declare that Christ lives in me, and His divine life is made manifest in every part of my being. I walk in the consciousness of this reality, fulfilling your purpose and displaying your glory to the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“인내를 온전히 이루라 이는 너희로 온전하고 구비하여 조금도 부족함이 없게 하려 함이라”(약 1:4)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 당신이 주목해야 할 두 가지 핵심 단어가 있습니다. 바로 “온전”과 “완전”입니다. “온전”은 그리스어 “텔레이오스(teleios)”에서 유래되었으며, 완전함을 의미합니다. “완전”은 그리스어 “홀로클레로스(holokleros)”에서 번역되었으며, 모든 부분에서 완전함, 완벽함, 온전함을 의미합니다. 필요한 것이 하나도 빠지지 않는 상태입니다. 이것이 당신을 향한 하나님의 뜻입니다.

PERFECT AND COMPLETE

“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:4).

There’re two key words I want you to notice in the verse above; the words “perfect” and “entire.” The term “perfect” comes from the Greek word “teleios,” which means complete. While “entire,” on the other hand, is translated from the Greek word “holoklēros” and it means to be complete in every part; consummate, a wholeness; nothing that is needed is missing. This is the will of God for you.
In Colossians 4:12, the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, tells us something remarkable. He says, “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Again, the word “perfect” here is the Greek “teleios.” And then Paul introduces another word, “plēroō” (Greek), translated as “complete.”
“Plēroō” means to be full, to be replete or chockful. It also signifies fulfilment, accomplishing a purpose, or bringing something to completion. This raises an important question: chockfull or replete with what?
It brings to mind Paul’s beautiful prayer of the Spirit in Colossians 1:9, that the Christians in Colossae may be filled, replete, with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding: “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”
Then the ensuing verse 10 tells us the reason for this repleteness in the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10). Think about that! God wants you perfect and complete; consummate, whole, replete with the knowledge of His will so that you may live a life that’s worthy of Him, pleases Him in every way, being fruitful in every good work, as you increase in the knowledge of God. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for your Word that transforms and aligns me with your perfect will. As I meditate on your truth, I stand perfect and complete in all that you have planned for my life, guided by your Spirit into fullness and wholeness; I lack nothing and I bring glory to your Name, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

예수님은 하나님의 아들이셨지만, 이 땅에서 그분의 하늘의 영광 안에 살지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 인간으로 사셨습니다. 그래서 예수님은 우리의 대리자이자 본보기가 되실 수 있었습니다. 성경은 예수님을 “사람이신 그리스도 예수라”(딤전 2:5)고 부릅니다. 그분은 사람의 모양으로 나타나셨으며, 이것이 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽은 내용입니다.

HE LIVED AS A MAN

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:5-7).

Even though Jesus was the Son of God, He didn’t live on earth in His heavenly glory. He lived as a man. It’s the reason He could be our substitute and also our example. The Bible calls Him the “man, Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5); He was made in the likeness of men; that’s part of what we read in our opening verse.
It’s the reason He could be tempted (read Matthew 4:1-11, Mark 1:12-13, Luke 4:1-13). Being a man, it was possible for Him to yield to temptation, otherwise, it wouldn’t have been a bona fide temptation. Hebrews 4:14 says, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
Remember, when He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, He said, “…O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt” (Matthew 26:39). So, He felt pain. He was hungry like the rest of us (Matthew 4:2), and He ate food like any man would (Luke 24:42-43). He slept when He felt tired (Mark 4:38). He fasted (Matthew 4:2); He kept the flesh under subjection because He wanted to obey God.
The first Adam fell because he disobeyed God. The second Adam, Jesus Christ, made up His mind to obey God. The Bible says in Philippians 2:8, “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” He wanted us to know how to live and please God. He was our example; He rehearsed the God-life to us. Now we can live as He did—in righteousness, dominion over circumstances and absolute submission to the will of the Father. Glory to God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for making it possible for me to live in dominion over circumstances, and to walk in alignment with your purpose at all times. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I live as Jesus did, in righteousness, pleasing you in all things, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

