예수님은 우리에게 모든 것을 주셨습니다
He Gave Us EVERYTHING
“우리 생명이신 그리스도께서 나타나실 그 때에 너희도 그와 함께 영광 중에 나타나리라”(골 3:4)
예수님은 요한복음 5:26에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “아버지께서 자기 속에 생명이 있음 같이 아들에게도 생명을 주어 그 속에 있게 하셨고” 이는 예수님이 고유한 생명, 곧 신성한 본성을 소유하셨음을 의미합니다. 그분은 “너희가 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고 내가 아버지 안에 있음을 깨달아 알리라 하시니”(요 10:38)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 이것은 매우 특별한 말씀입니다.
이것이 바로 하나님께서 우리에게 원하시는 바이며, 인간을 창조하신 그분의 목적이었습니다. 그래서 하나님은 인간 안에 계시고, 인간은 그분 안에 있는 것입니다. 따라서 당신은 초월적인 존재, 즉 하나님의 복제품 혹은 거울에 비친 모습이 되는 것입니다. 할렐루야!
그리스도를 영접하고 그분과 합할 때, 당신은 그리스도와 하나가 됩니다. 성경은 말합니다. “주와 합하는 자는 한 영이니라”(고전 6:17) 이러한 그리스도와의 하나됨은 당신을 초자연적인 존재로 만듭니다. 당신이 생물학적 부모에게서 태어났을 때 받은 인간적인 생명이 그분의 신성한 생명으로 대체되었기 때문입니다.
이제 당신이 거듭났으니 당신이 가진 것은 그리스도의 생명입니다. 그러므로 오늘의 본문 구절은 그리스도가 당신의 생명이라고 말합니다. 요한일서 5:11-12은 말합니다. “또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라” 하나님을 송축합니다!
위 구절에서 사도 요한이 말한 것은 영원한 생명입니다. 누구든지 하나님의 아들이신 예수님을 자기 안으로 모셨다면 그는 영원한 생명을 가지고 있는 것입니다. 그리고 그분이 영원한 생명을 주셨다면 사실 그분 자신을 당신에게 주신 것입니다. 그분이 영원한 생명 그 자체이시기 때문입니다. “또 아는 것은 하나님의 아들이 이르러 우리에게 지각을 주사 우리로 참된 자를 알게 하신 것과 또한 우리가 참된 자 곧 그의 아들 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 것이니 그는 참 하나님이시요 영생이시라”(요일 5:20) 할렐루야!
바로 이것이 복음입니다! 예수님은 자신의 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨습니다! 예수님은 우리에게 그분의 이름과 의와 생명을 주셨습니다. 성경은 우리가 그분과 함께 한 공동 상속자라고 말하며(롬 8:17), 그분이 그러하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러하다고 말합니다(요일 4:17).
고백
주 예수님, 나에게 모든 것을 주셨음에 감사드립니다! 예수님은 나에게 그분의 이름, 의, 생명을 주셨습니다. 이제 나는 하나님과 같은 종류의 사람이며, 하나님의 상속자이자 예수님과 함께 한 공동 상속자이고, 주께서 그러하심과 같이 이 세상에서 그러합니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

HE GAVE US EVERYTHING
“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” (Colossians 3:4).
In John 5:26, Jesus said, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself”, meaning that Jesus had inherent life: the very divine nature. He said, “I want you to know and believe that the Father is in me and I in Him” (John 10:38). This is simply extraordinary.
This is the very thing that God wants for us; this was His purpose for creating man, so that He’d be in man and man would be in Him, so you’d become a super being—the facsimile or reflection of God. Hallelujah!
When you receive Christ, and are joined to Him, you become one with Him. The Bible says, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). This oneness with Christ makes you supernatural, because His divine life supplanted the human life with which you were born of your biological parents.
So, now that you’re born again, what you have is the Christ-life. Hence our theme verse says Christ is your life. Then 1 John 5:11-12 (NIV) says, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” Blessed be God!
Now, what the apostle John is referring to in the verses above is eternal life. Anyone who has Jesus, the Son of God, has eternal life. But then, in giving you eternal life, He actually gave you Himself, because He is Himself eternal life: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20). Hallelujah!
This is the Gospel! Jesus gave us EVERYTHING that He is! He gave us His Name, He gave us His righteousness, and He gave us His life. The Bible says we’re joint-heirs with Him (Romans 8:17; as He is so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).
CONFESSION
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for giving me EVERYTHING! You gave me your Name, you gave me your righteousness, and you gave me your life. Now I’m an associate of the God-kind, an heir of God and a joint-heir with you; as you are, so am I in this world. Blessed be God!
