A Most Sublime And Imperial Identity

“또 미리 정하신 그들을 또한 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라”(롬 8:30)

확대번역본은 오늘의 본문 구절을 다음과 같이 말합니다. “그분은 예정하신 자들을 또한 부르셨고, 부르신 자들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 (받아들여지게, 의롭게, 그분과 올바른 자리에 마주설 수 있게끔) 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라 [하늘의 존귀함의 상태 또는 존재로 높이셨느니라].”

A MOST SUBLIME AND IMPERIAL IDENTITY

“Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified”(Romans 8:30).

The Amplified version of the opening text says, “And those whom He thus foreordained, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified (acquitted, made righteous, putting them into right standing with Himself). And those whom He justified, He also glorified [raising them to a heavenly dignity and condition or state of being].”

Observe the explanation of the word “Glorified”; it says, “… [raising them to a heavenly dignity and condition or state of being].” In other words, when you were born again, when you came to Christ and received eternal life, you were brought into a life of heavenly dignity. We have the most sublime and most imperial identity!

The apostle John explains the fellowship that has ushered us into this life of glory: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). The word translated “fellowship” is the Greek, “Koinōnia.” It also means partnership. So, he’s dealing with comradeship.

Thus, our fellowship, partnership or comradeship is with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Peter says we’re called to glory and excellence: “For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue)”(2 Peter 1:3 AMPC).

CONFESSION

Thank you, Father, for the awesome fellowship and comradeship in Christ, with your divine life in my spirit. This imperial union with divinity makes me indestructible, and eternally victorious. Hallelujah!

Truth : Reality Beyond Facts

“예수께서 이르시되 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라”(요 14:6)

만약 당신이 예수님을 모른다면 진리를 알 수도, 찾을 수도 없습니다. 그저 진리 없는 사실만을 찾을 뿐입니다. 진리와 사실은 같지 않습니다. 사실은 존재하거나 일어난 일에 대해 감각적으로 검증된 정보의 주장입니다. 그러나 진리는 감각 너머의 실재입니다.

성경에 따르면 하나님의 말씀은 진리이자 실재입니다. “그들을 진리로 거룩하게 하옵소서 아버지의 말씀은 진리니이다.”(요 17:17) 진리는 주어진 조건, 상황 또는 환경에 대해 하나님이 말씀하신 바에 대한 확언입니다. 진리는 영적 법칙입니다. 누군가 당신에게 “사실”을 말할 수 있지만, 진리를 말해주지 않을 수도 있습니다. 진리는 사실을 초월하기 때문입니다.

진리는 의도를 밝혀냅니다. 예를 들어, 법정에서 사법제도가 밝히려고 하는 것은 범죄를 저지른 피고인의 동기, 목적 또는 의도입니다. 범죄자의 행동을 유발한 촉매제, 열망, 충동, 갈망이 무엇인지 밝혀내려고 합니다.

그 사람의 동기를 밝혀내는 것은 범죄를 저질렀음을 확인하거나 증명하는 데 있어 다른 증거와 함께 유용하게 쓰일 수 있습니다. 특히 피고인이 자신의 범죄를 부인하는 경우 더욱 그렇습니다. 하지만 많은 경우, 이 세상의 신뢰할 수 없는 형사사법제도들은 잘못된 판단을 내리고 잘못된 사람들을 추궁하기도 합니다. 이 세상의 제도는 사실만을 다루기 때문입니다.

사람의 동기를 알려면 어떻게 해야 합니까? 그 사람의 마음을 알아야 합니다. 그렇다면 어떻게 그 사람의 마음을 알 수 있습니까? 마음의 생각과 목적을 드러내고 조사하고 분석하고 판단하는 것은 오직 진리이신 하나님의 말씀만이 할 수 있습니다. 히브리서 4:12은 말합니다. “하나님의 말씀은 살아 있고 활력이 있어 좌우에 날선 어떤 검보다도 예리하여 혼과 영과 및 관절과 골수를 찔러 쪼개기까지 하며 또 마음의 생각과 뜻을 판단하나니.”

그러므로 어떤 상황이든 항상 하나님의 말씀의 진리에 복종하십시오. 진리로 사실을 압도하십시오. 예를 들어, 당신의 건강과 관련한 의사의 진단으로부터 비롯된 사실들은 당신과 상관이 없습니다. 진리는 당신이 신성한 생명을 가지고 있다는 것입니다. 그러므로 신성한 건강은 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 본성입니다. 당신의 몸에는 질병과 연약함이 설 자리가 없습니다. 할렐루야! 진리는 사실보다 위대합니다. 오늘 그리고 날마다, 하나님의 진리 안에서, 진리로 살아가십시오. 아멘.

