Building His Character Into Your Spirit
“내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 누구든지 이 산더러 들리어 바다에 던져지라 하며 그 말하는 것이 이루어질 줄 믿고 마음에 의심하지 아니하면 그대로 되리라”(막 11:23)
어떤 사람들은 우리가 하나님의 말씀을 고백하는 목적을 오해합니다. 예를 들어, “나는 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 의입니다”라고 말하면, 그들은 우리가 죄인들에게 마치 성도인 것처럼 말하게 한다고 생각합니다. 아닙니다! 우리는 말하는 대로 되기 위해서 “노력”하며 그러한 선포를 하는 것이 아닙니다. 우리는 영적 진리를 말하는 것입니다.
우리의 고백은 하나님께서 이미 우리에 대하여 말씀하신 바에 근거합니다. 하나님은 그분께서 말씀하신 것은 무엇이든지 우리가 그분과 일치해서 동일한 것을 담대히 말하게 하셨습니다. 이것은 영적인 법칙입니다. 히브리서 13:5-6은 말합니다. “… 그가 친히 말씀하시기를… 그러므로 우리가 담대히 말하되…”
이 말씀을 어떻게 적용하는지 이해하십시오. 하나님의 말씀은 당신의 영 안에서 그분 자신과 그분의 성품을 세워가기 위한 재료입니다. 우리는 새로운 탄생 때 하나님의 본성을 받지만, 여전히 자신의 성품을 가지고 있습니다. 그로 인해 어떤 사람들은 새로운 피조물의 실재와 자신의 성품을 어떻게 조화시킬지 혼란스러워 합니다.
그러나 이것이 바로 성경이 우리에게 하나님의 말씀으로 마음을 새롭게 하라고 말하는 이유입니다. 먼저 당신은 말씀을 들어야 하고, 그 말씀을 받아들이고 지지하며 고백해야 합니다. 하나님의 말씀을 고백할 때, 당신은 영 안에 하나님의 성품을 창조하고 그분처럼 생각하게 됩니다.
하나님은 우리가 생각할 수 있는 기록된 말씀을 주셨습니다. 하나님은 당신이 말씀을 생각하면 말씀을 말하게 되고, 말씀을 말하면 말씀을 행하게 될 것임을 아십니다! 이것이 왕국의 법칙입니다. 당신은 자신이 말하는 대로 그런 존재입니다. 따라서 계속해서 하나님의 말씀을 고백하여 당신의 영 안에 그분의 성품을 지어가십시오.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내 영 안에 하나님의 성품을 세우는 재료인 말씀을 주시니 감사합니다. 말씀 안에서 믿음 충만한 고백을 통해 어떻게 계속 승리하는 삶을 살 수 있는지 보여주심에 감사드립니다. 나는 삶의 모든 부정적인 것들을 승리하며 다스립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

BUILDING HIS CHARACTER INTO YOUR SPIRIT
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23).
Some people misunderstand our purpose for affirming God’s Word. When you tell them, for example, to say, “I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus”; they think we’re trying to make sinners talk as though they are saints. No! We’re not making such declarations because we’re “trying” to be what we’re saying, no; we’re stating spiritual truth.
Our confessions are based on what God already said about us in His Word. He said whatever He said, so that we may boldly say the same thing in agreement with Him. It’s a spiritual law: Hebrews 13:5-6, “… for he hath said…So that we may boldly say….”
Understand how this works: The Word of God is God’s material for building Himself and His character into your spirit. First, we receive His nature at the New Birth, but you still have your character, and because of that, some people are at a loss as to how to reconcile the realities of the new creation life with their own character.
But that’s why the Bible tells us to renew our minds with the Word of God; you meditate on the Word. But first, you have to hear the Word, then you accept and endorse it, and confess it. When you confess the Word of God, you create the character of God in your spirit so that you think like Him.
God gave us the written Word for us to think upon. He knows that if you think the Word, you’ll talk the Word, and if you talk the Word, you’ll walk the Word! That’s the principle of the Kingdom. You’re what you say. Therefore, keep confessing the Word of God, and thus build His character into your spirit.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the Word, the material for building your character into my spirit. Thank you for showing me the way to a life of continuous victory through my faith-filled confessions in the Word! I reign triumphantly over all the negativities of life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
