Our Ministry Of His Righteousness

“예수 그리스도로 말미암아 의의 열매가 가득하여 하나님의 영광과 찬송이 되기를 원하노라”(빌 1:11)

하나님은 사람들과 열방에 그분의 임재를 가져가서 그들에게 성령의 성품을 보여주기 위해 우리를 보내셨습니다. 그 임재 안에 무엇이 있습니까? 바로 하나님의 의입니다. 우리가 개인이나 공동체에 하나님의 임재를 가져갈 때, 우리는 하나님의 의를 가져가는 것입니다.

이는 예수님의 비전과 매우 일치합니다. 예수님은 이 땅에 하나님의 왕국을 세우기 위해 오셨습니다. 그분은 하나님의 의를 세우기 위해 오셨습니다. 그분이 태어나시기 전에, 천사는 마리아에게 아기의 이름은 엠마누엘, 곧 우리와 함께 계시는 하나님(마 1:23)이라고 말해주었습니다. 그것이 바로 하나님의 임재입니다. 그리고 예수님은 육신으로 나타난 하나님의 의이십니다.

하나님의 임재는 그분의 의가 나타나는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 우리는 하나님의 의를 전파하고 가르칩니다. 오직 그분의 의를 통해서만 사람들이 그분의 인격을 경험할 수 있기 때문입니다. 감각으로는 하나님을 알 수 없습니다. 하나님의 사랑의 행위에 나타난 그분의 의를 이해하기 전까지 당신은 그분을 알 수 없습니다.

이것이 바로 우리가 온 세상이 예수님이 누구신지를 알기 원하는 이유입니다. 우리는 온 세상이 하나님의 의를 경험하기 원합니다. 하나님의 사랑은 실제로 하나님의 의의 나타남입니다.

하나님의 의가 나타나는 곳마다 하나님의 사랑을 경험할 수 있습니다. 우리는 그분의 의가 되었습니다. 즉, 당신의 세상, 직장, 가정 등에서 하나님의 의가 당신을 통해 나타난다는 뜻입니다. 당신은 어디에서나 하나님의 의의 열매를 나타냅니다.

따라서 당신은 어떤 일을 할 때, 어떤 사람의 편에 설지 고민하는 것이 아니라 하나님의 의를 세우는 일에 집중해야 합니다. 우리가 하나님의 의를 대표하기 때문입니다. 우리는 하나님의 의를 세우도록 부름 받았습니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

기도

사랑하는 주님, 나를 당신의 신성한 임재와 의를 전달하는 자로 만들어 주시니 감사합니다! 나는 어디를 가든지 성령의 탁월함과 우아함을 발산합니다. 나는 당신의 의의 표현입니다! 나는 당신의 의를 전하고 말하며, 당신의 영광과 덕을 드러냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다.

OUR MINISTRY OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS

“Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God”(Philippians 1:11).

God sent us to take His presence to the peoples and nations of the world, demonstrating to them the character of the Spirit. But what’s in that presence? It’s the righteousness of God. When we bring the presence of God to an individual or a community, we’re bringing them the righteousness of God.

This very much aligns with the vision of Jesus. He came to set up the Kingdom of God in the earth; He came to establish God’s righteousness. Before His birth, the angel announced to Mary that His name shall be called Emmanuel—God with us (Matthew 1:23). That’s God’s presence; and Jesus was the righteousness of God unveiled in flesh.

God’s presence is His righteousness in manifestation. That’s why we preach and teach the righteousness of God, because only through His righteousness can the people experience His Person. You can’t know God with your senses; you can’t know Him until you understand His righteousness, which is revealed in His acts of love.

It’s the reason we want the whole world to know who Jesus is. We want the whole world to experience the righteousness of God. When we talk about the love of God, the love of God actually is the demonstration of the righteousness of God.

Wherever the righteousness of God is in manifestation, the love of God is experienced. We’ve been made His righteousness, which means the righteousness of God is in manifestation through you in your world—in your office, in your home etc. You hold forth the fruits of God’s righteousness everywhere.

It’s the reason when you get involved in a matter, it shouldn’t be about taking sides with anyone but about establishing the righteousness of God, because that’s what we represent; that’s what we’re called to establish. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for making me a conveyor of your divine presence, a dispenser of your righteousness! Everywhere I go, I exude the excellence and elegance of the Spirit. I’m the manifestation of your righteousness! I spread and speak forth your righteousness and give vent to your glory and virtue, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

오늘의 본문 구절에서 “나타내다(declare)”라는 단어는 그리스어 “엑세거마이(exegeomai)”에서 유래되었는데, 이는 단순한 선언이 아니라 어떤 것을 보여주거나 밝히는 행위를 뜻합니다. 예수님은 우리에게 신성을 보여주셨습니다. 예수님은 우리가 이해할 수 있는 방식으로 하나님을 계시해 주기 위해 오셨습니다.