TRUTH: REALITY BEYOND FACTS

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”(John 14:6).

If you don’t know Jesus, you can never know or find truth. You may only find facts without truth. Truth and fact are not the same. A fact is the assertion of sensorially verified information about something that exists or has happened. While truth, on the other hand, is reality beyond the senses.

According to the Scriptures, the Word of God is truth—reality: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17). Truth is an affirmation of what God has said about any given condition, situation or circumstance. Truth is spiritual law. Someone may tell you a “fact” but not tell you the truth, because truth goes beyond facts.

Truth will reveal motives. In a law court, for example, one of the things the justice system looks at is the accused’s motive, purpose or intent in committing a crime. That is, the driving force, the urge, the impulse, or the desire that induces the criminal’s action.

It’s true that a motive can be useful in conjunction with other evidence to confirm or prove that a person committed a crime, especially if the accused offender denies doing so. However, time and time again, these unreliable systems of criminal justice have misjudged and convicted the wrong people, because they deal mainly with facts.

How can you judge a man’s motive? You have to know his heart. How can you know a man’s heart? It’s only God’s Word—the truth—that exposes, sifts, analyzes and judges the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 NIV says, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Therefore, always subject the facts about any situation to the truth of God’s Word. Override facts with truths. For example, it doesn’t matter the facts resulting from the doctor’s diagnosis concerning your health; the truth is you have the divine life; therefore, divine health is your nature in Christ. Sickness, disease and infirmities have no place in your body. Hallelujah! Truth is greater than fact. Live in and by God’s truth today, and every day. Amen.

CONFESSION

God’s Word is my life, and the truth by which I live today and every day! I walk in truth, filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. I walk in dominion over fear, sickness, poverty, and death, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Spiritual Insight And Understanding

“이런 까닭에 우리도… 너희를 위해 기도하기를 그치지 아니하고 또 너희가 모든 지혜와 영적 깨달음에서 그분의 뜻을 아는 것으로 채워지며”(골 1:9 한글킹제임스)

성령님은 사도 바울을 통하여 골로새에 있는 그리스도인들을 위해 통찰력이 가득한 기도를 했습니다. 성령님은 그들이 모든 지혜와 영적인 이해에 하나님의 뜻을 아는 것으로 채워지도록 기도하셨습니다. 이것을 통해 우리는 자연적인 이해가 있듯이 영적인 이해가 있다는 사실을 알 수 있습니다.

당신의 눈을 뜨게 하고 영적인 이해를 주기 위해서는 성령님이 필요합니다. 그분은 당신에게 왕국의 신비와 비밀을 보여 주십니다. 그분은 진리의 영이시며, 그분께서 당신의 삶에서 행하시는 사역 중 하나는 당신에게 진리를 밝히시는 것입니다. 이 사실은 에베소서 1:17(확대번역본)에 있는 바울을 통한 성령님의 또다른 기도를 떠올리게 합니다. “[내가 늘 기도하기를] 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 그분을 아는 깊고 친밀한 지식 안에서 지혜와 계시의 (신비와 비밀에 대한 통찰력의) 영을 너희에게 주사…”

성령님께서 주시는 깨달음과 통찰이 없다면, 당신이 해석하는 인생은 평범하고, 세속적이며, 쓸모가 없을 것입니다. 영적인 실재를 붙잡는 것이 어려울 것입니다.

예를 들어, 예수님의 제자들을 생각해 보십시오. 그들은 주님과 함께 있었지만 그분이 가르치신 많은 것들을 깨닫지 못하였습니다. 그들이 성령을 받지 못했기 때문입니다. 예수님께서 그분의 죽으심과 장사되심과 부활하심을 말씀하셨을 때, 제자들은 그 말씀이 어떤 의미인지 고민했습니다. 당시 그들은 영적인 통찰력과 깨달음이 부족했기 때문입니다.

