Listen To What You’re Singing

사람들이 성경을 이해하지 못하면, 그것이 그들이 부르는 노래에서 드러납니다. 많은 세월 동안, 하나님의 백성들은 그들의 감정에 큰 영향을 미치지만 참되고 지속적인 영적 효과를 주지 않는 비성경적인 노래들을 많이 불러왔습니다.

그러한 노래 중 하나는 “나의 잔을 채우소서(Fill my cup, Lord; 우물가의 여인처럼)”라는 찬송가입니다. 많은 사람들이 기쁨으로 이 노래를 부르지만, 그들은 주님께 “우리의 잔을 채우소서”라고 간청할 때 그것이 진정으로 무엇을 의미하는지는 대답하지 못합니다. 그들은 무엇으로 주님께서 그들의 잔을 채우길 원하는 것입니까? 이 노래의 한 구절은 이렇게 말합니다. “내게 오셔서 나의 영혼의 목마름을 없애 주소서…”

그 다음 노래구절에서는 이렇게 말합니다. “하늘 양식 내게 채워 주소서 넘치도록 채워 주소서…” 어떻게 이럴 수 있습니까? 요한복음 6:35에서 예수님은 이렇게 선언하셨습니다. “예수께서 이르시되 나는 생명의 떡이니 내게 오는 자는 결코 주리지 아니할 터이요 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 목마르지 아니하리라.” 이 구절은 당신에게 예수님이 있다면 다시는 주리고 목마르지 않을 것이라는 것을 매우 분명히 말합니다.

사람들은 정확히 깨닫지 못하므로 그런 찬양곡을 부릅니다. 시편 82:5은 말합니다. “그들은 알지도 못하고 깨닫지도 못하여 흑암 중에 왕래하니…” 그저 노래가 듣기 좋다는 이유만으로 그 노래를 부르지 마십시오. 가사를 들어보십시오. 그 가사들이 그리스도의 복음이 공급하는 것들과 일치하는지 점검하십시오.

주 예수님은 어떠한 티나 주름 잡힌 것 등 이러한 결점이 없는 교회를 위하여 오십니다(엡 5:27). 그리고 그분은 우리가 더 이상 온갖 교리의 풍조에 요동하는 어린 아이에서 벗어나(엡 4:14) 우리 주 곧 구주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 그를 아는 지식에서 자라가야 한다고 말씀하십니다(벧후 3:18). 그러므로 예배 가운데 찬양을 부를 때, 하나님의 말씀의 진리를 아는 지식과 이해 안에서 경배하십시오.

Listen To What You’re Singing

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him”(John 4:23).

When people don’t understand the Scriptures, it shows in the songs they sing. Through the years, God’s people have sung many unscriptural songs that affected their emotions, but hadn’t any true and lasting spiritual impact.

One of such songs is the hymn, “Fill my cup, Lord”. Many sing it with delight, yet they fail to ask themselves what they really mean when they ask the Lord to “fill their cup.” With what do they want Him to fill it? Another line of the song says, “Come and quench this thirsting of my soul….”

If you have Christ, you’ll never thirst again. Jesus said to the woman at the well, “…whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:13-14). Those are the words of Jesus. So, how can you still be thirsty?

Then they sing, “Bread of Heaven, feed me ’til I want no more….” How could that be? In John 6:35, Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” This makes it crystal clear that if you have Jesus, you’ll never hunger and thirst again.

People still sing such hymns because they don’t know. Psalm 82:5 says, “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness….” Don’t just sing a song because it sounds nice; listen to the words; be sure they’re consistent with the provisions of the Gospel of Christ.

The Lord Jesus is coming for a Church without spot, without wrinkle, without blemish or any such thing (Ephesians 5:27). And He says we should be no more children, tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine

(Ephesians 4:14); but we should rather grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). So, when you sing in worship, let it be with the knowledge and understanding of the truth of God’s Word.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for filling me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, to know and worship you in spirit and truth. Your Word is the basis for my relationship with you; therefore, I’ll be diligent to making sure my songs of praise are consistent with your word always, for your Word is truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Understanding The Gospel

복음의 축복을 완전하게 누리기 위해서는 먼저 예수 그리스도의 복음이 무엇인지 이해해야 합니다. 당신이 이해할 때 진정 믿을 수 있습니다. 잠언 4:7은 말합니다. “…네가 얻은 모든 것을 가지고 명철을 얻을지니라.” 복음을 이해하는 것은 매우 중요합니다. 바울은 말했습니다. “내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라 먼저는 유대인에게요 그리고 헬라인에게로다”(롬 1:16).