예수님의 생애는 살아 있는 성경이었으며 왕국의 원리와 신성한 삶의 방식을 생생하게 보여주었습니다. 이 심오한 진리는 성경이 우리에게 예수님의 발자취를 따르라고 말하는 이유입니다. 하나님은 우리에게 따라할 수 있는 본을 주셨습니다.

베드로전서 2:21은 이를 아름답게 강조합니다. “이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 받았으니 그리스도도 너희를 위하여 고난을 받으사 너희에게 본을 끼쳐 그 자취를 따라오게 하려 하셨느니라” 예수님은 아버지의 사랑, 성품, 뜻을 보여주기 위해 오셨습니다. 예수님은 요한복음 14:9에서 “나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았거늘”이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 이는 육신으로 오신 하나님만이 하실 수 있는 말씀입니다.

에베소서 5:1-2은 말합니다. “그러므로 사랑을 받는 자녀 같이 너희는 하나님을 본받는 자가 되고 그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라…” 이 구절에 언급된 “본받는 자”는 그리스어 “미메테스(mimetes)”에서 번역되었습니다. 이는 추종자뿐 아니라 모방자, 즉 다른 사람을 따라하는 사람을 뜻합니다. 우리는 하나님을 따라하는 자들로 부름 받았습니다. 그렇지만 우리가 그분을 본 적이 없다면 어떻게 따라할 수 있겠습니까?

예수님께서 그것을 가능케 하셨습니다! 예수님은 하나님의 본성과 우리를 향한 그분의 사랑을 나타내기 위해 오셨습니다. 하나님은 우리를 사랑하십니다. 우리는 성경을 통해 예수님이 어떻게 사랑과 긍휼로 감동하시었는지 보았기에 알고 있습니다. 예수님의 행동은 곧 하나님이 그 안에서 역사하신 것입니다.

이제 우리는 아버지의 사랑, 의, 자비, 긍휼, 은혜를 나타낼 수 있습니다. 예수님이 이 땅에 계실 때 그렇게 하셨기 때문입니다. 우리 안에 그리스도의 생명이 있고, 성령으로 말미암아 그분의 사랑이 우리 마음에 부어졌습니다(롬 5:5).

사도 바울은 우리에게 말합니다. “그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라 그는 우리를 위하여 자신을 버리사 향기로운 제물과 희생제물로 하나님께 드리셨느니라”(엡 5:2)

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 주 예수님을 통해 우리에게 당신의 본성과 사랑을 나타내시니 감사드립니다. 나는 일상 생활에서 예수님의 발자취를 따르고, 그분을 본받으며, 그분이 사랑하신 것처럼 사랑하고, 그분이 행하신 대로 행하고, 그분이 생각하신 대로 생각합니다. 당신의 성품에 대한 증거로 당신의 사랑이 나를 통해 밝게 빛납니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HE REHEARSED DIVINITY TO US

“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him”(John 1:18).

The word “declared” in our opening verse originates from the Greek term “exegeomai,” signifying not just a mere declaration but the act of rehearsing or unfolding something. In essence, Jesus rehearsed divinity to us. He came to reveal God in a way we could relate with and understand.

The life of Jesus was a living testament, a vivid portrayal of the Kingdom’s principles and the divine way of living. This profound truth is why the Bible instructs us to follow in His footsteps, for He’s given us an example to emulate.

1 Peter 2:21 underscores this beautifully: “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.” Jesus came to show us the Father’s love, character, and will. He said in John 14:9, “…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father…”; a claim only the One who was God in the flesh could make.

Ephesians 5:1-2 says, “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us…” The term “followers” translates from the Greek word “mimetes,” denoting not merely followers but imitators, those who copy another. We’re called to be imitators of God, but how can we imitate God when we haven’t seen Him?

Jesus made it possible! He came to reveal God’s nature and His love for us. God loves us; we know because we see from the Scriptures how Jesus was moved by love and compassion. Jesus in action was God at work.

Now we can manifest the Father’s love, His righteousness, mercy, compassion and grace because that’s what Jesus did when He walked the earth. We have the life of Christ in us, and His love is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).

The Apostle Paul tells us, “And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma” (Ephesians 5:2).