그렇기 때문에 예수님께서 죽음에서 부활하신 후에도 제자들 중 일부는 여전히 의심했습니다. 그러나 예수님이 부활하신 후 그들 가운데 오셨을 때, 성경은 다음과 같이 말합니다. “…그들을 향하사 숨을 내쉬며 이르시되 성령을 받으라.”(요 20:22) 예수님께서 하신 일은 제자들이 영적인 실재를 받아들이고 이해할 수 있도록 성령으로 그들의 이해를 열어 주신 것입니다. 그때부터 제자들은 영적인 통찰력을 갖게 되었습니다. 그들은 예수님의 말씀을 깨닫고 이해했습니다.

성령님이 당신의 삶에 오시면, 그분께서는 당신에게 깨달음을 주셔서 더 이상 하나님의 말씀, 인생, 그 어떤 것에 대해서도 어둠 속에 있지 않도록 도우십니다. 그 통찰력과 이해를 통해 당신은 성공, 기쁨, 승리, 번영으로 가는 인생의 길을 알게 됩니다. 당신은 지혜와 영광과 의로 인도받습니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나에게 성령님이라는 귀한 선물을 주셔서 감사합니다. 성령님은 나에게 영적인 통찰력을 주시고, 바른 길로 인도하시며, 내가 삶을 주도할 수 있도록 도우십니다. 그리스도가 나의 지혜가 되셨으며, 나는 말씀 안에서 말씀을 통하여 성령의 능력으로 영화로운 삶을 살아갑니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

SPIRITUAL INSIGHT AND UNDERSTANDING

“For this cause we…do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding”(Colossians 1:9).

The Spirit, through the apostle Paul, prayed an insightful prayer for the Christians in Colossae, that they might be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. It lets us know that there’s such a thing as spiritual understanding, just as there’s a natural understanding.

It takes the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and give you spiritual understanding. He unveils mysteries and secrets of the Kingdom to you. He’s the Spirit of truth, and part of his ministry in your life is the unveiling of truth. It brings to mind another prayer of the Spirit through Paul in Ephesians 1:17AMPC: “For I always pray to] the God…that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him.”

Without the understanding and insight that the Spirit gives, your interpretation of life would be ordinary, mundane and useless. It will be difficult to grasp spiritual realities.

Consider the disciples of Jesus for example; though they had been with the Master, they didn’t understand many things that He taught them, because they hadn’t received the Holy Spirit. When He spoke of His death, burial and resurrection, they grappled with it, because they lacked spiritual insight and understanding at the time.

That’s how come even after He rose from the dead, some of them still doubted. But after His resurrection, when He came among them, the Bible says “…he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost” (John 20:22). What He did was to open their understanding by the Holy Spirit so they could receive and comprehend spiritual realities. From then on, they had spiritual insight; they understood the words of Jesus.

When the Holy Spirit comes into your life, He gives you understanding so you’re no longer in the dark about God’s Word, life, or anything. Through that insight and understanding, you know the paths of life that bring success, joy, victory and prosperity; you’re led in wisdom, glory and righteousness. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit who grants me spiritual insight, sets me on the right course, and makes me a master in life. Christ is my wisdom, and I live a glorified life in and through the Word, by the power of the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The True Royal “Bloodline”

“그러나 너희는 선택받은 민족이요 왕 같은 제사장이며, 구별되어 헌신된 나라요, [하나님께서] 친히 사신 특별한 백성이니, 이는 너희를 어두움에서 불러내어 그의 놀라운 빛으로 들어가게 하신 분의 경이로운 행위를 내세우고 그분의 덕과 완벽함을 내보이게 하려 하심이라.”(벧전 2:9, 확대번역본)

오늘의 본문 구절은 아주 깊은 내용을 담고 있습니다! 제가 어렸을 적 이 구절을 처음 읽었을 때, 이 숭고한 발견에 뛰고, 달리고, 뛰어오르며 소리쳤습니다. 저는 아직도 이 말씀을 묵상할 때마다 너무나도 끓어오르며 흥분됩니다. 우리는 진정한 왕족의 혈통입니다.

먼저, 사도 베드로가 “그러나 너희는 그렇게 될 것이다”라고 말하지 않았음을 주목하십시오. 오히려 그는 “그러나 너희는!”이라고 말합니다. 이것은 약속이 아니라 현재의 실재입니다. 하나님보다 당신을 더 잘 아는 사람은 없습니다. 그분의 말씀은 거울입니다. 이제 그 거울이 하나님께서 당신을 어떻게 보시는지를 보여주고 설명합니다. 당신은 왕 같은 제사장입니다. 당신은 왕족입니다.