그렇다면 복음은 무엇입니까? 간단히 말해서, 복음은 예수 그리스도에 관한 하나님의 말씀입니다. 곧, 그분이 누구이며 그분이 어떤 사역을 하러 이 땅에 오셨는지에 대한 말씀입니다. 이에 대해 이해를 갖는 것은 지속적으로 승리하는 그리스도인의 삶을 사는 데 반드시 필요합니다.

예수님께서 씨 뿌리는 자의 비유를 말씀하셨습니다. 씨 뿌리는 자가 씨를 뿌릴 때에 더러는 길가에 떨어져서 공중의 새들이 와서 주워 갔습니다. 주님께서는 이 비유를 해석해 주시며 씨가 곧 하나님의 말씀이라고 알려주셨습니다. 예수님께서는 더 나아가 길가에 떨어진 씨는 하나님의 말씀을 듣고도 깨닫지 못하는 자들이며, 사탄이 곧 나타나 그들의 마음에 뿌려진 말씀을 빼앗는다고 말씀하셨습니다(막 4:15). 말씀이 실제로 그들의 마음에 들어왔지만, 그들이 말씀에 대한 이해력이 부족했기 때문에 마귀가 말씀을 빼앗아 간 것입니다. 당신은 복음의 내용을 이해해야 합니다. 당신이 복음을 이해할 때, 당신의 인생은 활짝 꽃피게 됩니다. 당신은 더 이상 또 다른 “불”을 받으러 다닐 필요가 없습니다. 자신의 삶에서 역사하시는 성령님의 사역을 이해하기 때문입니다.

성령께서 에베소서 1:18에서 바울을 통해 이렇게 기도하신 것은 놀라운 일이 아닙니다. “너희 마음의 눈을 밝히사 그의 부르심의 소망이 무엇이며 성도 안에서 그 기업의 영광의 풍성함이 무엇이며.” 당신이 이해하는 심령을 가지고 있으며, 당신의 영에 복음의 신비가 밝혀지고 있음을 계속 고백하십시오. 날마다 복음의 충만한 축복 가운데 걷고 있음을 선포하십시오. 할렐루야!

Understanding The Gospel

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…“(Romans 1:16).

To walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel, you must first understand what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. That’s when you can really believe it. Proverbs 4:7 says, “…with all thy getting get understanding.” Understanding the Gospel is so important. Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).

So, what’s the Gospel? In a nutshell, it’s the Word of God concerning Jesus Christ: who He is and His mission; what He came to do. Having this understanding is imperative to living a consistently victorious Christian life.

Jesus told a parable of the sower that went forth to sow, and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside and the birds of the air came and picked them up. In His interpretation, Jesus said the seed is the Word of God. He went further to say that the seeds that fell by the wayside are those who hear the Word of God and don’t understand it; then Satan comes immediately, and takes away the Word that was sown in their hearts (Mark 4:15). The Word actually got into their hearts, but because they lacked understanding, the devil took it away from them. You need to understand the message of the Gospel. Once you understand it, you’re set for life; you’ll never need “another fire,” because you’ve come to understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life.

No wonder the Spirit prays through Paul in Ephesians 1:18: “that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened to know the hope of God’s calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance amongst them that are sanctified.” Every so often, affirm that you have an understanding heart, and that the mysteries of the Gospel are unveiled to your spirit, and you walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel every day. Hallelujah!

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for showing me the awesome power that’s wrapped up in the Gospel. Through your Word, I’ve discovered the glorious provisions I have in Christ Jesus! I’ve been born into glory, and I walk in victory today and always, and I’m inspired to share this Good News with everyone, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Praying In Line With His Desire

“우리가 그분 안에서 가지는 확신(보장, 담대함의 특권)이 이것이니, [우리가 확신하기로] 그분의 뜻대로 (그분의 계획과 일치하는) 무엇이든지 구하면 (어떤 요청을 하든지), 그분께서 우리를 들으시는 것이라”(요일 5:14, 확대번역본)

때때로 사람들은 “아버지, 당신의 뜻이 이루어지게 하시옵소서”의 의미를 깨닫지 못한 채 이렇게 기도합니다. 이는 대충 할 수 있는 말이 아닙니다. 그저 “뜻이 이루어질지어다” 라고 기도하는 것이 아니라 그 뜻이 무엇인지 알아야 합니다. 예수님께서 기도하시면서 그렇게 말씀하셨을 때, 그분은 아버지의 뜻이 무엇인지 정확히 아시고 말씀하셨습니다.

