기독교를 가볍게 여기지 마십시오
Don’t Play Games With Your Christianity
“다만 너희에게 있는 것을 내가 올 때까지 굳게 잡으라”(계 2:25)
당신이 결단해야 하는 것 중 하나는 기독교에 대해 매우 진지해지는 것입니다. 영적인 일들을 비난하거나 성령을 가볍게 여기지 마십시오. 어떤 사람들은 영적인 것들에 대해 너무 육신적이거나 건성으로 대하게 되고, 하나님과 그들의 삶을 향한 하나님의 계획에서 멀어지고 있다는 것을 깨닫지 못합니다.
이것은 이스라엘 왕 사울에게 일어났던 일과 같습니다. 그는 잘못된 방향으로 너무 멀리 가버렸습니다. 심지어 선지자 사무엘이 그를 위해 기도하자 하나님은 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “그럴 필요 없다. 나는 그를 대체할 사람을 찾아 두었다.”(삼상 16:1) 사울을 향한 하나님의 계획은 이스라엘에 영원한 왕조를 세우는 것이었지만, 그는 그 계획을 놓쳤습니다. 그리고 다윗이 그 계획을 받았습니다.
에서의 이야기는 또 다른 고통스러운 이야기입니다. 성경은 이렇게 말합니다. “음행하는 자와 혹 한 그릇 음식을 위하여 장자의 명분을 판 에서와 같이 망령된 자가 없도록 살피라”(히 12:16) 얼마나 슬픈 일입니까! 에서는 자신이 모독했던 그 축복을 다시 받으려고 시도했습니다. 그러나 성경은 이렇게 말합니다. “… 눈물을 흘리며 구하되 버린 바가 되어 회개할 기회를 얻지 못하였느니라”(히 12:17) 그의 눈물은 변화를 가져오지 못했습니다. 이미 너무 늦었습니다. 이런 일은 정말 많이 일어납니다.
한 형제가 셀리더 혹은 성경공부 교사가 되었다고 상상해 봅시다. 교회에서 누군가가 그를 “화나게” 해서 그 형제는 셀원들에 대한 책임을 져버릴 정도로 화가 났습니다. 심지어 그는 교회를 떠나기로 결정했습니다. 너무나도 잘못된 결정입니다.
히브리서 12:15은 말합니다. “너희는 하나님의 은혜에 이르지 못하는 자가 없도록 하고 또 쓴 뿌리가 나서 괴롭게 하여 많은 사람이 이로 말미암아 더럽게 되지 않게 하며” 괴로움이나 분노가 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 부르심을 성취하는 것을 방해하게 하지 마십시오. 말씀 안에서 성령으로 살아가기로 결단하십시오. 영적인 지시를 따르고 하나님의 집에서 섬기는 것을 기뻐하십시오.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 당신의 뜻을 행하고 부르심을 성취하도록 내 안에서 역사하는 당신의 은혜에 감사드립니다. 나는 예수 그리스도께서 나를 구원하셔서 어떤 존재가 되게 하셨는지에 모든 에너지를 집중하여 결승선까지 경주를 달리고 있습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

DON’T PLAY GAMES WITH YOUR CHRISTIANITY
But that which ye have already hold fast till I come (Revelation 2:25).
One of the things you must make up your mind to do is to be very serious with your Christianity. Don’t profane spiritual things or play games with the Spirit. Some people become so carnal and casual with spiritual things and don’t realise when they’ve walked away from God and His plan for their lives.
It’s like what happened to Saul, the King of Israel. He had gone too far in the wrong direction that even when Samuel the prophet was interceding for him, God said, “No need; I’ve found someone else to replace him” (read 1 Samuel 16:1). God’s plan was for Saul to have an eternal dynasty in Israel, but he lost it, and David got it.
Esau’s story is another painful one. The Bible says, “Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright” (Hebrews 12:16). How sad! Afterwards, when he attempted to get the same blessing he had profaned, the Bible says in Hebrews 12:17, “…he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.” His tears didn’t make any difference; it was too late. This happens to many.
Imagine that a brother was made a cell leader or Bible study class teacher, but because someone “offended” him in the church, he was upset enough to walk away from his responsibility towards his cell members. He even decided he’d no longer be a member of the church. That’s so wrong.
Hebrews 12:15 says, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.” Don’t allow bitterness or anger prevent you from fulfilling your destiny in Christ. Make up your mind to live in the Word, and by the Spirit of God. Follow spiritual instructions and be excited about your service in the house of God.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for your grace at work in me to do your will, and fulfil my destiny. I’m running my race to the finish line, focusing all my energies on being all that Christ Jesus saved me for, and destined me to be, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