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for revealing your nature and your love to us through the Lord Jesus. I follow in His steps and imitate Him in my daily life, loving as He loved, walking as He walked and thinking as He thought. Your love shines through me as a testament to your character, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

주 예수님은 우리를 하나님과의 교제 안으로 인도하기 위해 오셨습니다. 그분은 친밀한 관계, 즉 하나님과 사람 사이의 하나됨을 확립하여 사람이 참으로 하나님을 알 수 있도록 하기 위해 오셨습니다. 그리고 그분은 그것을 이루셨습니다. 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리는 영생을 받았습니다. 하나님의 생명과 본성이 우리 영에 전달되었습니다

예수님은 요한복음 10:10에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라” 충만한 그리스도의 생명은 당신이 예수님을 당신 삶의 주님으로 영접했을 때 당신이 받은 것입니다. 골로새서 3:4은 “우리 생명이신 그리스도”라고 말합니다. 그리스도는 거듭난 자의 생명이십니다. 얼마나 기쁜 소식입니까!

예수님은 우리가 전 세계에 이 기쁜 소식을 전하고 가르치기 원하십니다. 예수님은 마가복음 16:15에서 “너희는 온 천하에 다니며 만민에게 복음을 전파하라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 그분은 우리가 전능하신 하나님과의 교제가 가능하다는 것을 세상에 알리기 원하십니다. 의는 우리에게 가능한 일이 되었습니다. 필요한 것은 오직 이 진리를 믿는 것뿐입니다. “이는 그를 믿는 자마다 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라”(요 3:15) 할렐루야!

예수님은 우리 죄를 위해 죽으셨고 사흘 만에 죽은 자 가운데서 승리하여 살아나셨습니다. 그분의 죽음으로 죄는 해결되었지만, 그것이 우리를 하나님과 하나로 만들지는 못했습니다. 우리에게 영생을 주고 하나님과 하나되게 한 것은 예수님의 부활이었습니다.

이제 예수 그리스도는 당신 삶의 주님일 뿐만 아니라 당신은 그 안에서 풍성하고 깊은 교제를 합니다. “우리가 보고 들은 그것을 너희에게 밝히 드러냄은 너희 또한 우리와 교제하게 하려 함이니 참으로 우리의 교제는 아버지와 그분의 아들 예수 그리스도와 함께하는 것이니라.”(요일 1:3, 한글흠정역)

고린도전서 1:9은 말합니다. “너희를 불러 그의 아들 예수 그리스도 우리 주와 더불어 교제하게 하시는 하나님은 미쁘시도다” 이것이 바로 하나님께서 항상 인간에게 바라셨던 교제입니다! 예수님은 하나님과의 교제가 가능하게 만들어주셨습니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 당신과의 교제, 하나됨, 우정, 친밀함이라는 놀라운 선물과 당신의 임재를 나에게 실재가 되게 하시는 성령님의 내주하심에 감사드립니다. 나는 이 교제의 깊이를 누리며 예수님으로 인해 가능해진 이 사랑과 의 가운데 행합니다. 아멘.

JESUS MADE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD A REALITY

“For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us”(Ephesians 2:14).

The Lord Jesus came to bring us into fellowship with God. He came to establish an intimate relationship—a oneness between God and man so that man can truly know God; and He achieved it. In Christ Jesus, we were given eternal life; the life and nature of God was imparted to our spirits.

He said in John 10:10 (NIV), “…The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” The Christ-life in its fullness is what you received when you received Jesus as Lord of your life. The Bible says in Colossians 3:4, “Christ is our life”; He’s the life of the one who’s born again. What a Gospel!

This is what He wants us to preach and teach around the world. He said in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” He wants us to let the world know that a relationship with Almighty God is possible; righteousness is possible and available. All it takes is to believe: “…whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:15). Hallelujah!

Jesus died for our sins, but He rose triumphantly from the dead after three days. His death settled the charges against us, but it didn’t make us one with God. It was His resurrection that gave us eternal life and brought us into oneness with God.

Now, Jesus Christ isn’t only the Lord of your life, but also One in and by whom you’ve found rich and deep fellowship: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3).

1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” This is what God had always wanted with man: fellowship! Jesus made it a reality. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the remarkable gift of fellowship, oneness, friendship and intimacy with you, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, who has made your presence real to me. I enjoy the depth of this relationship, and walk in the love and righteousness that Jesus has made available for me to live by. Amen.

The Spirit Of Wisdom For Revelation

“우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 지혜와 계시의 영을 너희에게 주사 하나님을 알게 하시고 너희 마음의 눈을 밝히사 그의 부르심의 소망이 무엇이며 성도 안에서 그 기업의 영광의 풍성함이 무엇이며”(엡 1:17-18)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 밑줄 친 부분은 사도 바울이 두 가지 다른 것, 즉 지혜의 영과 계시의 영을 언급하고 있는 것처럼 보여집니다. 그렇지 않습니다! 그는 하나의 같은 것을 말하고 있습니다. 당신에게 계시, 곧 신비를 밝히는 “아포칼룹시스(그리스어)”를 가져오는 지혜의 영을 말합니다.