PERPETUAL PEACE WITH GOD

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

The Amplified Classic renders our opening verse beautifully. It says, “THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” Imagine a life of perpetual peace with God! That’s exactly what Jesus made possible for us.
Through salvation, we’re in oneness with God, in perfect harmony and in sync with Him. He reconciled us to Himself, giving us peace that no religion can offer. This peace is the result of our being justified—acquitted by faith. No enmity between you and God; no hostilities!
Ephesians 2:14-17 says, “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us…so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 says, “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” Observe that it was God working in Christ Jesus, reconciling the world back to Himself, not counting their sins against them. Instead of condemnation, He gave us reconciliation and oneness. Hallelujah!
Now we have access by one Spirit unto the Father (Ephesians 2:18). You’re no longer separated from God. Isn’t that wonderful? Now we live in constant fellowship and peace with Him. Colossians 1:20 says, “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself….” Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for justifying me by faith and giving me peace with you through our Lord Jesus Christ. I live in constant fellowship and oneness with you, free from condemnation, censure, blame, or disapproval. I enjoy the fullness of your peace every day, walking in your love and enjoying fellowship with you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s About Following His Word

“그러나 진리의 성령이 오시면 그가 너희를 모든 진리 가운데로 인도하시리니 그가 스스로 말하지 않고 오직 들은 것을 말하며 장래 일을 너희에게 알리시리라” (요 16:13)

성령님께 순종하려면 그분의 말씀에 순종해야 합니다. 순종은 단순히 어깨를 축 늘어뜨리거나 몸을 웅크리는 것과 같은 육신적인 행동이 아닙니다. 순종은 외적인 행동을 넘어섭니다. 당신이 육신적으로는 순종하는 것처럼 보일지라도, 여전히 속으로는 반항할 수 있습니다. 순종은 심령으로부터 나옵니다.
따라서 주님께 순종한다는 것은 그분이 당신에게 하라고 말씀하신 일에 자신을 내어드리는 것을 의미합니다. 그분의 말씀을 따르는 것입니다. 그분의 말씀을 따르지 않는다면 당신은 진정으로 그분께 순종하는 것이 아닙니다. 그분은 말씀과 하나이시기 때문입니다. 하나님의 완전한 뜻을 지속적으로 이해하고 행하며, 삶의 모든 일에 대한 그분의 판단과 관점을 이해하고 싶다면 성경을 공부하고 묵상하며 하나님의 말씀이 말하는 모든 것을 따르는 것이 필수적입니다.
하나님의 말씀이 당신을 통해 살아가도록, 당신의 생각을 지배하도록 하십시오. 하나님의 말씀이 당신의 마음, 결정, 관점, 상황을 바라보는 방식을 지배하도록 허락할수록 성령님께서 당신의 삶을 더 많이 다스리십니다. 그분은 말씀을 통해 당신을 인도하십니다. 세상에는 너무나 많은 음성이 있지만 주 예수님은 “내 양은 내 음성을 들으며 나는 그들을 알며 그들은 나를 따르느니라”(요 10:27)고 말씀하셨습니다.
또한 이사야 30:21은 말합니다. “너희가 오른쪽으로 치우치든지 왼쪽으로 치우치든지 네 뒤에서 말소리가 네 귀에 들려 이르기를 이것이 바른길이니 너희는 이리로 가라 할 것이며” 당신이 듣는 음성을 어떻게 판단할 수 있습니까? 오직 하나님의 말씀에 대한 지식을 통해서만 그분의 인도를 분별하고 따를 수 있습니다. 그러므로 말씀에 몰두하고 말씀이 당신의 삶의 모든 분야를 지어가게 하십시오.

사랑하는 아버지, 하나님의 말씀은 나의 생각, 결정, 행동을 지배하며, 나의 삶을 하나님의 신성한 뜻에 일치하도록 지어갑니다. 내 마음은 계속해서 하나님의 말씀에 열려 있으며, 하나님의 완전한 뜻의 길로 나를 가르치고 이끌며, 모든 진리로 인도합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

IT’S ABOUT FOLLOWING HIS WORD

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” (John 16:13).