당신이 어떤 상황 가운데 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지기를 기도하기 전에 그 뜻이 무엇인지 잘 알아야 합니다. 뜻과 갈망은 다릅니다. 특정 시점에 하나님의 뜻일지라도 그것이 하나님의 갈망은 아닐 수도 있습니다. 제가 성경에서 예시를 하나 들어보겠습니다. 이사야서 38장은 병든 히스기야 왕 이야기를 들려줍니다. 이사야 선지자는 하나님으로부터 보내심을 받아서, 히스기야 왕에게 그가 곧 죽을 것이므로 그의 집을 정리하라고 말해야 했습니다. 그 당시, 하나님께서는 히스기야 왕의 생명에 관한 그분의 분명한 뜻을 말씀하셨습니다.

이사야 선지자로부터 이 메시지를 들은 히스기야 왕은 얼굴을 벽 쪽으로 돌리고 하나님께 울며 기도했습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “너는 가서 히스기야에게 이르기를 네 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 네 수한에 십오 년을 더하고”(사 38:5) 하나님을 찬양합니다!

만일 히스기야 왕이 자신이 죽을 것이라는 말을 들었을 때 “주님의 뜻이 이루어지이다”라고 대답했다면 그는 죽었을 것입니다. 그러나 히스기야 왕은 그것이 자신을 향한 하나님의 갈망이 아닌 것을 알았습니다. 그는 하나님께서 자신을 그분의 찬양을 위해 창조하셨다는 것을 알았습니다. 그래서 그는 주님께 이렇게 기도했습니다. “… 죽은 사람은 아무도 주님을 찬양할 수 없습니다. 제가 오늘 주님을 찬양하듯 오직 살아 있는 사람만이 주님을 찬양할 수 있습니다…”(사 38:18-19, 새번역)

어떤 문제에 대한 하나님의 뜻을 기도할 때, 그것이 하나님의 성품과 얼마나 일치하는지 확인해보십시오. 그때 비로소 그 문제에 대한 최고의 기도를 알게 될 것입니다. 예를 들어, 구약에서 하나님께서는 여러 전쟁 가운데 그분의 자녀들을 이끄시며 그들을 대신하여 전쟁을 치르셨습니다. 그럼에도 성경은 그분이 평화의 하나님이라고 말합니다. 그분은 성경에서 다른 어떤 이름보다도 평화의 하나님으로 알려져 있습니다. 바로 이것이 그분의 갈망을 보여줍니다. 그분이 진정 원하시는 것은 전쟁이 아닌 평화입니다. 그분에 관한 이러한 지식은 당신이 항상 하나님의 말씀 가운데 밝혀진 그분의 갈망과 일치하는 기도를 하도록 도울 것입니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 영혼이 잘됨 같이 모든 일이 잘되고 건강하기를 갈망하시는 당신의 말씀의 진리, 당신의 사랑, 당신의 영원한 친절에 영감을 받습니다. 지금도 나는 내 기도를 들으시고 응답하시는 것이 당신의 기쁨이라는 것을 아는 확신 가운데 강건 해집니다. 오늘도 내 기쁨은 충만하며 내 안에 역사하는 당신의 사랑과 능력을 확신합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

Praying In Line With His Desire

“And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us”(1 John 5:14 AMPC).

Sometimes people pray, “Father, let your will be done,” without realizing the import of this statement. It isn’t one to be made casually. You don’t just say, “Thy will be done”; you have to know what that will is. When Jesus prayed and said the same words, He knew exactly what the Father’s will was and He mentioned it.

Before you pray for God’s will to be done in a situation, you better know what that will is. There’s a difference between a will and a desire. The fact that something is God’s will at a particular point in time doesn’t mean it may be His desire. I’ll give you an example from the Bible. In Isaiah 38, the Bible tells a story about King Hezekiah who was sick. The Prophet Isaiah was sent to him by God to tell him to set his house in order because he was going to die. At that moment, God stated His clear will for King Hezekiah’s life.

After receiving this message from the prophet, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to God, weeping. The Bible says, “Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah saying, go and say to Hezekiah, thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears, behold, I will add unto thy days 15 years.” Praise God!

When Hezekiah was told he was going to die, if he had replied, “Thy will be done O Lord,” he would have died. But he knew that wasn’t God’s desire for him. He knew God created him for His praise. So, in his prayer, he said to the Lord, “…the dead cannot celebrate you. Only the living can praise you as I do this day.”

