그분의 의의 우월성
The Supremacy Of His Righteousness
“한 사람의 범죄로 말미암아 사망이 그 한 사람을 통하여 왕 노릇 하였은즉 더욱 은혜와 의의 선물을 넘치게 받는 자들은 한 분 예수 그리스도를 통하여 생명 안에서 왕 노릇 하리로다”(롬 5:17)
저는 바울이 빌립보서 3:9에서 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암아 얻는 의의 우월성에 대해 말한 내용을 좋아합니다. 바울은 이렇게 말했습니다. “… 그리스도를 얻고 그 안에서 발견되려 함이니 내가 가진 의는 율법에서 난 것이 아니요 오직 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암은 것이니 곧 믿음으로 그리스도께로부터 난 의라”(빌 3:8-9)
당신이 자신의 삶에 대한 예수님의 주되심을 고백했을 때, 그 즉시 예수님의 의가 당신에게 주어졌습니다. 그리스도의 의는 그 어떤 흠도 없습니다. 당신이 가지고 있는 의는 그런 의입니다. 그 의는 완전하므로 더 나아질 것이 없습니다. 당신이 오늘 하는 어떤 일도 당신을 하나님 앞에 더 혹은 덜 의롭게 만들 수 없습니다.
하나님께서 당신을 보실 때, 그분은 그리스도의 의를 보십니다. 그래서 바울은 갈라디아서 2:20에서 “내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔나니 그런즉 이제는 내가 사는 것이 아니요 오직 내 안에 그리스도께서 사시는 것이라 이제 내가 육체 가운데 사는 것은 나를 사랑하사 나를 위하여 자기 자신을 버리신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음 안에서 사는 것이라”고 말한 것입니다. 당신이 지금 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음으로 살고 있는 것처럼, 당신은 더 이상 자신의 의로 살고 있지 않습니다. 당신은 예수 그리스도의 의로 살고 있습니다.
주 예수님은 하나님 앞에 의로우시며, 동정녀에게 나셨으므로 유일하게 죄 없이 태어나 우리의 대속자가 되실 자격이 있는 오직 한 분이십니다.
로마서 4:25은 말합니다. “예수는 우리가 범죄한 것 때문에 내줌이 되고 또한 우리를 의롭다 하시기 위하여 살아나셨느니라” 이어서 로마서 5:1은 말합니다. “그러므로 우리가 믿음으로 의롭다 하심을 받았으니 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님과 화평을 누리자” 여기서 “의롭다 하심을 받았다”는 뜻은 당신이 죄를 지은 적이 없는 사람처럼 의롭다고 선포된 것을 뜻합니다. 당신에게서 어떤 혐의도 찾을 수 없기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!
오늘날 당신이 의로워지기 위해 애쓰고 있었다면, 당신은 어디에도 도착할 수 없는 여행을 하고 있는 것과 다름이 없습니다. 우리 스스로 의를 얻을 수 없습니다. 그래서 하나님께서 우리에게 그분의 의를 주셨습니다. 예수님이 의로우신 것처럼 당신도 의롭습니다. 당신의 죄의 본성이 그분의 의로 대체되었고, 새로운 탄생으로 영생을 주셨습니다. 할렐루야!
고백
의로워지고, 의롭게 행하고, 의의 열매와 일들을 행하는 능력은 내 영 안에 있습니다. 나는 예수 그리스도의 의로 삽니다. 따라서 나는 예수님이 의로우신 것처럼 의롭습니다. 할렐루야!

THE SUPREMACY OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ)” (Romans 5:17).
I love what Paul said in Philippians 3:9, referring to the supremacy of the righteousness which is by faith in Jesus Christ. He said, “…that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”
When you confessed the Lordship of Jesus over your life, instantly, His righteousness was imparted to you. The righteousness of Christ is flawless: that’s the righteousness you have. It’s perfect and therefore can’t be improved upon. Nothing you do today will make you more righteous or less righteous before God.
When God looks at you, He sees the righteousness of Christ. That’s why Paul said in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Just as you’re now living by the faith of the Son of God, you’re no longer living by your own righteousness; you’re living by the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus was righteous before God, and He was the only one who qualified to be our substitute, being the only One who was born sinless, because He was born of a virgin.
Romans 4:25 tells us that He “…was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” This is followed by Romans 5:1 which says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” To be “justified” means to be declared righteous as though you never sinned, because no charges were found against you. Hallelujah!
Today, if you’ve been struggling to be righteous, you’re on a journey to nowhere. We couldn’t attain righteousness by ourselves, that’s why God gave us His own righteousness. You’re as righteous as Jesus is righteous, because He substituted His righteousness for your sin-nature and gave you eternal life in the new birth. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
The ability to be right, to do right, and to produce fruits and works of righteousness is inherent in my spirit. I’m living by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Therefore, I’m as righteous as Jesus is righteous. Hallelujah!
