Proclaim His Love And Grace
“곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라”(고후 5:19)
오늘의 본문 구절은 바울이 쓴 서신서 중 심오한 구절 중 하나입니다. 이 구절은 모든 사람을 향한 아버지의 사랑, 강력하고 영원한 사랑의 위대함을 나타냅니다! 생각해 보십시오. 하나님은 그리스도 안에 계셨고, (그리스도인이 아닌) 죄인들의 세상을 그분과 화해시키셨고, 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 않으셨습니다. 정말 놀랍습니다!
사람들은 예수님이 하나님이시며, 십자가에서 죄와 죄인들의 자리를 담당하셨다는 것을 깨닫지 못합니다. 그분은 사람들을 향한 사랑으로 가장 처참한 고통과 형벌을 받아들이셨습니다.
이는 이사야 선지자가 이사야 53:2-3에서 예수님에 대해 어떻게 설명했는지 생각나게 합니다. 이사야 선지자는 그분께서 고운 모양도 없고 풍채도 없고 사람들이 보기에 흠모할 만한 아름다운 것이 없다고 설명했습니다. 또한 마치 사람들이 그분께 얼굴을 가리는 것 같이 멸시를 당하시고 존중받지 못하신다고 말했습니다.
그러나 세상은 우주의 창조주, 우리 한 사람 한 사람을 만드신 분이 그들을 위해 십자가에 달리신 분이라는 사실을 몰랐습니다. 사람들은 그분을 알아보지 못했습니다. 사람들은 그분의 임재를 인식하지 못했습니다. 그래서 주님은 그분의 사랑을 선포하도록 우리를 보내셨습니다.
온 세상은 예수님이 하나님의 사랑의 화신이라는 것을 알아야 합니다. 예수님은 인류를 그분과 화해시키기 위해 보냄 받으셨고, 사람들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 않으셨습니다. 심지어 가장 악한 범죄자도 하나님의 사랑을 받습니다. 그분은 누구에게도 분노나 원한을 품지 않으십니다.
성경은 하나님께서 아무도 멸망하지 않고 모두 회개하기에 이르기를 원하신다고 말합니다(벧후 3:9). 이 메시지를 선포하는 것이 우리의 의무입니다. 예수님이 어떤 분이신지 알리고, 그분의 사랑과 희생의 가치를 선포하는 것입니다. 하나님의 사랑과 은혜의 복음을 선포하는 것은 우리의 책임입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 하나님의 사랑과 은혜의 복음을 내게 맡겨주시니 감사합니다. 내가 아버지의 사랑에 관한 진리를 담대히 선포할 때, 많은 사람이 진리를 듣고 아버지의 사랑의 아들의 왕국으로 옮겨져 아버지께서 그들을 위해 예비하신 영광스러운 유업 가운데 살게 됩니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

PROCLAIM HIS LOVE AND GRACE
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).
This is one of the most profound verses in the Pauline epistles. It unveils the magnitude of the Father’s love for all men, His overwhelming and everlasting love! Think about it: God was in Christ, reconciling the world of sinners (not Christians) to Himself, not counting their sins against them. Amazing!
Most don’t realize the truth that Jesus was God, taking the place of sin and sinful man on the Cross. He accepted the most gruesome pain and punishment for the love of man.
It brings to mind how the prophet Isaiah described Him in Isaiah 53:2-3. He explained that He had no form or comeliness, no royal or kingly pomp that they should look at Him. There was no beauty that they should desire Him. He was described as one from whom men hid their faces; despised and unesteemed.
Yet, the world didn’t know that the Creator of the universe, the One who had made each and every one of us, was the one who hung on that Cross in their behalf. They failed to recognize Him; they were oblivious to His presence. But that’s why He sent us to proclaim His love.
The whole world needs to know that Jesus is the embodiment of God’s love, sent to reconcile humanity to Himself, not holding their sins against them. Even the vilest offender is loved by God. He harbours no anger or resentment for anyone.
The Bible says He’s not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). It’s our duty to proclaim this message: to reveal who Jesus is, to declare His love and the worth of His sacrifice. It’s our responsibility to proclaim this Gospel of His love and grace.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for entrusting me with the Gospel of your love and grace. As I boldly proclaim the truth of your love many hear and are translated into the Kingdom of your Love-Son to walk in the glorious inheritance you’ve prepared for them, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