지혜의 영은 하나님의 영이 지혜 안에서 활동하시는 것을 의미하며, 하나님의 영은 지혜 안에서 그분을 나타내십니다. 오늘의 본문 구절에서 “와(and)”의 역할을 바르게 이해해야 합니다. 그리스어로는 “와”가 “~안에서”, “~와 함께”, “~를 위한”으로 번역되기도 합니다. 따라서, 하나님에 대한 지식 안에서 더 나은 번역은 “계시 안에 있는 지혜의 영” 혹은 “계시를 위한 지혜의 영”입니다.

확대번역 클래식 번역본에서는 다음과 같이 말합니다. “[내가 항상 기도하는 것은] 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 그분에 대한 [깊고 친밀한] 지식 안에서 [신비와 비밀을 통찰하게 하는] 계시를 위한 지혜의 영을 너희에게 주십니다…” 이것이 당신의 삶에서 지혜의 성령께서 하시는 사역입니다. 첫째로, 그분은 당신에게 계시, 즉 신비와 비밀에 대한 통찰력을 주십니다.

THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM FOR REVELATION

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints”(Ephesians 1:17-18).

The underlined portion in our opening scripture above seems to suggest that the Apostle Paul was referring to two different things: the spirit of wisdom, and the spirit of revelation, but no! Rather, he’s dealing with one and the same thing: the Spirit of wisdom bringing you revelation—the unveiling of mysteries—“apocalupsis” (Greek).

The Spirit of wisdom refers to the operations of the Spirit of God in wisdom, the Spirit of God manifesting Himself in wisdom. The use of the word “and” in that expression needs to be properly understood. In the Greek rendering, the word translated “and” is also translated “in,” “with,” or “for.” Therefore, a better rendering of that expression is “…the spirit of wisdom in revelation,” or “the spirit of wisdom for revelation,” in the exact knowledge of God.

In the Amplified Classic version, it says, “[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him….” This is the ministry of the Spirit of wisdom in your life: He brings you revelation—insight into mysteries and secrets.

Secondly, He brings you light (photizo—Greek); He floods your path with light. He illuminates your mind with extraordinary sagacity and amplitude of comprehension. Thirdly, He brings you counsel and direction such that life ceases to be mysterious to you.

Always acknowledge that you’re filled with the Spirit of God in wisdom and spiritual understanding; therefore you know and can discern His will. Every so often, declare, “I have insight into mysteries and secrets; I function at the highest level of excellence and in the perfect will of God, because I’m filled with the Spirit of wisdom for revelation in the deep and intimate knowledge of Christ.” Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I’m filled with the Spirit of God in wisdom for revelation; I have insight into mysteries and secrets. I function at the highest level of excellence and in the perfect will of God, because I’m filled with the deep and intimate knowledge of Christ, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Amen.

No Force Can Prevail Against You

“하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라”(요 3:16)

오늘의 본문 구절에 나오는 말씀이 신성한 법령이라는 것을 알고 계셨습니까? 당신이 예수 그리스도를 믿는다면 멸망하지 않습니다. 이는 그 무엇도 그 누구도 당신을 해칠 수 없다는 뜻입니다. 예수님은 누가복음 10:19에서 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 너희에게 뱀과 전갈을 밟으며 원수의 모든 능력을 제어할 권능을 주었으니 너희를 해칠 자가 결코 없으리라”

또한 마가복음 16:18은 무슨 독을 마실지라도 그것이 당신에게 해를 끼칠 수 없다고 말합니다. 이것은 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 유업입니다. 시편 91:5-7은 말합니다. “너는 밤에 찾아오는 공포와 낮에 날아드는 화살과 어두울 때 퍼지는 전염병과 밝을 때 닥쳐오는 재앙을 두려워하지 아니하리로다 천 명이 네 왼쪽에서, 만 명이 네 오른쪽에서 엎드러지나 이 재앙이 네게 가까이 하지 못하리로다”

위 성경 구절의 후반부를 주목해 보십시오. 다른 사람들을 파괴하는 악, 전염병, 재앙이 당신에게는 가까이 올 수 없다고 말합니다. 왜 그렇습니까? 당신이 그리스도 안에 있기 때문입니다! 그리스도는 장소입니다. 당신은 그 안에서 이 세상의 파괴, 재난, 타락으로부터 보호받습니다. 할렐루야!

NO FORCE CAN PREVAIL AGAINST YOU

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”(John 3:16).

Did you know that the statement in our opening verse is a divine decree? You’re kept from perishing for believing in Jesus Christ. That means nothing and no one can harm you. Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

He also said in Mark 16:18 that if you drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt you. This is your heritage in Christ. Psalm 91:5-7 says, “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”

Notice the latter part; it says the evil, the pestilence, and the terror that destroy others won’t come near you; why? Because you’re in Christ! Christ is a place; and therein you’re shielded from the destructions, calamities and degradations of this present world. Hallelujah!