When you’re praying about the will of God on a matter, find out how consistent that thing is with His character. Only then will you know how best to pray about it. For instance, in the Old Testament, God led the children of Israel in several battles and fought wars on their behalf, yet the Bible tells us He’s a God of peace. He’s more known as the God of peace than any other name in the Bible. This shows us His desire; what He really wants is peace, not war. This kind of understanding will help you pray always in line with His desires as revealed in His Word.

Prayer

Dear Father, I’m inspired by the truth of your Word, your love and your eternal kindness which communicates your desire for us to prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. Even now, I’m strengthened in my confidence to pray, knowing that it’s your delight to hear and answer my prayers. My joy is full today, confident of your love and power at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

오늘의 본문 구절에서 하나님의 영은 사도 바울을 통해 혼적인 지식이 아닌 영적 지식 즉 계시 지식을 말씀하십니다. 우리는 자신의 삶에 대한 하나님의 뜻을 알 수 있습니다. 성경은 영적인 일들은 영적으로만 이해할 수 있다고 말합니다(고전 2:14).

당신의 영이 성령의 사역으로 말미암아 하나님의 말씀으로 계시될 때, 당신은 하나님의 뜻과 목적을 알 수 있습니다. 성령님의 인도는 우리 삶에서 매우 중요합니다. 그분은 당신의 발걸음을 인도하시며 말씀을 이해할 수 있게 하십니다. 그분과 함께 라면 당신은 결코 선택의 기로에서 고민에 빠지지 않습니다. 당신이 항상 갈망했던 성공적인 삶의 열쇠는 하나님을 알고 그분과 함께 사는 것입니다. 그분은 당신을 하나님 안에 있는 당신의 유업과 운명 안으로 인도하십니다. 할렐루야!

당신은 자신의 일에 대해서도 똑같이 할 수 있습니다. 당신의 삶 가운데 성령님의 사역이 활발히 일어나게 하십시오. 성령님께서는 당신이 하는 일에서 최고가 되는 방법을 가르쳐 주실 것입니다. 그분은 당신이 하는 모든 일에서 탁월하도록 특별한 이해력과 초자연적인 현명함을 주실 것입니다. 그분은 당신의 사고방식을 탁월하게 만드실 것입니다. 당신의 독창성, 창의력, 직관, 명석함에는 한계가 없을 것입니다!

예수님께서 요한복음 14:26에서 하신 말씀을 기억하십시오. “… 그가 너희에게 모든 것을 가르치고 내가 너희에게 말한 모든 것을 생각나게 하리라” 성령님과 함께 라면 당신은 결코 어둠 속에서 걷지 않을 것이며 그 무엇에 대해서도 혼란스러워 하지 않을 것입니다. 그분께서는 당신이 영 안에 지식과 정보를 갖도록 도우실 것이며, 필요할 때마다 그 정보가 생각나도록 하실 것입니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나를 위해 미리 예정하신 바른 길로 나를 가르치시고 인도하시며 내가 그 길을 따라갈 수 있도록 도우시는 친절하신 성령님으로 인해 감사드립니다. 나를 향한 당신의 완전한 뜻과 일치하는 바른 선택과 결정을 하도록 나를 모든 진리 가운데로 인도하시고 가르치시며 나를 완전한 성공으로 만드시는 성령님께 내 자신을 내어드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

Your Sure Guide

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God”(1 Corinthians 2:12).

The Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul in our opening scripture wasn’t referring to mental knowledge but spiritual knowledge—revelation knowledge. It’s possible for us to know the will of God for our lives. The Bible says spiritual things can only be spiritually understood (1 Corinthians 2:14).

When your spirit is enlightened by God’s Word, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, you’re able to know God’s will and purpose. The guidance of the Holy Spirit is so important in our lives. He guides your steps and grants you understanding of the Word. With Him, you’re never at a crossroads. Knowing Him and walking with Him is the key to that successful life you’ve always desired. He brings you into your inheritance and your destiny in God. Hallelujah!

If you aren’t sure about God’s perfect will on any matter, give some time to praying in the Spirit. He’s the embodiment of all knowledge. Ask Him, and He’ll reveal the knowledge or guidance you need to your spirit.

You can do the same with respect to your work; activate His ministry in your life; He’ll teach you how to be the best at what you do. He’ll grant you an extraordinary amplitude of comprehension and supernatural sagacity to excel in all that you do. He’ll make your thought- pattern excellent; your ingenuity, creativity, intuition, sharp-wittedness will be limitless!

Remember the words of Jesus in John 14:26. He assured us, “…he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26). With the Holy Spirit, you can never walk in darkness or be confused about anything. He’ll help you retain knowledge and information in your spirit, and bring that information to your consciousness when occasion demands. Hallelujah!

