Stand Out And Be Courageous
“네 평생에 너를 능히 대적할 자가 없으리니 내가 모세와 함께 있었던 것 같이 너와 함께 있을 것임이니라 내가 너를 떠나지 아니하며 버리지 아니하리니”(수 1:5)
저는 종종 수년 전에 고등교육 기관들에서 얼마나 사이비 종교활동이 활발해졌는지 되새깁니다. 일부 그리스도인들은 때때로 이런 어둠의 사람들에게 위협을 받고 겁을 먹었습니다. 그러나 저는 성경을 공부하며 다윗, 모세, 입다와 같은 사람들의 일들을 읽을 때마다 왜 그리스도인들이 사이비 종교인들로 인해 겁을 먹는지 이해할 수 없습니다. 그래서 저는 “주님, 저에게 기회를 한 번만 주세요. 제가 그 사이비 사람들을 쫓아내겠습니다!”라고 기도했습니다.
드디어 저는 대학에 입학하게 되었고, 1학년 때 그 첫 번째 경험을 하게 되었습니다! 어느 날 밤, 사이비 종교인들이 예복을 완전히 갖춰 입고 춤을 추며 캠퍼스로 들어오자, 엄청난 대혼란이 일어났습니다! 많은 사람들이 숨을 곳을 찾기 위해 다른 방향으로 급히 움직이는 동안, 저는 무릎을 꿇고 방언으로 기도하며 말했습니다. “주 예수님, 저는 당신의 은혜로 이 일을 처리하겠습니다. 그들은 캠퍼스에서 다시는 이런 뻔뻔한 짓을 못할 것입니다.”
1 년 후, 그들은 자신들이 “항해 중”이라는 메시지를 밤에 전했습니다. 그래서 저는 “어디로? 절대 안 되지!”라고 말했습니다. 밤이 되어서 저는 형제들 몇 명을 모아 놓고 말했습니다. “우리도 오늘 항해한다!” 사이비 종교인들이 소음을 내며 선동할 때, 우리는 반대편에서 춤을 추며 “우리의 전쟁 무기는 육신적인 것이 아니요, 오직 하나님을 통하여 견고한 요새들을 무너뜨리는 능력이라!”(고후 10:4, 한글킹제임스)고 노래했습니다.
우리는 영 안에서 그들을 체포하고 있음을 인식하며 노래했습니다. 무슨 일이 일어났는지 아십니까? 다음 날, 경찰들이 그들을 찾아와서 체포했습니다! 하나님을 찬양합니다! 수개월 후, 사이비 종교단체 리더들과 멤버들은 구원을 받았고 우리와 함께 하게 되었습니다.
그리스도인인 우리는 그 어떤 일이나 사람에 대해 겁먹어서는 안 됩니다. 주님은 수년 전에 저에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 모세와 함께 있었던 것처럼 너와 함께 있을 것이다. 나는 너를 떠나거나 버리지 않을 것이다.” 그리고 그분은 지금도 당신에게 동일한 말씀을 하고 계십니다. 강건하십시오. 그리고 용기를 내십시오.
하나님의 말씀은 믿을 수 있습니다. 이것이 제가 오늘 드리는 말씀입니다. 당신은 하나님의 말씀에 자신의 삶을 걸 수 있습니다. 다른 사람들이 어떤 상황에 대해 겁에 질리고 두려움에 가득 찰 때, 당신은 그에 맞서고 용기로 충만하십시오.
고백
주님이 나의 빛이고 구원이신데 내가 누구를 두려워하겠습니까? 주님은 내 생명의 능력이시니 내가 누구를 무서워하겠습니까? 군대가 나를 대적하여 진을 칠지라도 내 마음을 두려워하지 않습니다. 내 안에 계신 분이 세상에 있는 자보다 크시기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

STAND OUT AND BE COURAGEOUS
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee (Joshua 1:5).
I often recall how, many years ago, cult activities in tertiary institutions were on the rise. Some Christian groups were threatened and intimidated from time to time by these nocturnal groups. But as I studied my Bible and read about the exploits of people like David, Moses, Jephthah, etc., I couldn’t understand why any Christian would be intimidated by cultists.
So, I prayed, “Lord, give me just one chance; I’ll force those cult members out!”
Finally, I got into the university, and then came my first experience in my first year! One night, the cult members came dancing into the campus in their full regalia, and there was complete pandemonium.
But while many scampered in different directions, looking for where to hide, I got on my knees, spoke in tongues, and I said, “Lord Jesus, by your grace, I‘ll deal with this; they’ll never have such effrontery on this campus again.”
Then on another occasion, a year later, they sent out a message that they were “sailing” that night. And I said, “Sailing where? Never!” When it was night, I gathered some of the brethren, and said, “We’re sailing tonight!” As they (the cultists) were making noise and rabble-rousing, we were out on the other side, dancing and singing, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty through the Holy Ghost!”
We were singing with the consciousness that in the spirit, we’re declaring them arrested. Guess what?
The next day, the Police came looking for them, and they were arrested! Praise God! The months following, several of the cult leaders and members received salvation and joined us.
As Christians, we should never be intimidated by anything or anyone. It’s something the Lord said to me years ago; He said, “As I was with Moses, so I’ll be with you. I’ll not fail you nor forsake you”; and He’s saying the same to you, even now. Be strong, and very courageous. God’s Word is dependable. That’s what I’m telling you today. You can stake your life on it.
When others are terrorized and full of fear concerning any situation, stand out, and be full of courage.
CONFESSION
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear, for greater is He that’s in me, than he that’s in the world. Hallelujah!