It further reminds of the words of the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD.” The reason the weapons can’t prosper is that you have eternal life—the indestructible, incorruptible and impregnable life of God! Remember what we read in our opening verse: “…whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

It’s a life of absolute mastery and dominion; a life of glory, victory, success and excellence. Because of this life in you, no evil force can prevail against you. You’re more than a conqueror! Glory to His Name forever!

PRAYER

Thank you, Father, for your glorious life in me; I live triumphantly every day, far above Satan and the negative systems of this world. Thank you for appointing me to a life of glory, victory, success, and excellence. Amen.

요한복음 1:14은 말합니다. “말씀이 육신이 되어…” 본질적으로 말씀이 형태가 바뀌어 육신으로 나타나신 분이 예수님입니다! 그렇다면 예수님은 베들레헴에서 태어나시기 전에 어디에 계셨습니까? 그분은 하나님의 말씀으로 하나님 안에 계셨습니다. 예를 들어, 당신의 말은 그것을 말하기 전까지는 지금 당신 안에 있습니다.

말은 단어로 옷 입혀진 생각들입니다. 당신이 말할 때, 당신은 자신의 생각을 말하고 있는 것입니다. 당신의 생각은 다른 사람들이 이해할 수 있도록 언어로 옷 입혀집니다. 따라서, 당신의 생각은 말로 표현되기 전까지 당신 안에 있습니다.

JESUS—GOD’S WORD MANIFEST IN FLESH

“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not”(John 1:10).

John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh…” (NKJV). In essence, the Word changed form and became manifest in the flesh, and that’s Jesus! Where was Jesus before He was born in Bethlehem? He was in God as God’s Word. For example, your words right now are in you, until you speak them forth.

Words are thoughts clothed with vocabulary. When you speak, you speak your thoughts. Your thoughts are clothed with language so someone else can understand. So, your thoughts reside within you until you express them in words.

When you’re thinking about something, nobody else can discern your thoughts; they remain concealed within your heart. However, when you speak, your words become tangible and can be captured in time. This is why we can record your voice and replay it later. Five years down the line, someone can hear what you said, but it was hidden in your heart until you uttered it.

Imagine if your words, once captured in time, could step out of a computer or a recorder and materialize as the very things you said. This is precisely what God did through Jesus Christ. Jesus became the embodiment of God’s will, a revelation of His divine purpose, and the manifestation of His boundless love.

If you wanted to understand what God is like, you only needed to look at Jesus. He declared, “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30). And He consistently performed the works and spoke the words that emanated from the Father. In essence, Jesus was the living expression of God’s Word.

It’s quite common for people to be puzzled by certain aspects of Jesus’ life, such as when God spoke from heaven during His baptism. So, they say, “If Jesus was the manifestation of God, how come, when he was being baptized, God spoke from heaven?”

God’s nature and capabilities are far beyond our understanding. We can draw a parallel from modern technology: when I preach from a particular location, anywhere in the world, my voice is heard in every known country and territory on earth and in multiple languages. If that is possible in this world, then think about what God can do! His ability to speak from heaven while Jesus was on earth transcends human limitations.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, you’re the God of heaven and earth; you pre- existed creation, and by you all things exist and consist. I honour you, for you’re the embodiment of wisdom, grace and truth; the only true God! Thank you for giving me a life of victory, success, prosperity and divine health. I love you forever.

우리가 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 축하할 때, 영생의 의미와 중요성을 완전히 이해하는 것이 중요합니다. 영생이 예수님이 가져오신 생명이므로 우리는 그 생명이 의미하는 바를 절대적으로 알아야 합니다. 그렇다면 영생이란 무엇입니까?

영생이 의미하는 바를 이해하려면 먼저 성경이 하나님, 예수 그리스도의 신성, 우상 숭배, 생명 자체에 대해 말하는 내용을 이해해야 합니다. 많은 사람들이 영생이 하나님의 생명이자 본성이라고만 알고 있습니다. 그러나 저는 당신에게 영생에 대한 명확한 정의를 알려드리겠습니다. 영생은 신성의 유기적이고 실존적인 속성입니다.

위에서 언급한 여러 단어들 사이에 신이라 불리는 다른 존재들과 우리 하나님을 구별하는 모든 요소들이 있습니다. 그 속성들은 유기적이어야 하고 실존적이어야 합니다. 그리고 당신은 그러한 속성들이 예수 그리스도 안에서 표현된 것처럼 아브라함, 이삭, 야곱의 하나님 안에서만 찾을 수 있습니다.