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for the sweet Holy Spirit, who teaches, guides and directs me on the right path you’ve preordained for me, and helps me follow through. I’m yielded to Him, for He guides me into all truth, and teaches me to make the right choices and decisions that are consistent with your perfect will for me, making me an absolute success in life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Recognize Your New Identity

기도

Recognize Your New Identity

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”(Ephesians 4:23-24).

When you were born again, you were recreated in righteousness and true holiness. Unlike the unregenerate man, you’re completely awakened to the Fatherhood of God; you’re alive to Him. 1 John 3:2 says, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God.” You’re in a sonship relationship with the Lord; you’re born of Him. That’s the meaning of 1 John 4:4: “Ye are of God, little children…”; you hail from Him; your origin is in Him. Hallelujah!

Peter calls us partakers of the divine nature (associates of the God-kind). You’ve put on the God-nature, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of God that created you (Colossians 3:10). This is your true identity. Walk in this light. You’re not the same person you were before you were born again. That’s why the Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and-look!-all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ISV).

The old sin-nature was supplanted with God’s life of righteousness. People may still associate you with some of the wrong things you did before you were born again, but the truth is, the person that did those things doesn’t exist anymore. What the Bible says about you now is that you are washed, sanctified, justified, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11). Hallelujah!

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for my new nature and identity in Christ; I’ve been washed, sanctified, justified, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit. I walk in the reality of the new life of righteousness which I’ve received in Christ, producing fruits and works of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

오늘의 본문 구절을 읽을 때 이 구절이 “죄와 사망”의 법을 하나로 말한다고 생각할 수 있습니다. 그러나 성령께서 우리에게 이 구절을 통해 말씀하시는 내용은 그것이 아닙니다. 성령께서는 죄의 법과 사망의 법을 따로 말씀하십니다. 보다 명확하게 하기 위해 단어들을 재배치해보겠습니다. “이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 ‘죄의 법(the law of sin)’과 ‘사망(death)’에서 너를 해방하였음이라”(롬 8:2) 오늘의 본문 구절을 이렇게 읽는다면, 갑자기 이해가 되고 의미가 매우 명확해집니다. “죄와 사망의 법”이 아닌 “죄의 법(혹은 원리)”이 하나, 또 다른 하나는 “사망”입니다.

이것은 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 당신을 죄에서 해방시킨 것과 같은 방식으로 죽음에서 해방시켰음을 의미합니다! 할렐루야! 이 생명의 성령의 법 혹은 생명의 법은 야고보서 1:25과 2:12에서 자유의 법으로도 불립니다. 사도 요한은 이렇게 말했습니다. “아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓰는 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라”(요일 5:12-13)

이 (영원한) 생명이 아들 안에 있고, 당신이 그 생명을 가졌기 때문에 당신은 죄, 아픔, 질병, 연약함, 죽음으로 고군분투하지 말아야 합니다. 모세는 120살의 나이에도 눈이 침침해지지 않았고 그의 기력이 쇠하지 않았다는 사실에 대해 생각해보십시오(신 34:7).

Sin-free And Death-free

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death”(Romans 8:2).

When you read today’s theme verse as it’s presented, you’re likely to think it’s talking about the law of “sin and death” as one entity. But that’s not what the Spirit is communicating to us here. He’s actually referring to the law of sin on the one hand, and to death on the other. For clarity, we could rearrange the words, and the verse would read: “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from ‘death’ and ‘the law of sin’” (Romans 8:2). When you read it this way, it suddenly opens up and the meaning becomes very clear: it’s not “the law of sin and death” but “the law (or principle) of sin” on the one hand, and “death” on the other.

This means the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you death-free, in the same way that it made you sin-free! Hallelujah! This law of the spirit of life or law of life is also referred to as the law of liberty in James 1:25; 2:12. John said, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you…that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1 John 5:12-13a).

This (eternal) life is in the Son, and since you have it, you’re not supposed to struggle with sin, sickness, disease, infirmities, and death. Think about this: at 120 years, Moses’ eyes weren’t dim and his natural force was unabated (Deuteronomy 34:7).

Moses lived under the Old Covenant, but he had a consciousness of life; He knew the Word of God invigorates and makes alive (Deuteronomy 32:46-47). Have the same mentality, because when you were born again, you passed from death to life, and from sin into righteousness. Hallelujah!

Confession

I’ve been translated from the realm of death into the realm of life! In my path, there’s no death; there’s no darkness; the God-life is inherent in me; therefore, I refuse to accommodate anything that’s of darkness, for I live by the law of the Spirit of life, and in that realm, only life controls. Hallelujah!

