Forever In Safety
“하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라”(요 3:16)
오늘의 본문 구절은 예수 그리스도를 믿는 사람은 누구나 멸망하지 않는다는 것을 알려줍니다. 그리스도 예수를 믿는 믿음을 통한 구원과 영생의 약속은 이 세상 모든 남성, 여성, 소년, 소녀에게 그들의 배경과 국적과 과거와 상관없이 열려 있습니다.
또한 “멸망하지 않는다”는 문구에 주목하십시오. 이는 법적 표현입니다. 하나님께서는 예수님을 믿는 사람은 누구나 어떤 상황에 처해 있든 멸망하지 않아야 한다는 법을 제정하셨습니다. 예수님의 말씀을 항상 생각하십시오. 자주 “나는 예수 그리스도를 믿습니다. 전능하신 하나님께서 제정하신 법은 내가 결코 멸망하지 않는다고 말합니다. 그러므로 지금과 영원토록, 어디에 있든지 안전합니다. 나는 멸망에서 벗어났습니다!”라고 선포하십시오.
시편 기자는 우리에게 이렇게 말합니다. “천 명이 네 왼쪽에서, 만 명이 네 오른쪽에서 엎드러지나 이 재앙이 네게 가까이 하지 못하리로다 오직 너는 똑똑히 보리니 악인들의 보응을 네가 보리로다”(시 91:7-8) 확대번역본은 이 구절을 더욱 아름답게 번역합니다. “천 명이 네 곁에 쓰러지고 만 명이 네 오른편에 쓰러지더라도 그것이 네게 가까이 오지 않을 것이다. 너는 악한 자들의 결과를 목격할 때 [지극히 높으신 분의 은밀한 장소에서 그것에 접근하지 못하고] 단지 구경꾼이 될 것이다.”
아무리 큰 홍수가 나고, 맹렬한 불이 나더라도 상관없습니다. 당신을 상대로 만들어진 무기가 무엇이든 상관없습니다. 당신은 해치거나 묶는 모든 것으로부터 분리되었습니다. 예수님께서 “너희를 해칠 자가 결코 없으리라”(눅 10:19)고 말씀하신 것은 당연합니다. 그런 효력이 있는 성령의 법이 있습니다!
당신은 이 세상의 저하시키는 힘, 부패하게 하는 영향력, 사람들의 삶을 파괴하는 것으로부터 분리되었습니다. 당신은 그리스도 안에 있기 때문입니다. 그분 안에서 당신은 영원히 안전합니다. 당신의 생명은 하나님 안에 그리스도와 함께 감추어져 있기 때문입니다(골 3:3). 할렐루야!

FOREVER IN SAFETY
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Our opening verse implies that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is severed from perishing. The offer of salvation and promise of eternal life through faith in Christ Jesus is open to every man, woman, boy and girl in this world—regardless of their background, nationality or past actions.
Also, notice the phrase, “should not perish”; it’s a legal expression: God has enacted a law that anybody who believes in Jesus, should not perish. Let the words of Jesus in this verse always come to your mind. Every so often, declare, “I believe in Jesus Christ, and there’s an order, a law enacted by God that I should never perish. Therefore, now and forever, everywhere I find myself, I’m in safety; I’m separated from perishing!”
The psalmist tells us, “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked” (Psalm 91:7-8). The Amplified Classic renders it even more beautifully: “A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.”
It doesn’t matter how strong the flood is, or how fierce the fire may be. It doesn’t matter the weapons fashioned against you; you’ve been separated from everything that hurts or binds. No wonder Jesus said, “Nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). There’s a law of the Spirit to that effect!
You’ve been detached from the debilitating effects and corrupting influences of this world, from the things that ruin men’s lives, because you’re in Christ. In Him, you’re in safety forever because your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
Blessed be God! My life is hid with Christ in God! I’m detached from the destructive forces of this world, severed from perishing because I believe in Jesus Christ. I walk in blessings, divine protection, joy, and peace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