예수님의 보혈은 그분의 생명을 나타냅니다. 그분의 보혈이 당신의 진정한 가치입니다. 그리고 당신을 사신 그 보혈로 인해, 당신은 이 세상의 부패한 영향력보다 위에서 군림하며 살아갑니다. 당신의 진정한 왕족의 혈통입니다. 당신의 하늘 아버지는 우주의 군주이시며, 당신은 그분의 상속자입니다. 그분이 친히 사신 귀중한 소유입니다!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 예수님의 보혈로 나에게 죄사함, 의롭다 하심, 구속, 교제, 깨끗케 함, 신약의 축복을 주심에 감사드립니다. 나는 그분의 말씀으로 태어난 새로운 피조물이며, 사탄과 이 세상, 이 세상의 실패한 시스템과 요소들보다 우월합니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

THE TRUE ROYAL “BLOODLINE”

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”(1 Peter 2:9 AMPC).

The verse we just read is absolutely profound! How I jumped, ran, skipped and shouted for joy at such a sublime discovery many years ago when I first read it as a young lad. I’m still so stirred and excited each time I meditate on it. We’re of the true royal bloodline.

First, observe that the apostle Peter didn’t say, “But you shall be”; rather, he says, “But you are!” That’s not a promise but a present-hour reality. Nobody knows you better than God. His Word is a mirror, and now the mirror is showing and describing how God sees you. You’re a royal priesthood; you’re royalty.

This is far bigger and more transcendent than all the royal families of the world put together. Theirs is just a matter of political position. But ours is the result of our divine ancestry. Read our opening scripture in the Amplified Classic; it says “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people….”

How were you purchased? The Bible says, “You must know (recognize) that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold, But [you were purchased] with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot” (1 Peter 1:18-19 AMPC).

The blood of Jesus represents His life; that’s your true value. And because of that blood with which you were purchased, you live above the corrupting influences of this world. Yours is the true royal bloodline. Your heavenly Father is the Monarch of the universe, and you’re His heir—His purchased, priceless possession!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the blood of Jesus gives me remission, justification, redemption, access, fellowship, cleansing and the blessings of the New Testament. I’m born of His Word, a new creation, superior to Satan, the world and its failing systems and elements. Blessed be God!

“하나님께서는 이방 사람 가운데 나타난 이 비밀의 영광이 얼마나 풍성한지를 성도들에게 알리려고 하셨습니다. 이 비밀은 여러분 안에 계신 그리스도요, 곧 영광의 소망입니다.”(골 1:27, 새번역)

우리는 기독교를 종교로 받아들이지 않았습니다. 우리가 실제로 받은 것은 하나님의 본성, 곧 그분의 생명입니다. 누군가가 당신에게 기독교가 이 세상에 있는 종교 중 하나로 받아드리도록 속이지 못하게 하십시오. 기독교는 종교가 아닙니다. 기독교는 관계입니다. 곧 영광과 사랑의 초월적인 삶으로의 부르심입니다. 누군가와 관계를 쌓는다면, 그것은 종교라고 할 수 없습니다.

기독교를 종교로 묘사하는 사람들은 종교인들이 행하는 모든 외적인 일들이 그리스도인들이 행하는 외적인 일들 중 일부와 일치하는 것처럼 보이기 때문에 그렇게 말하곤 합니다. 예를 들어, 종교 안에서도 그들은 기도하고, 또 그들이 읽는 책들도 있습니다. 또한 그들이 따르는 종교 의식과 행위가 정해져 있습니다.

기독교에는 성찬식, 침례 등과 같은 의식이 있습니다. 하지만 이러한 의식을 한다고 종교가 되는 것은 아닙니다. 동물을 보고 “두 손과 두 다리가 있고 걸을 수 있다면 그것은 인간입니다.” 라고 말하지 않습니다. 그것으로 충분하지 않습니다. 만약 그렇지 않다면, 고릴라와 다른 유인원도 인간으로 분류될 수 있었을 것입니다.

CHRISTIANITY: A CALL TO THE TRANSCENDENT LIFE

“God did this because he wanted you Gentiles to understand his wonderful and glorious mystery. And the mystery is that Christ lives in you…”(Colossians 1:27 CEV).

In Christianity, we haven’t embraced a religion; what we’ve actually received is God’s nature—His life. Don’t let anyone deceive you that Christianity is just one of the religions in the world; it’s not. It’s a relationship; a call to the transcendent life of glory and love. When you have a relationship with someone, that isn’t religion.