Your Heart Is His New Altar

“우주와 그 가운데 있는 만물을 지으신 하나님께서는 천지의 주재시니 손으로 지은 전에 계시지 아니하시고”(행 17:24)

여전히 많은 사람들이 “하나님을 만나는” 특별한 “제단”을 갖고 싶어합니다. 그들이 주님과 교통하는 집 안 어떤 특별한 방일 수도 있고, 거실 한 구석일 수도 있습니다. 언제든지 주님과 개인적인 시간을 갖는 것은 중요하지만, 우리는 그분을 만나기 위해 “특별한 제단”을 만들 필요가 없습니다. 이제 우리가 그분의 살아있는 성전이기 때문입니다. 당신의 심령이 그분의 새로운 제단입니다.

당신이 어디에 있든지 당신이 있는 바로 그곳이 하나님의 임재가 있는 장소입니다. 당신은 방에서 기도할 수도 있고, 부엌에서 방언으로 기도할 수도 있고, 화장실에서 영으로 경배드릴 수도 있습니다! 그리고 당신과 만난 사람은 누구든지 신성을 만난 것입니다. 바로 당신이 하나님을 운반하는 자이고 그분의 임재의 집이기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

고백

나는 하나님의 운반자이고 그분의 임재의 집입니다. 그러므로 나는 절대 실패하거나 패배할 수 없습니다. 내 안에 위대한 분이 계시기 때문입니다. 나는 오늘 그분의 신성한 임재로 내 세상에 영향을 끼치며, 내 환경을 그분의 영광과 의로 가득하게 합니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

Your Heart Is His New Altar

“This God made the world and everything in it. He is Lord of heaven and earth, and he doesn’t live in temples built by human hands”(Acts 17:24).

Many today still love to have special “altars” where they “meet with God.” It might be a particular room in the house or a corner of the living room where they commune with the Lord. While it’s important for us to get some privacy with the Lord whenever possible, we really don’t need to create “special altars” today to meet Him. We’re now His living tabernacles; your heart is His new altar.

In the Old Testament, men and women built altars where they worshipped the Lord. These altars became the place where they met with God and received direction. Jacob, for example, had to return to Bethel where he first built an altar to the Lord (Genesis 35:3). Genesis 8:20 tells us about Noah; he “…builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.” This was the old order.

Today, where you are is where the altar is, for the altar is in the temple, and you’re the temple of the living God: 2 Corinthians 6:16, “For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 1 Corinthians 3:16: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

Everywhere you are is the place of His presence. You can pray in your room, speak in tongues in the kitchen, and worship in the Spirit even in the bathroom! And anyone who comes in contact with you is in contact with divinity because you’re a God-carrier, the home of His presence. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I’m a God-carrier, the home of His presence; I could never fail or be defeated, because the greater One lives in me. I impact my world with His divine presence today, and saturate my environment with His glory and righteousness. Blessed be God!

The Practical Understanding Of Worship

신약성경에서 “예배”라는 단어의 사용이 그리스도인들을 향한 것이 아니었다는 사실은 당신을 놀라게 할 수도 있습니다. 당연히 이 단어는 사복음서(마태복음, 마가복음, 누가복음, 요한복음)에서 발견할 수 있지만, 예수님은 이를 그리스도인이 아닌 유대인에게 말씀하셨습니다. 사도행전에서 “예배”는 네 번 사용되었으며, 그 중 교회에 적용된 내용은 없습니다.

당신은 이 단어가 고린도전서에 한 번, 히브리서에 두 번 등장하는 것을 찾을 수 있습니다. 그러나, 요한계시록에서는 예배라는 단어가 22번이나 언급됩니다! 당신은 “우리가 그렇게 중요하게 말하는 것이 어떻게 서신서에서는 빠질 수 있을까?” 라며 의아해할 수 있습니다.

이것이 바로 예배에서 우리가 예배했다는 사실 그 자체가 중요하지 않은 이유입니다. 예배를 받으시는 분께서 받아들이셨는지가 중요합니다. 하나님의 말씀을 통해 당신의 영에 조정이 일어나며 성령과의 교제가 당신의 영을 경배자로 만듭니다. 바로 그것이 예배를 드릴 때 아버지께서 보시는 것입니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 당신을 향한 나의 사랑을 표현할 수 있는 특권을 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 당신의 위대함, 친절, 사랑, 자비, 은혜를 송축합니다! 당신은 열방을 다스리시며, 만왕의 왕이시고, 만주의 주이십니다. 오늘 나는 당신께 찬양의 제사를 드립니다. 이는 곧 이 마지막 때에 당신의 교회를 통해 하신 모든 일들과 앞으로 일어날 더 위대한 일들에 대한 감사를 고백하는 입술의 열매입니다! 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

The Practical Understanding Of Worship

“For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers”(Romans 1:9).

