우리는 하나님의 놀라운 빛 안에 있습니다
We’re In His Marvellous Light
“그러나 너희는 선택받은 민족이요 왕 같은 제사장이며, 구별되어 헌신된 나라요, [하나님께서] 친히 사신 특별한 백성이니, 이는 너희를 어두움에서 불러내어 그의 놀라운 빛으로 들어가게 하신 분의 경이로운 행위를 내세우고 그분의 덕과 완벽함을 내보이게 하려 하심이라”(벧전 2:9, 확대번역본)
하나님이 하시는 모든 일에는 탁월한 끝이 있습니다. 그분은 결코 우리를 궁지로 내몰거나 불확실한 상태에 내버려 두지 않으십니다. 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽은 내용을 생각해 보십시오. 후반부 내용은 하나님께서 우리를 어두움에서 불러내어 그분의 놀라운 빛으로 들어가게 하셨다고 말합니다.
이는 신명기 6:23이 떠오르게 합니다. “우리 조상들에게 맹세하신 땅을 우리에게 주어 들어가게 하시려고 우리를 거기서 인도하여 내시고” 하나님은 우리를 어둠에서 불러내시고 그분의 놀라운 빛으로 들어가게 하셨습니다. 이제 우리는 그분의 놀라운 빛 안에 있습니다. 우리는 그분의 놀라운 빛으로 가고 있는 중이 아닙니다.
골로새서 1:13에서도 비슷한 내용을 볼 수 있습니다. “그가 우리를 흑암의 권세에서 건져내사 그의 사랑의 아들의 나라로 옮기셨으니” 그분은 우리가 어둠의 영역이나 관할권에 있지 않다는 것을 알려주십니다. 우리는 하나님의 사랑의 아들의 왕국으로 옮겨졌습니다. 그곳이 우리의 주소지입니다. 할렐루야!
신명기 6:23에서 “… 우리에게 주어 들어가게 하시려고 우리를 거기서 인도하여 내시고”라는 부분에서 “거기서”는 이집트를 뜻합니다. 이집트는 이 세상을 상징했습니다. 또한 어둠을 상징했습니다. 어둠(이 세상)에서 우리를 불러내신 하나님의 목적은 그분의 왕국으로 데려가시는 것이었습니다. 그분의 초점은 우리가 어둠에서 나오는 것에 있지 않습니다. 그러므로 우리가 어둠 속에 나온 것이 아닌 하나님의 놀라운 빛 안에 있다는 것을 기뻐해야 합니다.
사도행전 26:18에서 주님이 바울에게 말씀하신 내용 역시 비슷한 맥락입니다. “그 눈을 뜨게 하여 어둠에서 빛으로, 사탄의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아오게 하고…” 우리는 다시 한번 하나님의 목적을 확인할 수 있습니다. 어둠에서 빛으로, 사탄의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아오게 하는 것이었습니다. 그리고 하나님은 그 목적을 성취하셨습니다! 당신은 이제 하나님의 놀라운 빛 안에 있으며 그 빛은 어둠을 몰아냅니다.
기도
나는 하나님의 사랑의 아들의 왕국에서 나의 영광스러운 삶을 기뻐하며 그분의 빛과 통치 안에서 영원히 기뻐합니다! 나는 그리스도와 함께 앉아있고 의를 통해 은혜로 영광스럽게 빛나고 다스립니다. 내 삶은 영광, 승리, 성공, 번영, 복된 확신의 여정입니다. 할렐루야!

WE’RE IN HIS MARVELLOUS LIGHT
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” (1 peter 2:9)
Everything God does has an end—an excellent end. He never leaves us hanging or in limbo. Think about what we just read in our theme verse: the latter part says He called us out of darkness into His marvellous light.
It reminds of the scripture in Deuteronomy 6:23, “And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.” He brought us out of darkness, to bring us into His marvellous light. We’re now in His marvellous light; we’re not journeying into His marvellous light.
In Colossians 1:13, we read something similar; it says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13). He lets us know that we’re not in the arena, the realm or the jurisdiction of darkness; we’ve been transferred into the Kingdom of God’s Love-Son. That’s your place of domicile. Hallelujah!
In Deuteronomy 6:23 where it says, “He brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in….” By “thence” He was referring to Egypt. Egypt was symbolic of the world; it symbolized darkness. His purpose for bringing us out of darkness (the world) was to bring us into His Kingdom. His focus wasn’t our coming out of darkness; so the celebration isn’t that we’re out of darkness but that we’re in His marvellous light.
Another thought along the same line is in what the Lord said to Paul in Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God….” Again, we see God’s purpose: it’s to turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God and He’s fulfilled it! You’re in His marvellous light now and that light dispels darkness.
CONFESSION
I celebrate my glorious life in the Kingdom of God’s Love-Son, rejoicing in His Light and dominion forever! I’m enthroned with Christ, and I shine and reign gloriously by grace, through righteousness. My journey in life is one of glory, triumph, success, prosperity, and blessed assurance. Hallelujah!