Those who describe Christianity as a religion do so because all the outward things that religious people do seem to be consistent with some of the outward things Christians do. For example, in religion, they pray, or probably have a book that they read; they also have religious rites and rituals that they follow.

In Christianity, we have sacraments like the Holy Communion, Water Baptism, etc.; yet, that doesn’t make it a religion. You can’t look at an animal and say “If it has two hands and two legs and can walk, then it is a human being”; that isn’t enough. Otherwise, Gorillas and other apes will be categorized as humans.

Christianity is a real experience; it’s the active life of God in a human being; it’s Christ alive in you; it’s a real comradeship with the real and living Christ—a call to oneness with divinity: “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). Hallelujah! In Christianity, we live and move in Christ (Acts 17:28); we’re members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones (Ephesians 5:30).

Colossians 1:26-27 consummates it all! It says, “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Christianity is Christ alive in the quarters of your heart; a real relationship with a real God. Christianity is a walk with God in righteousness. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

Christ in me has made me an associate of the God-kind, the effulgence of God’s glory, and dispenser of His goodness to my world. Christ is my life; in Him, I live, and move and have my being! I’m fruitful, productive and excellent, because I’m one with the Lord, in a real relationship, being a member of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. Blessed be God!

Keep Your Heart Sanctified

오늘의 본문 구절에서 “지키다”라는 단어는 무언가를 숨기라는 뜻이 아닙니다. 이 단어는 히브리어로 “나트사(natsar)”로 어떤 소중한 것을 지키기 위해 강한 요새로 둘러 쌓는다는 뜻입니다. 말씀으로 당신의 마음을 거룩하게 유지하십시오.

성경이 당신의 마음을 지키는 것, 즉 온전한 마음을 유지하는 것을 중요하게 여기는 이유는 생명의 문제가 마음에서 나오기 때문입니다. 모든 것은 당신의 마음으로부터 흘러나옵니다. 다시 말해, 당신이 인생에서 필요한 모든 것은 사실 지금 당신의 마음 안에 있는 것입니다.

고백

KEEP YOUR HEART SANCTIFIED

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life”(Proverbs 4:23).

The word “keep” in the opening text doesn’t mean to hide something. The Hebrew word is “nâtsar”, and it gives the picture of a stronghold mounted over something valuable. Thus, you’re to mount guard over your heart; keep your heart sanctified with the Word.

The reason the Bible places a premium on mounting guard over your heart—maintaining a perfect heart—is that out of it are the issues of life. Everything flows from your heart. In other words, everything you need for life is actually in your heart right now.

Everywhere you would ever go, everything you would ever have, everything thing you’d ever enjoy in this world is in your heart. The Bible says He has set eternity in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The Kingdom of God is in our hearts (Luke 17:21). What then are you supposed to do?

Fill your heart with the Word so only good will always come forth from your heart. Never let anything unwholesome take root in your heart. Pride, anger, malice, bitterness, hatred—these are poisonous to the heart.

Philippians 4:8 gives us an idea of what God wants you to fill your heart with: things that are honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. Nothing meets this qualification better than God’s Word. That’s why you must allow the Word of God to dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16).

CONFESSION

My thoughts are renewed by the Word, and therefore filled with things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of a good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. I stay my mind, brood, meditate and think on the Word, as it creates and produces in me ideas and pictures of success, endless possibilities and victories, love and fellowship with God. Hallelujah!

We Were In Him

오늘의 본문 구절은 정말 심오합니다! 사도 바울은 주님과 우리의 연합으로 우리가 예수님의 십자가, 죽음, 장사되심과 부활에 함께했다는 영적인 진리를 강조하며 이렇게 말합니다. “허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고…”(엡 2:5)

WE WERE IN HIM

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”(Ephesians 2:4-5).

What a profound portion of scripture we just read! The Apostle Paul explains a spiritual truth that emphasizes our union with the Lord in His crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection when he said, “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ…” (Ephesians 2:5).

When Jesus was on the cross, we were the ones on the cross; He was our substitute. When He died, we were in Him. When He was buried, in the mind of justice, we were all buried. When He went to hell and defeated Satan and the demons of darkness, as Paul detailed in Colossians 2:15, in the mind of God, we were in Him! We defeated Satan in Christ.

Then the Bible shows that God raised Jesus from the dead; when that happened, we were raised together with Him. Ephesians 2:6-7 says, “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus….” This is how God sees us now. Everything that Jesus did was for us—the whole world—we were in Him.