In the New Testament, it may surprise you to know that the use of the term “worship” is hardly applied to Christians. Of course, you find the term used in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), but in the gospels, Jesus dealt with Jews, not Christians. In the Book of Acts, “worship” is used about four times, and in none of those occasions was it really applied to the Church.

Then you find the word only used once in First Corinthians, and twice in Hebrews. However, when you go into the Book of Revelation, worship is used about 22 times! “How could such a thing that we say is so important be missing in the epistles?” you may wonder.

It’s because, in the epistles, the Lord is actually giving us a practical understanding of worship; He tells us exactly what worship is. Remember, in John 4:24, He had said, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship (Greek: proskuneō) him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” So, in the epistles, instead of the term, “worship”, the Apostle Paul gives us a particular phrase in our theme verse which sufficiently corroborates the words of Jesus in John 4:24. It’s the phrase “Serve with my spirit.”

Serving God with your spirit includes worship, because worship in the New Testament is different from worship in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, it was mostly outward in nature. But in the New Testament, it’s spiritual, even in the cases where we have outward demonstrations.

This is why it’s important to understand that what matters in the worship isn’t that we worshipped; it’s whether the One that we worshipped accepted it. There’s a conditioning of your spirit through the Word of God, through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit that makes your spirit a worshiper. The Father seeks such to worship Him.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the privilege to express my love for you. I bless you for your greatness, kindness, love, mercies and grace! You’re the Governor among the nations, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I offer to you today my sacrifice of praise, the fruit of my lips, giving you thanks for all you’ve done through your Church in these last days and even the greater works ahead! Be magnified continually, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

그리스도인은 아무것도 염려해서는 안 된다는 사실이 좋지 않습니까? 아무것도 염려하지 않는다면 삶의 스트레스가 없어집니다. 걱정은 오직 상황을 악화시킬 뿐입니다. 예수님께서 마태복음 6:27에서 하신 말씀을 기억하십시오. 예수님께서는 “그러면 너희 중에 누가 염려함으로 너희의 삶에 무엇이라도 더할 수 있겠느냐?”고 물으셨습니다. 집세에 대해 걱정하기를 거절하십시오. 당신의 건강에 대해 걱정하기를 거절하십시오. 어떠한 것도 걱정하지 않기로 선택하십시오!

어떤 사람들은 자신들이 걱정하고 당황할 때까지 하나님께서 그들의 상황에 대해 아무 일도 하지 않으실 것이라고 생각합니다. 하지만 이들이 모르는 사실은 걱정이 실제로 그들의 삶 가운데 하나님의 능력을 줄어들게 만든다는 것입니다. 염려가 어떤 긍정적인 효과를 가지고 있었다면 하나님은 다음과 같이 말씀하셨을 것입니다. “걱정하십시오. 아니, 심히 걱정하십시오.” 그러나 하나님은 결코 그런 말씀을 하지 않으셨습니다. 오히려 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “그러므로 무엇을 먹을까, 무엇을 마실까, 무엇을 입을까, 하고 걱정하지 말아라. 이 모든 것은 모두 이방사람들이 구하는 것이요, 너희의 하늘 아버지께서는 이 모든 것이 너희에게 필요하다는 것을 아신다.”(마6:31-32, 새번역)

염려는 “악한 자의 불화살”(엡 6:16)입니다. 따라서 걱정이 당신을 공격할 때, 말씀을 사용하여 걱정을 대적하십시오. 매일 하나님의 말씀을 실천하기로 결심하십시오. 하나님의 말씀은 말합니다. “마음을 졸이거나 염려하지 마십시오. 염려 대신 기도하십시오. 간구와 찬양으로 여러분의 염려를 기도로 바꾸어, 하나님께 여러분의 필요를 알리십시오. 그러면 여러분도 모르는 사이에 하나님의 온전하심에 대한 감각, 곧 모든 것이 협력하여 선을 이루게 된다는 믿음이 생겨나서 여러분의 마음을 안정시켜 줄 것입니다. 그리스도께서 여러분 삶의 중심에서 염려를 쫓아내실 때 일어나는 일은 실로 놀랍기 그지없습니다”(빌 4:6-7 메시지성경) 할렐루야!

