예수님은 십자가에서 우리가 되셨습니다
He Became Us On The Cross
“그리스도께서도 단번에 죄를 위하여 죽으사 의인으로서 불의한 자를 대신하셨으니 이는 우리를 하나님 앞으로 인도하려 하심이라 육체로는 죽임을 당하시고 영으로는 살리심을 받으셨으니”(벧전 3:18)
예수 그리스도가 우리를 위해 십자가에 못 박히셨다는 사실을 정말로 알고 계십니까? 예수님은 실제로 십자가에서 우리가 되셨습니다. 예수님은 우리의 죄뿐만 아니라 우리의 죄의 본성도 담당하셨습니다. 그러므로 성경은 “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라”(고후 5:21)고 말합니다.
예수님은 우리의 죄를 담당하셨고, 그로 인해 죄가 되셨습니다. 이는 예수님이 십자가에 못 박히셨을 때, 우리는 정말로 그 십자가에 있었다는 뜻입니다. 예수님은 우리의 대표자일 뿐만 아니라 우리의 대리자이셨습니다. 우리의 죄가 예수님의 영에 놓여졌습니다. 그분은 우리의 본성을 취하시고 우리 자리를 대신해 주셨습니다.
이 일에 대해서는 법적인 부분이 있고, 또 본질적인 부분이 있습니다. 그분은 합법적으로 당신의 대표자이셨고, 본질적으로 십자가에 달린 당신이셨습니다. 그렇다면 이 모든 것이 의미하는 바는 무엇입니까? 그분이 당신의 자리와 본성을 가져가셨다면, 이제 당신이 그분의 자리와 본성을 가졌다는 뜻입니다. 예수님은 당신이 그분의 자리를 취할 수 있도록 당신의 자리를 취하셨습니다.
따라서 이는 그분은 죄가 없으셨기 때문에 당신이 거듭났을 때 그분의 죄 없는 본성을 갖게 됨을 뜻합니다. 그렇다면 베드로전서 2:9에서 “그러나 너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕 같은 제사장들이요 거룩한 나라요…”라고 말하는 이유를 이제 이해할 수 있게 됩니다. 이 구절이 당신을 거룩하다고 말하고 있음을 보셨습니까?
이것은 당신을 위한 예수 그리스도의 희생과 대속 사역의 결과입니다. 예수님은 당신의 죄의 본성을 가져가시고 당신을 거룩하게 만드셨습니다. 이제 당신은 거룩한 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 할렐루야!
가장 아름다운 부분은 예수님이 우리의 자리와 본성을 취하신 사실 자체보다 그분이 그 일을 행하신 목적입니다. 바로 그분의 자리와 본성을 주시기 위함이었습니다. 에베소서 2:4-6은 너무나 아름답습니다. “긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑을 인하여 허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 (너희는 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이라) 또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 하늘에 앉히시니”
예수님은 우리에게 그분의 영광, 통치권, 능력, 존귀, 위엄의 자리를 주시고, 그분의 신성한 본성에 참여하는 자가 되게 하셨습니다. 예수님이 의로우신 것처럼 당신도 의롭습니다. 당신은 예수님과 동일한 생명을 가지고 있습니다. “또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라”(요일 5:11-12) 하나님을 송축합니다!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나를 위한 예수 그리스도의 희생과 대속 사역에 감사드립니다. 이로 인해 하나님의 의가 내 영에 주어졌습니다. 이제 나는 믿음으로 의롭다 하심을 받았고, 주 예수 그리스도를 통해 죄와 환경을 다스리는 통치권을 가지고 하나님과 함께 화평의 삶을 살게 되었습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HE BECAME US ON THE CROSS
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit” (1 Peter 3:18).
Has it really dawned on you that Jesus Christ was crucified for us? He actually became us on the Cross. Not only did He bear our sins, He also bore our very nature of sin. That’s why the Bible says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus was our sin-bearer and thus was made sin; meaning that we were literally on that Cross when Jesus was crucified. He wasn’t only our representative, He was our substitute; our sins were laid on His spirit. He took our nature and took our place.
There’s the legal aspect and there’s the vital aspect. He was legally your representative and vitally you on the Cross. So, now, what’s the implication of all these? If He took your place and nature, it means you now have His place and nature as well. He took your place so that you might take His place.
Therefore, since He was sinless, that means you have His sinless nature now that you’re born again. Now you can understand why the Bible says in 1 Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation….” Did you notice that it says you’re holy?
It’s the result of the sacrifice and substitutionary work of Jesus Christ in your behalf. He took your sin-nature and made you holy. Now you can live a holy life. Hallelujah!
The most beautiful part isn’t that He took our place and our nature but His purpose for doing it. It was to give us His place and His nature. Ephesians 2:4-6 is so beautiful; it says, “But God, who is rich in mercy…hath quickened us together with Christ…And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
He gave us His place of glory, dominion, power, honour and majesty, and made us partakers of His divine nature. Today, you’re as righteous as Jesus is righteous. You have the same life with Him: “And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1 John 5:11-12). Blessed be God!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the sacrifice and substitutionary work of Jesus Christ in my behalf, for which the righteousness of God has been imparted to my spirit. Now, I’ve been justified by faith and ushered into a life of peace with you through the Lord Jesus Christ, with dominion over sin and circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