우리가 하나님을 볼 수 없기 때문에 무엇이든 주장할 수 있습니다. 우리는 “오, 하나님” 하고 그분을 부를 수도 있습니다. 그러나 당신이 그분을 볼 수 없다면 대체 그분은 어떤 분이십니까? 그래서 많은 사람들이 생각하는 대로 돌, 나무, 혹은 다른 무언가로 그분을 표현해왔습니다. 그러나 우리 하나님은 실재하시고 참되십니다.

예수님이 존재하지 않는다고 주장하는 사람들이 있을 수도 있지만, 그분은 예수 그리스도로 우리에게 오셨습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라”(요 1:14)

예수님은 바로 하나님이십니다. 할렐루야! 그리고 예수님은 영생이십니다. “또 아는 것은 하나님의 아들이 이르러 우리에게 지각을 주사 우리로 참된 자를 알게 하신 것과 또한 우리가 참된 자 곧 그의 아들 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 것이니 그는 참 하나님이시요 영생이시라”(요일 5:20) 요한일서 1:2은 말합니다. “이 생명이 나타내신 바 된지라 이 영원한 생명을 우리가 보았고 증언하여 너희에게 전하노니 이는 아버지와 함께 계시다가 우리에게 나타내신 바 된 이시니라”

JESUS—THE TRUE GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent”(John 17:3).

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, it’s important for us to grasp the full import and meaning of eternal life. The fact that that’s the life that Jesus brought makes it absolutely imperative that we know what it means. What then is eternal life?

To understand what it means, you’d have to first understand what the Scripture says about God, about the divinity of Jesus Christ, idolatry, and life itself. Many have only known eternal life to be the life and nature of God. But I’ll give you a definition that clarifies it. Eternal life is the organic and existential attributes of deity.

In those few words, you have the distinguishing factors—everything that separates our God from all others that may be called gods. These attributes must be organic, and they must be existential. And you can only find that in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as expressed in Jesus Christ.

That is what makes it beautiful because we don’t see Him, and so we could claim anything. We could say, “Oh God,” we can call him God. But who is He when you don’t see him? That is why many have represented God with whatever they think He is—stones, wood, or some materials and shape; but our God is real and true.

Some people may argue that He doesn’t exist, but He came to us in Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

Jesus is Himself, God. Hallelujah! And He is eternal life: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20). 1 John 1:2: “For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.”

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of your personality to my spirit; I’m overwhelmed by your boundless love. I thank you for the privilege and blessing to be a partaker of your life, and show forth your praises and express your righteousness in the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

His Goodwill Toward All

“그 지역에 목자들이 밤에 밖에서 자기 양 떼를 지키더니”(눅 2:8)

누가복음 2:8-14에는 베들레헴 근처 들판에서 천사가 목자들에게 전한 소식에 대한 놀라운 기록이 있습니다. 목자들이 밤에 자기 양 떼를 지키고 있을 때, 주님의 천사가 그들 앞에 나타났습니다. 그리고 주님의 영광이 그들을 비추자 그들이 크게 놀라며 두려워했습니다.

천사는 “두려워하지 말라” 하며 목자들을 안심시켰습니다. 그리고 온 백성을 위한 위대한 기쁜 소식을 전하러 갔습니다. 천사는 다윗의 도시에서 구원자, 곧 그리스도 주님이 태어나심을 선포했습니다.

그리고 천사는 목자들에게 새로 태어난 구세주를 찾을 수 있는 표징을 주었습니다. 곧 포대기에 싸여 구유에 뉘어 있는 아기였습니다. 갑자기 하늘에 수많은 천사의 무리가 나타나서 하나님을 찬양하며 선포했습니다. “지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요 땅에서는 하나님이 기뻐하신 사람들 중에 평화로다 하니라”(눅 2:14) 대단한 선포입니다!

모든 사람을 향한 하나님의 선한 뜻은 그 이후로도 멈추지 않았습니다. 이것이 우리의 복음입니다! 이것이 크리스마스의 의미입니다! 성경은 말합니다. “곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라”(고후 5:19)

하나님은 오늘날 모든 나라를 선한 뜻으로 바라보고 계십니다. 예수 그리스도는 하나님의 사랑의 메시지였습니다. 세상을 향한 하나님의 사랑의 편지였습니다. 예수님이 오셨을 때, 그분은 하나님의 뜻과 본성의 표현이셨습니다. 그분은 아버지의 의의 표현이셨습니다! 그분은 하나님의 사랑의 나타남이셨습니다.

하나님의 선한 뜻 중 가장 아름다운 부분은 그분이 우리를 그분의 뜻과 본성의 표현으로 삼으셨다는 것입니다. 고린도후서 5:21은 다음과 같이 선포합니다. “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라” 그리스도 안에서 우리는 하나님의 의가 되었습니다. 매일의 삶에서 당신은 아버지의 심령을 나타내 보이는 자입니다. 다른 말로, 당신은 아버지의 심령과 뜻을 드러내는 자입니다.