Think about it: Jesus rose from the dead with a new life—the resurrection life; that’s the life we have in us today, because as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). When you received Christ, you didn’t receive the life with which Jesus went to hell; you received the life of the righteous Jesus without sin.

He went to hell with our sins, defeated the devil, paid the full penalty for sin, and came back to life as the righteousness of God. Hallelujah! Now by virtue of the New Birth, we also have become the righteousness of God in Him: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus that ushered me into a newness of life. I’m seated together with Christ in dominion and great glory, far above all principalities, powers, might, and every name that is named. Hallelujah!

Equal Ownership

어떤 성경 번역가들은 사도 바울이 우리를 그리스도와 함께한 “공동상속자(joint-heirs)”라고 했을 때, 사도 바울을 통해 나타난 성령의 언어에 대해 고심했습니다. 그들의 신학에 비해 너무 큰 개념이었기 때문입니다. 따라서 몇몇은 원어인 그리스어 “소클레로노모스(sugkleronomos)”의 뜻인 “공동상속자(joint-heirs)”라는 단어 대신 “분할상속자(co-heirs)”라고 번역했습니다.

EQUAL OWNERSHIP

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together”(Romans 8:16-17).

Some Bible Translators grappled with the Spirit’s communication through the apostle Paul in our opening scripture when He referred to us as “joint-heirs” with Christ. It was too big for their theology. Therefore, some of them decided to translate it as “co-heirs” instead staying with the original Greek rendering which is “sugklēronomos”; joint-heirs.

A “Co-heir” shares in the inheritance, but not in joint-ownership. Unlike co-heirs, joint-heirs own the inheritance jointly, with undivided interest; they have equal rights to the entire inheritance. Let’s put it this way: while co-heirs can share it thirty-seventy or sixty-forty, or some other relevant fractions, the case with joint heirship is that, no one gets anything without the other; they have equal ownership over the whole hundred percent.

To be a joint heir with Christ means everything that belongs to Him belongs to you, in the same way and degree that it belongs to Him. No wonder the Word declares that in Christ, all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). Praise God!

How can you know this and be limited in life? Nothing should limit you; not your job or business. Nothing should get you hemmed in financially, because you’re an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ. Think about what He owns, then you’ll know how limitless and unsearchable your riches and resources are.

You have all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Therefore, lift your head above the clouds, and think like God; live a limitless life. Meditate on this truth today that you’re a joint heir with Christ, and your creativity, ingenuity, inventiveness, and innovativeness will come alive; you’ll become a solution provider!

CONFESSION

I’m a joint heir with Christ, and an heir of God’s Kingdom of blessings! I have all things that pertain to life and godliness. I walk in divine health and prosperity, and function from a position of victory and unending success in Christ. I flourish exceedingly in every good work, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

RECREATED IN CHRIST

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]”(Ephesians 2:10 AMPC).

Observe that the apostle Paul didn’t say “We were or we shall be God’s own handiwork.” He uses the present tense to describe that right now, God has His label on you. In other words, no matter where you go in this great world; in the realms of the spirit, they recognize who you are because God’s label is on you.

You’re recreated in Christ Jesus. Someone might say, “But God created everything, so everyone is his workmanship!” That’s different from Paul’s thoughts. There was the first creation in the book of Genesis, but Paul’s emphasis was on a special creation—a recreation in Christ Jesus—those of us who are born again.

Then he tells us the purpose of this new birth: that we may do those good works which God predestined and planned beforehand for us, taking paths which He prepared ahead of time. Hallelujah! Again, this shows that those of us that have been recreated in Christ, God has prepared our paths—everything about our lives—to be excellent and full of glory.

That’s not all; we’re to live, not just life, but the “good life” which He prearranged and made ready for you to live. Now, you can better understand why sickness, disease, infirmity and poverty shouldn’t be a part of your life! Let this be your confession. Every so often, declare, “I’m recreated in Christ, for beauty and for glory; good things are in my path, and the righteousness of God is expressed in and through me always.” Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for I’m your excellent handiwork, fashioned for good works, and to live the good life which you prearranged for me. I refuse to succumb to sickness, disease, or the elements of this world, because you’ve made me superior to them and the corrupting influences and negativities in this present world of darkness. Glory to God!

