Making Progress From Glory To Glory
“형제들아 나는 아직 내가 잡은 줄로 여기지 아니하고 오직 한 일 즉 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고 앞에 있는 것을 잡으려고”(빌 3:13)
많은 사람들이 생각하는 전진이나 성공은 소득이 늘거나, 직장에서 승진하거나, 새 집을 구입하는 것들입니다. 그러나 참된 전진은 그 이상입니다. 참된 전진은 말씀과 성령의 사역을 통해 영의 발전을 이루는 것입니다. 먼저 당신의 속사람에 탁월함이 분명하게 나타나고, 그 다음에 그것이 자연스럽게 밖으로 나타납니다. 이는 당신 안에 있는 “진짜 당신”으로부터 나옵니다.
이것을 인식한다면 당신은 위기나 도전에 대해 겁먹지 않을 것입니다. 다른 사람들이 전진하고 있다고 해서 당신이 실패하고 있는 것은 아닙니다. 그러므로 다른 사람의 성공으로 당신의 발전이나 부족함을 판단하지 마십시오.
진정한 성공이란 하나님의 말씀을 통해 승리하는 삶을 살고 당신의 삶에 대해 그분이 갈망하시는 목표를 성취하는 것입니다. 그러므로 다른 사람과 자신을 비교하며 성공을 판단하는 것은 지혜롭지 않습니다. 당신은 다른 사람들에 대한 하나님의 계획을 모르기 때문입니다.
당신은 주님과의 관계 속에서 자신의 성공을 판단할 수 있습니다. 오늘날 당신의 삶을 보고 현재 단계에서 성공하고 있는지 알 수 있습니다. 성공은 상대적이며 당신의 신성한 목적에 따라 여러 단계에서 측정되기 때문입니다.
하나님께서 당신에게 주신 삶은 성공에서 성공을 거두는 계속 증가하는 영광입니다. 지금 당신이 성공하는 자라면 그분은 당신을 더 신뢰하실 수 있습니다. 각 단계에서의 성과와 업적을 정해진 목표와 비교하여 성공을 측정하고 축하하십시오.
어떤 단계에서 당신이 성공하고 목표가 커짐에 따라 도전이 증가할 수도 있습니다. 그럴지라도 당신은 모든 단계에서 승리해야 합니다. 도전을 극복하고 새로운 도전을 달성할 때 당신은 더 높고 새로운 수준에서 다시금 성공하게 됩니다. 그렇게 영광에서 영광으로 나아갑니다. 그것이 당신의 성공을 위한 하나님의 계획과 아이디어입니다.
고백
사랑하는 주님, 여러 다른 삶의 수준에서 전진을 이루는 방법을 알려주셔서 감사드립니다. 나는 당신에게만 초점을 맞추고, 나의 동기와 추구는 내 인생을 향한 당신의 계획과 목적을 성취하는데 있습니다. 나는 내 자신과 다른 사람을 비교하기를 거절하고, 당신의 말씀과 내 삶을 향한 당신의 목적에 따라 내 성공을 진단합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

MAKING PROGRESS FROM GLORY TO GLORY
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before (Philippians 3:13).
Many people think of progress or success as having an increase in income, getting a promotion at work, buying a new house, etc. But true progress is more than these; it’s the development of your spirit through the Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It’s that excellence which is obvious, first in your inner-man, and which inevitably radiates outwardly. It comes forth from the “you” in you.
When you have this awareness, you won’t be intimidated by the crises or challenges of life. That others are making progress doesn’t mean you’re failing. So, don’t measure your progress or lack of it by the success of others.
True success means living the victorious life through God’s Word, and achieving His desired goals for your life. It’s therefore unwise to measure your success by comparing yourself with someone else, because you may not know God’s plan for that person’s life.
Between you and the Lord, you can know whether you’re successful or not. You can look at your life today and tell whether you’re a success at the current phase of your life, for success is relative and measured at different phases in line with your divine purpose.
The life God has given you is one of ever-increasing glory where you heap success upon success.
If you’re successful now, He can count on you for more. Therefore, measure and celebrate your success at each point by comparing your performance or accomplishments with the set goals.
You can be a success at a certain level and then the goal broadens, the challenges are increased, but you must win at every level. When you overcome the challenges and attain those new goals, you become a success again at a new and higher level. It goes on that way from glory to glory. That’s God’s plan and idea for your success.
CONFESSION
Dear Father, thank you for showing me how to make progress at different levels of life. My gaze is on you only, and my drive and pursuit are on fulfilling your plan and purpose for my life. I refuse to compare myself with others, but measure my success in life with your Word and purpose for my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