HIS GOODWILL TOWARD ALL

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night”(Luke 2:8).

Luke 2:8-14 provides a remarkable account of the angelic announcement to the shepherds in the fields near Bethlehem. As the shepherds were keeping watch over their flock by night, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, filling them with awe and reverential fear.

The angel reassured the shepherds, saying, “Fear not” and went ahead to deliver the good tidings of great joy that would be for all people. The angel proclaimed the birth of a Savior in the city of David, who is Christ the Lord.

Furthermore, the angel gave the shepherds a sign to find the new-born Saviour. They would find the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. Suddenly, the heavens were filled with a multitude of angels, praising God and declaring, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14). What an announcement!

His goodwill toward all men hasn’t stopped since then. This is our Gospel! This is what Christmas is about! The Bible says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

God is looking at all nations today with goodwill. Jesus Christ was God’s love message; he was God’s love letter to the world. When Jesus came, He was the expression of the will and nature of God; He was the expression of the Father’s righteousness! He was the manifestation of God’s love.

Now, the most sublime thing about His goodwill is that He made us the expression of His will and nature. 2 Corinthians 5:21 declares, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” In Christ, we are made the righteousness of God. Every day of your life, you’re the unfolding of the Father’s heart. In other words, you are the revelation of the Father’s heart and of His will.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for your love, grace and goodwill towards all men; we take advantage of your goodness and mercy to spread your Word of truth and thereby bring men into the glorious life, peace, blessings and righteousness in Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

하나님께서 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리시고 그분의 우편에 앉히셨습니다. “모든 통치와 권세와 능력과 주권과 이 세상뿐 아니라 오는 세상에 일컫는 모든 이름 위에 뛰어나게 하시고”(엡 1:21)

성경에서 우편은 능력의 위치 혹은 장소를 의미합니다. 만일 당신이 “짐은 나의 오른팔입니다.”라고 말한다면, 이는 “짐은 나를 대표하고 나를 대신해서 말합니다. 나는 그에게 나의 권위를 주었습니다.”라는 뜻입니다. 따라서, 예수님이 하나님의 우편에 앉았다는 것은 그분이 권세의 자리에 앉았다는 의미입니다. 하나님은 예수님을 통해 일하십니다. 정말 놀라운 사실입니다!

우리는 예수님의 무한히 확장되는 통치에 대해 주목할 만한 사실을 발견합니다. 그분의 통치는 모든 수준과 계층의 권세를 능가합니다. “모든 통치와 권세와 능력과 주권과 이 세상뿐 아니라 오는 세상에 일컫는 모든 이름 위에 뛰어나게 하시고”(엡 1:21) 하나님을 송축합니다!

NLT 번역본은 더욱 흥미로운 사실을 강조합니다. “… 그분은 이 세상이나 오는 세상에 어떤 통치자, 정사, 권세, 리더 혹은 그 어떤 것보다도 뛰어나십니다.” 다시 말해, 당신이 무엇을 말하든 주 예수님의 우월성은 부인할 수 없으며 이는 모든 사람, 한계, 경계를 초월합니다.

THE INFINITE EXPANSE OF HIS DOMINION

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us- ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places”(Ephesians 1:19-20).

When God raised Jesus from the dead, He set Him at His own right hand, “Far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come” (Ephesians 1:21).

Right hand in Scripture means the place or seat of power. It’s like you say, “Jim is my right-hand man”; it means “Jim represents and speaks for you; you’ve given him your authority. Therefore, Jesus being seated at God’s right hand means He’s seated in the seat of power; God operates through Him. That’s amazing!

But then we observe something remarkable about the infinite expanse of Jesus’ dominion. His dominion surpasses all levels and hierarchies of power. It’s “Far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come.” Blessed be God!

The Lord Jesus reigns supreme in this world as it is now, and also in the ages to come. He holds unmatched authority over all things, and His Name stands above every title. Praise God! The Amplified translation renders it beautifully. It says Jesus is far above “…every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come” (AMPC).

The New Living Translation emphasizes something even more interesting; it says, “…he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come.” In other words, call them whatever you want—the superiority of the Lord Jesus is undeniable—transcending all persons, all limits and all boundaries.

That’s the Lord Jesus Christ in whom you believe and whose birth is celebrated at this time all around the world. His authority knows no bounds and has no equal. His power extends throughout eternity. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m in awe of your mighty power, which was demonstrated when you raised Jesus from the dead and set Him at your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all levels and hierarchies of power, dominion and every title or name. Thank you, for I’m seated with Him in this glorious place of power and authority, and have become his operational headquarters in the earth. Amen.