말씀으로 반응하십시오

Respond With The Word

“뿌리는 자는 말씀을 뿌리는 것이라 말씀이 길 가에 뿌려졌다는 것은 이들을 가리킴이니 곧 말씀을 들었을 때에 사탄이 즉시 와서 그들에게 뿌려진 말씀을 빼앗는 것이요”(막 4:14-15)

마태복음 13:1-23, 마가복음 4:1-20, 누가복음 8:4-15에는 예수님께서 영적인 교훈을 가르치시기 위해 사용하신 씨 뿌리는 자의 비유가 기록되어 있습니다. 예수님은 이 비유를 설명하시며 길가에 뿌려진 씨는 하나님의 말씀을 듣고도 이해하지 못한 자들을 가리킨다고 말씀하셨습니다. 그래서 사탄이 곧 와서 그 마음에서 말씀을 도적질해갑니다(막 4:14-15).

이는 사탄이 말씀을 주시하고 있다는 뜻입니다. 하나님의 말씀이 당신에게 임할 때 사탄도 다가옵니다. 하나님의 말씀이 처음으로 예수님께 공개적으로 임했을 때, 사탄도 그곳에 있었음을 기억하십시오. 마태복음 3:17에서 하나님은 하늘로부터 말씀하셨습니다. “이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라.”

사탄도 그 즉시 예수님께 다가와 시험하여 말했습니다. “…네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 명하여 이 돌들로 떡덩이가 되게 하라.”(마 4:3) 사탄은 예수님께 임한 말씀에 도전했지만 예수님께서는 말씀으로 반응하셨습니다. “기록되었으되 사람이 떡으로만 살 것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로부터 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라 하였느니라 하시니.”(마 4:4) 예수님은 사탄에게 성경을 다시 한번 확증하셨습니다.

당신의 삶과 미래를 위한 하나님의 영광이나 능력에 관한 말씀이 당신에게 임할 때, 영으로 그 말씀을 받고 묵상을 통해 이를 심령 깊이 뿌리내리십시오. 사탄이 당신에게서 말씀을 훔치거나 빼앗는 것을 거절하십시오. 사탄은 시도할 것입니다. 그는 미사일처럼 당신에게 불화살을 던질 것입니다. 그러나 예수님이 하셨던 것처럼 말씀으로 반응하십시오!

당신의 입에 있는 하나님의 말씀은 원수를 산산조각 내고 마귀의 계획과 책략과 노력을 무력화시키는 성령의 검입니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 성령으로 말미암아 말씀에 대한 정확한 이해를 가지고 있으며, 말씀을 올바르게 적용하여 나의 삶, 가정, 사역, 나와 관련된 모든 일에서 결과를 냅니다. 나는 믿음, 온유함, 기쁨으로 말씀을 듣고 받아들이며, 말씀은 내 안에 뿌리를 내려 말씀이 약속한 바를 열매 맺습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

RESPOND WITH THE WORD

“The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts”(Mark 4:14-15).

Matthew 13:1–23, Mark 4:1–20, and Luke 8:4–15 record a simple story Jesus used to illustrate and teach spiritual lessons: the parable of the sower. In explaining the parable, Jesus said the seeds that fell by the wayside represented those who hear the Word of God and don’t understand it. Thus, Satan comes immediately and steals the Word from their hearts (Mark 4:14-15).

This means Satan is watching out for the Word. When the Word of God comes to you, Satan comes also. Recall the first time the Word of God came to Jesus openly, Satan came also. In Matthew 3:17, God said from heaven, “…this is my beloveth son in whom I am well pleased.”

Immediately, Satan also came and tempted Jesus, saying, “…If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread” (Matthew 4:3). He challenged the Word that came to Jesus. but Jesus responded with the Word, saying, “…It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). He affirmed scriptures back to Satan.

When the Word comes to you about the glory or the power of God for your life and future, receive it with your spirit, and through meditation, drive it deep into your heart. Refuse to allow Satan to steal or take the Word away from you; he will try. He’ll throw his darts at you like missiles. But do what Jesus did; respond with the Word!

The Word of God in your mouth is the sword of the Spirit that cuts the adversary in pieces and discomfits his agenda, stratagems and manoeuvres. Hallelujah!

Prayer

Dear Father, by your Spirit, I have an accurate understanding of the Word and apply it rightly to produce results in my life, family, ministry and all that concerns me. I hear and receive the Word into my heart with faith, meekness and gladness for it to take root in me and produce the fruits of what it talks about, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