고백

나는 염려하기를 거절하므로 하나님의 말씀으로 걱정을 물리칩니다. 나는 어떤 것에 대해서도 불안해하지 않으며, 모든 일에 대해 구할 것을 하나님께 아룁니다. 그러면 모든 지각을 뛰어넘는 하나님의 평강이 내 마음과 생각을 지킵니다. 모든 것이 합력하여 나의 선을 이루고 있습니다. 그러므로 나는 결코 불이익을 당할 수 없습니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

Worry Makes Things Worse

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus”(Philippians 4:6-7 TLB).

Don’t you just like the fact that as a Christian, you’re not supposed to worry over anything? It takes the stress out of life. Worrying only makes things worse. Recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:27 (TPT); He asked, “So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?” Refuse to worry about your rent. Refuse to worry about your health. Refuse to worry about anything!

Some people believe until they’re worried and flustered, God won’t do anything about their situation. What they don’t know is that worry actually short-circuits the power of God in one’s life. If worrying had any positive effects, God would have said, “Be worried; in fact, be very worried.” But He never said that. Rather, He said, “…forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘what will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require?” (Matthew 6:31-32 TPT).

Worry is a “fiery dart of the wicked” (Ephesians 6:16); so, when it attacks you, repel it. Use the Word against it. Every day, be resolute that you’re going to practise God’s Word. His Word says, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life” (Philippians 4:6-7 MSG). Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I refuse to worry and therefore repel worry with God’s Word. I’m anxious for nothing, but in everything, I make my requests known to God, and the peace of God that passes all understanding garrisons my heart and mind. All things are working together for my good; I can never be disadvantaged. Blessed be God!

Connect With Your Faith

“찬송하리로다 하나님 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지께서 그리스도 안에서 하늘에 속한 모든 신령한 복을 우리에게 주시되”(엡 1:3)

사도 바울은 오늘 본문구절을 통해 우리가 그리스도 안에서 모든 신령한 축복을 받았음을 알려줍니다. 바울은 고린도전서 3:21을 통해 이 내용을 더욱 강조합니다. “… 만물이 다 너희 것임이라.” 같은 맥락에서 그는 우리에게 다음과 같이 말합니다. “(하나님의) 신성한 권능이 생명과 하나님의 성품에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨도다.”(벧후 1:3 한글킹제임스)

당신이 모든 일에 있어서 모든 것으로 축복을 받았다는 것을 아는 것과 실제로 그 축복을 소유하는 것은 다른 이야기입니다. 핵심은 당신의 믿음으로 접속하는 것입니다. 바로 이것이 아브라함이 한 일입니다. 창세기 17:5에서 하나님은 아브라함에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “…내가 너를 많은 민족들의 조상으로 삼았기 때문이니라”(한글킹제임스). 아브라함은 그의 믿음으로 접속했습니다. 그는 자신의 마음의 눈으로 봐야만 했습니다.

성경은 아브라함이 하나님을 믿었고, 그것이 그에게 의로 여겨졌다고 말합니다. 아브라함은 믿었습니다. 아브라함은 하늘에 있는 별을 세면서 그의 자손이 이와 같을 것이라는 실재를 그렸기 때문입니다. 그는 믿음으로 보았고, 그의 영으로 하나님의 말씀의 실재를 받아들였고, 말했고, 그 일은 결국 이루어졌습니다.

Connect With Your Faith

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ”(Ephesians 1:3).

The Apostle Paul was letting us know in our opening verse that we’ve been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ. He strengthens the thought further in 1 Corinthians 3:21 when he says, “…all things are yours.” In the same vein, the Apostle Peter tells us that God’s “…divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness…” (2 Peter 1:3 NKJV).

It’s one thing to know that you’ve been blessed with and in all things, and it’s another thing to actually take possession of the blessings. The key is connecting with your faith; that’s what Abraham did. In Genesis 17:5 NKJV, God said to him, “…I have made you a father of many nations.” Abraham connected with his faith; he had to see with the eyes of his mind.

The Bible says Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. He believed, because he had visualized the reality of his children as he attempted to number the stars (Genesis 15:5). By faith, he saw and accepted the reality of God’s Word in his spirit, spoke it forth, and it came to pass.

Romans 4:20-22 says, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.” Learn to visualize and take a hold of God’s provisions for you in Christ Jesus. Refuse to stagger at God’s Word through unbelief; take a hold of your blessings first in the spirit, and speak them forth.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for enlightening the eyes of my understanding through your Word. I’m the seed of Abraham and all things are mine. I’m a champion forever! The eyes of my mind are open to visualize and take a hold of every good thing that belongs to me in Christ Jesus to the praise and glory of your name, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