We Are Like Him

“이로써 사랑이 우리에게 온전히 이루어진 것은 우리로 심판 날에 담대함을 가지게 하려 함이니 주께서 그러하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러하니라”(요일 4:17)

그리스도를 영접했을 때, 당신은 그분의 생명과 본성을 받고 그분과 같이 되었습니다. 요한일서 3:1은 이 진리에 대해 설명해줍니다. “보라 아버지께서 어떠한 사랑을 우리에게 베푸사 하나님의 자녀라 일컬음을 받게 하셨는가, 우리가 그러하도다 그러므로 세상이 우리를 알지 못함은 그를 알지 못함이라”

우리는 그분의 자손입니다. 우리는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 않고 하나님께로부터 난 자입니다(요 1:12-13). 생각해 보십시오. 당신이 하나님께서부터 난 자라면, 당신은 어떤 자이겠습니까? 신성한 자입니다! 그래서 하나님께서는 시편 기자를 통해 “내가 말하기를 너희는 신들이며 다 지존자의 아들들이라 하였으나”(시 82:6)라고 말씀하신 것입니다.

주 예수님은 이 진리를 다음과 같이 반복해서 말씀하셨습니다. “… 너희 율법에 기록된 바 내가 너희를 신이라 하였노라 하지 아니하였느냐”(요 10:34) 이 세상 사람들은 예수님이 오셨을 때 알아보지 못했던 것처럼 우리를 알아보지 못할 수도 있습니다. 그러나 오늘날 신성한 계시로 말미암아 우리의 눈이 열리고 이 진리를 따라 행하게 되었습니다.

성경은 말합니다. “사랑하는 자들아 우리가 지금은 하나님의 자녀라 장래에 어떻게 될지는 아직 나타나지 아니하였으나 그가 나타나시면 우리가 그와 같을 줄을 아는 것은 그의 참모습 그대로 볼 것이기 때문이니”(요일 3:2) 이 구절이 의미하는 바는 무엇입니까? 바로 우리의 육신이 주님이 다시 오실 때 영광스러운 몸으로 변화될 것이라는 뜻입니다. 그러나 우리는 지금 그분의 생명과 본성을 갖고 있습니다. 주께서 그러하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러합니다.

예수님의 부활 이후를 떠올려 보십시오. 제자들이 문과 창문이 모두 닫혀있는 방에 모여 있었는데, 예수님이 벽을 뚫고 그 한 가운데로 들어오셨습니다. 제자들은 처음에 그분이 귀신인 줄 알았습니다. 그래서 예수님은 제자들에게 자신을 만져보라고 하셨습니다. 귀신과 달리 그분은 몸과 뼈가 다 있었습니다. 우리의 신성한 본성, 성품, 정체성이 이 세상 사람들에게 잘 드러나지 않을 수도 있습니다. 그러나 상관없습니다. 우리는 하나님께서 우리가 어떤 자라고 말씀하신 그대로 하나님의 자녀들입니다. 그리고 이 일은 미래에는 물론이고 현재의 실재입니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 내 안에 있는 당신의 생명과 본성에 감사드립니다. 당신의 형상과 모양을 따라 나를 창조하셨음을 알기에 나는 나의 정체성을 기뻐합니다. 따라서 나는 당신의 영광, 위엄, 광채, 의의 참여자입니다. 내 안에서 당신의 유기적이고 실존적인 속성이 나타남에 감사드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

WE ARE LIKE HIM

“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world”(1 John 4:17).

When you received Christ, you received His life and nature and became like Him. 1 John 3:1 further explicates this truth. It says, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”

We’re His offspring; born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12-13). Think about it; if you’re born of God, what does that make you? Divine! No wonder He said through the psalmist, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” (Psalms 82:6).

The Lord Jesus reiterated this truth when He said, “…Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” (John 10:34). The people of the world may not recognize us, just as they didn’t recognize Jesus when He came. But today, through divine revelation, our eyes have been opened to this truth to walk accordingly.

The Bible says “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). What does this mean? It means our physical bodies will be transformed into glorified bodies at the Master’s return, but right now, we have His life and nature—as He is, so are we in this world.

Recall that after His resurrection, His disciples were gathered in a room, with the doors and windows shut, but Jesus came into their midst through a wall. They initially thought He was a ghost, but He invited them to touch Him, emphasizing that He had flesh and bones, unlike a ghost. Outwardly, our divine nature, personality and identity may not be readily apparent to the people of the world, but it makes no difference. We’re who God says we are—sons of God—not only for the future, but right NOW!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your life and nature in me; I celebrate my identity, knowing that you created me in your image and in your likeness. Thus, I’m a partaker of your glory, majesty, splendour and righteousness. Thank you, for your organic and existential attributes are manifest in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