In yielding to the Holy Spirit, you must yield to His Word. To yield isn’t merely a physical act, like dropping your shoulders or curling up in submission. It goes beyond outward behaviour. Even if you physically appear submissive, it’s possible to still be rebellious on the inside. Yielding comes from the heart.
Therfore, yielding to the Lord means to give yourself to what He tells you to do. It’s about following His Word. You aren’t truly yielded to Him if you don’t follow His Word, because He’s one with the Word. If you truly desire to understand and walk in God’s perfect will consistently, as well as grasp His judgments and perspectives on all matters of life, it’s essential to study and meditate on the Scriptures, and follow everything the Word of God says.
Allow the Word of God to live through you and gain mastery over your thinking. The more you allow the Word of God to dominate your mind, your decisions, your perspectives, and the way you see things, the more the Holy Spirit controls your life. He leads you through His Word. There’re so many voices in the world, but the Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27).
Also, Isaiah 30:21 says, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it (Isaiah 30:21). How can you judge the voice that you hear? Only through your knowledge of God’s Word can you discern and follow His leading. So, immerse yourself in the Word and allow it to shape every area of your life.

PRAYER
Dear Father, your Word dominates my thoughts, decisions, and actions, and shapes my life in alignment with your divine will. My heart is continually opened to your Word, to instruct and guide me in the path of your perfect will, guiding me into all truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

An Important Awareness

“내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이런 것들을 씀은 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이며, 또한 너희가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿도록 하려 함이라.” (요일 5:13, 한글 킹제임스)

이 구절은 사도 요한이 사역의 마지막 때에 쓴 것으로 그는 하나님의 자녀들에게 매우 근본적인 것을 상기시켜야 한다고 생각했습니다. 그는 이미 예수 그리스도를 믿는 사람들에게 그들이 영생을 가지고 있음을 “알아야” 함을 반복해서 말했습니다. 여기서 “알다”라는 단어는 그리스어 “에이도(eido)”로 관찰하고 인식한다는 뜻입니다.
하나님께서는 당신이 신성의 유기적이고 실존적인 속성을 가지고 있음을 인식하기 원하십니다. 이 인식은 중요합니다. 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 정체성에 대한 인식은 당신이 사는 방식과 당신이 내리는 결정에 영향을 미치기 때문입니다. 당신의 반응을 형성하고 삶의 결과를 결정합니다. 또한 “… 또한 너희가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿도록 하려 함이라.”는 부분을 주목하십시오.

AN IMPORTANT AWARENESS

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:13).

This verse of scripture was written by the Apostle John towards the closing part of his ministry, and he considered it essential to remind God’s children of something very fundamental. He was addressing those who already believe in Jesus Christ, reiterating that they “know” they have eternal life. The word know is the Greek “eido” which means to observe and become aware.
He wants you to observe and become aware that you have the organic and existential attributes of deity. This awareness is important because your consciousness of your identity in Christ influences the way you live and the decisions you make. It shapes your reactions and determines the outcomes in your life. Also notice the latter part that says, “…and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
There’re two striking things John points attention to: one, observe and become aware that you have the God-life, the God-nature. Secondly, believe on the Name of the Son of God. Why would John write to folks who are already Christians to believe on the Name of the Son of God? It’s because he wants their faith to remain strong and steadfast, unshaken by the circumstances around them.
God knew they would face challenges, so He encourages them to keep trusting and remain confident in God’s Word, no matter what happens. Remember what He said in 1 John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” You’ve already overcome, because the One who lives in you is greater than anything or anyone in the world.
Therefore, keep the Word in your heart. Let your faith remain steadfast. Observe and become aware that you have eternal life; that life is greater than any circumstance or challenge. Trust in it, and live in the consciousness of the victorious life that Christ has given you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the eternal life I have in Christ. I live with the consciousness of this life today, knowing that I am more than a conqueror. I stand firm, unshaken by circumstances, because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Amen.

RULE YOUR WORLD

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).

