하나님의 의의 빛
The Light Of His Righteousness
“이는 너희가 흠이 없고 순전하여 어그러지고 거스르는 세대 가운데서 하나님의 흠 없는 자녀로 세상에서 그들 가운데 빛들로 나타내며”(빌 2:15)
주 예수님께서는 마태복음 5:14에서 “너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요” 라고 말씀하셨습니다. 이는 우리가 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽은 내용과 동일합니다. 이사야 60:2을 보면 이사야 선지자가 이렇게 예언합니다. “보라 어둠이 땅을 덮을 것이며 캄캄함이 만민을 가리려니와 오직 여호와께서 네 위에 임하실 것이며 그의 영광이 네 위에 나타나리니”
그리스도 예수 안에서 주님의 영광이 우리 안에 거합니다. 그래서 말씀은 우리가 그분의 영광이라고 선포합니다! 우리는 어둡고 냉소적인 세상에서 그분의 의의 빛입니다. 할렐루야! 세상에 있는 어둠과 문제들이 무엇이든지 상관없습니다. 당신은 세상이 필요로 하는 소망이자 해결책입니다.
요한복음 9:5에서는 주 예수님께서 다음과 같이 말씀하십니다. “내가 세상에 있는 동안에는 세상의 빛이로라” 그리고 요한일서 4:17은 말합니다. “이로써 사랑이 우리에게 온전히 이루어진 것은 우리로 심판 날에 담대함을 가지게 하려 함이니 주께서 그러하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러하니라” 오늘날 세상에 있는 문제와 어려움은 당신이 하나님의 의의 영광과 빛을 발하고 나타낼 기회입니다.
당신이 세상에 있는 한 당신은 세상의 빛입니다. 빛은 방향을 제시합니다. 당신은 이 어둠 속에서 어떻게 살아야 하는지, 무엇을 해야 하는지, 어떻게 성공할 수 있는지를 세상에 보여주는 사람입니다. 예수님께서는 요한복음 8:12에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “… 나를 따르는 자는 어둠에 다니지 아니하고 생명의 빛을 얻으리라”
다시 이사야 선지자의 말이 기억납니다. “흑암에 행하던 백성이 큰 빛을 보고 사망의 그늘진 땅에 거주하던 자에게 빛이 비치도다”(사 9:2) 당신을 통해 사람들은 이 위대한 빛을 보고 있습니다. 그들을 어둠에서 빛으로, 사탄의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아오게 하는 것이 당신의 사역입니다(행 26:18).
하나님의 의의 빛보다 더 위대한 빛은 없습니다. 그리고 우리는 그분의 의를 전달하는 자입니다. 우리는 땅끝까지 복음의 빛을 전합니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!
고백
나는 하나님의 의를 전하는 자입니다. 나는 내게 맡기신 복음의 빛을 가지고 땅끝까지 갑니다. 나를 통해 세상은 말씀을 듣고 복음의 빛을 받아들이며, 어둠에서 빛으로 돌이켜 왕국의 빛 안에 있는 그들의 유업을 상속받습니다. 아멘.

THE LIGHT OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS
“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15).
In Mathew 5:14, the Lord Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” It bears comparison to what we read in our opening scripture. In Isaiah 60:2, the prophet prophesied, “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:2).
In Christ Jesus, the glory of the Lord is resident in us; so much so that the Word declares that we are His glory! We’re the light of His righteousness in a dark and cynical world. Hallelujah! It makes no difference what the darkness and problems in the world are, you’re the hope and the solution that the world needs.
The Lord Jesus said in John 9:5, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 1 John 4:17 says, “…as he is, so are we in this world.” The problems and hardships in the world today are your opportunities to shine and manifest the glory and light of His righteousness.
As long as you’re in the world, you’re the light of the world. Light gives direction. You’re the one to show the world how to live, what to do, and how to be successful in the midst of the darkness. In John 8:12, Jesus said, “…anyone who follows me shall not walk in darkness but he shall have the light of life.”
Again, it brings to mind the words of the Prophet Isaiah, “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined” (Isaiah 9:2). Yes, through you, they’re seeing this great light. That’s your ministry—to turn them—from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18).
There’s no greater light than the light of His righteousness and we’re the bearers of His righteousness—taking the light of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Praise God!
CONFESSION
I’m the bearer of His righteousness—taking the light of the Gospel, which has been committed to my trust, to the ends of the earth. Through me, the world hears the Word and receives the light of the Gospel, and are turned from darkness to light, and catapulted into their inheritance in the Kingdom of Light. Amen.
