“정화하는 불”
“The Fire Of Cleansing”
“나는 너희로 회개를 하게 하기 위하여 물로 세례를 베풀거니와 내 뒤에 오시는 이는 나보다 능력이 많으시니 나는 그의 신을 들기도 감당하지 못하겠노라 그는 성령과 불로 너희에게 세례를 베푸실 것이요”(마 3:11)
성경에서 불은 매우 중요합니다. 성경의 어떤 부분에서는 불이 하나님의 영이자 그분 자신을 나타내는 캐릭터의 상징으로 쓰이곤 했습니다. 하나님은 불타는 덤불의 모습으로 모세에게 나타나셨습니다(출 3:3-5).
예수님이 제자들에게 약속하신 성령이 오셨을 때(행 2:1-4), 성경은 불의 혀처럼 갈라지는 것들이 그들에게 나타나 각 사람 위에 임하였고 그들은 성령으로 충만해졌다고 기록합니다.
우리는 오늘의 본문 구절에서 침례 요한이 성령 침례와 불 침례에 관해 한 말을 읽었습니다. 많은 사람은 요한의 말을 혼동해서 성령의 능력과 성령의 불이 같다는 것을 의미한다고 말합니다. 그러나 그렇지 않습니다. 침례 요한은 예수님이 성령과 불로 침례를 주실 거라고 말했을 때, 거기서의 “불”은 심판에 대한 것입니다.
성령의 불은 정화에 관한 것입니다. 그것은 “심판의 불” 혹은 “정화하는 불”을 일컫습니다. 마태복음 3:12은 말씀합니다. “…자기의 타작 마당을 정하게 하사 알곡은 모아 곳간에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불에 태우시리라” 이는 심판입니다! 우리는 말라기 3:2-3에서도 같은 내용을 보게 됩니다. “그가 임하시는 날을 누가 능히 당하며 그가 나타나는 때에 누가 능히 서리요 그는 금을 연단하는 자의 불과 표백하는 잿물과 같을 것이라 그가 은을 연단하여 깨끗하게 하는 자 같이 앉아서 레위 자손을 깨끗하게 하되 금, 은 같이 그들을 연단하리니 그들이 공의로운 제물을 나 여호와께 바칠 것이라”
성령의 불은 정결케 하는 불입니다. 그것은 당신의 삶에서 불결한 것들을 제거하며 태워버립니다. 그렇기 때문에 당신 안에는 불순물이 없습니다. 그 불은 당신을 깨끗이 씻고, 하나님에게서 온 것이 아닌 모든 것을 제거합니다. 그러므로 당신은 주님이 사용하시기 위해 성결케 됩니다. 당신은 그분께 영광을 드리고 이 땅에 그분의 뜻을 세우기 위한 귀한 그릇입니다. 할렐루야.
고백
나는 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 그리고 우리 하나님의 영으로 말미암아 씻기고 성결케 되고 의롭게 되었습니다! 성령의 불이 모든 더러움으로부터 내 심령을 정화하므로 내 안에 불결함은 없습니다. 나는 하나님의 영광의 광채이며 그분의 의의 표현이 되었습니다. 할렐루야!

“THE FIRE OF CLEANSING”
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me
is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire (Matthew 3:11).
Fire is very significant in Scripture. In some places, it was used to symbolize the Spirit of God and the character in which He operated or manifested Himself. When God revealed Himself to Moses, it was in the burning bush (Exodus 3:3-5).
When the Holy Ghost came in Acts 2:1-4 as Jesus had promised His disciples, the Scriptures record that cloven tongues like as of fire appeared unto them and sat upon each of them, and they were filled with the Holy Ghost.
Then we read the words of John the Baptist in our opening verse above, where he talked about the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire. Now, many have confused John’s statement to mean that both the power of the Holy Ghost, and the fire of the Holy Ghost are synonymous, but they aren’t. When John the Baptist said Jesus shall baptize with the Holy Ghost, and with fire, that “fire” meant judgment. The fire of the Holy Ghost is about cleansing; it’s called, “The fire of Judgment” or “The fire of cleansing.” The Bible says, “…he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12).
That’s judgment! It’s the same thing we see in Malachi 3:2-3: “But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.” Thus, Holy Ghost fire is the fire of purification; it takes away the unclean things from your life; it burns them up, that there be no impurities in you; that fire purifies you, removes everything that’s not of God. Thus, you’re sanctified for the Lord’s use; you’re His vessel unto honour, to bring Him glory, and establish His will in the earth. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
I’m washed, sanctified, justified, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by the Spirit of our God! There’s no uncleanness in me, for the fire of the Holy Ghost purifies my heart from all filthiness. I’ve become the radiance of God’s glory, and the expression of His righteousness. Hallelujah!