Think about what we just read in our opening scripture! It means your victory over the adversary is already settled. It’s the result of what Jesus accomplished for us through His death, burial and resurrection. Today, your responsibility is to maintain that victory; rule your world. Take charge. God has given you the dominion and the authority to alter the course of events in the earth, using the Name of Jesus.
Revelation 1:6 tells us something remarkable; it says God has “…made us kings and priests….” Kings rule. Kings exercise dominion and exert authority. Romans 5:17 tells us something equally beautiful; it says, “… they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” That’s your calling: to reign in life through Jesus Christ.
The Bible tells us that God set Jesus Christ in the high place of glory, put all things under His feet, and legally declared Him to be the head over all things for the benefit of the Church: “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all” (Ephesians 1:22-23).
The Church is His body; therefore, if all things have been placed beneath His feet, and you’re part of His body, it means all things have been placed under your feet. Satan, failure, sickness, poverty and death are all under your feet. Glory be to God! You’re seated at the right hand of God in Christ Jesus; that means you’re in the place of divine authority and power. Therefore, reign in life, and rule over circumstances. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, with the authority you have given me, I take charge of my world with confidence and boldness. I enforce your will and purpose in my city and nation, as I side with you in bringing your Word to pass in this world. I declare that your Word prevails in the lives of men, for amplified activities of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“여호와의 말씀이 사무엘에게 임하니라 이르시되 내가 사울을 왕으로 세운 것을 후회하노니 그가 돌이켜서 나를 따르지 아니하며 내 명령을 행하지 아니하였음이니라…” (삼상 15:10-11)

누구든지 하나님의 영으로 인해 갑자기 변화될 수 있습니다. 우리는 성경 시대에도 이런 일이 여러 번 일어나는 것을 보았습니다. 그러나 당신은 말씀에 뿌리를 내리고 믿음 안에 세워져야 합니다. 이것이 변화를 지속할 수 있는 유일한 방법이기 때문입니다.

그러므로 지혜롭게 행하십시오. 말씀에 집중하며 성령님께서 당신의 삶에 가져오시는 역사와 변화를 지속하십시오. 말씀을 행하는 자가 되십시오. 야고보서 1:22은 말합니다. “너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라” 하나님께서 당신의 삶에서 행하시는 모든 일은 지속되고 더 큰 영광으로 성장하도록 되어 있습니다. 그러나 당신이 하나님의 말씀 안에 거할 때만 그렇게 됩니다.

STAY IN THE WORD

“Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments” (1 Samuel 15:10-11).

Anyone can be suddenly transformed by the Spirit of God, and we’ve seen this happen many times, even in Bible days. But you have to stay rooted in the Word, established and founded in the faith, as that’s the only way to sustain such transformation.
In 1 Samuel 10, for example, we read the account of Saul, the son of Kish, who was gloriously transformed by the Spirit of God and he began to prophesy. The Bible says Saul was turned into another man. Read the words of the Prophet Samuel to him in 1 Samuel 10:6, “And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.”
When Saul turned to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart and he began to prophesy among the prophets. This marked the beginning of Saul’s reign as king of Israel. Can you imagine a man receiving another heart, instantly by the power of the Holy Spirit? However, in 1 Samuel 15, just five chapters later, God spoke to Samuel and said, “…It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night” (1 Samuel 15:10-11).
In 1 Chronicles 10:13-14, we learn that Saul died for his transgressions, particularly for not keeping the word of the Lord and for consulting a familiar spirit instead of seeking God. Even though Saul had such a great, miraculous transformation in his life, he didn’t sustain it because he didn’t keep the Word of the Lord.
So, be wise; sustain the work, the transformations that the Holy Spirit brings to your life by staying focused on the Word. Be a doer of the Word. James 1:22 says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Whatever God does in your life is meant to stay and grow into greater glories, but that will only happen if you stay in the Word of God.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the transformative power of the Word and the Spirit in my life. I commit to following you in, through, and by the Word. I stay rooted in your Word, established and founded in the faith, steadfast, resolute, unshakeable, unmoveable, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“그러므로 형제들아 너희가 알 것은 이 사람을 힘입어 죄 사함을 너희에게 전하는 이것이며 또 모세의 율법으로 너희가 의롭다 하심을 얻지 못하던 모든 일에도 이 사람을 힘입어 믿는 자마다 의롭다 하심을 얻는 이것이라” (행 13:38-39)

우리가 방금 읽은 내용은 로마서 3:24을 떠올리게 합니다. 곧 우리가 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭다 하심을 얻었다는 것입니다. 예수 그리스도를 통해 우리는 죄 사함, 곧 죄의 완전한 제거를 받았고, 그분으로 말미암아 모세의 율법으로는 의롭다 하심을 받을 수 없었던 모든 일에 대해 의롭다 하심을 받았습니다.
예수 그리스도 안에서 우리는 의롭게 되었습니다. 이는 우리가 모든 죄와 비난에서 벗어났다는 뜻입니다. 하나님을 송축합니다! 예수님께서 그렇게 만드셨습니다. 예수님은 당신이 그분의 자리를 차지할 수 있도록 당신의 자리를 대신해 주셨습니다. 그리스도 안에서 당신의 자리를 차지하는 것이 바로 기독교입니다.
예수님께서 당신을 위해 포기하신 것을 취하십시오. 그분이 당신에게 주신 자리, 곧 그분 안에 있는 당신의 새로운 자리를 취하십시오. 고린도후서 5:21은 말합니다. “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라.” 당신의 의의 자리를 취하고 아버지의 뜻과 본성을 나타내십시오. 고린도후서 8:9은 말합니다. “우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜를 너희가 알거니와 부요하신 이로써 너희를 위하여 가난하게 되심은 그의 가난함으로 말미암아 너희를 부요하게 하려 하심이라.” 이것이 당신의 새로운 자리, 곧 부요와 풍성함의 자리입니다.

“Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39).

What we just read brings to mind what the Bible says in Romans 3:24, that we’ve been justified freely by grace through the redemption that’s in Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ we’ve received remission of sins, the complete removal of sins, and by Him we’ve been justified from all things, from which we couldn’t be justified by the Law of Moses.
In Jesus Christ, we’ve been justified. That means we’ve been declared acquitted, free from all charges and accusations. Blessed be God! Jesus made it so. He took your place so that you might take His place. Taking your place in Christ is what Christianity is about.
Take what He gave up for you; take the place He has given you—your new place in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Take your place of righteousness and express the will and nature of the Father. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” This is your new place—the place of wealth and abundance.
Also, read Ephesians 2:4 and see your place: “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,…Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us, made us alive together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;).” You’ve been raised up together, and made to sit together in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. This signifies a place of authority; you’re recognized in the heavenly realm as a man or woman of dominion. Blessed be God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the place you’ve given me in Christ—a place of glory, dominion, wealth, abundance, and power! I walk in the consciousness of this reality, expressing your will, nature and purpose as I reign and rule in life, exercising authority over circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

단번에 드려진 희생
A Once-And-For-All Sacrifice

“한 번 죽는 것은 사람들에게 정해진 것이고 그 뒤에는 심판이 있는 것같이 그리스도께서도 많은 사람의 죄들을 담당하시려고 한번 드려지셨고…” (히 9:27-28, 한글 킹제임스)

한글 킹제임스 번역본은 오늘의 본문 구절에서 밑줄 친 부분을 그리스도가 많은 사람들의 죄를 없애기 위해 한때 드려졌다고 말하는 것처럼 보입니다. 그러나 이 구절이 말하는 바는 그런 뜻이 아닙니다. 실제 번역은 그리스도가 인류의 죄를 위해 단번에 영원히 드려졌다는 것입니다. 다른 번역본들은 이를 올바르게 번역합니다. 예를 들어, ESV 번역본은 다음과 같이 말합니다. “한 번 죽는 것은 사람에게 정해진 것이요 그 후에는 심판이 있으리니 이와 같이 그리스도도 많은 사람의 죄를 담당하시려고 단번에 드리신 바 되셨고…”
이는 죄를 위한 또 다른 희생은 없다는 뜻입니다. 죄를 위한 희생은 또 다시 필요하지 않습니다. 예수님은 이미 드려지셨고, 그 한 번의 희생으로 모든 것이 끝났습니다. 할렐루야! 그 희생은 단 한 번으로 영원한 희생이었습니다. 히브리서 9:26은 말합니다. “그는 자신을 희생제물로 드려 죄를 없애시려고 세상 끝에 한 번 나타나셨느니라”(한글 킹제임스) 그분은 다른 것 혹은 다른 사람이 아닌 자신을 희생하셨습니다. 히브리서 10:12-14은 말합니다. “오직 그리스도는 죄를 위하여 한 영원한 제사를 드리시고 하나님 우편에 앉으사… 그가 거룩하게 된 자들을 한 번의 제사로 영원히 온전하게 하셨느니라”
예수님이 오시기 전, 유대인들은 온 민족을 위해 해마다 제사를 드렸습니다. 수많은 어린 양들이 죽임을 당했습니다. 그러나 예수님은 죄 없는 하나님의 어린 양, 즉 완전한 희생 제물로 오셔서 그분께 나아오는 사람들을 완전케 하셨습니다. 침례 요한은 예수님을 보고 “보라 세상 죄를 지고 가는 하나님의 어린 양이로다”(요 1:29) 라고 외쳤습니다.
오늘날 그 누구도 자신의 죄를 위해 스스로를 벌하거나 어떤 형태의 참회를 할 필요가 없습니다. 그리스도께서 우리를 위해 희생되셨습니다. 히브리서 10:4-10은 우리에게 놀라운 통찰력을 줍니다. “이는 황소와 염소의 피가 능히 죄를 없이 하지 못함이라 그러므로 주께서 세상에 임하실 때에 이르시되 하나님이 제사와 예물을 원하지 아니하시고 오직 나를 위하여 한 몸을 예비하셨도다… 이에 내가 말하기를 하나님이여 보시옵소서… 이 뜻을 따라 예수 그리스도의 몸을 단번에 드리심으로 말미암아 우리가 거룩함을 얻었노라”
당신의 희생으로는 결코 충분하지 않을 것입니다. 따라서 당신이 할 수 있는 가장 좋은 일은 당신을 대신한 예수님의 희생을 받아들이는 것입니다. 그분은 단번에 당신을 영원히 완전하게 하셨습니다. “그러므로 형제들아 너희가 알 것은 이 사람을 힘입어 죄 사함을 너희에게 전하는 이것이며 또 모세의 율법으로 너희가 의롭다 하심을 얻지 못하던 모든 일에도 이 사람을 힘입어 믿는 자마다 의롭다 하심을 얻는 이것이라”(행 13:38-39) 하나님을 송축합니다!

기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나를 영원히 거룩하게 하신 완전하고 영원한 예수 그리스도의 희생에 감사드립니다. 나는 예수님의 단번에 영원한 희생으로 말미암아 내가 온전해지고, 의롭다 하심을 받고, 의롭게 되었다는 사실을 알고 기뻐합니다. 나는 예수 그리스도의 의의 충만함과 그분이 나를 위해 얻으신 승리 안에 삽니다. 아멘.

A ONCE-AND-FOR-ALL SACRIFICE

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many…” (Hebrews 9:27-28).

Our underlined portion in the verses above, as rendered in the King James Version, seems to suggest that once upon a time, Christ was offered to take away the sins of many. But that’s not what it’s saying; the actual rendering is that Christ was offered once and for all for the sins of humanity. Some other translations render it correctly, for example, the ESV. It says, “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many…” (Hebrews 9:27-28).
This means there isn’t any other sacrifice for sin; it will never be necessary again. Jesus has already been sacrificed, and with that one sacrifice, it was all done. Hallelujah! It was a once-and-for-all time sacrifice. The preceding verse 26 says “…he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” He was the sacrifice. He sacrificed Himself, not something else, not someone else. Hebrews 10:12-14 says, “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God…For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.” He has perfected you forever through that one sacrifice.
Before Jesus came, the Jews offered sacrifices year after year for the whole nation; so many lambs were slain. But Jesus came as the sinless Lamb of God—the perfect sacrifice, to perfect those who would come to Him. John the Baptist upon seeing Him, cried out, “…Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).
Today, no need for anyone to try to punish themselves or go through any form of penance for their sins. Christ has been sacrificed for us. Hebrews 10:4-10 tells us something remarkably insightful. It says, “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me…Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God… By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
Your own sacrifice will never be enough. Therefore, the best thing to do is to accept the sacrifice of Jesus on your behalf. With that one sacrifice He perfected you forever: “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39). Blessed be God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the perfect and eternal sacrifice that has sanctified me forever. I rejoice knowing that through His once-and-for-all time offering, I am perfected, justified, and made righteous. I live in the fullness of His righteousness, and in the victory He has won for me. Amen.
